  • Actor-Inspired Element: Austin Butler was the one to suggest that his voice for Feyd-Rautha channel that of Stellan Skarsgård (Baron Vladimir), with the reasoning that Feyd would have spent most of his childhood and life with the Baron and essentially been raised by him, and as such would naturally pick up a similar accent and cadence. According to Butler, Skarsgård himself had not been told about this prior to filming, and was taken off-guard when he heard this voice during their first scene together.
  • All-Star Cast: Just like the first, with returning actors including Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Charlotte Rampling, Josh Brolin and Javier Bardem. They are joined by Austin Butler (fresh off the considerable career boost Elvis gave him), Florence Pugh, Léa Seydoux and Christopher Walken. And if that’s not enough, the premiere of the film confirmed Anya Taylor-Joy had also joined the cast.
  • Approval of God:
    • Frank Herbert's son Brian (who's continued the Dune saga to this day) called the film the best adaptation of his father's work to date.
    • Sting, who played Feyd-Rautha in the 1984 film version, attended this film's premiere and spoke highly of Austin Butler's version of the character, even jokingly offering to let Butler wear the codpiece he had worn in the earlier adaptation.
  • Beam Me Up, Scotty!: Stilgar's frequent utterance of "as written" when it comes to anything related to the Lisan al-Gaib is frequently misquoted as "as it was written", especially in memes.
  • Cast the Runner-Up: The future vision of Alia Atreides is portrayed by Anya Taylor-Joy, who was previously considered to play Princess Irulan before the casting of Florence Pugh.
  • Delayed Release Tie-In: While the film was ultimately delayed to March 1, 2024 due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA and Writers Guild strikes, an Operator pack for a Sardukar was released for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II in November 2023, with Paul Atreides and Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen getting their own packs for the game's immediate sequel the following month.
  • Deleted Role:
    • Tim Blake Nelson was initially announced to be playing an undisclosed role. His scenes were ultimately removed, and the character he was set to play has yet to be revealed.
    • Stephen McKinley-Henderson reportedly filmed scenes reprising his role as Thufir Hawat from the previous film, but his scenes were ultimately cut.
  • Dueling Works: Came out sandwiched between the two parts of Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon, another Epic Space Opera film about La Résistance against a galaxy-wide empire.
  • Fake American: The British Florence Pugh portrays Princess Irulan with an American accent, presumably to match Christopher Walken, who plays her father.
  • Refitted for Sequel:
    • Feyd-Rautha was initially planned to have an Early-Bird Cameo in Part One, but was eventually Adapted Out with the specific intention of saving him for his larger role in the second half of the book, which this film adapts.
    • Gurney Halleck's Warrior Poet nature of playing the baliset and singing, as described in the book, was supposed to appear in the first film briefly but was cut for runtime. So this time around, Gurney is playing it immediately when he's reintroduced in this film.
  • Production Posse: Léa Seydoux and Dave Bautista both played in Spectre.
  • Release Date Change: The film was previously scheduled to be released on October 20, 2023, then it was changed to November 17. It moved to November 3 to adjust to changes in release schedules from other studios, then pushed to March 15, 2024, because of the SAG-AFTRA strike, particularly because the strike barred actors from promoting the films they appeared in. It was moved forward to March 1, 2024, after the strike ended.
  • Spoiled by the Cast List: Anya Taylor-Joy, who was never announced to be part of the cast at any point, showed up at the big premiere alongside the cast, and websites started listing her as playing Alia Atreides. Even ignoring updated cast lists, many correctly deduced that she's played that character. As the original Alia is a toddler in the book version of the story, her being played by an adult actress also spoils the film version of her would be voice-only or appear in Paul's vision.
