The hunt is on for Dr. Emilia, and friends start to vanish. It’ll take teamwork to make Kipo’s dream of a Human Mute Ultimate Friendship Alliance work.

Tropes:

  • The Alliance: In order to stop Dr. Emilia, Kipo wants to create the first alliance between both humans and all Mutes. However Fantastic Racism is full on play, as they don’t get along with other Mutes who don’t belong with their species. This is even lampshaded by Scarlemagne, of all people.
  • Ambiguous Syntax: Yumyan thinks the idea of H.M.U.F.A. is insane, and assumes everyone agrees with him. Kipo and the gang assume he was on board with it because, as Wolf recalls, his wording was "This is crazy! We all agree!" and then he left the room without any clarification.
  • Animal Jingoism: The Newton Wolves tell Kipo one of the reasons they distrust her is because she turns into a giant cat, and accuse the Timbercats of stealing their centrifuge (mind they were right on that one.)
  • Backing Away Slowly: As the other Mutes argue, Dave notices Mandu — who has developed a habit of gnawing on his exoskeleton — glaring at him and starts backing away from her as she advances towards him.
  • Big "SHUT UP!": To stop a fight within the Mutes, Kipo shapeshifts her head into the Mega Jaguar's and makes a giant roar.
  • Casual Danger Dialogue: Kipo is entirely unfazed as the Newton Wolves creep towards her and her friends. Now that she has the ability to near-instantly transform into a gigantic mega-mute, the threat the wolves used to pose to her is now minimal.
  • Children Are Innocent: Kipo squees when she finds the Mute children of all species getting along. Not knowing and not caring that they're supposed to be sworn enemies, all they see are other kids to play with.
  • Conflict Killer: The sudden arrival of the Mega Crabs starts a battle between Mega Mutes in the forest. While the wolves and hummingbirds leave, the snakes and Timbercats decide to put aside their differences and work together to aid Kipo and Song in taking down the crustaceans. Doing this actually makes them bond with each other later on.
  • Continuity Nod: Scarlemagne is in the same pheromone-proof glass cage that Emilia had ready for him in "Benson and the Beast".
    • The Newton Wolves have managed to get a new telescope for their observatory. One of the Hummingbombers mentions pooping on it out of spite.
  • Death Glare: All the mute factions gathered at Timbercat Hall give each other some intense stares as they all sit across from each other.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: Kipo realizes that the Mega Crabs are away from the sea because of Dr.Emilia’s sonic emitter, which means her hideout is somewhere in the ocean.
  • Fantastic Racism: As if looking down upon humans isn’t bad enough, many Mutes don’t get along with other groups of Mutes, either. To get things worse, they quickly blame each other when a few Mutes mysteriously disappear.
  • Forgot About Her Powers: When Mega Crabs show up and menace the village Kipo has to be reminded that dealing with mega mute attacks is her job.
  • Fun with Acronyms: Kipo calls the alliance between all Mutes and humans H.M.U.F.A. (Human Mute Ultimate Friendship Alliance).
    • She later wants to change it into H.M.U.F.F.A., only to find it weird and to make the second F silent.
  • Funny Background Event: Inverted. There is a brief funny foreground event involving two Timbercats disagreeing on how to tie a yarn rope while Jamack is explaining to Kipo why no mutes are joining H.M.U.F.A.
  • Giant Enemy Crab: The Mega Crabs are precisely what their name suggests. They menace Timbercat Village and it takes the joint effort of the Timbercats, the Umlaut Snakes, the Mega Monkey and Kipo to stop them.
  • Gory Discretion Shot: We don’t see any blood from the impaled Mega Crabs, but from everyone’ reaction, you can tell it’s a messy sight.
  • Grudging "Thank You": When Cotton saves Yumyan from a Mega Crab claw landing on him, he grudgingly thanks her for saving his life. She tells him not to mention it.
  • Hidden Depths: Jamack is a good singer.
  • Immediate Self-Contradiction: After the Hummingbomber leader says the Newton Wolves are vicious mutes that act aggressive towards others for no reason, one of the Hummingbombers recalls the time they intentionally pooped all over the Newton Wolves’ telescope.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: The Mega Crabs’ death.
  • I Was Having Such a Nice Dream: When Kipo wakes up her friends to show them the different Mute kids playing together, Benson complains he was in the middle of a dream where Troy sawed a woman in half and he couldn't see if he "magicked her back together again".
    Benson: I hate cliffhangers.
  • Kidnapped for Experimentation: The ending reveals that Dr. Emilia has kidnapped Jamack, Camille, and Boom Boom to use as test subject for her cure.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: It turns out that the Timbercats did steal the center fudgenote  from the Newton Wolves for the unraveling and the re-raveling, and because they love spinny things. This almost ruins Kipo’s chances to form the H.M.U.F.A.
  • Not Me This Time: Inverted. It was thought that the Newton Wolves' centrifuge was stolen by Dr. Emillia instead of the Timbercats, just like she was assumed (and confirmed at the end of the episode) to did with Camille and Boom-Boom. However, when Kipo brings it up during the H.M.U.F.A. meeting, Yumyan brings up that the Timbercats did steal the centrifuge.
  • Only One Finds It Fun: Bad Billions, of all people, seems to be the only mute who actually enjoyed the H.M.U.F.A. propaganda plays, if only for Jamack’s singing.
  • Running Gag: Mandu nibbling Dave. She is just growing her tusks.
  • Scary Teeth: The costume representing Dr. Emilia in the propaganda play at the beginning is designed with a terrible scowl and jagged teeth.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: The Newton Wolves and the Hummingbombers flee when the Mega Crabs attack.
  • Tempting Fate: When a large rumble is heard, Dave brushes it off as nothing to worry about. Cue the Mega Crab crushing Dave into the ground with its’ leg.
  • There Are No Rules: Molly Yarnchopper announces this to all the mute groups when they decide to settle things by fighting each other.
  • Time Skip: This episode begins a few months after the events of Season 2 finale.
  • Took a Level in Badass: After the Time Skip, Kipo can turn into a Mega Jaguar and back into a human at will without risking the Shapeshifter Mode Lock.
  • To Serve Man: The Humming Bombers believe the Newton Wolves ate Boom Boom, Good Billions denies this and says the last person they ate was a squirrel named Jeff.
  • Verbal Backspace: When Good Billion confirms that no wolf has disappeared:
Kipo: Dang it! I mean, uh, good.
