This is the character sheet from the fanfiction series Stealing Harry

Unmarked Spoilers! ahead.

Harry Potter

Like in the original series, Harry is the main protagonist of the story. He begins the story as a scrawny 8-year-old boy living with his abusive aunt and uncle. Harry befriends Sirius and Remus, who kidnap him from the Dursleys and decide to raise him on their own. He lives a much happier life with his new parental figures, although he's still in constant danger from Voldemort's followers. At Hogwarts, Harry is Sorted into Slytherin and forms a group with Neville, Draco, and Padma.

  • Affectionate Nickname: Sirius calls him "Pup".
  • A Dog Named "Dog": Harry has a stuffed frog named Frog, but also has two pet snakes named Snake. Since Harry can talk to snakes, he can confirm that snakes don't have names.
  • Badass Bookworm: Having been raised by Remus and Sirius, who run a bookstore, Harry develops a love for books. That doesn't stop Harry from jumping into action when his friends need help.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: He's dubbed 'Pipsqueak' by the older Hogwart students.
  • Boys Love Stuffed Animals: Harry has a stuffed frog named Frog that he carries around everywhere.
  • Guile Hero: While still a nice kid, Harry is much more willing to use trickery and manipulation to get his way. Fitting, since he's sorted into Slytherin in this continuity.
  • Happily Adopted: Although Harry isn't formally adopted by his two dads, he is much happier with Sirius and Remus.
  • Little Mister Badass: He's the one who saves Sirius, Remus and Snape from a super-empowered Peter using the Cruciatus Curse on all three of them at once by hitting him with a broken piece of gravestone.
  • The Prankster: Harry loves to prank people and usually tries to convince the others to join him.
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: Like Hermione in canon, Harry works out that Lupin is a werewolf without anyone telling him. He keeps this knowledge to himself, but eventually reveals that he knows Remus's secret a few chapters later.
  • Sssssnaketalk: As in canon, Harry is a Parseltongue.

Sirius Black

Sirius was not accused of murdering the Potters and sent to Azkaban in the Stealing Harryverse. Instead, he opens up a bookshop on Privet Drive and hires Remus to run it for him. He befriends an 8-year-old Harry as Padfoot and loans him books as Sirius. Sirius eventually takes his godson in after seeing how the Dursleys mistreated Harry.

  • Bad Ass Bookworm: Partly where Harry gets it from.
  • Big Friendly Dog: As Padfoot. Kids love him.
  • Berserk Button: His loved ones being hurt. Also, Severus Snape.
  • Good Parental Figure: Certainly a much better parental figure than the Dursleys were, at any rate. Sirius loves Harry dearly and is fiercely protective of his godson. Sirius later takes Draco under his wing as well.
  • Green-Eyed Epiphany: Realizes that he's in love with Remus after getting jealous of the "book collectors" that would often drop by the bookshop to see Remus.
  • Hot-Blooded: He's much more prone to losing his temper than Remus and is not shy about making his displeasure known.
  • If It's You, It's Okay: Sirius prefers women, but is in love with Remus.
  • No Indoor Voice: Sirius has a tendency to start shouting when especially displeased.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Red to Remus' Blue.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Anytime he's forced to work with Snape.

Remus Lupin

Remus is hired by Sirius to run the latter's bookshop after Sirius finds out that Remus was starving. Remus acts as a calmer influence on Harry, balancing Sirius' mischievous nature and acting as a voice of reason. He is in love with Sirius, but can't bring himself to confess his feelings to his friend.

  • Badass Bookworm: Also an influence on Harry.
  • Cool Teacher: When he's filling in as Defense Against the Dark Arts Teacher.
  • Dreaming of Times Gone By: Kind of. Remus has dreams about events from the canon series, usually when something bad is about to happen in his world.
  • Good Parental Figure: Like Sirius, Remus cares deeply for Harry and treats him kindly.
  • Good Thing You Can Heal: Thanks to his werewolf nature, Remus can heal much faster than your average wizard. Good thing too since he has a tendency to injure himself when transformed.
  • Made of Iron: He's highly resistant to most curses, starvation, and injury.
  • The Quiet One: He's not as outgoing as Sirius and tends to keep to himself.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Blue to Sirius' Red. Remus is not as given to outbursts of emotion as Sirius and usually remains calm in a crisis. However, when he does get angry...

Neville Longbottom

Neville's parents were tortured into insanity by Bellatrix Lestrange and his grandmother was murdered sometime after. Neville was going to be sent to his Uncle Algernon (the same guy who dropped Neville out of a window), but ends up living with Ted and Andromeda Tonks instead. He is Sorted into Gryffindor and becomes part of Harry's group of friends.

  • Happily Adopted: While not formally adopted by the Tonks, he's considered part of their family. Neville views Dora as a step-sister of sorts.
  • The Klutz: He's still forgetful and prone to accidents. He also gets easily distracted and tends to lose his belongings.
  • Leeroy Jenkins: He's not totally reckless, but is more likely to charge into a situation without a solid plan than the others. Fitting for a Gryffindor.
  • Shrinking Violet: When he first moves in with the Tonks. He gets more confident after living with them for a while.
  • Sleepy Head: Has a habit of sleeping in.
  • Took a Level in Cheerfulness: Neville is much more cheerful and outgoing than in canon. It's amazing how having supportive parental figures can boost one's self-esteem.

Padma Patil

Harry doesn't befriend Hermoine in SH, but meets Padma instead. Padma is an intelligent girl that is Sorted into Ravenclaw at Hogwarts. She joins Harry's group of friends and frequently gets caught up in their shenanigans.

  • Badass Bookworm: A given, being in Ravenclaw.
  • Demonic Possession: Padma acquires Tom Riddle's diary instead of Ginny, leading to her being possessed by a teenaged Voldemort.
  • Not So Above It All: Although she's the most likely to raise objections against any pranks or troublemaking, she will still participate in whatever's planned.
  • Polar Opposite Twins: Padma couldn't be more different from her twin sister, Parvati. While Padma is serious and studious, Parvati is outgoing and not as interested in books. This shows up during the Sorting, where Padma is Sorted into Ravenclaw and Parvati is Sorted into Gryffindor.
  • The Smart Guy: As a Ravenclaw, Padma is very intelligent and logical. She also tends to be a voice of reason for the group.

Draco Malfoy

Unlike his canon counterpart, Draco did not grow up under the influence of Lucius Malfoy. He spent most of his childhood hiding from Narcissa Malfoy and hanging out with the house elves. As a result, this Draco is much more shy and timid. He is Sorted into Hufflepuff and is a part of Harry's group.

  • Because You Were Nice to Me: The Malfoy house elves basically worship the ground he walks on. The Hogwarts elves also take a shine to him after hearing from the Malfoy elves.
  • Shrinking Violet
  • Took a Level in Kindness: As stated earlier, he's way shyer and quieter than his canon counterpart. He's also much nicer, especially to house elves.

Severus Snape

Snape is given the responsibility of teaching Harry of the Wizarding World. To that end, Snape brings Harry to Hogwarts, disguised as Snape's nephew "Parvus Rana". After spending time with Harry, Snape begins to care for Harry and takes it upon himself to look out for the boy.

  • Important Haircut: Sports a shorter haircut than in canon. He got the haircut when making a deal with Harry, who refused to get a haircut unless Snape did the same.
  • Odd Couple: With clumsy, cheerful Nymphadora Tonks. No, not joking.
  • Stern Teacher: The reason why Snape is so hard on his students is because he believes that students will be motivated to put more effort into their schoolwork to please a strict teacher than an easy-going teacher.
  • Took A Levelin Kindness: While still a grouch, Snape is nicer and more patient with Harry. He doesn't see Harry as an extension of James, but rather as a bright, inquisitive boy in need of proper instruction. He's still mean to his other students, though.
