I actually found it first on the Villains Wiki, and later discovered TV Tropes when I typed it into Google Search. This was back when this wiki was called "Television Tropes and Idioms".

I can't deal with these forums; they anger up the blood too much.
It was a looong time ago so I don't remember that clearly, but I'm pretty sure it was either The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You or Breaking the Fourth Wall.

Wish I could tell you but unfortunately, it was so long ago I don't even remember how I stumbled upon the site. It was not long after the site's inception, though. The earliest trope I remember reading was Adventure Towns. The page for Johnny Bravo is the earliest work page I remember reading. I was still confused about the purpose of the website — I thought it was like those "top 10 overused movie cliches" lists — so I was confused to see "Animated Show" had a page ("how is that a cliche?!")
