Inspired by this thread, I've noticed that this wiki doesn't have a dedicated cleanup thread for negativity.
As we all know, Complaining About Shows You Don't Like, Creator Bashing and other negativity isn't desired on the wiki, except in a few selected areas like reviews and several Darth Wiki pages (and even then, with limitations). And yet, it's one of the most common sins wiki contributors can make.
So, if you find a page, TLP or discussion whose content seems like a straight-up insult or any other bitching - including complainy soapboxing -, you might ask here for help with removing said content.
The sandbox for this project is located at Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining.

That probably has something to do with the show making rather big changes, some rather unpopular with the fans.
Optimism is a duty.I added South Park to the cleanup page. Surprised it doesn't have a cleanup thread.

Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread!I've thought about making one (especially since it's my current special interest). Though what I notice is that it attracts gushing on top of the episodic troping, moreso than the complaining. (If anything there's more "complaining by proxy of gushing" - complaining about whatever SP complains about.) Dedicated show threads rarely get activity though, but it's popular enough that it might work?

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I'm open to a South Park cleanup. I had actually wanted myself to open a semi-related Simpsons cleanup because that show attracts a litany of complaining about controversial episodes and Seasonal Rot, among other things.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallI found this on Derailing Love Interests:
- Futurama: Season 6's "Proposition Infinity," which uses human/robot relationships as a metaphor for gay marriage, does this to Kif. He's suddenly Flanderized into such a wuss that he's afraid to watch cooking shows because they contain chopping, and Amy suddenly becomes utterly disgusted with him, when it was Kif's sweet nature that attracted her to him in the first place. All so Amy can wind up in a relationship with Bender that doesn't last to the end of the episode, the last scene of which has her reconcile with Kif. Apparently this was easier than just creating a one-off human love interest for Bender, or using human/alien relationships for the metaphor instead or something. It doesn't help that the Bender/Amy romance is (accidentally?) portrayed as being a pretty dysfunctional case of All Girls Want Bad Boys.
Is the bolded part necessary? I feel like it's calling the episode out for bad writing, which I think isn't looked highly upon on the site.
It is a fairly negative trope, but the rest of the entry describes it well enough anyway. The bolded part isn't necessary.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. The Simpsons and South Park are still popular shows, so I'd imagine there'd be at least some activity on those cleanup threads.

Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread!I'm very familiar with South Park, so I can help with the cleanup thread.
Optimism is a duty.I'll make one right now.
EDIT: Done.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I'm wondering does this thread cover villain whitewashing as well since there is a Franchise that attracts quite a lot of it.
CM Sandboxes, MB SandboxesIs it complaining about the heroes or something?
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I think the "gushing" thread might be a better fit.
Edited by ShinyCottonCandy on Apr 21st 2021 at 9:07:02 AM
SoundCloudIt does also include complaining about the heroes to make the villains look better, so in that way, it's both.
CM Sandboxes, MB SandboxesIt would also be good to go through Franchise Zombie as the page naturally attracts complaining.
Kirby is awesome.Forced Meme looks like a complaining magnet, probably because of inherent negativity of the title.

Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread!to repost this from another thread, would it be okay to add Animal Crossing: New Horizons to Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining? while the main page is mostly fine aside from a few odd entries (Bribing Your Way to Victory, The Computer Is a Lying Bastard, Earn Your Fun, Guide Dang It! which is already being discussed as a YMMV item) it's attracted many more complaining examples on its YMMV page, to the point it's had three separate subpages created primarily dedicated to complaining (ScrappyMechanic.AnimalCrossingNewHorizons, TheyChangedItNowItSucks.AnimalCrossingNewHorizons, ThatOneSidequest.AnimalCrossingNewHorizons). i spent a while trying to keep it in check, but i think it needs a serious cleanup project dedicated to it to remove excessive descriptions and things that are outdated or fringe issues
It already has a cleanup thread somewhere in Short-Term Projects... And it's also a recent work which experienced a huge surge of new players because of outside forces, yeah, I don't have any problems with putting it on the sandbox.
Yeah knock yourself out. The sandbox used to be for infamous works, but it was changed and is now for any work that attracts complaining that needs cleanup. New Horizons sounds like it absolutely fits. Go right ahead.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallI wonder if we could get Septimus to add the sandbox's link to the pinned post.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessEh I don't know about that. I was thinking about cleaning up the sandbox first—I may have added things that didn't attract as much complaining as I thought they did to it. Maybe it needs a minor cleanup, I don't know.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallThis is on the YMMV page for Western Animation/Didou:
- Tastes Like Diabetes: No antagonists and well, you can pretty much tell you're in for this from Louie's speech mannerisms.
It's a preschool show about a rabbit teaching kids how to draw, I have no idea how an antagonist would fit into that. This feels like an excuse to snark about a preschool show being a preschool show, not helped by the comment about Louie's speech mannerisms. This is also the only audience reaction on the page, if this goes then the page needs to be cut.
Looking through the main page, there's a ZCE for Bragging Theme Tune that I'm pretty sure is misuse. Turns out there was an antagonist in the series, albeit only for one episode. Still, It's a preschool show, there's a 99% chance that it's going to be overly cutesy. It's not going to teach you about domestic abuse or anything, it's for toddlers.
EDIT: There seems to be a problem with preschool shows getting Tastes Like Diabetes slapped on their YMMV page even though they're supposed to be cutesy. YMMV/Pocoyo and Jelly Jamm have Tastes Like Diabetes listed with no context as to how they fit.

Sandbox help wanted.Tastes Like Diabetes does fit many preschool cartoons, but that's not inherently bad and these entries should describe what exactly makes them so damn sweet.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I think you should bold, italicize or put in quotes the example in question, otherwise having almost every word bolded is too distracting to read
Two examples of Same Character, But Different. I feel like a lot of example writers forget this trope isn’t YMMV. It’s about characters returning drastically and inexplicably changed, not if you liked it or not.
- One of the big draws of Beast Wars was its heightened focus on character development as opposed to G1. So when its direct sequel series, Beast Machines, brought certain characters back into the fold, well... the usual complaints when a new TF property comes out seemed justified for once. Without naming names - for fear of Walls of Text, 'cause it applies to pretty much everyone - many characters were themselves In Name Only. Worst, certain characters who were altruistic to a fault in Beast Wars spontaneously became not so nice, if not outright Ax-Crazy.
I want to cut this one because not only is it complainy, but they didn’t even mention any specific examples of any specific characters changing.
- Android 17 in Dragon Ball Super is a straight-laced, pragmatic, no-nonsense character in both personality and fighting style. He's also something of a Straight Man to the sillier characters, with a deadpan sense of humor. This is basically the complete opposite of how he was characterized in Dragon Ball Z, where he was the most carefree and lackadaisical of his trio, screwing around in his fights and annoying his sister with his constant showboating and playing around. He also liked to fight, while his Super incarnation doesn't dislike it, but derives no particular enjoyment from it either, seeing it as a means to an end (e.g. material gain, like that boat he wanted). For that matter, his Super characterization is far more consistent with that of his sister, Android 18, than it is with him. She's Demoted to Extra in the same arc where he returns (after a more than twenty year absence in real time, and nearly 15 years in-universe), making it somewhat baffling as to why she couldn't have been used in his role instead.
- Possibly justifed by the revelation that he got married and has children now (one biological and the other two adopted) during his absence. As such, it's likely being a family man caused him to become more mature and grounded.
This one’s mostly alright, but I think I should cut everything starting with “For that matter”, which I suspect was written by a different troper than the one who added the example. Kinda off-forum topic, but also natter.

I'm cutting the "for that matter" part.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.
It also attracts a lot of episodic and speculative troping, sticking out like a sore thumb on the page.
