Ren Taira

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rensketch_4.jpg
Ren, tired.
Arcana: I - The Magician
Persona: Aesop
Played by: Wagoo

"I recall the last time I got in your way, I was the one who made you move and spared you what was to come. Must I do so again?"

Ren Taira was supposed to be a first year who'd just moved to a new town from Okinawa and was about to embark on his first year of high school. Unfortunately, he didn't do well in exams and was placed in Reitaku. He really didn't want to leave Okinawa, and was rather quiet and shy due to this at first. Then the Butterfly guided him into the Ruins, and he found himself in a massive mess.

Since then, Ren wanted nothing to do with the events in Nagashima, but the reveal of the one year deadline until the end of the world has inspired him to find a solution to the problem before it's too late. His attempts have been... controversial, to say the least, and have done more harm to him than to actually learning anything, but he has learned things.

Some of which have been very, very unpleasent.

  • Action Survivor: Ren is certainly still in this category, preferably using the magic of his Persona and his revolver to fight from a distance while still being able to keep moving. The crowbar is more a tool than a melee weapon mostly.
  • Aesop Amnesia: Ren still hasn't had it stick that not only endless exploration of the Ruins will get him anywhere, but he doesn't quite comprehend that it will take everyone to solve it, not just himself and whoever he can get to help him.
  • Alternate Identity Amnesia / Demonic Possession: Depending on the nature of the Passenger who took up residence inside in Ren after his submerging in the Primordial Sea. It's almost certainly the reason Scanner Personas register him as wrong in some form.
  • Atomic Superpower: Knows the Frei line of skills, and they often take the form of some sort of explosion. Why shoot one of them when you can blow all of their feet off?
  • Beware the Quiet Ones: From a kid who'd rather just write poetry, to a User who makes the lives of Bedlam a constant headache.
  • Blow You Away: Knows the Garu line of spells. He primarily uses it for movement instead of attacks, jumping out of the way far and wide.
  • The Bard: He's a poet at heart. Sometimes, he'll even go and accidentally make a rhyme or haiku without even noticing, and at school and in the Park he can be found writing something when not dealing with Persona-related problems.
  • Character Tics: Ren sighs. A lot.
  • Cowardly Lion: Ren embodies being scared while doing things you're scared of. For months, he went and refused to enter the Ruins because of how terrified he was of the place... until he vowed to learn how to stop the end. Now, he has to deal with Shadows and Tableaux multiple times a week.
  • Crowbar Combatant: While he doesn't use it for attacking much, Ren carries one on him for when he absolutely must fight in melee. Still though, it's better for prying doors open and smashing boxes than anything else.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Ren, Yuki, and Jin's attempt against Salome did not go well. Salome smacked Ren's face so hard she broke his jaw in the process.
Hitomi Tano: You got knocked the fuck out!
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: Downplayed in that Ren was never all that icy to begin with, but with his coming to interact with his fellow Users, he's certainly become a lot more sociable and more comfortable with groups, to the point of putting together and leading expeditions into the Ruins.
  • Determinator: Saving a classmate from a controlling Persona? Fighting a Velvet Room Attendant? Forcing a dialogue with the Entity? Making Ruins Tableaux conform to show him past events? Whether it's a success or not, Ren refuses to stop it until it has been brought to its conclusion, for better or worse.
  • Determined Defeatist: Takes this attitude towards the chances of the main body of Persona Users defeating the Entity.
  • Dumb, but Diligent: He's not the best student, but does his best to be okay in school, and have you read what this kid will do when he puts his mind to it?
  • Eating Lunch Alone: More often than not, Ren tries to do this at school on the roof. Naturally, it doesn't tend to work out.
  • Eye Take: When it's not his mouth hanging open or sighing, Ren's eyes will go wide with fear and worry.
  • Funetik Aksent: Early on, Ren had to go out of his way not to have his Okinawa-ban be too thick, and when he failed, it was rendred this way. Has lessened over time due to him practicing his speech with more people and his author getting tired of doing it.
  • Geek Physiques: A very underweight fellow, and prefers to be deep in his notebook than most other things.
  • Grass is Greener: He certainly believes Okinawa is this to Nagashima, but considering Nagashima, that's arguably understandable.
  • Great Big Book of Everything: The Jittai no Sho, aka the Book of Knowledge. Ren's notebook was originally meant for poetry, but over time, it has transformed into a deep depository of information from Bedlam about the Ruins along with his own discoveries. It's a mess, and he plans to make a second edition that is cleaner and has room for more notes.
  • Hero with an F in Good: Everyone certainly thinks so. He is the Phrase Catcher for 'Ren Fucked Up' for a reason.
  • Hormone-Addled Teenager: in the grand tradition of the Magician Arcana in Persona, Ren has a weakness for girls. A girl being nice to him is the quickest way to leave him embarrassed and blushing, to the point where he pauses fighting a Shadow because she looks too much like a cute girl. Unfortunately, most of the girls he meets tend to be... well, they tend to be a little off.
  • Humans Are Flawed: Believes this is what will cause the Users to fail, while being very much an example himself. For all his attempts to learn and solve the mystery of how to save the world, he really is not the best for the job.
  • Idiot Hero: He has made some bad judgments, and no one is going to forget them.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: Ren really does not like being a User, but he's got no choice in the matter.
  • Literal Transformative Experience: Very nearly happens to Ren when he submerges himself in the Primordial Sea. 'Digested' was how the experience was described, and if not for the will of the Entity, he'd have dissolved into a Shadow. Since then, he's thought about how his attempts to get a dialogue going have turned out, and has now moved on to more information gathering since instead of another attempt at diplomacy.
  • Mind over Matter: Wields the Psi line of skills. It takes the form of either Professor-X style psychic powers, or Frickin' Laser Beams.
  • Misery Trigger: Calling Ren's attempt at dialogue with the Entity an attempt to join a cult. He will insist it was not that at all, and lose his composure rapidly.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: His swim in the Primordial Sea was what allowed the Entity to revive Aimi Hasegawa as Aimicchi, as well as giving the Passenger a host.
  • Oh, Crap!: His typical response to something going wrong.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: When Ren isn't acting panicky, something very important is happening, ranging from attempting to get two rivals to calm down to Demonic Possession.
  • Once Done, Never Forgotten: No one will forget Ren's pitiful attempt to fight Salome. No one will forget his first attempt at a dialogue with the Entity and needing to be rescued. No one will forget when he successfully reached the Entity. Ren tends to do things that makes him stick out a ton in the rest of the Persona User community, and it's gotten to the point where he has largely minimized his presence on Bedlam because of it.
  • Our Mages Are Different: While Persona Users are Lottery Winners, Ren treats it combined with an Artist, regularly stretching how his abilities are used to get more mileage out of them. He's even at one point said what would come across as a magic spell in other circumstances to get a desired effect.
  • Painful Rhyme: He may be a Poet, but he doesn't get it right all the time.
  • Parents as People: While Ren's parents do care for him, they've made some questionable decisions, including putting a tracker on his phone when they suspected he was up to something they didn't know, and threatening to call the police on the entirety of Bedlam. They clearly aren't well-equipped to deal with the supernatural side of Nagashima, and have all but given up when it comes to that side of their son.
  • Pastimes Prove Personality: His Poetry shows his thoughtful, quiet, inquisitive side. His Ruins adventures show his stubborn refusal to give up.
  • Phrase Catcher: Out-of-universe, authors will generally state "Ren Fucked Up" whenever Ren goes and does something that endangers himself.
  • Rapid-Fire "No!": When it's not an Oh, Crap!, it's usually this.
  • Reluctant Warrior: Ren really does not like being a User and diving deep into the Ruins. Alas, he feel as if he doesn't have a choice.
  • Revolvers Are Just Better: When it's not magic, Ren wields a Type 26 Revolver he obtained from the Velvet Room before getting kicked out courtesy of his submerging in the Primordial Sea. It holds six shots, and once per day will generate a reload if he does not have one. His gun safety still needs work, however.
  • Rhymes on a Dime: Will sometimes do this, but not always.
  • Seeker Archetype: Finding knowledge, out of touch with his fellow Users, and questing for information. Ren fits the bill.
  • Sheathe Your Sword: Subverted. He'd rather use words to solve conflict instead of violence. Unfortunately, this has failed him at pretty much every turn.
  • Shrinking Violet: Used to be this. Has noticeably been downplayed as he interacts with more and more people.
  • Southpaw Advantage: Is noticeably left handed, and switches his crowbar and revolver between hands to put them in his dominant.
  • Tarot Motifs: The Magician, both Upright and Reversed. While Ren has manifested resourcefulness, power, and inspired action in his quest to learn, he is also a poor planner, tends to have to manipulate others (unknowingly or otherwise) to get them to cooperate.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: With Treo Ashdown.
  • Thinking Tic: Ren tends to put his left hand under his chin when he thinks hard on something.
  • Too Dumb to Live: As it turns out, forcing the Entity to speak with you means that you'll just get submerged in the Primordial Sea, nearly get turned into a Shadow, and partial Demonic Possession. Ren Fucked Up.
  • Troubled Fetal Position: When alone at home, he tends to get into this pose whenever things get too overwhelming for him.
  • The Unapologetic: He won't say sorry for completing his quests. Messing up and causing problems for others, sure, but what and why will never get an apology
  • Unfit for Greatness: It will not be Ren to solve the mysteries of the Ruins. Alone, anyways.
  • Unlikely Hero: As in most things Persona. The meek kid writing in his notebook all the time trying to save the world? Yeah, right.
  • Visible Sigh: As mentioned earlier, Ren sighs. A lot.

Shinobu Hattori

Arcana: VIII - Justice
Persona: Ned Kelly
Played by: Nonsequitur

"I'll make a goddamned canoe out of your skull!"

Usually a pleasant individual, Shinobu is someone who hides a lot of inner anger and aggression. His cheeriness isn't a facade, but he's generally somewhat quick to anger and can prove to be quite combative when the time arises. His family lives in crippling debt, and he works hard at an airsoft and military surplus shop called "Double Action" in the hopes to one day make ends meet.

  • Beware the Nice Ones: A fairly kind individual... unless you're on his bad side.
  • Nice Guy: Actually fairly pleasant when his anger isn't showing. Worth noting his interactions with Mami and Kameko feature him being downright adorable.
  • Official Couple: With Mami Arai.
  • Shout-Out: His quote above, said while fighting Shadows, is a reference to Tombstone. Makes sense, since those are the sort of movies Shinobu likes.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: He's pretty casual with the swearing.

    Year 2 Students

Aila Campbell

Arcana: VII - The Chariot
Persona: Medb
Played by: Super Dog Coin

"I'm going to walk away. If y'all don't want trouble, you'll let me."

A rough-around-the-edges girl at Reitaku with a naturally blunt and aggressive demeanor. While not an active bully, she's generally a rude person who's out for herself and has little care for her academics. She's a trouble seeker who can have difficulty getting along with others, even if there are some bits of goodness buried down within her; her rebellious nature often puts her at odds with others.

  • Attention Whore: Part of the reason she acts out so much is because it makes people pay attention to her; this stems from an incident in third grade where she got into a fight.
  • Brave Scot: She's a Scottish individual with a very brave and forward nature.
  • Hidden Depths: Despite her lack of care in academics, she seems to score much better in history classes, likely due to her father being an anthropologist.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: There are occasional hints that she's nicer than she appears, despite her outward roughness.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: She's never been trained in fighting but is more than able to hold her own, even without her Persona.

Junji Yamano

Arcana: XVI - The Tower
Persona: Fenrir
Played by: Espi

"Whatever. I don't need to hear it from you."

Junji is a fairly surly and blunt student who has difficulty getting along with others. While not a bad person, he's somewhat rude and irritable, with a strong sense of independence that often causes him to clash with others. Despite being mean, he can be surprisingly kind to others who treat him well, and is far more intelligent than he lets on - his sharpness primarily stems from insecurities about being judged.

  • Book Dumb: Junji's not very good academically, but he's a quick thinker with good intuition.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Has a distinct sarcastic streak to him.
  • Ineffectual Loner: Despite being a loner, he works best as a team fighter - especially against Qlippoths, which are biased against physical users.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He seems pretty mean, but he can actually be nice to others.
  • Lightning Bruiser: He's decently fast thanks to his soccer training, and can dish out strong physical hits and take a few good hits.
  • Morality Chain: What kept Junji's fights from going too far with his parents (and what they ultimately capitalized on to try to improve their relationship with him) was him adopting a dog named Sun, whom he cares for very dearly.
  • Perpetual Frowner: Junji rarely smiles.
  • Shock and Awe: Fenrir specializes in the Zio spell line.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Pretty much every other post with him has a swear word in it.

Sakiko Kitazawa

Arcana: IX - The Hermit
Persona: Vasago
Played by: Icarael

Sumio Nagano

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sumio.png
Arcana: IX - The Hermit
Persona: Nergal
Played by: Shademaster

"I am Shinoyamai, the scourge of disease... and I shall help you however possible!"

A loud, overdramatic young man who believes he's the ultimate cure for diseases. Sumio is always ready to ham it up whenever possible, and is a major mood-swinger, seemingly extremely easy to set off. He just wants to make friends, but he's terrible at communicating with others and often ends up being insensitive, even when he's in a good mood and seeks to cure others of their "diseases" - which are often trivial things that don't qualify as a sickness. Tends to make impulsive and disastrous decisions.

  • Badass Longcoat: He wears a black trenchcoat. It's very impractical, but it does look good on him. If not absolutely absurd, since he combines it with a cloak, of all things.
  • Berserk Button:
    • He's a walking panel of these. The most prominent one is downplaying his abilities, which includes insulting his outfit.
    • An even worse one: do not harm Shiro. He drops any pretense of being loud and dramatic and ruthlessly takes down a Shadow that's menacing her as soon as she shows signs of being in danger.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Very loyal and protective of Anri Hayashida.
  • Break the Cutie: He's a silly dork... and his awakening involves him getting beaten so ruthlessly down that he ends up thinking he's a sham and realizes that nobody would really miss him if he died. Thankfully, he gets better.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: He's absolutely off the walls bonkers, but he's surprisingly good at treating illnesses, thanks to regularly studying them when his father took him to the hospital. He's also a fairly competent healer Persona-wise, and does well with a team of Persona users against two Qlippoths - threats way above his paygrade.
  • Butt-Monkey: Half of his threads are him being made fun of or dunked on. It gets really depressing after his awakening.
  • Chuunibyou: To a T. He even has a chuuni name.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Where to even begin?
  • Color Motif: Dark green.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Nergal primarily uses darkness spells as its method of offense, but while Sumio is somewhat rude and lacking in social skills, he's not a bad person at heart.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: If he's not in a good mood, the slightest offense can get him to freak out.
  • Heroic BSoD: Falls into a brief one during his awakening, when he realizes that no amount of boasting will protect him. Nergal shakes him out of it. However, his second one is in No Man's Land, when Ms. Gold nearly rips away his life, and he doesn't recover nearly as quickly from that one...
  • Hidden Depths:
    • He's actually a really good cook, surprisingly, and even enjoys making food for people he travels to the Ruins with. He also plays bass guitar.
    • When he really needs to, he can be pretty quiet and pleasant. See: him being the waiter for Anri and Aimi's one-month anniversary date.
    • Despite falling for Shiro due to her Chuunibyou nature, his feelings for her don't change at all when said nature vanishes after a particular Shadow attack hits her.
  • Innocently Insensitive: He has a habit of acting this way when it comes to pointing out people's "diseases", bluntly stating his perceived flaws to them without a second thought. He's not intending to be mean, though - he usually states these with the intent of informing them they can be fixed.
  • Insistent Terminology:
    • He's not Sumio Nagano, he's Shinoyamai!
    • His outfit is Outstanding Medical Gear, thank you very much!
  • Ironic Name: "Sumio" means "serene". He is most definitely not serene.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Sumio is loud, abrasive, and can get petty over the slightest things. However, ultimately, he's still someone who wants to help others overcome their flaws, is really just lonely and wants some people to be his friends, and wants to be a doctor when he grows up.
  • Large Ham: There's not a single thread where he isn't devouring the scenery whole. The one time he stops hamming it up is when having a nervous breakdown in his awakening. And even then, with a pep talk from Nergal, he's back to shouting. This is lampshaded many times in the narration.
  • Love at First Sight: One look at Kara and Shiro and he's head over heels.
  • Meaningful Name: "Shinoyamai" means "Deadly disease".
  • Mood-Swinger: While he's pretty much always shouting, he can go from smug to furious in an instant.
  • No Indoor Voice: Subverted. At first it seems like the only time he's capable of turning the volume down is when dehydrated, but he can be surprisingly quiet and pleasant if necessary.
  • No Social Skills: Bless his heart, he really tries, but he has no idea how to interact with people.
  • Poisonous Person: He sure thinks he's this. His Persona does have poison moves, though.
  • Red Baron: Shinoyamai. The Japanese word for "deadly disease". If that's not enough, he has a full title: Shinoyamai the Seventh, Harbinger of Disease, Wrath of Pestilence, Plague Patchwork, Qlippoth Slayer, and Big Bro.
  • Sadistic Choice: Formerly trapped in this: work with Ms. Gold to get information but sabotage his friends from the inside, or reveal everything to his friends at the risk of Ms. Gold finding out and breaking their trust?
  • Took a Level in Kindness: He's gotten a bit nicer after his stunts with Mana Kogane.
  • Trauma Conga Line: He's gone through hell and back, to say the least. His awakening was a disaster where he almost got turned into a Shadow and was convinced he had failed to protect his friends, and shortly after, just because he tries to help, he ends up as a mole (see Sadistic Choice). Things seem to finally be looking up for him, though.
  • Word Salad Title: His full title in Red Baron is like he just threw a bunch of cool-sounding words together. Which, knowing him, he probably did.

    Year 3 Students

Tokiko Ryuzaki

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tokiko_8.png
Arcana: XV - The Devil
Persona: The Colour
Played by: Shademaster

"Kiddo, if you want to get this close and personal... at least ask a lady her name first!"

A rather off-the-walls third year at Reitaku. Tokiko's outfit alone gives an impression of what she's really like, and it's usually accompanied by a crazy smile. She's flirtatious and has pretty much no sense of personal space, and is pretty much unapologetic in what she does; still, she has some positive qualities that make her worth hanging around, like her unwavering determination and her genuinely interesting hobbies.

  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: The people she's been legitimately attracted to (as much as she can be, anyway) include Touma, a total mess of a person who steals things; and Ren... after he got possessed by an Eldritch Abomination and started acting coldly ruthless.
  • Alpha Bitch: Zig-zagged; she's decently pretty and well-known around school, along with being a total Jerkass... but her popularity is not positive in the slightest. And yet, somehow, people still fall for her.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: She's attempting to change herself into this. It takes some practice, but she's attempting to be nice... so it's easier for her to have fun. She even purposefully almost got herself killed by a Shadow just so she had an excuse.
  • Boobs-and-Butt Pose: Her sprite has her striking this.
  • Cheshire Cat Grin: Bordering on Slasher Smile.
  • Color Motif: Pink.
  • Combat Stilettos: Fights surprisingly well in high heels.
  • Costume Porn: Her outfit is ridiculously over the top.
  • Determinator: Tokiko will reach her goals, no matter what.
  • Dominatrix: She's very... forceful, to say the least. She's stepped on people multiple times and is quick to seduce anyone she finds cute.
  • Eldritch Abomination: The Color certainly is; it's a terrifying meteorite thing that doesn't even speak, instead opting for songs or other odd sounds.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: She does not understand what enjoyment people could possibly get out of making friends.
  • Fan Disservice: She's actually very attractive... beneath her horridly colorful outfit and her psychopathy.
  • Faux Affably Evil: Her tone is almost always dripping with sweetness. This fools nobody.
  • Impossibly Tacky Clothes: Her primary outfit consists of a Halloween Shakespeare costume covered in glitter. It's described as bright enough to make people's eyes bleed, and apparently she made it like this deliberately out of spite when her parents tried to dissuade her.
  • In Love with Your Carnage: Develops significant infatuation with Ren after the Entity taint on him briefly causes him to go crazy in combat.
  • Kick Chick: Primarily fights with kicks and stomps. While in heels, too.
  • Laughably Evil: Tokiko is a massive bitch, but she's hilarious in how she goes about her mannerisms, and how unapologetic she is.
  • Manipulative Bitch: Big time; she uses her good looks and words to get people to do what she wants... assuming they get past the crazy part of her. The worst part is, she's getting better at faking empathy.
  • Perpetual Smiler: She pretty much never stops grinning, and her smile is a little too wide for comfort.
  • The Sociopath: Displays all of the traits of a psychopath: lack of empathy, poor impulse control, superficial charm, no ability to love, lack of remorse, need for stimulation, parasitic lifestyle, the list goes on. This is best displayed by a line from one of her threads where she's trying to act nice:
How the hell did people live like this? Socializing and hoping people would do what they wanted? It was unbearable.
  • The Tease: She's not afraid to use her body as a weapon.

Miya Alamar

Arcana: XX - Judgement
Persona: Sarasvati
Played by: Jonny

"You'll have to try harder to intimidate someone who looked death in the face and said No."

A student at an orphanage who survived a deadly fire; she's the daughter of the orphanage head, Rose Alamar, and helps her out there. Despite her rather tragic experiences, Miya is kind-hearted and gentle, often doting over others and putting on a front of a "big sister". She's very well put together and a mature individual, but a pushover she is not, and she hides a determined nature, a fiery temper, and some self-worth issues. She also happens to be a talented piano player, and enjoys some fame.

  • Beware the Nice Ones: Miya is one of the nicest people on Rebirth... and does not tolerate bullying, abuse, or Umeko. While she doesn't raise her voice all that often, she can get quite angry when push comes to shove. Not to mention her reaction to Aimicchi.
  • Cool Big Sis: She acts as a sisterly/motherly figure to most people younger than her.
  • Elegant Classical Musician: She's a prim and kind piano player.
  • Irony: The burn victim uses Agi spells as her main line of offense.
  • My Beloved Smother: A few characters get annoyed by her constant doting, most notably Yuki.
  • Nice Girl: Very sweet and compassionate.
  • Official Couple: With Tori; time will tell how long this lasts.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: When Miya's actually upset, you know something's wrong. Most notable examples have been through Umeko and in Mari's awakening, where she's actually been pissed off.
  • Playing with Fire: Amusingly, despite being a burn victim, she primarily uses Agi spells to fight.
  • Team Mom: Big time; her disposition is very motherly and she tries to take care of the other Persona users.
  • Tranquil Fury: Remarkably calm, even when chewing people out and being obviously pissed off.

Willis Tollemache

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/will_19.png
Arcana: VIII - Strength
Persona: Sobek
Played by: Shademaster

"You were willing to help someone you didn't even know... that's very kind of you."

An American fellow who's absolutely huge. Despite his intimidating appearance, Will is actually as gentle of a giant as they come, with a shy and almost dorky demeanor. Will has very little self-confidence and speaks with a stutter in Japanese due to his lack of belief in himself. However, he is dangerously protective of others and is more than willing to put his massive frame to use if he sees someone in danger.

  • Beware the Nice Ones: More obvious than most given his size, but Will has the sheer strength and finesse to back it up if someone actually goes too far.
  • The Big Guy: His most identifiable trait is his size.
  • Extreme Doormat: He himself is a big pushover... unless other people are getting hurt, in which case he becomes as immovable as they come.
  • Face of a Thug: Intimidating due to his size, but his personality is anything but frightening. Becomes more so when he has his mask on, which is a gladiator mask.
  • Gentle Giant: He is one of the most gentle people around.
  • Making a Splash: Sobek uses Water-typed skills.
  • Never Smile at a Crocodile: Sobek is, of course, a crocodile; while Will is a nice person, if you're on the receiving end of Sobek's jaws it's a bad sign.
  • Nice Guy: Will is a very kind-hearted person who cares about his family (even his somewhat abusive father) and is polite to everyone he meets.
  • Strong and Skilled: A naturally strong person due to his size. And he's a blue belt in aikido, too.
  • Stutter Stop: When speaking in English or when he's feeling more confident, his stutter goes away. Justified as his stutter isn't a speech impediment, but brought on by lack of confidence in his Japanese.

Yuki Harada

Arcana: VII - The Chariot
Persona: Musashi
Played by: Nonsequitur

A fairly reserved and blunt student with a tough demeanor. Yuki is an individual that's hard to get a read on because he rarely tends to talk, and has a habit of facing his problems head on. Despite his quiet nature, he does have hobbies and a sense of humor like anyone else - he just prefers not to show it, typically staying silent and sometimes cold in a way that can be offputting.

  • Beware the Quiet Ones: He's a fairly quiet person that could definitely kick anyone's ass and is a particularly strong Persona user to boot.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: He has a scar near his eye, but is ultimately a good person.
  • The Stoic: His defining trait, pretty much. He rarely shows any sort of emotion.
  • The Quiet One: He doesn't talk much, going hand in hand with his stoic nature.

    Reitaku Staff

Gendo Ikuhara

Arcana: IX - The Hermit
Persona: Chiron
Played by: Prince Arjuna

Gendo is the History teacher at Reitaku High School as well as the homeroom teacher of Class 3-C. Once upon a time, he was a spirited, enthusiastic teacher who wished to make use of his knowledge to teach his students, but after the death of his wife due to Hoculus in 2003, he became a changed man, as the death of his wife left him utterly devastated. He became an alcoholic to cope, and he experienced a burnout as a teacher, becoming apathetic to his students to the point that he never bothers to remember their names. He even neglected his daughter due to his despair.

Gendo's Persona is Chiron, the wise centaur who mentored many great heroes.

  • Apathetic Teacher: He doesn't care about his students at all, not even bothering to remember their names. In turn, no one among his students respect him, maybe except Miya.
  • Gonk: Downplayed, but due to the lack of self care as well as being a drunkard, Gendo looks quite unattractive, with saggy and wrinkly face that makes him ten years older than he actually is.
  • The Lost Lenore: Many years after her death, Gendo still mourns his wife.
  • Our Centaurs Are Different: Gendo's Persona is Chiron, the wise centaur who mentored many great and famous heroes. As a Persona, Chiron has a rather robotic appearance, and he carries a harp and an archery bow, with the harp being used to cast his spells while his bow used to inflict physical damage.
  • Parental Neglect: Gendo is still devastated by the death of his wife that he neglects his daughter, Haruka.
  • Shock and Awe: Through his Persona, Gendo can use Zio, a lightning/electricity spell.
