...Do you think he had to peel a layer off his you-know-what too? note

The world of Undead Unluck lends itself to plenty of horrifying moments due to the nature of its premise.

Spoilers Off applies to all Moments pages, so all spoilers below are unmarked!

     Negator Powers
  • Negator powers themselves fall under this category.
    • Fuuko herself is The Jinx who causes misfortune to anyone she touches with the effect being magnified depending on how much she likes the person and how long she touches them for. This can range from the fairly harmless against people she doesn't really like to an outright Touch of Death which summons meteors and alters the world around her to try and harm the recipient.
    • Shen can force people to move opposite the way they intend. This is first demonstrated during his and Void's fight against Fuuko and Andy where he prevents Fuuko from running away despite the inherent danger. However, much like Unluck it only affects those he likes, which not only resulted in someone he loved dying, but makes it useless against those he truly hates.
    • Rip's can cause any injuries he inflicts to never heal and prevents anyone from taking actions that could heal them when they are aware of it. This means any otherwise minor injuries can become fatal, as seen when he coerces Sean Datz to join Under with a cut on his stomach or when he cuts Fuuko in her shoulder. Whether large or small injuries those inflicted are unable to save themselves, as shown in when he cuts a bodyguard across the throat and he can't even cover the wound with his hands.
    • Akira Kuno randomly came across an artifact which gave him knowledge of the future and became the Unknown negator as a result. Not only is he invisible but he is unable to do anything to be perceived by the world. The only exception was the creation of an avatar through G-liner that could act for him, who unfortunately has to sacrifice himself at the end of the Autumn arc, leaving him completely imperceptible once again.
    • Nico has Photographic Memory which ensures he constantly remembers everything about anything including all the small details constantly. He manifests his during his wife's death and it doesn't even let him keep his older memories, resulting in his memories of her being crushed under the information he can't forget to the point he can't recall any of his memories of her when she was alive.
    • Juiz's Unjustice causes anyone she targets to act in the opposite in the way they desire. This means they will harm those they want to protect and can even cause them to kill themselves as seen multiple times throughout the series.
    • Top's Unstoppable kicks in any time he would slow down and causes him to go twice as fast. The only way he can stop is via an outside force, which prior to finding a safer method, required his body to undergo a drastic change like breaking his bones. It also enables him to hit with the force of his speed like when he got his powers and killed two of his friends and crippled the surviving one. What's worst is Top's interpretation of Unstoppable's deactivation requirement is potentially the tamest one; his profile mentions how someone else's interpretation of a dramatic change of shape could easily mean the user wouldn't be able to stop running until they died, heavily implying this was actually the case for one of the past Unstoppables.
    • Tatiana's Untouchable produces a constant barrier around her from the surface of her hair and skin. At its most devastating, it can destroy an entire cruise ship, while at its most tame it requires her to live inside a special robotic metal orb unable to come into contact with anyone. The only reason she hasn't died is because there's a small opening that allows her to eat.
    • While relatively tamer than some, Lucy's Unhealthy is also pretty horrible. Exactly What It Says on the Tin she's constantly sick as her power. Unlike other negators who can at least make use of their abilities even if they are massively inhibit their lives, Lucy can't. The only way she is able to aid Andy is because being constantly sick gave her a powerful imagination, which becomes useful when UMA Ghost allows everyone to use Astral Projection. Even then, it isn't enough to fight outside of Seal.
    • Gina's Unchange allows her to fix non-living things in place by negating their ability to be changed. This is shown in great deal during her fight with Andy and then when Billy later attained the power for his use later. Like with many abilities, it has lethal applications that would be dangerous unless you are among the few that can heal, but we later learn it can have even more devastating effect like freezing the air around people suffocating them on a mass scale. This is what happened when Gina first activated her Unchange for the first time.
    • Tella’s Untell negates Tella’s ability to communicate with his body in any way. Not only does it render him unable to speak, he can’t even use morse code and it stops him if he tries to give information face to face. And this ability appeared right when Tella needed to inform his camp that enemy tanks were approaching, with him despairing over his inability to communicate that to his injured comrades.
    • Similar to Tatiana and Chikara, Sean had an ordinary life and simply wanted to become an actor. After Unseen robbed him of that dream, his powers were noticed by a criminal gang when he was at his lowest. Without intervention, he embraces the gang lifestyle to become a ruthless criminal and murderer, as seen from the 100st loop Sean.
  • Negators tend to get their powers at a point which will cause the most suffering. What moves it into Nightmare Fuel territory is there being a malicious God which does so intentionally.
  • While The Masquerade is in full effect to for the average person, as seen with Chikara's and Tatiana's backstories, some like The Mafia are fully aware of superpowered beings. On a few separate occasions we've seen or heard of the Black Market for Negators and UMAs, with the Unrepair arc even taking place even taking place on one such auction site. Negators are especially vulnerable if a dramatic change to the world occurs and they are understandably confused by the changes. This leads to them sticking out like a sore thumb to any interested parties which leads to them being kidnapped. Both Billy and Andy on separate occasions even mention how they keep springing up despite the their efforts to crush them.
  • While some just want to live their lives or opt to fight God as a result of the lives they were given due to their negator powers, some naturally opted to Take a Third Option to abuse their powers. Case in point Sean Datz who prior to being forced to join Under went around killing people and committing robbery.
    • Another option appears when Ruin introduces himself. A fanatic devotee to God's plan, he's willing to fight for God to enact their will upon everything seeing all things as part of their vision.
  • After having finally causing Andy to open up during their trip through his memories, Fuuko learns the time of his earliest memory. Unfortunately, this earns the ire of Victor who is resolved to not only keep her away from his memories but to repeatedly kill her so that her soul gets snuffed out and weaken Andy's mind so he can assume control. His speed is so fast that Fuuko is unable to even react and he kills her so quickly she's often left at the next chapter of Andy's memories, dumbfounded, before a brief shot of his finger charging is seen.
  • The UMA are initially shown as Always Chaotic Evil which delight in causing human suffering. Even some allied UMA like Move only help the Union because doing so satisfies them. However, this after the Spring arc this is shown to be a Forced into Evil situation wherein even if they have no problems with humans, like Spring, God will force them into attacking them against their will.
  • Ruin, just ruin. Having appeared suddenly after the Spring fight he immediately stabs Fuuko through the chest in a sneak attack and after a brief fight disappears back into the shadows. He's then shows up shortly after having murdered dozens of people just to attract UMA Ghost outside of the Union headquarters the moment it's summoned. Fanatically devoted to God's will, he will do anything to serve them and showcases disturbing lack of empathy towards anyone or anything that does not fit with that will. To add the cherry on top, much like Andy he's immortal, but it's shown to be far more gruesome in execution. Like how when his head is vivisected during his fights, and he continues to speak despite that.
  • During the fight before the loop reset, we see the God that the Union is fighting against in all their presence. While the ruthlessness of Sun had been hinted at before now, it is now on full display immediately blowing off Chikara's arm after he freezes them in place.
  • Due to an oversight on her part in how her powers work, Bunny starts cooking inside her costume despite being in contact with Enjin (Unburn), screaming in pain the entire time.
  • The whole time since the Ark initiated its loop and everyone went off to fight Sun, Fuuko has been alone with Luna as they explain the conflict between them and Sun. However, frequently we cut back to Luna marveling at the efforts of the negators even as they are dying or suffering while brandishing a deranged smile. Fuuko understandably looks at this behavior with disdain, but can do nothing lest she squanders her friends' efforts.
  • We finally see what happens to a loop after Ragnarok and it goes to show exactly how seemingly futile stopping it would be. After using nearly everything aside from Fuuko holding off a single Sun body, countless more emerge from the actual star itself and after wreaking havoc the planet gets obliterated by colliding with it. Also qualifies as a Tearjerker due to all of the efforts of the negators and the deaths of everyone on the planet.
  • Luna's nonchalant attitude describing everything causes Fuuko to become furious on another level compared to any other time in the series. She swears to negate the gods as a result.
  • A bit of Fridge Horror, but Chapter 133 implies that the artifact Heart is key to beating the Gods. However, as Fuuko analyzes, Juiz and Victor never found it despite 100 loops totaling billions of years with even other artifact memories lacking any information about it. She comes to the conclusion that Heart only appears in the final loop on a later quest. This implies that whomever created the quest system intentionally made things Unwinnable by Design outside of someone failing up until the 101st loop.
  • While her new understanding of Fuuko's powers lead to an CMOA against UMA Heat, the implications are quite frightening. Now she gives Unluck to any objects and tools she is fond of as well, meaning that the moment she loses contact with anything she remotely likes, it will draw massive Unluck to those objects. This combined with her powers now being stronger means she is a potential Walking Disaster Area.
    • It has also gotten stronger as she only needs the slightest contact to unleash the same dose of Unluck that previously was seen when she touched Andy for their combined attack Unluck Bullet or Latla while trying to escape Kain. Both of which she had a better relationship with than the unlucky recipient 101st loop Feng. (Although she's trying to save him too.)
    • Further cementing this is Nostalgia Bullet. If she has a strong attachment to something, touches it, and someone comes into contact with it, the Unluck transfers to them.... except on a large scale, and the first time she uses it by accident, it destroys an entire island.
    • The Sick fight reveals that Fuuko's hair, while normally only giving minor strokes of Unluck when attached to her head, will have similar properties to her Bad Bullets once it's cut and because of being a part of her body, means it has a higher concentration of Unluck. When Sick's attack cuts off a lock of her hair and it touches Rip, it summons a meteorite, which is among her highest levels of Unluck, and only Andy's clone's intervention prevents a guarantee disaster.
  • The reveal that the quests are Random Encounters also has quite a bit of Fridge Horror associated with it. Many familiar UMA are seen as goals or penalties, which include potential world-enders like Summer of the four season UMA. It's no wonder we see different combinations of negators in the artifact visions fighting Spoil, who is implied to have killed members of the Union multiple times. Juiz may have gotten dealt a bad hand from the quests.
  • As is the case with The Mafia, various governments are also getting into the Archaeological Arms Race to obtain artifacts at whatever the cost, even it involves sending countless soldiers to the slaughter.
    • It was already bad enough when we saw Creed's leaders leave him for dead after sending him on a suicide mission, but then we learn Phil's Backstory where he was born in space as part of an experiment. Furthermore, the scene involving his mother reveals UMA attacking the station meaning that the experiment likely has ulterior motives.
  • Unlike the previous people Fuuko has recruited, Phil in this loop starts off worse than his previous counterpart. Having contracted a deadly disease, his mother replaced the majority of his body with robotics. All of Fuuko's previous efforts in the 101st loop were her trying to Set Right What Once Went Wrong, but this serves as a wake up call that not everything will go well this time.
  • The threat to the space station is yet another complete unknown. Initially, we are shown the spaceship controls acting without being piloted by Nico to correct the angle for connection to the space station. But then comes the reveal that the UMA, aliens, or whatever the threat is, Fuuko has no knowledge of it either through artifacts, experience, or her conversations with Juiz.
    • After the initial contact with the unknown organisms, it is revealed that these are aliens, likely a consequence of UMA Galaxy. Each of them exhibits a remarkable resilience to the weapons and offensive abilities while being attracted to anyone who is riled up with emotion. While previous UMA being allowed to roam free had effects that were unseen or even beneficial, this encounter is the first direct consequence of Galaxy already being in place. This is later revealed to be a consequence of the loop 100, as the world started with space and alien life.
  • The reveal of UMA Sick and the master rules. With each failure, rules are set in place after Ragnarok that will never disappear and the 10 chosen at the start are the strongest. Despite having a large team of negators, the Union is perilously close to losing during the entire Sick battle even when Rip joins.
  • After UMA Move intervenes to prevent UMA Sick from having his core taken, we finally get more information as to why Andy hasn't appeared up until now despite centuries of the Union searching for him. Simply put, he's likely trapped somewhere he is unable to intervene outside of the "normal" world and at least according to Move, he won't be able to appear anymore after the battle against Sick. Then the flip side of the world is introduced with a round table mirroring that of the Union with a total of 10 seats of master rules.
  • Knowing the threat the negators possess if they manage to rally their forces, we start to see UMAs actively target potential negators before they awaken (Julia) and active negators who know information that threaten them. (Ichico) The latter is noteworthy because a master rule is targeting Ichico and has invaded the Union base while suppressing the world from being able to talk.
