Weird dreams

I had a dream where the Martian Manhunter was played by John Malkovich. I have never seen the latter in anything.

Mr Toodeloo's dream reminds me of a recurring nightmare I had as a kid. I was scared of the DIC "Kid In Bed" logo, so I would have nightmares that the logo would appear at the end of cartoons not produced by DIC, such as The Simpsons, Looney Tunes, and Garfield and Friends. Oh, and in the Simpsons one it wasn't the usual end credits, just the family dancing in front of their couch while singing a song.

Pretty much the same deal with me when I was a little kid, too, except my "scary logo" was the Klasky-Csupo "Robot/Splaat" logo. It got to the point where I can recall at least one occasion where I forced myself awake when my dream started rolling credits because I knew what was probably going to happen if I stayed asleep.

Oh dear, I too had a number of scary logo nightmares back in the day. Yes, the one from DIC was one of them. -_-

In my early elementary school days, I dreamed that Shrek was on TV. At one point my dad carried me out of the room to hide by the vacuum cleaner closet. He placed me on a platform that was near the top of the outside of the closet door for some reason. I coughed and my dad said, “Keep coughing!”, as if my coughing would provide us extra protection from what was on the living room TV. So, I tried to keep coughing, during which I heard Big Bird saying “Toodle-oo!”, which was the reason why we were hiding from the TV! Later in the dream, I think I was talking to my mom in her bedroom.

That platform later appeared in another dream I had around that time (I think). This time, I never got to sit on it. The dream ended with a disembodied voice (I think) causing my parents and I to float uncontrollably. This floating was a strange reference to the Takes the Bullet scene from Shrek 2, and it even used the audio from the movie.

A few nights ago, I dreamed I was a teacher in this long building, running a class with my old Japanese teacher. At some point, a little kid wanders outside and she immediately runs outside to look for her. I start to follow and find that the outside of the building looks like a motel with multiple floors. There are doors going into each of the units and the building continues back toward this mountain near the beach. Disoriented, I go back inside and find myself back in high school on the stairs between classes. I run into an old friend (actually an acquaintance I know from more recent times taking the place of a similar-looking person I knew in high school) on the middle landing between floors. We talk about one of the administrator staff who has a reputation for being a hardass for a bit.

The building then changes again to a beach house I'm visiting with my family. My mom is watching something on the TV, but where everyone else sees a normal show I instead see a minotaur-like creature telling me to eat everyone. I turn the TV off, but the creature just reappears. We decide to remove the TV and the minotaur is replaced by what looks like Barnacle Boy repeating "The ocean... throw it in the ocean" in a voice that sounds like Mr. Krabbs. Not trusting the new voice, we half-bury the TV on the beach instead. The beach is still there, but the mountain is gone during this part.

My scary logo was the Simpsons end card...specifically the Halloween ones. I used to get scared of it popping up in regular episodes.

When I was very young, I had a dream where I was going through a bizarre cycle in my house. I was sitting in a room, when a bunch of TVs appeared out of nowhere, making cartoony popping sounds that increased in pitch for each TV as they appeared. They were all showing the Ragdoll Productions logo that appears at the end of early North American VHS releases of Teletubbies. Then, the P-Pals appeared and sang their "This is PBS" jingle on all those TVs, which caused me to uncontrollably float into another room. I think I stopped moving by the time the jingle was over. Then, TVs with the Ragdoll logo appeared in the room I was now in…

I was watching the Simpsons episode "Marge Be Not Proud" but they added a bonus scene. After the part in Bart's fantasy sequence where everyone in juvie is getting their terrible Christmas gifts and Bart gets a soiled wig, it cuts to Ralph riding an out of control Christmas train singing some sort of gibberish (i think he was trying to sing Jingle Bells backwards) and he runs through various bushes and trees with kids' heads sticking out of them, and then we see Moleman walking on the tracks. In typical Simpsons fashion, he gets run over by the train.

I reconciled with an ex friend of mine and we helped each other complete a game event. Then the very next day he got extremely aggressive about me supposedly hoarding the prizes (One of which I didn't even receive), to the point that he called me the f slur. After I reported him for the behavior, he got into my house and started whining about his account being in trouble, which I obviously didn't care about, but my friend did (For context, this ex friend is my best friend's boyfriend). We got into an argument over this, but it just kinda ended and I started battling a boss in the game that had the event.

You ever just formulate an idea for a video game in your dreams?

Enter Wolfhound, a dlc pack for an unnamed action RPG. In it, a massive talking wolf joins the party as they ascend a snowy mountain.

The player can command the wolfhound to dig things up or attack whatever it sees. Just be careful that whatever it sees isn't one of your party members. You could throw bait at enemies so the wolfhound could target them. As you climb up the mountain, you'll occasionally encounter outposts, and by defeating the enemies festooned at those outposts, the facilities there would level up (i.e. recovering more HP at campsites, more items available at shops, etc).

It also had Breath of the Wild's inventory system, for some reason.

I don't know about video games, but I've had ideas for TV shows in my dreams.

When I was a kid, they used to have preview shows for the upcoming season of Saturday morning cartoons. Around that time (mid 1970s), I had a dream about one of those shows, except it combined cartoons with prime time shows. The three shows I remember from that dream were Genie Weenie Schmeenie (about a genie who ran a hot dog stand), Hall (a legal drama about an ex-hippie who becomes a successful attorney), and Hard-Boiled Hogan (about a pro wrestler turned private eye).

Fast forward to a few years ago, where I had a dream that I was working at Marshall Field. During our lunch hour, my co-workers and I watched TV in the break room. The TV showed a promotion for a parade on State Street in Chicago featuring "your favorite cartoon characters" ... except those characters never existed outside of my dream. Two of the cartoons I remembered were Fabulous Feline Fighting Force (about a trio of anthropomorphic cat women) and Bernice (an animated sitcom about a clumsy housekeeper). A third cartoon was announced, and my co-workers kept guessing which cartoon it was (one guessed My Little Pony), but it was actually a cartoon called Sheriff Dippy. The only thing I remembered about that cartoon was that it had a buttload of characters.

A Youtuber I like had a pet cheetah and it was wearing a dog collar. He took it off of the animal.

What's weird is where said Youtuber lives that would be illegal to own as a pet. And his content doesn't have anything to do with animals (aside from a few videos of his pet cat)

I was in a Dead by Daylight-type game where all of the characters were cartoon funny animals trying to avoid being caught and eaten by the Big Bad Wolf. I distinctly remember that the playable characters included Fifer and Fiddler Pig, Dom, and my own RP character Kenny (who I was in the dream).

I recall at one point Dom and Kenny/me ending up so close to the Wolf that the Wolf grabbed my arm and started shaking salt onto it. We both got away, though.

Yeah, in retrospect it feels like a legitimately cool idea.

That sounds like a really cool idea for a video game! I feel like that could work as a Mascot Horror game, where the Wolf is genuinely scary, or as a more kid-friendly game inspired by classic cartoons.

2day I had a kind of anthology dream series.

The 1st revolved around me playing Mann vs Machine on a map set on the sky, with Minecraft blocks floating around. It looked like I was doing piss poor, but I held off surprisingly well with my team. I was playing as Scout, with the Force A Nature, which is stupid of me.

The 2nd was with me and my nephew in some kind of trailer on a bunk bed, but the trailer was moving (and pretty fast 2) on an endless road.

The 3rd revolved around me walking in a neighborhood alone at night. I think I saw 1 person, but I find a car with my grandma in it. We drive 2.. Some kind of theater building? Idk how 2 explain it, but it was a bit dark, and had mostly red carpetting, and decorating, and was really spacious. Like, a normal room in there was a bit bigger than the size of a theater room. I found myself in some kind of mall area in the building, looking 4 my grandma. I, at 1 point, found a video game store area, which I had seen in a previous dream. It looked just a bit different though. We reunite and drive off to a tall city, in instant daylight. I find myself losing her again, this time in a crowd. I search everywhere 4 her in the crowd, and then I woke up.

Had a pretty bad nightmare last night.

There was this zombie virus going on that kinda resembles the one from World War Z, that apparently claimed the lives of 3.9 billion people.

Then I remember people trying to escape by driving across this really foggy bridge while the zombies wreak havoc everywhere.

Last night I had another academics-based dream, despite having graduated from the university a long time ago.

This time, I was scheduled to take a long math exam which, apparently, also included physics problems on relativity. It was 6:30 am and there was a mild rain, though the sky was unusually dark. So I began taking a bus to go to where I would take the test (apparently, it was taking place in a house located in a street not too far from where the police station is). I was very nervous, because I didn't know the complexity level of the math problems. If it was going to feature relativity problems, then I'd probably see tensors, which are a fatal weak point of mine since I never got to fully understand them.

Sometime later (it almost seemed like a different dream following up directly the previous one, as I neever even knew how I fared in the test, or even if the test itself was done at all in the marked spot), I was playing Tears of the Kingdom and I reached a very ominous tower in the skies. It looked very similar to that facility where Jango Fett's clones were being trained in Attack of the Clones. I tried getting there, but the many floating cyclones and the hovering platforms having strong enemies prevented me from approaching. I woke up without ever having set foot in that tower.

I dreamt that there was this new religion, kinda like Christianity and Judaism in that they believed in a Messiah. However, unlike in Judaism, they thought the Messiah had already arrived, and unlike in Christianity, they didn't think it was Jesus (though oddly, they still celebrated Christmas). They thought the Messiah was... an ordinary housecat (specifically, a little black cat).

I had a dream where I became some ghost like entity being chased by cops(?). It was really weird and confusing.

I had yet another dream about a new episode of Milo Murphy's Law. This time, the dream was about Milo apparently getting ready to go on vacation - he was wearing a Hawaiian shirt (which felt like a bit of a possible Actor-Inspired Element, given that his voice actor is also known for wearing Hawaiian shirts) as he was walking around his house, and was for some reason directly talking to the audience about what he was planning to do while on vacation.

As for where he was going, he ended up in an alternate dimension. I couldn't really figure out if that was where he was planning to go, or if he ended up there by accident. Both seem possible.

I once dreamt I was browsing the TV Tropes forums and some of the conversations were a bit… unhinged. There was a page to talk about DS games that made you cry, but then there was a thread talking about how Nintendo had halted production on main console games and not paid their staff until they finished VR ports for some of their recent hits. Also the DS thread derailed into some discussion about pub breakfasts and fashion (which amounted to just listing items of clothing and their prices). Why no one had been thumped is beyond me.

Finally, I was linked to a work page for an Etrian Odyssey V remake consisting of a poster depicting a new class, the Physician (looked like a Celestrian class). The only other detail I could remember was at least one new voice option. The page was for an unreleased game, so I would expect it to be quite barren.

They unveiled the theme song for the Barney & Friends reboot. It was pretty much the same as the original with a few different lyrics, and there was a part towards the end where Barney and his friends turn into blobs (they sort of looked like the characters from VeggieTales) and bounced around, and the theme song ends with what appears to be a drawing of a cat's face.

I just recalled a dream I had when I was a very little kid.

I was watching Nick Jr., and this was during the Face era. Face was in the middle of announcing the next show when he suddenly stopped and said: "Psst, catch this!" in a low whisper. The scene then panned to the right where a digital timer was rapidly counting down to zero, and when it hit zero, the scene panned back over to Face, who started to yawn when the scene froze in the middle of him doing so, and the scene zoomed into his open mouth and faded to black.

It stayed on a black screen for a few seconds before suddenly cutting to the inside of a strange castle where various Nick Jr. characters and non-descript people were running around in a panic and Face, now a floating face with a pair of disembodied legs underneath him (I distinctly remember they looked like floating tuxedo pants with nice dress shoes) was running up to someone and shouting "Franklin! We've been attaaaaaaacked!" in a really whiny-sounding voice. Franklin (who was a very large adult for some reason) asked Face to explain. It's been so long that I don't remember how their conversation went, but I know it ended with Franklin getting extremely annoyed with Face for some reason and having two guards take Face away and punish him by...pushing Face through a grate in the floor. After a few pushes, Face seemed to phase through the grate and fall into a very deep pit. He started making a very ridiculous-sounding scream as he fell...which faded into the last part of "Circle of Life", and the whole scene apparently turned out to be a trailer for The Lion King, with the scene fading into a shot of Pride Rock with the movie's logo over it. I believe I woke up the moment the "trailer" ended.
