Funny / Stealing Harry

Go To

  • Harry, upon discovering that Remus is a wizard:
“Are you from Narnia?” Harry asked, awed.
“No, Harry. I’m from Yorkshire,” Remus grinned.
  • Remus and Sirius's entire conversation after his first Change with Harry, from Remus's "Jesus Christ in stilettos" to his hugging Frog.
  • Sirius and Snape arguing in Chapter 8.
Down the stairs floated the muted sounds of Sirius and Severus having a really mighty row. Harry seemed unconcerned by it; Remus was going to leave them to it. Moody seemed to be positively enjoying it.
  • This exchange when Remus and Padfoot visit the Burrow:
"Is he a mutt, now, or purebred?" Arthur asked.
"Oh, very pure," Remus replied. Padfoot bit his ankle. "His mother was quite a fine bitch."
Padfoot lapped at the bite, apologetically.
  • Somehow the fight between Sirius and Snape manages to be this. Remus Lupin, who is also in the room, has a very Pass the Popcorn combined with Seen It All attitude to the whole thing. He gets them both to stop by conversing with an imaginary Harry about how immature they are both acting. Then carries on the conversation like nothing happened.
  • Their second fight takes place in Grimmauld Place's library. The books are enchanted to throw themselves at people if they speak above a certain volume. Not the best place to have a row.
"YOU KNEW?" Sirius roared, and a flock of books immediately flew out of the nearby shelves in attack formation. Harry squeaked and ducked, Remus tried to fend them off, and Snape stood very still, like a Zen master witnessing an avalanche of a very literary nature. When Sirius emerged from the melee, Snape raised his index finger to his lips and made a very soft shushing noise.
The shush may have been his death knell, except that Remus instinctively blocked Sirius from getting his fingers around Snape's throat.
Harry: (shows Remus a picture of a werewolf in his comic)
Remus: Oh, bloody hell. (is promptly attacked by five or six books)
  • Andromeda advises Sirius to read books for advice on his new relationship with Remus, and also to better explain it to Harry.
Sirius resolved to stop by the shop that afternoon and have a brief and instructional discussion with Remus about Books On This Sort Of Thing. Forget educating Harry — he needed an education of his own.
