Police

A group of police officers who have been called to investigate the murder.
    In General

  • Last-Name Basis: With the exception of Shinketsu, most characters use last names and appropriate professional titles on each other.
  • New Meat: Except for Shinketsu, none of the playable characters much experience.
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: The group consists of a rookie police officer who shows up half an hour late and seems unreliable, another rookie police officer who's rude and short-tempered, a forensic investigator with little field experience who's Afraid of Blood, and an experienced medical examiner with scar tattoos who likes giving nicknames to his colleagues.
  • Two Girls to a Team: Rei and Himatsu are female. The playable characters are a Gender-Equal Ensemble, but Nobuhiko tips the balance to three males and two females.

    Keiichi Genba

Keiichi Genba

A rookie police officer who's been assigned as the officer in charge of the case.
  • Blue with Shock: He often takes on this expression, often when Nobuhiko scares him.
  • Bring My Brown Pants: When Kikai evasively responds about the origin of his bloodstains, Genba complains that he doesn't need to "shit (his) pants" any more than he already has.
  • Butt-Monkey: Everyone tends to pick on Genba, from his making a poor first impression by showing up half an hour late to his various other quirks.
  • Contrasting Sequel Main Character: To Raiko. Raiko was an unemotional teenager and the Only Sane Man of her group who ended up being caught up in a murder mystery, and is generally the most mature of her group. Genba is a more emotional and eccentric adult police officer whose job it is to solve crimes, and can come off as irresponsible. The other Halloween party guests are at minimum acquaintances to Raiko, but Genba has never met most of the cast before.
  • First-Person Smartass: He's rather snarky in his thoughts, often thinking things he'd rather not share openly. Unfortunately, Shinketsu can apparently read his mind.
  • Hidden Depths: He was apparently a filmmaker in the past, as after deriding home-made movies as "cringeworthy schlock," he mentally notes, "I sadly learned that the hard way."
  • New Meat: He's worked on some minor cases before, but his limited track record and unreliable first impression cause his superiors to be wary of him.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • When trying to get his DPA's voice recognition program to work, he complains about Nobuhiko.
Keiichi: Huh, what's this? Oh NOW there is text appearing! Oh, wait, shit! How do I delete this?! Oh no. Oh no oh no oh no oh no! Fuck!!
Nobuhiko: Officer Genba, will you keep it down? What are you even doing there?
Keiichi: This can't be happening! This can't be fucking happening! I'm so scre-
    • He's overwhelmed by terror when Lex the bearded vulture perches on his shoulder.

    Nobuhiko Shinpuku

Nobuhiko Shinpuku

The police superintendent overseeing the case, and the only non-playable police character. He's also the uncle of Raiko Shinpuku of Shinrai: Broken Beyond Despair.
  • Blunt "No": He shuts Genba up with a laconic "No" when the latter asks about the case, prompting Genba to note that it's the fastest "no" he's ever gotten.
  • Coat Over the Shoulder: He wears his coat this way, hanging from his left thumb.
  • Da Chief: He's rather strict with Genba, and makes it obvious that Genba is on thin ice.
  • Death Glare: He's an intimidating man whose stare terrifies Genba.
  • Establishing Character Moment: He is first shown calling Genba out on being late.
  • Not a Game: A variant, when he says that Genba's DPA isn't a toy.

    Shinketsu Kikai

Shinketsu Kikai

A medical examiner. Unlike the others, he's experienced but difficult to work with.
  • Ambiguously Related: He has the same surname as Taiko from Shinrai, which probably isn't a coincidence considering that Nobuhiko is Raiko's uncle, but it's unclear how Shinketsu and Taiko are related.
  • Blunt "Yes": Does a "no means yes" variant to Keiichi.
Keiichi: (thinks) And you're not the slightest bit troubled by the fact that apparently, everyone seems to have the same reactions as me upon meeting you??
Shinketsu: (as if reading Keiichi's mind) Nope.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Unlike the others, he's proved himself but is also notoriously eccentric.
  • Captain Obvious: When Genba asks him about the victim, he says, "The victim is... dead. Almost as though they... died." Given the situation, he's clearly doing it to mess with Genba.
  • The Nicknamer: Calls Nobuhiko, his superior and a man seven years his senior, "Nobu-chan," and uses a variety of nicknames on Genba.
  • Signature Laugh: Chichichichi

    Rei Shirayuki
A forensic investigator in training.
  • Afraid of Blood: She dislikes blood and is rather uncomfortable about seeing the victim's body.
  • Bifauxnen: Her short white hair and flat chest makes it hard to tell whether she's a man or a woman.
  • New Meat: Like Genba and Mizu, Shirayuki doesn't have much practical experience despite being rather competent
  • Not So Above It All: Despite her serious demeanor, she copies Kikai when the latter calls Genba "Genba-sama." While "-sama" is usually the most respectful honorific, it's sometimes used in a sarcastic manner, as Shinketsu does in this case. She continues doing so until he insists on "Officer Genba."
  • Not So Stoic: She can't handle the sight of blood, which seems to be the only thing to provoke an emotional reaction from her.
  • Shrinking Violet: She doesn't speak much and dislikes social interaction.
  • The Stoic: She's serious, professional and the least emotional of the main cast.

    Himatsu Mizu

Himatsu Mizu

A police officer who works the case alongside Genba.
  • Action Girl: She successfully stopped an armed robbery with her hand-to-hand combat skills.
  • Blatant Lies: She calls herself "the beautiful and well-mannered young lady" from the seminar Genba attended. Genba remembers that Mizu picked a fight with the sergeant in charge when he asked her to pay attention.
  • The Gadfly: She enjoys teasing others.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: She's rather temperamental and quick to threaten people with violence.
  • New Meat: Like Genba, she's new, with barely a year of police work under her belt.

Raptor Pack Productions

A group of amateur filmmakers who live in the Kaseki Residence.

    Terano Takamori

Terano Takamori

The editor of the group, who plays Korut, chieftain of the Galyan Tribe, in the movie.

    Amber Harding

Amber Harding

Paleobotanist of the group, and the one who plays the lead role as Warrior Princess Mayana.

  • Affectionate Nickname: Shiku calls her "Kohaku-chan," which is the Japanese word for "amber."
  • Catchphrase: "Good gracious Cretaceous."
  • Grade Skipper: She already has a university degree at the age of 21.
  • Meaningful Name: Her name references what some mosquitos are encased in, and is rather fitting for a paleobotanist.
  • Pungeon Master: She cracks a lot of puns at the end of the demo.

    Shiku Jura

Shiku Jura

An artistic ace for the group.

    Ryuunosuke Hazama

The grandson of the late Professor Kaseki and owner of the mansion. He plays Dr. Wu.
