Fancy Pants Man
For a stick figure, wearing pants at all is plenty fancy in its own right.
The main protagonist of the series. His adventures come into play when there will be problems that he must solve.
- The Ace: He's exceptionally good at running, jumping, sliding, rolling, wall jumping, and fighting. Plus, there's a reason why the Mayor always chooses him to save the day.
- Anime Hair: Fancy Pants Man's Spiky Hair.
- Art Evolution: Even for a stick figure, Fancy Pants Man has evolved significantly from his original incarnation.
- Badass and Child Duo: With Cutie Pants, his little sister.
- Badass Adorable: The most badass character in the series (that's him!) turns out to be a cute stick figure who just wants to save the day and protect his sister. It helps that Fancy Pants Man is a teenager as well.
- Badass Normal: As he wouldn't have a weapon until the third game, he plays this straight in the first two games.
- Big Brother Instinct: He is very protective of Cutie Pants, his little sister.
- Good Is Not Soft: Of course he is heroic, but he is also tough at punishing the bad guys.
- Guest Fighter: He is playable in Newgrounds Rumble, and an Assist Character in Fraymakers.
- Heroic Mime: Barring the "Ow!" he makes when hit by an enemy, he never speaks.
- Iconic Outfit: His fancy orange pants.
- Kid Hero: He's in his teens.
- Le Parkour: Not only can Fancy Pants Man wall-jump, perform backflips, and hop from platform to platform in the course of normal gameplay, World 2 has an area in level 5 where he runs continuously while completely upside down.
- Lightning Bruiser: Fancy Pants Man is incredibly agile and athletic. He can run complete loops and can use his momentum to increase speed to gain more height and/or distance normally unable to be reached. His abilities have progressed during his adventures ranging from back-flips, rolling, sliding, the wall jump, and the wall run.
- Muscles Are Meaningless: Despite being a stick figure, Fancy Pants Man is quite strong.
- Odd Friendship: In Newgrounds Rumble, his only ally is... Piconjo, an Ax-Crazy Troll who causes chaos and anarchy. Piconjo becomes his friend due to sympathizing with the plight of stick people, having been a stick person himself, and being disgusted by Pico and Nene luring him in to be killed.
- The Stoic: He's a Heroic Mime who does not reveal much about his own personality.
- Trademark Favorite Food: Ice cream. World 2 has him going after his ice cream, and Newgrounds Rumble has him lured to the Newgrounds world with the promise of ice cream.
- Winged Soul Flies Off at Death: Whenever Fancy Pants Man dies, his angelic soul with halo and wings will leave his lifeless body and ascend to heaven saying goodbye to his dead body. Remix and Super avert this though.
Cutie Pants
Fancy Pants' little sister.
- Damsel in Distress: She is kidnapped by pirates in World 3 who decide to make her their new captain over Rainbow Beard. She eventually grows to love it until she is attacked by ninjas.
- Promoted to Playable: Is playable in the World 1 remaster alongside her brother.
Antagonists
Angry Penguin
- Art Evolution: In the World 1 remaster, receiving pointy teeth and Big Ol' Eyebrows.
- Big Bad: Of World 1.
- Bullfight Boss: The Penguin acts more like a bull than a penguin as he charges at Fancy Pants.
Angry Bunny
- Big Bad: Of World 2.
- Evil Is Petty: There wasn't much of a reason for the Bunny to steal Fancy Pants's ice cream. He never even eats it. Meaning he stole it for no reason other than to provoke Fancy Pants.
Captain Rainbow Beard
- Big Bad: Of World 3.
- Enemy Mine: When Cutie Pants takes over his crew, he forms a temporary truce with Fancy Pants to fetch him some brown dye so that he can become a more serious pirate.
- Heel–Face Turn: Despite being the main antagonist of World 3, he switches sides in Super after Fancy Pants saves his crew.
- Took a Level in Badass: Upon becoming Brown Beard.
