This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.
I've considered changing the quote on Series. At Home With Amy Sedaris to something from the first episode, but first I'd like to know if anyone finds it too long:

I like the Monk quote. Current Amy Sedaris quote is fine but an actual quote like you suggested, not just a synopsis, probably does work better.
Anyway I think I've said this before but the Little Bit Beastly page quote has little to do with the trope without context.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Agree on Little Bit Beastly. Vote to pull.
Tempted to pull this, from Über:
It's a good description of the tone of the work, but that was Gillen in an interview, pitching the book to comic fans.
My understanding is that we don't really want page quotes that define the work by comparing it to an unrelated franchise. And even if Spider-Man is culturally ubiquitous right now, I'm not convinced that Galactus is?
Any views?
Regarding the pulled Little Bit Beastly quote, how about this as a replacement?

Oh, Mr. Kennedy, you entertain me. To show my appreciation, I will help you awaken from your world of clichés.The current quote for MagnificentBastard. The Neverkind Saga is this:
Janara: A dangerous game, Nephy...
Nephera: The best kind, Janny.
Here's a possible replacement?
Revisiting this one - should a page quote that relies on comparisons to other works be cut?
Mm, I think that if you don't know what Galactus and Spider-Man do, you won't understand what the story is about.
Properly Paranoid doesn't emphasize the "properly" part enough, I think — can we do something with omniscient narration or something that shows the paranoia is legit?
Either works but I like the first one especially.
Vehicle-Based Characterization | Grief-Induced Split | Locker MailThe only entry on Quotes. The Shadow Knows is the Trope Namer, which doesn't actually have anything to do with the trope (about a shadow not matching the caster's body). Cut?
It’s not formatted right, either. Cut it.
I cut down the quote on Mystery Magnet.
I’ve never liked how the quote on Mistaken for Gay needs a footnote to explain how it fits the trope. These were the most page-quote-worthy things I could find on the on-page examples and Quotes.Mistaken For Gay. I’m not 100% sold on either of these as replacements but they’re at least better than the current.
Arthur: Perhaps one could think that here is a man who, for a change, puts his mother's welfare ahead of trying to prove his own manhood by chasing after everything in a skirt that moves!
Liz: No, that's far too complicated. They'll just think you're gay.
Does anyone else have any suggestions?
I like the But I'm a Cheerleader one.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Hour of Power doesn’t have a page quote yet. Here’s an idea I have:
If all else fails, use fire.
Expansion Pack World currently doesn't have a quote, and I'd like to use this one from World of Warcraft. It's a cute bit of Lampshade Hanging.
My only problem is that it's the same source as the image. Is that fine?
The current quote on WesternAnimation.WALLE spends too much time talking about other Pixar movies, but I can't think of a good replacement.
EDIT: The second verse of "Down to Earth"?
- "Did you think you'd escaped from routine
By changing the script and the scene?
Despite all you made of it
You're always afraid of the change
You've got a lot on your chest
Well, you can come as my guest
So come on down
Come on down"—Peter Gabriel, "Down to Earth"

That's good, but I want to offer a couple of other suggestions too.
Or maybe the first part of Hello Dolly's Put on your Sunday Clothes, since it is the movie's Real Song Theme Tune
There's a world outside of Yonkers
Way out there beyond this hick town, Barnaby
There's a slick town, Barnaby
Out there
Full of shine and full of sparkle
Close your eyes and see it glisten, Barnaby
Listen, Barnaby.

I think "Put On Your Sunday Clothes" is the most fitting. Without this movie I think a lot of people would never have heard of Hello Dolly
Crown Description:
What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
As far as I can tell, Mystery Magnet’s quote is three different quotes from one source mushed together. How does this look for a cut-down version?
