Useful Notes Cleanup

Since the real life section on Cool Plane got nuked under NRLEP, I'm wondering if it would run afoul of the rules to organize examples of real life planes that prominently appear in media under Useful Notes. Plane Spotting exists but its more of an article on aviation history. I am aiming for something similar to Guns of Fiction or Useful Notes/Dinosaurs. Cool Guns managed to dodge the axe, but planes unfortunately didn't.

Does NRLEP prohibit recreating such content in any form whatsoever, or just as part of the tropes list?

What we don't want is for such an article to consist mainly of gushing about how awesome planes are. That's way outside the scope of TV Tropes. A Useful Notes article should have the main purpose of informing writers about a subject so they can depict it accurately. At a minimum there needs to be relevance to media in that the aircraft being described appear in fictional works.

As noted in the other thread, No Real Life Examples, Please! extends to Useful Notes. You can't simply transplant the RL section of Cool Plane there and call it a day.

In addition to Theresa May, the following UK Prime Minister pages also don’t have mentions of their portrayal in fiction, Margaret Thatcher, James Callaghan, Stanley Baldwin, Bonar Law, Henry Campbell-Bannerman, Arthur Balfour, The Earl of Rosebery, Marquess of Salisbury, The Earl of Aberdeen, The Earl of Derby, The Earl Grey, Viscount Goderich, and George Canning.

I see that when UsefulNotes.Driving Stick was cut, it left a red link on the Useful Notes page. Since there doesn't appear to be any reason to recreate the article, would it be okay if I deleted the link? I'm not sure what the protocol is for this section.

Do you think The Other Rainforest's name is too ambiguous? When I think of a rainforest other than the Amazon, I'd normally think of the florests in Congo or Indonesia, not the pacific nortwest temperate rainforests, but I am not sure if it's because I am not American.

I've gone through the rest of the Heads of State index and the following (not including pages that are lists) don't have mentions of them in fiction, Pierre Trudeau, Chiang Kai-shek, Gustav Mannerheim, David Ben-Gurion, Benjamin Netanyahu, Claudius, Einar Gerhardsen, Abdul Aziz Ibn Saud, Henry The Third, James VI and I, James II, John Tyler, Zachary Taylor, James Garfield, and Benjamin Harrison. What should be done with them?

Here it was pitched that Characters.Pokemon Types (which cannot be described as characters even generously) be repurposed into a Useful Notes about gameplay and type/moveset effectiveness. Precedence cited is UsefulNotes.Yu Gi Oh, which gives a rundown of the rules.

I would say no, and that Yu-Gi-Oh page is also against the policy. We are not a gameplay site. We don't need to host walkthroughs, guides, FAQs, or any similar content. We are about tropes.

Yeah, we don't need UN page for that. Useful Notes is supposed to store useful information for writing purposes. We don't specific pages for game/work mechanics. People can look for that on other wikis.

Now that The Amazon was moved to useful notes, I have made a sandbox, what do you think?

Probably, but since there are a lot of tropes it should be made sure first that they are present at the franchise page.

There's also UsefulNotes.Magic The Gathering, which should be cut as well, along with some more examples in Useful Notes (in the Games and sports folder under the Tabletop games section).

Any additional thoughts on those Heads of State entries I brought up?

UsefulNotes.Hair Color In Japan should probably be renamed to UsefulNotes.Hair Color In Japanese Media to better reflect its subject, since it doesn't talk much about hair color in real-life japan. not a groundbreaking change or anything, but i think that would make it more clear

I think that's fair, since it talks about unnatural hair colors.

I found AnimalsFearNeutering.Useful Notes. Should the namespace be swapped? The article is currently not wicked anywhere.

Just delete it. I don't know what it's for but it has nothing to offer TV Tropes.
