"nope"
—Blacktron Guy and Blue Astronaut
LEGOS IN SPACE is a series of games developed by jamesster for the Unity game engine about... well, just that.
And it runs entirely on Stylistic Suck.
Installments include:
- Legos in Space: THE GAME (also stylized L E G O S I N S P A C E: The Game)
- Legos in Space To: Atack of the Flours
- Legos in Space: The Movie
- Legos in Space: The Movie: The Fanfic
- Legos in Space: The Movie: The Fanfic: The Animated Fan Movie
- LEGOS IN SPACE TREE
- Legos in Space Online: The Rash of Cans
LEGOS IN SPACE contains examples of:
- All There in the Manual: The wiki contains tons of information on the Blacktron Guy and Constructor that is mentioned nowhere in the games themselves. Most of this useless information was made up on the spot by wiki contributors.
- Colon Cancer: Legos in Space: The Movie: The Fanfic: The Animated Fan Movie.
- Colony Drop: In LEGOS IN SPACE TREE, the Infomooniac is falling toward and, presumably, ultimately crashes into Legolandville.
- Dolled-Up Installment: Legos in Space: The Movie was originally an independent production by a much younger jamesster. Years later, he discovered the video and was filled with enough Old Shame to induct it into the series.
- Downer Ending: Legos in Space: The Movie: The Fanfic and LEGOS IN SPACE TREE end with everybody dying.
- Fake Difficulty: The poor controls and traction can make the platforming and driving segments of LEGOS IN SPACE TREE ridiculously difficult. You'd better get used to hearing the intro song to Pee-wee's Playhouse on loop.
- Fandom-Enraging Misconception: Intentionally hit with a sledgehammer by the title alone, which uses "LEGOs" as a plural for LEGO toys.
- Kill It with Fire: The Blacktron Guy spontaneously bursts into flames and sinks through the floor.
- Luke, I Am Your Father: The Blacktron Guy tries to say this to the Blue Astronaut in Legos in Space: THE GAME, but the Blue Astronaut doesn't believe him.
- Mind Screw: The giant mushroom in LEGOS IN SPACE TREE which is the embodiment of YouTube Poop. With low draw distance, spilling cubes of Dr. Robotnik in a bikini, and screenshots of CD-i games lining every surface, it can easily have this effect.
- Never Trust a Trailer: Only the intro screen shown in the trailer for LEGOS IN SPACE TREE appears in the actual game. And even the music is different in that scene.
- Non-Standard Character Design: The Constructor, who appears to be some sort of stock Unity model as opposed to the shoddy models created for the rest of the game.
- Oddly Named Sequel 2: Electric Boogaloo: Legos in Space To: Atack of the Flours.
- Shout-Out: According to the wiki, most of these are actually other sources ripping off LEGOS IN SPACE, not the other way around.
- Legos in Space: THE GAME has the Blacktron Guy reveal that he is the Blue Astronaut's father.
- The villain of Legos in Space To: Atack of the Flours and LEGOS IN SPACE TREE is the Infomooniac.
- LEGOS IN SPACE TREE has the hero's parents getting killed in a back alley, an intro screen with a face that can be dragged around, a car ruse, a sentient moon about to crash into the earth, a mushroom containing tons of YouTube Poop material, and an asteroids sequence akin to the minigame from LEGO Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge.
- Spell My Name With An S: The spelling of Stevenson's name changes every time it is mentioned in Legos in Space: The Movie: The Fanfic.
- Stylistic Suck: The very backbone of the entire series. Everything, from the low-resolution pixelated textures to the broken animations to the shoddy controls to the terrible spelling, has been made intentionally horrible. The series has even been likened to Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff, which led to this video.
- Take That!: The original game was made in response to all the LEGO fan games of questionable quality that were started in the wake of LEGO Universe's closing, particularly LEGO Nexus Adventures.
- Villain Protagonist: The Blacktron Guy is the player character in Legos in Space To: Atack of the Flours.
- A Winner Is You: Completing the first game rewards you with "YOU'RE WINNER". The second game has the message "YOU'RE WINNER AGAIN".
