  • Paul repeatedly reaffirms his love for Chani throughout the film.
Paul: I will love you as long as I breathe.
    • After Paul and Chani physically consummate their relationship (or at least engage in some very heavy petting) we see the two of them lying together face to face at kissing distance, sharing an intimate conversation in a stilltent. It evokes both their closeness and the way they've come together through Paul adopting Fremen ways.
  • When Paul manages to connect to his unborn sister, after most of what she's relayed through their mother has been rather pragmatic advice, she sounds exactly like a sister talking to her beloved older brother.
    Alia: I love you.
  • The evening after Paul rides a sandworm for the first time, Stilgar gives him the name "Usul", and Paul chooses the name "Muad'Dib" after the desert mouse. In this version, he's called that as part of some light-hearted ribbing by the Fremen, but Stilgar sees the value in the name, as the desert mouse is a humble survivor like Paul. Every Fremen present then takes turn to embrace him, welcoming Paul as one of their own, and calling him by his new name. Chani only calls him "Usul" in a much more intimate manner than the rest (who call him "Paul Muad'dib Usul").
  • Paul reuniting with Gurney, who is overjoyed to find his young lord still alive after all.
    • As sad as it is that Paul accepts his role as the Kwisatz Haderach, it's also hard to not feel some measure of joy as Gurney smiles, nearly in tears, when Paul finally puts on his father's signet ring.
  • When an injured Stilgar insists that Paul should kill him in ritual combat and take his place as tribe leader so that he can speak at the assembly of Fremen leaders, Paul immediately refuses, stating that "I would rather cut off my own hand."
    • Even after drinking the Water of Life and becoming more ruthless and willing to take lives, he still refuses to kill Stilgar. Even when the man himself offers his life, Paul would rather break with Fremen tradition and cause countless Fremen to draw their blade in anger, putting himself at great risk, than kill his mentor.
  • Despite strongly desiring revenge on the Harkonnens, when Paul initially refuses to go south, Gurney immediately offers to stay back with him even if it means certain death. Gurney only relents when Paul firmly orders him to go south and protect Paul's mother.
  • Paul choosing to keep his father's signet ring, carrying it close to his heart, despite truly embracing life among the Fremen and moving on from his Atreides past.
  • Just before beginning his climactic fight with Feyd Rautha, Paul combines the traditional Fremen curse (may thy knife chip and shatter) with the Atreides sword salute.
