Shrek the Third (I watched the first two movies in prior weekends). I don't like Forever After at all, so my Shrek marathon will continue (and end) with Puss in Boots.
I also plan to watch 1997's Space Jam soon, because Netflix will remove it in May.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Finally, someone else who prefers Shrek the Third over Forever After!
I just watched Trolls World Tour on Friday. It's pretty cute, but I'm a bit too old to really get into it. Love Rachel Bloom though! And the themes of multiculturalism are really great.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Another Round. Ending song gonna be stuck in my head for a while.
White Fang
I saw it as a kid and one scene I remember is when they're out in the bush. Ethan Hawke goes to sleep, and wakes up with flames in front of him, and a growling wolf hovering above the flames. Scared the shit out of me as a kid. That scene is still pretty effective.
The newest Mortal Kombat movie.
It's... enjoyable, but I think I prefer the 1995 original. The new one is still much better than Annihilation, however.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Same, just saw that movie myself and well I did enjoy it but the first one is still the best imo.
I still feel like they didn't need to add Cole since there's already a huge amount of characters from the source material instead of making a canon foreigner.
Meet the Tamas!◊ Can't let any of those suckers live! The Empire Strikes Back. On May 4th I wanted to watch the full original Star Wars trilogy but didn't quite have enough time so somehow it ended up being A New Hope and Spaceballs. Anyway now I'm trying for the whole trilogy by the end of the week. Maybe the prequels will even be next - of those I only ever watched Phantom Menace.
Evil Dead 2 on VHS. It's a totally different experience than watching it any other way, the picture and sound quality mixes with classic Sam Raimi cheese just perfectly.

I can't say goodbye to yesterday…I watched a Chinese movie called Skyfire. It's a Disaster Movie about a volcanic island that now houses a high-end resort system and the volcano explodes as expected.
Plenty of Artistic License – Geology, and so many cliches that I've seen plot elements and characters in a half dozen other movies.
And it's the Hong Kong Dub version.
For two bucks on Prime TV, it's a fine popcorn movie. Certainly not a bad one but not a standout great one.
Got an early copy of the In the Heights movie the other day and watched it with my mom. Won't spoil it for anybody but it was a wonderful experience, and I really loved the cinematography and editing.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. The Mitchells vs. the Machines. This was pretty entertaining - I like that, while it starts out seeming like it might go in that direction, it's actually not a "phones bad" movie and is a little more nuanced than that. Also, the specific memes it references are kind of old and dated ones note , but as the movie went on I decided it was a deliberate choice with the reasoning that 1) internet culture moves fast enough that if they referenced all current memes in the script they'd be old by the time the movie was out anyway, and 2) the movie as a whole is eventually going to be dated anyway, so they may have been more trying to predict the types of memes that would still be kinda remembered in 5-10 years.

The Mitchells vs The Machines for me, too.
Eric and Deborahbot 5000 are feckin adorable, I swear.

The Mitchell movie is in my watchlist. I'm planning to see it this weekend. *+*
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Double post, 'cuz I forgot to update: I watched it, and it's a lot better than I thought. Okay, maybe I'm too easy to impress, but I had a fun time watching it. Would you judge me if I said I can relate with Katie in so many ways?
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300The Last Airbender out of morbid curiosity. I regret everything.
Brightburn. Pretty decent "evil kid sci fi horror" with kind of a trope-y premise: basically a deconstruction of Superman's origin story that turns into more of a supervillain origin.
Raya and the Last Dragon as the commercials for the movie made it sound good and it was good.
I finally saw Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, which is a fairly So Okay, It's Average sci-fi flick. The severe miscasting of the lead pair is the biggest downside, because both Valerian and Laureline look and sound way too youthful to be taken seriously as badass space-cops. But besides that hiccup, the movie is a run-of-the-mill yet fun retro Space Opera, with some interesting themes and visuals. I would kinda want to see that universe explored more, except with other main characters. Oh, and that opening-scene with Major Tom is excellent.
I also saw Raya and the Last Dragon. I liked the dynamic between the two flawed protagonists, and I really loved James Newton Howard’s score.
Why movies like this aren't made anymore?
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300The premiere movie-long episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch.
It was awesome.
Wish Dragon. It was cute and silly. Tonally inconsistent but it used its tones effectively.
Children of the Sea. It's very good. Fathom Events got its mojo back. It had a pretty sad beginning, though. It made me want to give Ruka a hug and tell her everything's going to be okay. :(
I like to keep my audience riveted.Captain Ron. I hadn't seen it since I was a kid, so it was fun to see what more "adult" jokes went over my head. I think I was young enough at the time that I had to have the "Gorillas"/"Guerillas" joke explained to me.
REDLINE
It was stupid, bombastic, and nonsensical. My mom’s sensitive, I can’t believe she sat through the entire thing yet here I am with the jitters. It still holds up and remains one of my favourite movies.
