- The Power of Love: She is known as the Princess of Love and has the power to mend damaged relationships.
Starswirl the Bearded
A legendary unicorn who is one of the pillars of Equestria. He served as Flurry Heart's magic teacher, teaching her many powerful spells.
- Crazy-Prepared: In Dream of Alicornication he reveals that he created a Safeguard Bracelet specifically designed to protect the wearer from the Alicorn Amulet. He also designed its initial form to look shabby and rugged so that any greedy eyes wouldn't think of stealing it and underestimate the true power it possesses.
Polished Hooves
The principal of the Crystal Empire Magic Academy.
Starlight Glimmer
The headmare of the School of friendship.
Sunburst
The vice-principal of the School of Friendship and the childhood friend of Starlight Glimmer.
Spike
Twilight's number one assistant and royal adviser. After Flurry Heart is sent to live in Ponyville, Twilight tasks him with protecting her by being her personal bodyguard.
- Big Eater: Still has an affinity for gems. The Kid Six also let him have the last piece of pie in Apple Family Memories.
- Big Fun: Spike is tubbier, but he's still his easygoing self.
- Fat and Proud: Isn't ashamed of being overweight. He also doesn't mind it when the Kid Six and Storm Streak's younger siblings jump or sleep on his belly.
- Formerly Fit: Just like Pinkie Pie, he has put on weight from eating gems over the years.
Spirit of Harmony
The spirit of the Treehouse of Harmony.
- Dreaming of Things to Come: Sent visions through dreams to Twilight warning her of a new threat to Equestria.
King Scorpan
The ruler of the Midnight Kingdom and the brother of Tirek. In the past Scorpan and his brother went to Equestria to steal all of the magic for themselves. However Scorpan befriended the ponies and tried to convince Tirek to abandoned their plans. Tirek refused and left with no other choice, Scorpan informed the royal sisters of Tirek's plan and locked him in Tartarus for his crimes. Scorpan returned home and became the ruler of his people but deep down he regrets what he did to Tirek and hopes one day he can change his ways.
- Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: He can grow big enough to match Tirek's final form. A image
shows him growing huge, so huge that he dwarfs Tirek's final form in size. The reason for this is due to him absorbing Tirek's magic while Discord used the Staff of Sacanas to weaken him. - My Greatest Failure: Scorpan regrets having to imprison Tirek for his crimes against Equestria.
King Thorax
The benevolent ruler of the Changelings. Thorax became King after showing his people that they don't have starve by sharing love instead of stealing it. After learning of Chrysalis's escape, Thorax becomes worried that she's planning to attack Equestria again.
Carrot Cake and Cup Cake
The owners of the bakery Sugarcube Corner and the parents of Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake.
Cheese Sandwich
A party loving pony who travels across Equestria to give parties and laughter to anypony he meets.
- Shout-Out: His design is based on his voice actor Weird Al's current look.
Maud Pie
Pinkie Pie's older sister
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Maud is furious after being freed from her prison by the Changelings. Even Flurry is surprised to see her like this.
Lightning Flash and Misty Blitz
Storm Streak's little brother and sister.
Scootaloo
A member of the Cutie Mark Crusaders and Rainbow Dash's babysitter.
Spitfire
The captain of the wonderbolts.
Bowhoof and Windy Whistles
Rainbow Dash's parents.
Thunderhead
Rainbow Dash's husband.
- Big Damn Heroes: Thunderhead was present during the battle with the Legion of Doom as one of the pegasi who came to help the Mane Six during their time of need.
- For Happiness: When asked by Rainbow Dash what he wants to do with his life since he has no interest in becoming a Wonderbolt, Thunderhead responds he wants to live his life and be happy.
Tempest Shadow
A unicorn with a broken horn. She was a servant to the Storm King when he promised to restore her horn but Tempest later found out she was being used by him. After his defeat Tempest traveled all over Equestria to spread the news of the Storm King being defeated. She would later return to Canterlot and become the new captain of the Royal Guard at Twilight's request.
- Adaptational Badass: While already strong in canon, she's given a helmet with a crystal horn allowing her to use magic again.
Discord
A draconequss who is known as the lord of chaos.
- Berserk Button: He doesn't like being reminded of his past.
- The Dreaded: Other creatures know how powerful he is and will do just about anything to avoid his wrath.
- I Lied: He admits that he made up the Hourglass of Kronos to teach Stormy a lesson about growing up, and thus can change him back to normal himself.
Sunset Shimmer
A former student of Princess Celestia who fled in to another world after not being able to get what she wanted. Sunset eventually saw the error of her ways after being defeated by Twilight Sparkle and began to learn about friendship in the human world. After meeting her human counterpart Sunset decided to return to Equestria and is now a professor at the School for Gifted Unicorns.
- Noodle Incident: At some point she met her human counterpart.
Trixie
The Great and Powerful Trixie is a traveling stage magician who is known for being quite boastful. When not performing on stage, she serves as the guidance counselor for the School of Friendship.
- Continuity Nod: Her design is her babysitter outfit from the Gameloft game.
Iron Will
A loud boisterous minotaur who serves as a member of Villains Anonymous.
Tex
The son of Burnt Oak. An down-to-earth pony who loves adventure and challenges. He would met and fall in love with Applejack and helps her out at the farm by being both a husband and father.
- Curtains Match the Window: His eyes and mane are dark red.
- Mythology Gag: He is one of the Big Brother ponies of Generation 2.
Zecora
A zebra who lives in the Everfree forest and speaks only in rhyme.
- Rhymes on a Dime: She always speaks in rhyme which is more shocking to everyone when she speaks normally due to Cozy Glow taking her ability to rhyme.
Celestia and Luna
The Princesses of the Sun and Moon respectively and the former rulers of Equestria.
- Fun Size: Cozy Glow turned both of them into little fillies.
Somnambula
One of the pillars of Equestria who protected Equestria in the past.
- Costume Evolution: Somnambula now wears a new headdress, a new necklace, and has her tail tied up with several metal rings.
- Damsel in Distress: Anatankha captures her in the temple and holds her prisoner in a cage. Though luckily Stormy is able to find her and free her quickly.
- Head-Turning Beauty: She admits she tends to turn some stallions' heads, hence she understands when Stormy develops a Precocious Crush on her.
- Signature Headgear: Though she has replaced her old headdress from the canon series with a newer one, the old design is so popular and associated with her in-universe that a gift shop sells hats that resemble it. At the end of Let My Ponies Go! Stormy is upset he lost his hat during the adventure in the temple, so Somnambula cheers him up by giving him her newer headdress as a reward for being so brave. When she returns in The Perfect Storm Streak she is now wearing her old nemes headdress again.
King Vorak and Queen Haydon
The parents of Scorpan and Tirek and the original rulers of the Midnight Kingdom.
- Taken for Granite: At their request Scorpan turns both of them to stone so they hope they can be reunited with their son Tirek one day.
Nightshade
A highly popular music singer in Equestria.
- Broken Pedestal: He becomes this to both Flurry Heart and Pumpkin Cake after he goes back on his word to teach them music lessons. They are so heartbroken by his betrayal that they throw away all of their merchandise of him.
- Expy: Of Michael Jackson
His Elevated Eminence
A giant living mountain that protects the land of Northern Dracos and all the dragons who live within.
- Eye Beams: He can shoot powerful lasers from his eyes.
Buttercream
The twin sister of Spike.
- Big Fun:
- Fat and Proud: Like Spike, her brother.
Singe, Scorch and Barb
Three dragons who are siblings to both Spike and Buttercream.
- Mythology Gag: Singe has the same colors as Spike's G3 counterpart.
- Non-Mammal Mammaries: Barb has a prominent bust for a dragon.
King Smite and Queen Chara
The rulers of Nordo Dracos and the birth parents of Spike and Buttercream.
- Adipose Rex: Although not as round as Spike, Buttercream or Singe, King Smite is still overweight.
- Chubby Mama, Skinny Papa: Inverted. Smite is the chubby papa, and Chara is the skinny mama.
- Large and in Charge: Both figurately and literally. Spike's father is huge not just in weight but height too. He's so big he's taller than all of his family.
- Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: King Smite is the huge one while his wife Queen Chara is the tiny one.
- Non-Mammal Mammaries: Queen Chara is a dragon with an hourglass figure, including visible breasts.
Sludge
A fat, portly dragon who pretended to be Spike's dad to live a life of luxury in the Castle of Friendship.
- Easily Forgiven: Spike doesn't show any ill will towards Sludge for lying to him in the past.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Sludge feels ashamed of his actions and how he lied to Spike.
- Unstoppable Rage: In his Rage Mode, he lashes out at anything in sight.
Night Light and Twilight Velvet
The parents of Twilight Sparkle and Shining Armor.
Melody Heartsong
An up-and-coming music singer who is revealed to be Cozy Glow's birth mother.
- Parental Abandonment: Unable to provide for herself and her daughter, Melody left Cozy Glow at an orphanage which is something she would regret for the rest of her life. She would return years later to try to take back her daughter once she became more financially stable only to find out the orphanage she left Cozy at has shut down and Cozy herself was long gone.
- Parents as People: Melody tried to raise Cozy Glow on her own but struggled to earn money to support both of them.
Elytra
A Changeling that is part of an army sent to invade Ponyville on orders of Queen Chrysalis. Deep down Elytra wishes to change like Thorax's group and become friends with the ponies.
- Distaff Counterpart: Her story is basically the same as Thorax's. A Changeling who hates what her kind is doing to the ponies and desperately wishes to make friends with others.
- Earn Your Happy Ending: After helping stop the Dark Changelings, Elytra now lives with King Thorax and his Changelings.
- It's All My Fault: Elytra blames herself for not defecting from the hive when she had the chance, believing she could have stop Chrysalis's plan if she did.
Pinkie Pie Clones
A huge group of clones the original Pinkie Pie created a long time ago.
- Sealed Good in a Can: They remained trapped in the mirror pool for years after being sent there by Twilight. The original Pinkie Pie freed them to help fight the Dark Changelings.
Billow
- Living Weapon: Her axe contains the soul of Beo Tuag, a benevolent spirit who communicates with Billow.
- Only the Chosen May Wield: Billow's magic axe only allows those who she deems worthy to wield it.
Calida
A wyvern from a distant land and an old friend of Billow.
