(Updated version with new examples)

Seldom-Seen Species example for the Film-Animation

For the Kawaiiko page on Western Animation.

  • In Illumination Entertainment's Sing features a female group of red pandas that not only speak Japanese. But they are also fond of dancing and acting very cute.

(For the YMMV page for Sing.)

  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Since the first teaser of the movie came out. The female rabbit trio dancing and singing to Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda" had started gaining an interesting amount of attention and fanart despite only featured during a montage of various animals auditioning. They do return during the song Meena sings in the third act who can also be seen shaking there tails.
    • The Japanese red panda group are a recurring gag during the first two acts of the film. They are constantly seen dancing to J-Pop music and act very hyperactive to the point that they are the only animals from the audition that stuck around despite being eliminated. They do finally leave after accidentally mistaking the host of the theater calling them a swear by mispronouncing there names wrong. They do return during Meena's final song.

  • One-Scene Wonder: The rabbit trio that are seen dancing and shaking there behinds to Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda" are one of the more memorable animals during a montage of various animals auditioning. They show up one last time during the song sang by Meena.

Foreign Cuss Word for Western Animation page.

  • Illumination Entertainment's Sing. The female singing group of red pandas think that the current owner of the theater just insulted them since he mispronounces there names wrong. It's possible that they think they just swore at them.

Funny Foreigner:

  • Illumination Entertainment's Sing has a the Japanese girl group of red pandas that are mostly seen dancing or singing to J-Pop music and are hyperactive. At one point during their rehearsal backstage they mistake the owner's help by seeing his hand gestures mistaken as a new dance move.

(For the main page for Sing)

  • Girl Group: Two female only singing groups are spotted in the film. There's the female rabbit trio that are dancing to Nicki Minaji's "Anaconda"

    • There is are also a female singing group that features a total of 5 female Japanese red pandas that dance to various J-Pop music. They stick around much longer compared to the rabbits but decide to leave after the current owner of the theater accidentally insulted then by pronouncing there names wrong since they believe they insulted or swore at them.

  • Idol Singers: The female only group that are made entirely of red pandas are dressed in Idol Singer styled clothes and are seen dancing to J-Pop music and act as cute as possible.
  • Genki Girl: One of the characters that are auditioning are Japanese red pandas that dance to J Pop music. They are notable for being one of the only animals that stayed with the reaming animals that stayed for the rehearsal despite being eliminated by the owner of the theater. They are hyperactive and are mostly seen running over the place in some portions of the film.

  • J-Pop: Various J-Pop music can be heard from there Boombox when ever the red panda group starts rehearsing or dancing.

  • Bilingual Bonus: While the red panda girl group don't have that much dialogue. One of the members do speak a few lines but are easy to miss.

  • Seldom-Seen Species: Sing is one of the very few animated films who's main protagonist is a koala along with Blinky Bill
    • Red Pandas (Who are a girl group) are also spotted in this film. This along with the Kung Fu Panda are one of the more notable appearances of the species outside of Asian and Japanese media in American media.

I'm gonna add an In-Universe Developer's Foresight entry: [[folder:Western Animation]]

  • An In-Universe example happens in Codename: Kids Next Door during The Movie Operation: Z.E.R.O., as Monty Uno, who is Numbuh Zero, makes sure that the Recommisioning Module self-destructs when someone tries to recommision him to the KND the second time. Granted, he's already an adult and can no longer be a member of the KND anymore.

I want to add this to Amateur Surgeon YMMV Page, specifically regarding the Mystery Patient from AS2's status of That One Boss:

  • Surprisingly enough, Amateur Surgeon 4's version of the infamous stage avoids this status by having the flashlight's light reach a majority of the screen and just sway a little and occasionally flicker, making the stage much easier.

  • Since the first teaser of the movie came out. -> Who is this referring to? The rabbit trio you mention in the next sentence?
  • had started gaining -> had started gaining OR has gained (How to Write an Example - Write in Present Tense)
  • despite only featured during -> despite only being featured during
  • They do return...who can also be seen shaking there tails.
    • They do return...when they can be seen shaking their' tails.
  • They are constantly seen dancing to J Pop music and act -> acting
  • they are the only animals from the audition that stuck around -> stick around

They do return during the song Meena sings in the third act who can also be seen shaking there tails.

Does this have anything to do with them being an Ensemble Dark Horse? If not, it shouldn't be in the example.

  • The Japanese red panda group are a recurring gag during the first two acts of the film. They are constantly seen dancing to J Pop music and act very hyperactive to the point that they are the only animals from the audition that stuck around despite being eliminated. They do finally leave after accidentally mistaking the host of the theater calling them a swear by mispronouncing there names wrong. They do return during Meena's final song.

In order to be an Ensemble Dark Horse, character(s) must become popular with the audience. This example says nothing about their popularity, so it is Not An Example. It also violates Example Indentation.

  • shaking there behinds -> shaking their behinds
  • Nicki Minaj's -> Nicki Minaj's
  • during the song sang by Meena. -> during the song sung by Meena.

  • just insulted them since he mispronounces there names wrong. ->
    • insulted them when he mispronounced their names wrong.

It's possible that they think they just swore at them.

Please read Examples Are Not Arguable. If you're not sure that an example fits a trope, you should assume that it doesn't, and don't add it.

  • has a the Japanese girl group -> has the Japanese girl group
  • At one point during their rehearsal backstage -> At one point during their rehearsal backstage,
  • they mistake the owner's help by seeing his hand gestures mistaken as a new dance move. ->
    • they misunderstand the owner's help by mistaking his hand gestures for a new dance move.

  • Two female only singing groups are spotted in the film. -> The film has two female-only singing groups.
  • There is are also -> There is also
  • features a total of 5 female -> features 5 female

They stick around much longer compared to the rabbits but decide to leave after the current owner of the theater accidentally insulted then by pronouncing there names wrong since they believe they insulted or swore at them.

Does this have anything to do with them being a Girl Group? If not, it should be deleted.

  • group that are made entirely of red pandas are -> group that is made entirely of red pandas is

  • One of the characters that are auditioning -> Some of the characters that are auditioning
  • one of the only animals -> some of the few animals
  • reaming animals -> remaining animals
  • running over the place -> running all over the place

  • Various J Pop music can be heard from there Boombox when ever ->
    • Various J Pop music songs can be heard coming from their boombox whenever
  • While the red panda girl group don't have that much dialogue. ->
    • While the red panda girl group doesn't have that much dialogue,
  • One of the members do speak a few lines but are easy to miss. ->
    • One of the members does speak a few lines but they are easy to miss.

  • Sing is one of the very few animated films who's main protagonist is a koala along with Blinky Bill ->
    • Along with Blinky Bill, Sing is one of the few animated films whose main protagonist is a koala.
  • Red Pandas (Who are a girl group) -> A Girl Group of red pandas
  • This along with the Kung Fu Panda are one -> This, along with Kung Fu Panda, are two'
  • outside of Asian and Japanese media in American media. -> Either:
    • outside of Asian and Japanese media OR
    • in American media.

The Seldom-Seen Species example violates Example Indentation. The koala example needs to be put on a separate line, the same as the panda example.

Here are the English errors I noticed.

  • dialled -> dialed
  • not helped with -> which is not helped by

Just like how she can get hit with Draco in Leather Pants, Symmetra can get hit with this trope as well when her alignment with Vishkar is dialled Up to Eleven, and gets her turned into someone just as bad as her corrupt co-workers (not helped with her innate 'undesirable' traits which are described in Draco in Leather Pants), to make Lucio's fight for freedom and hero credentials look even better, forgetting that she usually tried to subvert Vishkar's more brutal methods and protected those that she could from collateral damage whenever she's able.

This is also enforced with how Lucio's rebellion is considered 'hero material' by the Overwatch, meaning that the narrative likes to enforce that Vishkar is the obvious bad guys and made people think that Symmetra cannot be a heroic character and her opinions about people improvement have no meaning as long as she works for or attempts to expand Vishkar.

These two sentences are too long and need to be split up into smaller sentences.

I don't see any problems with your post's English.

However, on Averted Trope it says "Aversions should ALMOST NEVER be listed on trope pages.", so your example is probably improper.

They are only appropriate for Omnipresent Tropes and "Aversions only" tropes.

I have two entries for the Characters.Sentinels Of The Multiverse page. First, this trope is for Tachyon's section of the page.

  • Fragile Speedster: Tachyon can often play extra cards during her turn and dish out a large amount of damage once she is set up, but her only ways to defend herself without support from her teammates are Synaptic Response (which only works if she is dealt three or more damage from a single source, and destroys itself after use) and Hypersonic Assault (which prevents anyone dealt damage by it from dealing damage for a turn, but as it only does one damage, any form of damage reduction or negation will negate the effect).

This is for Friction, in the Vengeful Five section:

Very well, let me see on the fix of Ron the Death Eater:

I ended up having to cut things out. How does it go? I feel that I needed to explain the Noble Top Enforcer part in order to make people know why she fits the Ron the Death Eater part (having their heroic, better traits glossed). Still, it could use more help. About the two sentences, does this mean I have to use multiple bullet point tree?

This isn't an English correction, but I would personally break this up into two sentences to make it easier to read.

Just like how she can get hit with Draco in Leather Pants due to her less positive traits, Symmetra can get hit with this trope as well, with her turned into someone just as bad as her corrupt co-workers from Vishkar to make Lucio's fight for freedom and hero credentials look even better, forgetting how unlike other Vishkar employers, she has an aversion of unnecessary killing and is doubting if their methods are wholly good overall.

I'd break this up into two sentences, like so:

I'm going to add an Ensemble Dark Horse and The Scrappy (If they are considered one in real life) entries for Sing:

  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Ray, the snail who sings Ride Like The Wind by Christopher Cross. Even some detractors of the movie think that the snail should be the winner or a main character.
  • The Scrappy: The bunnies who sing Anaconda by Nicki Minaj. This is notable from the fans of Zootopia, who hate them for giving Judy Hopps, who is of the same species, a bad name.

Hi, for some time ago I created a page for the Swedish band Kent. Now I was sent here because of a grammatical mistake on the Heartwarming page. There are a few lines on the Main page where I'm not entirely sure whether they are grammatically correct. I'd be very grateful if someone would take the time to proofread them! Thanks so much smile

  • Censored Title: A weird case. At least in the German music store, in a song title, the word "fick" is censored, making the title "Hur jag f*ck dig att älska mig". The thing is, in Swedish, "fick" only means the past form of the verb "to get". In German though, it means exactly that what it looks like...
  • Step Up to the Microphone: "Markus sång (Papin jahti)" is sung completely in Finnish by Markus Mustonen.
  • Translated Cover Version: There are both a Swedish and a English version existing of their albums Isola and Hagnesta Hill

Note that the second change is mainly a matter of taste. The original sentence was technically legal English but was awkwardly worded and sounded odd.

I would write this as "the opening of the NES version of Mario Is Missing!" to avoid confusion.

  • the latter is gotten inside from the bottom of the bag as if there's a hole at the bottom.

I don't understand what you're trying to say here, so I can't tell you how it should be re-written.

Is Mario pulled inside the bag? Once inside the bag, is he pulled out of it through the bottom to another place?
