Battle Royale is a game within the Save The World universe.

  • Think about it, after the end of the world, when people are trapped within a massive shelter to keep them safe from the horrors outside, what else are people going to do? Why play video games, of course! Someone designed a simple multiplayer deathmatch game with the various characters being modeled after the heroes of homebase, and with a deadly storm people fighting have to avoid.

  • The reason why there are "seasons" in Fortnite Battle Royale is because it quickly became a hit within Homebase and the creator decided to keep working on content for the game in order to make sure people remained occupied and happy.

I mean look, our wishes for the Marvel, DC and Star Wars Universes to cross over finally happened like twice, so why not add SNK into the mix, since they love to make Dream Match Game(s) of their own.

The Vault from Season 8 is an Eridian Vault.
Think about it: it leads to another dimension (the Loot Vault), its opening awakened a massive monster (the Polar Peak Monster), and the explosion from the orb it created literally brought Pandora into the game!

Fortnite and the upcoming Core system (and games created with it) are all a part of a connected multiverse.

Judging from the Core Early Access trailer, it talks about there being a multiverse. And Fortnite certainly has had its share of multiverse action with various different characters from various franchises showing up in the game. And given how the current art-style of the Core system from the trailer, it certainly suggests the same type of art-style, and that there may be a future where it's revealed that Fortnite and Core are tied into one another.
