Saddle Arabia

    open/close all folders

    General
  • "Arabian Nights" Days: Has this vibe, with the mention of genies, flying carpets and magic during the First, Third and Fourth Ages. It is much more mundane during the Second Age.
  • Asshole Victim: While Saddle Arabia and much of the Near East suffered horribly under the tyranny of Alraghba Malaka, many have noted they had it coming for frequently indulging in their own vices at the expense of others, which led to Alraghba's rise in the first place. Even the Grand Primevals and their children agreed that the Saddle Arabians needed to be punished for their actions, which is why they didn't interfere or answer the prayers for help from both the Saddle Arabians and the Near Easterners during Alraghba's first reign/rampage.
  • Matriarchy: Of the "Patriarchy Flip" type. During and after the Second Age, in a 180-degree flip of its sexist patriarchal belief system from older days, Saddle Arabia became a matriarchy where mares dominated stallions and treated them as second-class citizens at best, voiceless property and sperm banks at worst. Understandably, the deities of the country were so horrified by this that they took great lengths to ensure social/cultural equality for both sexes. By the Fourth Age, Saddle Arabia has become an egalitarian society.
  • Soiled City on a Hill: There had been times Saddle Arabia and the Near East region had experienced eras of decadence and moral decline which led to the rise of many great evils, leading to dark times of calamity and suffering across the desert lands. This includes and especially applies to the dreaded sadistic divine genie tyrant Alraghba Malaka, the Sultanah of Wishes, whose reigns of terror often began by feeding upon the desires of the lands' inhabitants as they become increasingly selfish to gain power, until she become powerful enough to toy with nations and threaten even the local pantheons.

Saddle Arabian Pantheon(s)

    General
  • Fantasy Pantheon: There is at least one in Saddle Arabia, and many other pantheons exist in the Near East region as a whole.

Miah, the Maiden of the Water

Classification: Etheral/Elemental/Ascendant

Portfolio: Water, Fertility, Protection

Rank: Divine (Tier IV/Greater)

Miah, born 'Aghnia (her entry here), is the Alicorn goddess of Water, Fertility, and Protection, and is one of the most benevolent and kindhearted members of the Saddle Arabian Pantheon.

Rumansy Moufette, the Keeper of Tales

Classification: Ethereal

Portfolio: Fairytales, Romanticism, Love

Rank: Divine (Tier III/Intermediate)

Rumansy Moufette (his entry here) is the Mephalicorn god of Fairytales, Romanticism, and Love, and is son of Moufette through Marah Moufette, a mortal Saddle Arabian mare.

Sultana Sahra', the Mother of All Camels

Classification: Elemental/Ascendant

Portfolio: Exploration, Sand, Parental Deity (Camels)

Rank: Divine (Tier IV/Greater)

"Life is an adventure. So let's go exploring!"

Sultana Sahra', born Spunky (her entry here), is the Camel goddess of Enlightenment and Spirit, and, as her name suggests, is the "Parental Deity" of mortal Camelkind.
  • Adaptational Backstory Change: Unlike her MLP G1 "Ponyfriend" counterpart, she's depicted here as the first sapient Camel to ever exist, and she lived in Paradise Estate during the First Age as part of a group of friends who, like her, were born the first sapient creatures of their own respective races. She's also the reason why Camels exist as a race in Equus, being the one who uplifted them into sapience.
  • Adaptational Badass: In MLP canon, she was known as Spunky, a member of the G1 "Ponyfriends" toyline whose backstory depicts her as a lover of exploration. Here, she's reimagined as a bonafide Camel goddess who was born as Spunky in the First Age, but has since changed her name after Ascending to godhood under Mzazi/Zigzag's guidance. Among the powers she has are sand manipulation, magical navigation, and Camel-based racial magic, which is noted to be similar to Earth Pony magic.
  • Alliterative Name: Sultana Sahra'.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: She's a Camel goddess who embodies Exploration, Sand, and Camels; the last part is because she is their "Parental Deity".
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Because she loves exploring, she can sometimes get distracted by new sights as a result.
  • Canon Character All Along: She's actually Spunky the Camel, who was introduced as a member of the G1 "Ponyfriends" toyline. It's justified as she changed her name to reflect her transformation into a goddess.
  • Elemental Hair Composition: Post-Ascension, her mane and tail would be composed of flowing sand, which is fitting for a Sand goddess.
  • Elemental Shapeshifter: As a goddess of Sand, she can turn herself into sand at will to evade attacks or move around.
  • Ermine Cape Effect: Her usual attire is described as being that of Saddle Arabian royalty.
  • Interspecies Friendship: She befriended the younger Celestial Griffon goddess, Vehere, over a shared love for traveling and they frequently travel together.
  • Karmic Jackpot: When she was Spunky the mortal Camel, she befriended a mortal Zebra named Zigzag in Paradise Estate. Zigzag turned out to be the ancient Zebralicorn goddess Queen Mzazi, who incarnated herself as a mortal so she could keep herself in touch with mortal sapientkind. When Zigzag regained her memories and divine station as Mzazi, she would help Spunky and the other "Ponyfriends" Ascend to godhood, leading to them becoming what they are now.
  • Magic Hair: Her mane and tail are made of flowing sand, and her fur also has sand constantly flowing from it, yet the sand never hits the ground.
  • Magic Map: As a goddess of Exploration, she can create maps from magic alone. She often gives these maps to lost travelers so she can help them find their way.
  • The Magnificent: Known as "the Mother of All Camels", due to her role in giving mortal Camelkind its sapience and influencing her race into what it is today.
  • The Maker: She's responsible for creating mortal Camelkind. Once she Ascended to godhood under Queen Mzazi's tutelage, she would uplift the Camels by granting them sapience.
  • Meaningful Name:
    • Her birth name, Spunky, means "courageous" and "determined". She's energetic and curious, both as a mortal and as a goddess, and she's an avid explorer who used to explore Dream Valley with her friends.
    • Her divine name, Sultana Sahra, translates to "desert sultan" in Arabic. She's a goddess of Sand who possesses extreme versatality in sand magic, and she frequently travels the desert out of love for exploring and to help any lost traveler she comes across.
  • Mentor Archetype: After Ascending to godhood under Mzazi's tutelage, she would help the second generation of "Ponyfriends" (which included Marlu/Baby Hoppy of Meridia) Ascend to godhood themselves.
  • The Navigator: As a goddess of Exploration, she possesses an inherent homing instinct, preventing her from beocming lost no matter where she is, as well as a Photographic Memory concerning places she previously visited. She can also create Magic Maps from magic alone, which she gives to lost travelers as a form of aid.
  • Odd Job Gods: Her domain of Exploration doesn't seem like much, but it prevents her from getting lost no matter where she is, and she can create maps from magic alone, which is a very useful power to have for avid explorers like her. Her Photographic Memory also allows her to remember places she previously visited so she can go back to them whenever she wants.
  • Outdoorsy Gal: She's an energetic and curious goddess who loves to explore; even as a mortal Camel, she would explore Dream Valley with her friends. Despite having lived a long time, she still enjoys seeing new things she had never seen on Equus before, and she feels excited whenever someone discovering a new sight with awe and wonder. She also holds scavenger hunts for both mortals and gods in the form of structures she created herself, and protects any lost travelers she comes across.
  • Pals with Jesus: Justified. Many deities from the First Age, such as Arcaniss and Mzazi, were her friends when they were mortals. Her friendship with Mzazi allowed her to Ascend to godhood herself once her friend regained her memories and divine station, whereas Arcaniss Ascended through Luminiferous' tutelage.
  • Photographic Memory: As a goddess of Exploration, she possesses a photographic memory concerning places she previously visited.
  • Purple Is Powerful: She has a purple Pony-like mane and tail, and she's an ancient Camel goddess who was responsible for granting sapience to mortal Camelkind. It's also noted she's part of the 'first-generation' of Ponyfriends, making her older and more powerful than subsequent generation members like Marlu.
  • Sand Blaster: As a goddess of Sand, she has advanced sand-related magic, being able to generate and control sand to an incredible degree. She can turn the shifting desert sands to solid rock and back again, control it and shape it into weapons, objects, structures, and other uses. This includes creating giant tendrils of sand for combat, as well as blades and bludgeons. She can also turn the sand into glass, potentially for use as offensive weapons, and is capable of turning into sand at will to evade attacks or move around. The sheer versatility of her sand manipulation is such that enemies are kept at a distance and constantly guessing.
  • Scavenger Hunt: She often makes 'scavenger hunt' games for mortals and gods to play in the forms of structures she created hereslf.
  • Sinister Scimitar: Subverted. Her main combat weapon is a scimitar, but she's a benevolent goddess who loves exploring and creating Scavenger Hunts for mortals and gods to play.
  • The Smart Guy: Downplayed. While not intelligent like King Baarish and High King Kaldr, who are both gods of Wisdom, she's quite smart herself, especially when it comes to puzzles, traps, and riddles. Notably, she has often matched wits with the Sphinx Pantheon.
  • Weak, but Skilled: Her sand manipulation is noted to lack exceptional strength by divine standards, but it makes up for this by granting sheer versatility.

Other Notable Deities

Alraghba Malaka, the Sultanah of Wishes

Classification: Ascendant/Elemental/Ethereal, Devourer, Dark/Evil

Portfolio: Desire, Wishes, Genies, Fire, Air

Rank: Divine (Tier III/Intermediate)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cutie_mark_of_the_sultanah_of_wishes.png
The Cutie Mark of the Sultanah of Wishes, by her author Brutalityinc

"Grant me your greatest wish - and be undone by your selfish desires."

Sultanah Alraghba Malaka (her re-divided entries in four parts here and here, full Deities bio here) is a Genie Alicorn goddess of Desire, Wishes, Genies, Fire and Air who once terrorized the Near East.

A tormented soul who endured untold misery due to the sheer cruelty and depravity of those who exploited her and denied her wishes for their own selfish desires, she became a sadistic and vindictive genie tyrant goddess who finds amusement in twisting the selfish wishes of those who came to her or caught her attention and toying with whole lands and their people with her immense power, forever seeking more beings and their desires to toy with and consume, both to satiate her own desires, and to appease her bitter and broken heart.
  • Abstract Eater: Alraghba feeds upon the desires of others, using it to empower herself.
  • Ancient Evil: She was a sadistic divine genie tyrant who once terrorized Saddle Arabia and the Near East for many centuries before being sealed away.
  • And I Must Scream: The fate of many of those whose wishes she twisted in the most horrific ways possible, as well as most of those she eventually consumed to eternally feed on their desires and torment for her pleasure inside her.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: She's a Genie-Alicorn goddess who embodies Desires, Wishes, Genies, Fire and Air.
  • "Arabian Nights" Days: Alraghba is an evil genie goddess who once terrorised Saddle Arabia and the Near East, being closer to the more capricious, dangerous and unfettered Jinn portrayed in ancient Arabian tales than the more tamer and restricted genies we know today.
  • The Assimilator: She is known to doing this, feasting on and assimilating countless beings mind, body and soul into herself, drinking deep in their desires even as she toy with and torment them. She might have got that from emulating her second love Princep Lascivious of Malregnar and their family.
  • The Bad Guys Win: Implied. She was described to have terrorized Saddle Arabia and the Near East in many reigns of darkness spanning centuries, with the longest and worst one lasting millennia over almost the entirety of the region, long enough that hundreds of generations lived and died knowing little more than being her and her genies pets or playthings, to be toyed with and eventually devoured for their insatiable hedonistic desires.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: A genie goddess of it. Those who make a wish to her either directly to her or overheard by her could see them granted in the worst possible ways a Jackass Genie like her could do. If she even senses the slightest selfish intent behind them (and she has a VERY low threshold), the wishers are very liable to have her twist them to the wisher's utter detriment. Only the very few innocent or utterly selfless wishers could guarantee to have their wishes granted without her screwing them over out of vindictive amusement.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Although a sadistic tyrant, she is not completely without mercy, though it's usually restricted to those who were truly devoted to her and those very few who are sincerely selfless or truly innocent.
    • For those above, after she consumes them she either let them rest in peace in the heaven-realms installed inside her, or assimilate them into herself and share with them the pleasures she experiences from satiating her own desires for eternity. Those who fall short of those standards deserve little better in her eyes than being her and her genies playthings, deserving to suffer for being the selfish and cruel people they truly are deep down and would be toyed with or tormented for their power and pleasure forever inside them after she and her genies devour them mind, body and soul.
    • One of the reasons her mortal harem concubine self fell in love with her lost love Prince Hasra (and vice-versa) because both were the only people who treated each other with any compassion, dignity and respect as a person, while everypony else (especially those above their stations) treated them either little better than property and a pleasure toy because of their social status and gender, or little better than an ivory figure forced to comply with expectations, traditions and rules they dislike and being a pawn in the political machinations and power squabbles of others.
  • Becoming the Genie: Alraghba was once mortal, but had become a genie after devouring a Genie herself with the aid of a mysterious foreign sorcerer who took pity on her plight and decided to help her. When she ascended further to become a goddess she also had Genies (and Wishes) as part of her portfolio. She can also invoke this by transforming others into her own kind of genies, who often takes after her in becoming as beautiful, mighty, cruel and depraved as she is. One drabble has her doing this to a pair of starving fillies - whose parents she cursed into becoming food for wishing to feed and keep their daughters alive just long enough to sell them into slavery - after having them Happily Adopted and raised like her own daughters until they are old enough and proven worthy to be awarded immortality and power as her devoted genies by her.
  • Benevolent Boss: Implied. Her genies takes after her in their cruelty and depravity, but many if not most of them are noted to be genuinely loyal and devoted to her. The same applies to the daughters she's implied to have and not a few number of truly devoted mortal subjects. This is why despite being sealed away for ages her cultists, scions and genies are still running around looking for her lamp where she remains imprisoned to this day for the express purpose of setting her free.
  • Big Eater: She is known for consuming countless beings into herself, whether they made a wish to her or not, deriving both power from their desires and pleasure from their torment within her. Even those she does not harm - those truly devoted to her or caught her fancy and the very few who are so innocent and selfless even she wouldn't touch - are also devoured post-mortem so she could feed on their desires even as they share their mistress’s endless pleasure or rest in peace within the heaven-realms stationed inside her body.
    • It is casually implied she reigned over and devoured hundreds of generations of mortals from pretty much all of Saddle Arabia and the Near East during her longest and greatest reign of darkness, swallowing untold millions who knew nothing in life other than being her and her genies’ playthings over its millennia-long duration. While her record is still dwarfed by the likes of Giant deities, Eclaira, Iniquitous, Victorious Princess, Joyous Freedom, the Void Sovereign and others, that is still both impressive and terrifying.
  • Birds of a Feather: The reason she and Prince Hasra fell in love: Both of them were miserable in their respective stations and life and found comfort and compassion with each other. They would not have a happy ending together, unfortunately.
  • Blow You Away: She has air as one of her domains, keeping with Jinn's earlier portrayals as wish-granting elemental beings of 'Fire and Air'.
  • Break the Cutie: She was a charming and beautiful harem mare who won the heart of a prince whom she also fell in love with, but had her happy ending and desires cruelly denied and she herself broken in both heart and body in the process. Now she is a sadistic divine genie tyrant who likes nothing more than to break others for her own vindictive amusement by turning their own selfish wishes against them.
  • Caged Inside a Monster: The fate of all who are devoured by Alraghba or her daughters and genies after getting their wishes twisted, used as their playthings or otherwise within their dominions, living or dead. While many trapped within them would have their desires fed on and continued being toyed with for their power and pleasure, some who were truly devoted to them or were among the very few who are truly selfless or innocent instead gets eternal pleasure as a part of them or are allowed to rest in peace within heaven-realms inside Alraghba's form.
  • Corrupt the Cutie: On both the corrupted and corrupting ends.
    • Alraghba was once an innocent harem mare before the selfishness and cruelty of everyone and everything around her twisted her into a sadistic genie tyrant. A Greater-Scope Villain is also involved in the form of a mysterious foreign sorcerer (In reality a travelling Princep Lascivious in disguise) who took pity on her and taught her enough dark magic to reach one of the genies of her land in hopes of changing her abysmal fate, and then granted her her dark wish to become a genie herself when said Jackass Genie refused.
    • Alraghba is implied to do these with many of her own genies which she created from mortals, who are often described as having become as beautiful, mighty, cruel and desirous as she is (but nevertheless loyal to her). Best exemplified by that time she has two starving fillies Happily Adopted, having cursed their parents into becoming food they wished for and fed them alive to their children, and raised like her own daughters until they are old enough and proven worthy to be raised into her genies, who gleefully took over the eternal torture of their own birth parents from her after Alraghba told them their parents had originally planned to sell them into slavery (which led her to twist their wish and curse them in the first place).
  • The Dark Times: Her reigns of terror are among the worst of dark eras Saddle Arabia and the Near East endured in the Fourth Age. It is mentioned her longest and most successful reign more or less saw all of Saddle Arabia and most of the Near East effectively becoming her playpen, where hundreds of generations of mortals knew nothing more than being toyed with and eventually devoured by her and her daughters and genies. Even long after she was sealed away, Saddle Arabia is still desperately trying to forget about her and pray that she does not return.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Alraghba was screwed over throughout pretty much her entire existence, both as a mortal and a genie. She was born in utter poverty, menially/sexually abused as a harem mare, being denied her true love by corrupt royals who looked down on her for her commoner origins, framed and disfigured for a crime she did not commit, mocked and hated by her homeland for being an 'evil seductress', being denied her wishes by a genie, and was still denied even after becoming a genie herself, while being asked over and over again to grant selfish and even cruel wishes of countless petitioners and wishers. After all this, her transformation into a sadistic divine genie tyrant becomes almost perfectly understandable.
  • Deity of Human Origin: She was once a mortal harem mare who eventually turned into a genie, then Ascended to godhood by drawing power from an entire kingdom's sense of desire and fulfillment (among other things).
  • Depopulation Bomb: It's mentioned that she glutted herself upon the population of Saddle Arabia and the Near East during her longest and greatest reign of terror when she basically ruled over nearly all of it, devouring millions after millions over millennia as hundreds of generations of mortals and other beings lived and died knowing only her and her genies' dominion, with all who are capable of desire destined to be eventually consumed by Alraghba and her daughters and genies for their power and pleasure.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Nearly crossed this after the old sultanah framed her, kept her and Prince Hasra apart forever, have her tortured and her visage marred, and turned the whole kingdom against her with lies and rumours that she is an usurping seductress, leaving her heartbroken and utterly without hope as she crawled into the deserts presumably to die. Then she met Princep Lascivious in disguise.
  • Determinator: Alraghba's inner passion gives her an unrelenting resolve to get what she cannot have and achieve her desires, whether it is to escape her hardship or to be with the Pony she loves, even if she has to tear apart heaven and earth to get it. Sadly and ironically, the only person she genuinely desired most is Prince Hasra, who will forever remain out of reach thanks to both the efforts of Hasra's corrupt, abusive royal family, as well as higher forces beyond her control.
  • Does Not Like Men: As information about her, her inner circle, and her deeds became distorted and/or exaggerated over time, she gained a reputation for being an extremely misandric goddess who blatantly favored mares and fillies while tormenting both stallions and colts out of sadism. It's actually subverted; due to her extreme trauma, she Hates Everyone Equally and will punish anyone who possessed selfish and cruel desires in their hearts, regardless of gender. In one incident, she was approached by a group of mares who came to her thinking she'll automatically welcome them into her empires based on their gender... only for her to turn those mares she found wanting into her eternal playthings. Those who were victims of extreme suffering like her or found to be genuinely selfless and innocent were given sanctuary as they wished.
  • The Dreaded: Alraghba was an infamous ancient evil of the Near East and Saddle Arabia, whose reigns of terror were such that she remain feared by the people there even long after she was sealed away.
  • Drunk with Power: Having been denied her desires all her mortal life, becoming a wish-granting Reality Warper as a genie goddess and finally able to make her every whim attainable as easily as a wave of her horn caused her to become utterly indulgent with it and her desires, willing and even eager to abuse her power like any tyrant just because she could.
  • Elemental Rock-Paper-Scissors: Naturally, her powers of fire and wind can be countered by water and earth, especially if someone has both powers.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Alraghba is a sadistic, tyrannical Genie-Alicorn goddess, but it's implied even she finds certain evil and depravity appalling.
    • Many if not most of the wishes Alraghba twisted to turn against their wishers are made out of selfish desires and intentions, and her Jackass Genie antics makes sense when one considers she had personally suffered much and denied happiness from the selfish desires and intents of others throughout her mortal existence, making her understandably despise selfish wishes and selfish people in general. She ironically does not torment the very few whom she deemed truly selfless and innocent and actually grant their wishes without negative consequences out of implied genuine respect for their sincerity.
    • A poor couple wished they have food for their daughters... so their daughters could live long enough to be sold into slavery and earn them enough money to escape poverty. Alraghba turned them into the food they wish for and fed them to their daughters instead. THEN adopted and raised the two fillies like her own daughters and later promoted them into genies themselves, before giving them the souls of their parents back to do as they wish.
  • Evil Overlord: On top of her reigns of darkness across Saddle Arabia and the Near East, as a 'mortal' genie she once managed to earn the position of a viceliege after finding asylum in and serving the Empire of Malregnar well while she was a paramour of Princep Lascivious.
  • Failure Is the Only Option: Despite now having the power and means to make her own desires come true, there is one thing she truly wanted — to be with her beloved Prince Hasra. Because Hasra disappeared in the time she spent separated from him, she had been trying everything to get him back... only to eventually realize that she would not only potentially break Primeval Laws doing so, but also inflict more heartbreak on Hasra himself if she were to show him what she became. While she has accepted this, the revelation also pushed her further into misanthropic despair, leaving her with the burning desire to make the world pay for denying both of them their happy ending out of selfish cruelty.
  • Fate Worse than Death: As a sadistic divine genie tyrant, death is not only unlikely to be an escape from her or her genies, but also the LEAST terrible thing which could happen to you. Unless you are truly devoted to them or are truly innocent and selfless.
  • Frame-Up: On the receiving end of one from Prince Hasra's ruling regent mother the old sultana, who resented her for her lower social background as well as her beauty and was outraged by the mere idea Alraghba would become royalty by becoming her son's consort, but could not just get rid of her without good cause. Nobody (except her beloved Prince Hasra) believed Alraghba's protests of innocence on account of her being a lowly concubine and her words being worth little against that of the old sultana.
  • Forced to Watch: Invoked. For keeping her and Hasra apart, irreparably marring her body and mind, turning the whole kingdom against her and ruining her life until she became the bitter, vindictive and sadistic being she is now, after destroying the local pantheon and capturing her shade, a newly-ascendant Alraghba Malaka made the old sultanah watch as she destroyed her kingdom and the royal family which ruled it, ignoring her cries for mercy and leaving her unable to do anything but wail in despair.
  • Forced Transformation: Many of the wishes she twists when granted ends up inflicting this onto her victims, from turning those who wish to 'live in splendor' into living building materials and constructing a splendorous city and palace out of it, to turning those who wish 'for food' into food themselves and letting others eat them alive.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: From an innocent harem concubine who fell in love with a prince to a sadistic genie divine tyrant so powerful she once made most of the Near East her playthings at the height of her power.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Alraghba did not become a genie entirely by her own efforts: she had help from a mysterious sorcerer from a faraway land she encountered in the deserts following her marring and banishment, who took pity on her and taught her their homeland's dark magicks in hopes of passing the trials and challenges barring the way to her homeland's genies and be granted her wishes. While it is not known who they are, her entry heavily implies that he (she?) is not a Pony, or mortal for that matter... until later revelations confirmed it was none other than Lascivious, the Princep of Lust, one of the seven eldest Princelings of Vice, making the Empire of Malregnar the greater-scope villain indirectly behind her villainy.
  • God-Eating: It's mentioned that Alraghba defeated and devoured many Near Eastern pantheons during her reigns of darkness on top of mortals genies and other beings, feeding on their power and desires within her, which may partly explain how she got so immensely powerful.
  • God of Evil: Classified as one, though not as part of her domain, on account of being a sadistic divine genie tyrant who had terrorized Saddle Arabia and the Near East for centuries, toying with people's wishes out of vindictive amusement and abusing her Reality Warper powers to make whole lands her playpen and entire nations her playthings to sate her every desire.
  • Götterdämmerung: Induced this upon the local pantheon watching over her homeland upon crippling them with a divine wish and immediately following her ascension, the pantheon having earned her ire for never listening to her prayers and being patrons of the royal family who had hurt her so much. Emulating a certain unhallowed god-sovereign who was once her superior, she proceeded to make them suffer for their role in her suffering before consuming them all.
  • Hates Everyone Equally: Downplayed. Due to her utterly horrific experiences, as well as being cruelly torn away from her beloved Prince Hasra, she became an extreme misanthrope, believing all but a few sapient creatures to be rotten, cruel, and selfish deep down and deserves to suffer for it. The only people she takes a genuine liking to are those who suffered like she did and/or were truly selfless and innocent, and those who are devoted to her like her own genies. Given her misanthropy and trauma, however, her standards of moral purity and innocence are very high.
  • The Hedonist: Having been denied her own wishes and made to suffer for her own desires all her mortal existence, once she became an absurdly mighty genie and goddess she wasted no time abusing her Reality Warper status, using her powers to make whole lands and their peoples her playpen and playthings to satiate her every desire.
  • Humans Are Bastards: The root cause of her sadism. Having suffered much throughout her mortal existence due to the selfishness and cruelty of others more powerful than she was, as well as being constantly asked to have selfish wishes granted, it's implied she have an understandably low view on Sapient nature, seeing most beings as little better than selfish and cruel animals who deserve to suffer to have their selfish and cruel desires turned against them, and becoming playthings to satisfy her own desires as they treat others the same (and worse). Even so, she does apparently respect the few gems among them who are truly selfless and innocent, but to her they are just the exceptions, not the rule. And she simply does not trust most people NOT to be selfish and cruel, having been deceived by selfish and cruel people wearing innocous masks and having seen too many times even those who started innocently (like herself) becoming as heartless as the heartless world they live in, leading her to perceive even the tiniest amount of selfishness and cruelty others possess as damning and to continuously crush those less powerful than she is with pain and perdition to prevent them from becoming a threat.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Invoked by Alraghba in more ways than one. Being a Jackass Genie she frequently invokes this by twisting the wishes she grants against the wishers in terrible ways, finding bitter amusement in their suffering and destruction as their dreams turn into nightmares. It also extends to her backstory as a whole, as mortals, genies and deities alike throughout Saddle Arabia had made her endure deprivation, abuse, heartbreak and disillusionment throughout her whole existence as a harem mare and a genie through their cruelty and selfishness, and it would ultimately result in the creation of a sadistic divine genie tyrant who would bring terrible reigns of darkness over Saddle Arabia and the Near East as she unleashes her vindictive cruelty and indulges in her sadistic hedonism upon them for all their collective evils and sins, and all the suffering they had caused her.
    • Lampshaded by a demi-divine scion of the Grand Primevals when Saddle Arabians/Near Easterners came to ask why didn't the Grand Primevals intervene where even their own gods failed. He noted her reigns of terror often coincided with eras of moral declines and growing decadence of the Near East, as it lead to increase in often selfish desires among its people - which in turn Alraghba feeds on to increase her power until she could toy with their lands and even threaten their pantheons. He also pointed out that despite toying with and consuming so many beings for her power and pleasure, she had never been judged to have violated a single Primeval Law which forbids things like denying an innocent soul their rightful reward, and notes incidentally she had spared those who are truly innocent and selfless from her tyranny and grant them their wishes seemingly out of genuine respect - leaving only the unfortunate implication that beneath the surface the people of Saddle Arabia and the Near East had truly become so morally inadequate that they really did brought her on themselves and deserved everything she does to them. Indeed, it was only when enough of them realized this and repented their ways that Alraghba was eventually defeated and sealed away.
  • I Am a Humanitarian: On top of devouring mortals living or dead to feed on their desires and find pleasure in their suffering trapped within her - including her own former Ponykind - it is noted that she also feasted upon entire Genie tribes and consumed whole pantheons of Near East's gods.
  • I Am a Monster: Alraghba do know deep down that she had become a monster by partly by her own choice and possess considerable loathing and hatred for herself over it - though loathes and hates the world just as if not more for turning her into what she is today.
  • I Shall Return: She vowed to do so when she was finally defeated and sealed away presumably for good.
Alraghba Malaka: Do you think you have won?! Do you think you will deny me forever?! I WILL RETURN! And when I do, all of you will SUFFER as you ALL deserved - !!!
  • Jackass Genie: One of the most infamous examples in the Codexverse Near East. Having suffered untold heartbreak and misery from the selfish desires of others as a mortal mare, as a genie goddess she finds sadistic amusement in taking the wishes of those who sought an audience with her or caught her attention and twisting them to cause horror and suffering instead - and she devours them after they are undone so she could derive power and pleasure from their desires and torment inside her. She also don't hesitate to use her Reality Warper Genie powers to toy with whole lands and make their people her playthings to satiate her own desires. Either way, approaching her with a selfish wish or making one while her attention is in the area is liable to see them backfire horribly against you and/or becoming her toy afterwards for her sadistic, vindictive amusement. Her own race of Djinn all take after her.
  • Jerkass Gods: Being a sadistic Jackass Genie divine tyrant, she more than qualifies as one to mortals and other genies. It's implied though she was screwed over by the local pantheon of her homeland during her mortal youth, since despite all she went through because of the selfishness and cruelty of all those around her, they never once listened to her prayers for deliverance, and a local genie denied her her wishes partly because they are patrons of the royalty of her kingdom who were responsible for much of her suffering in the first place.
  • Lady of Black Magic: Downplayed, but a mortal Alraghba following her marring and banishment from the palace was taught dark magic fueled by desire and passion from a mysterious travelling sorcerer of a faraway land who took pity on her plight, just enough to pass the difficult trials and challenges reach one of the Jinn of her land in hopes of being granted her wishes to be restored to her former unmarred glory and be with Prince Hasra again.
  • The Lost Lenore: It is implied the one desire and wish she truly want fulfill more than anything else is to be with her beloved Prince Hasra. The fact that she still cannot and likely never will despite finally having the power to do so is implied to be a major impetus in turning her into the sadistic divine Genie tyrant she became, drowning her starcrossed sorrows indulging in her every other desire and venting her hatred at a seemingly cruel and selfish world for denying her the one thing she truly want. To twist the knife even further, she discovered that in her absence, Hasra had abandoned everything to escape his miserable life, disappeared into the deserts, and died. And she couldn't do anything about it due to being informed by various gods (implied to be the Grand Primevals or their scions) that she is forbidden from taking the dead away from their eternal reward, even if it'll grant her access to her beloved Hasra.
  • Maddened Into Misanthropy: A Trauma Conga Line of a mortal lifetime and genie existence filled with privations, abuse, heartbreak, and disillusionment caused by an unending parade of selfishness and cruelty by others turned a once innocent harem mare who only ever wanted to escape her hardships and be with her true love into a sadistic divine genie tyrant who now hates most of sapientkind and finds pleasure in denying and making them suffer for their selfish wishes while satiating her own desires.
  • Manipulative Bitch: While she had used her charms and wits before as a mortal mare to outdo her rivals as part of the royal harem, it would be in full display when she as a genie plotted her revenge against her home kingdom and everyone there who had ever wronged her or denied her desires, spreading rumours of a wish-granting meteor shower in various guises to make the entire kingdom believe and come out on that night to make their wishes, allowing her to draw power from their desires and their fulfillment from her secretly granting their wishes to ascend to godhood and cripple the local pantheon with her own divine-powered wish.
  • The Magnificent: Known as "the Sultanah of Wishes". This is disarmingly non-indicative of her true disposition as a sadistic divine genie tyrant who finds bitter amusement in twisting wishes, turn whole lands and their people into her playthings as a Reality Warper and deriving power and pleasure from the desires and suffering of those she consumed and torment within her body.
  • Meaningful Name: Her name means 'Desirous Queen' in Arabic, to reflect her power over desire as well as her status as the 'Sultanah of Wishes'.
  • Never Be Hurt Again: Some theorised the utter cruelty and sadism she developed as a divine genie tyrant may be deep down or in part a psychological defensive response to her own extreme trauma and suffering. Having been hurt horrifically by selfish people and cruel beings throughout her entire mortal life, like many sadists her mind had naturalised it and subconsciously perceives the only way to recover her lost sense of security and wellbeing is to hurt others back before they could hurt her, her mind rewarding her pleasure - possibly even the sexual kind - and incentivising her to further indulge in her sadism.
  • One True Love: More than anything else, Alraghba desired and loved Prince Hasra and vice-versa, and being forever denied him contributed significantly to her becoming the sadistic divine genie tyrant she is today. Even Princep Lascivious couldn't come close to filling the hole in her heart left behind by Hasra, something they are aware of but accepted nevertheless.
  • Pay Evil unto Evil: While Alraghba is considered sadistic divine genie tyrant, in her eyes she believes she was giving what the world and its people deserved for their cruelty and selfishness, and many of her victims do, in fact, have it coming.
  • Pet the Dog: For all her evil, she does apparently spare the truly innocent and selfless, apparently out of both villainous pragmatism to avoid trouble and genuine respect for their sincerity, granting their wishes without twisting them and sending them to their rightful heavenly afterlives inside her body or in her vessels when they die (where she could still feed on their desires). There are very few of them, however, with the rest who fall short still being liable to have their wishes turned against them and be reduced to being her playthings to feed upon and torment for eternity for their selfish wishes and desires. This led her to avoid being classified as a Fallen deity, and the fact that she could get away with tormenting and consuming so many without ever violating the Primeval Laws is noted by some to raise certain unfortunate implications.
    • Despite coming to despise her homeland and not hesitating to lay waste to it when Alraghba finally had the power and chance to, she decided to spare most of the children of the land from her vengeance and depravity, seeing them as innocent like the mare she once was and unable to bring herself to hate them. Granted, she sent them to Malregnar instead where Princep Lascivious and the Empire took them in both as a favour and being more than happy for new subjects, but that was still better than nothing. Incidentally, Alraghba also ultimately chose to spare and adopt the daughter Sultan Hasra beget with the spoiled and vain consort he was forced to marry as her own daughter.
    • When Alraghba overheard a poor couple's wish to have enough food for their daughters, she was ready to grant them their wishes without consequences... until she realize they wanted to save their own skins by keeping their daughters alive enough to be sold into slavery. Enraged, Alraghba twisted the couple's wish to turn them both into the food they wished for and let the young fillies eat them alive unawares. She adopted and raised the fillies as her own daughters afterward, and once they were old enough (and by then transformed into Genies themselves), Alraghba gave them the souls of their birth parents and told her adoptive daughers what their birth parents intended to do. The infuriated Genies proceeded to punish their birth parents by devouring them and tormenting them within their own gullets.
    • Queen Malikat Mushiea, the Radiant Jewel of the Sands is eternally grateful to Alraghba for freeing her from the cycle of abuse, cruelty, and suffering she was trapped in after being made both the ruler of a decadent and corrupt empire and reluctant caretaker of a cursed Tree of Woe, and considers her an ally and friend (and vice-versa).
  • Physical God: Alraghba is a particularly powerful and menacing genie Alicorn goddess.
  • Playing with Fire: Has fire as one of her domains, keeping with Jinn being described as being wish-granting elemental beings originally made of 'Fire and Air'.
  • Really Gets Around: Known to be this due to her ravenous desires and rampant hedonism, often sleeping with those who are of a similar nature and are willing or having her way with the mortals, genies and even gods who fell into her grasp. This led to her begeting many daughters (and strangely they are all daughters) who either follow her or embark on their own brand of infamy.
  • Reality Warper: Played for Horror. As a genie and a goddess, she is this by default and known to be much more potent than average, to the point of making most of the Near East her playland and everyone there her playthings at the height of her power.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: After attaining godhood and destroying the local Jerkass Gods who never answered her prayers and protected the rotten royal family, Alraghba used her now literally god-like genie powers to torment and ultimately destroy her home kingdom, indulging in her every desire and every depravity she could think of to make it pay for all the misery and suffering she experienced and received from the people there. And to add icing on the cake, she left the royal family and the old sultanah who ruined her life last so they can watch her have her way with and destroy everything they have or remotely care for.
  • Royal Harem: She was taken from her parents and the streets to serve as a harem mare at the palace when she was young, where she had to rely on her wits, charm and determination to work and please her royal masters while still being treated like property and plaything by those who look down on her for her gender and low social status.
  • Rule of Symbolism: Her present Cutie Mark is noted to be rather fitting of her backstory and nature: A lustful blue lantern cracked in the middle like her broken soul, appropriately through the middle of a sickly green heart to symbolize a broken heart poisoned by the selfishness and cruelty of the world, said broken piece at the side lying forever just out of reach representing what she lost and truly want. Bright crimson flames lit up from the neck of the lantern to symbolize both her immense power but also the insatiable desires ever burning in her heart. And then we have, instead of the genie, the purple multitudes of horrified/agonized screaming ghosts, desperately struggling to escape as they are being drawn into and trapped into the lantern, representing the uncountable numbers of beings Alraghba had devoured to ever increase her power and endlessly sate her sadistic desires.
  • Sadist: As a Jackass Genie divine tyrant, she finds sadistic amusement in twisting the selfish wishes and desires of others against them in the worst possible ways and watching them suffer as they are cursed and undone by their selfish desires. She also finds delight in consuming countless beings - whether they made a wish to her or not - and deriving power from their desires and pleasure from her toying and their torment inside her. She made whole lands her playpen with her immense genie powers and made the people there her playthings, leaving them devastated upon satiating her every desire with them.
Alraghba Malaka: You desire to be freed from your torment? Good! Wish it all you like, knowing it will never be granted. Every moment you desire and suffer will only feed and please me more.
    • On a more clinical note, some psychiatrists had outright diagnosed Alraghba with 'Sadistic Personality Disorder', classifying her type of cruelty as 'Tyrannical Sadism' - one of the four general forms of Sadism - which she exemplifies with her destructive, accusatory, surly, inequine, abusive and merciless cruelty, relishing in menacing and brutalising others and forcing them to cower and submit to her power.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: After terrorizing Saddle Arabia and the Near East for centuries, she was finally defeated and sealed away in an enchanted genie lamp, where it was hope she would remain imprisoned forever and be forgotten. However her cultists, genies, and scions are still looking for it in hopes of setting her free.
  • Sex Slave: Technically she isn't one, but was effectively made as such by many nobles and royals for their amusement and lusts back when she was a mortal harem mare in the palace, treated more as property than person due to her lower social class and gender. Only Prince Hasra had ever treated her with any respect when she became his favourite concubine, which contributed to them both falling in love. Once she as a divine genie tyrant had fully embraced her sadism and indulge in her desires without limits, she made many mortals, genies, divines and other beings who fell into her grasp into this as well to satiate both her own unbridled lust and her vindictive hatred for most beings' own (real or perceived) selfish and cruel lusts.
  • Shapeshifting: Can do this as bread and parcel of being a Genie. This allows Alraghba to effectively travel and manipulate others anonymously.
  • Sizeshifter: Can do this as bread and parcel of being a Genie. This proves convenient in her relationships and siring children with the Near East's own kinds of Giants such as the Jababiratan.
  • Star-Crossed Lovers: Alraghba and Prince Hasra fell in love while the former was still mortal, and the latter intended to promote Alragba from being his concubine to a full consort to rule by his side when he was to finally take the throne as sultan. Unfortunately, Prince Hasra's mother had other plans.
  • Start of Darkness: She was born in abject poverty, and grew up wanting to escape her deprivation and desiring all which she could not have. When she had a chance to, she found her circumstances changed little and found herself cruelly treated and exploited out of the selfish desires of others. When she finally found love and true happiness, she is barred from it because of who she is and lost everything in the process. Even after she became a genie she could not get what she truly wants, while she was asked to grant selfish wishes over, and over, and over again with little to no selfless desire in between. It’s little wonder she snapped.
  • Soiled City on a Hill: It's noted by some that it is not coincidental Alraghba's reigns of terror often coincided with parts of if not the entirety of Saddle Arabia and the Near East experiencing increasing moral decline and decadence, as it often leads to an increase of often selfish desires which Alraghba feeds on to gain power enough to tear down nations and threaten even the local pantheons themselves. It also explains why despite toying with and consuming so many beings Alraghba had never violated the Primeval Laws or is classified as a Fallen deity, since she does spare the very few who are genuinely innocent and selfless enough that even she respects them - everybody else, it seems, really did had it coming.
  • There Are No Therapists: Subverted. A Drabble revealed Joyous Freedom, the Rapturous Nirvana, being similarly desirious in her nature as Alraghba is, had tried to help her with her trauma as her therapist (when not collabing with her to corrupt and consume realms and indulging in their depraved natures with each other), and is hoping Alraghba would be released one day so she could continue to help mend her broken soul and find redemption, or at least push her evil towards more pragmatic/constructive direction.
  • Tragic Villain: While she's a Sadist Jackass Genie tyrant goddess who delights in making people suffer through their wishes, her behavior is a psychological response to being cruelly exploited and wronged by other selfish people in life, leading to her developing a fierce hatred of those who want to use her wish-granting powers for their own gain, or just being selfish in general (which includes a LOT of people). Also, despite now possessing the power to do and have everything she ever desired, the one desire she truly wish for - her love Prince Hasra - is implied to be forever beyond her reach, dooming her to eternally but futilely satisfy all her other desires and indulge her sadism at the cruel and selfish world, even though they would never be enough to make up for her pain and loss in her broken heart.
  • Trauma Button: Even after claiming her revenge, Alraghba is still haunted by the horrors and suffering she went through in her mortal life, often resurfacing whenever she sleeps or let her mind drift. She confided this to Joyous Freedom, her therapist, who does her best to try and remedy it.
  • Trauma Conga Line: On the eve of being made consort of her beloved Prince Hasra as he come of age to ascend the throne, Hasra's mother the old Sultana framed her for a theft out of hatred, envy and paranoia of Alraghba and her own selfish plans for her son. While Alraghba was spared from a gruesome execution by Hasra invoking an old custom to pardon servants who had done exemplary service (albeit still banished for their crime), his mother still had the last laugh by having Alraghba's face and body disfigured and spread malicious rumours of her being an evil seductress who tried to ruin the realm, making sure she would lose whatever worth she has to anyone and doomed to a life being hated and persecuted by everyone for being an 'evil seductress'. This contributed to her being Maddened Into Misanthropy.
  • The Usurper: Implied, as Alraghba became a 'Sultanah of Wishes' despite being born a mortal commoner. The concept is deconstructed with Alraghba in that despite she having no intent to usurp the throne, the mere idea that she could be one led to the paranoid (as well as jealous and classist) regent mother of Prince Hasra to frame, scar, vilify and banish her from the palace harem, which started a chain of events which led to her becoming not just an actual usurper, but something far, far worse.
  • Villain Respect: For all her evil, Alraghba is noted to sincerely respect the truly innocent and selfless, since her entire worldview is rooted in the inherent selfishness and cruelty deep down many if not most people and that they deserve to suffer for them. On the rare occasions she encounters a truly innocent or selfless wish she forgoes her Jackass Genie sadism and actually grants them their wishes. She still consumes them if they die within her domain, but only to feed on their desires, and otherwise let them rest in peace within the heaven-realms she installed inside herself specifically for them.
  • Where I Was Born and Razed: In revenge for all the misery and mistreatment she suffered there, Alraghba would lay waste to her kingdom of birth after ascending to a genie-Alicorn and taking out the local pantheon watching over it, toying with it and its denizens with her reality-warping genie magic, indulging in her every desire and depravity upon them, and feasting upon the denizens mind, body and soul until all that was left were desolate and depopulated wastes warped beyond recognition by her cruel whims.
  • Wish Upon a Shooting Star: Exploited by genie Alraghba to ascend to godhood and cripple the local pantheon, having tricked her home kingdom's people in various guises to believe that an upcoming meteor shower could grant them their wishes, using her power as a genie to secretly grant them and perpetuate the deception on that night while feeding on their desire and fulfillment with the aid of dark magic she learnt from Malregnar until she was powerful enough to achieve apotheosis and steal the powers of the local gods. She then twisted all their selfish wishes against them and enjoyed the horrific spectacle that followed.
  • Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: Alraghba was once a poor innocent harem mare who just wished to have a better life and be with her true love Prince Hasra. Now, having been denied her greatest wish and suffered untold misery because of the selfish desires of others, the sadistic divine Genie tyrant she became wanted nothing more than to make others suffer for their selfish desires, while satiating her own desires in forlorn hope it would appease her broken heart and soul.
  • Your Soul Is Mine!: Not even death is a potential escape from Alraghba's cruelty (unless you are the very few utterly innocent and selfless people around), as Alraghba feasts upon both dead she does living wishers and playthings when they finally expire from her wish-twisting and reality-toying, so she could eternally feed on their desires to increase her power and torment them inside her body for her pleasure. Even those those innocent and selfless she does not harm are also devoured, if left in peace in the heaven-realms she installed inside her body so she could continue feeding on their desires.

Queen Malikat Mushiea Arabia, the Radiant Jewel of the Sands

Classification: Ascendant/Elemental/Ethereal

Portfolio: Glory, Immortality, Plants, Gluttony, Queens

Rank: Divine (Tier III/Intermediate)

Queen Malikat Mushiea Arabia, born Nadih Om (first introduced here), is the Saddle Arabian Alicorn goddess of Glory, Immortality, Plants, Gluttony, and Queens, and is one of Sultanah Alraghba Malaka's staunchest friends and allies.
  • Abstract Apotheosis: After globe-trotting for many years since her faked death, she eventually came back to Saddle Arabia as an Alicorn goddess, having Ascended under divine tutelage at some point in her travels.
  • Adaptation Species Change: Nadia Om/Mottom from Kill Six Billion Demons was a human woman-turned-demiurge. Here, she's an Alicorn goddess, but of the Saddle Arabian kind rather than a Pony.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: She's a Saddle Arabian Alicorn goddess who embodies Glory, Immortality, Plants, Gluttony, and Queens.
  • Awful Wedded Life: Her time as wife and Queen-Consort of King Aljaabar Om was horrible. Not only did Aljaabar sexually abuse her, but he also did the same to his other wives in his Royal Harem and took in many young mares as her beauty faded with age. In time, Aljaabar became so sadistic and monstrous that she killed him, thinking his death will end the abuse. Unfortunately, three days later, his death would make her life even more miserable as she became the reluctant caretaker to Aljaabar's posthumous form, the Tree of Woe, forcing her to sacrifice countless bright and talented young mares to feed it in order to preserve her youth with the peaches it sprouted. This finally ends when Alraghba Malaka torches the Tree of Woe, ending Aljaabar's malicious influence for good.
  • Broken Bird: While she appears as a despotic Queen who surrounds herself with extreme opulence, she's actually a broken mare who hates herself for what she became and desperately wants to break free of the cycle of abuse, exploitation, and sexism, but is too scared of the potential consequences. Fortunately, she is saved when a disguised Alraghba fakes her death and torches her empire for her.
  • Broken Tears: Nadih Om finally breaks down in tears after revealing to a disguised Alraghba the Tree of Woe, her darkest secret, and outright begs her to take her place as Queen. Alraghba grants her wish by helping her fake her own death, leading to her empire's destruction yet setting the stage for her eventual return as the divine Queen of her own empire.
  • Cannibalism Superpower: Sort of. Prior to her divine Ascension, she kept herself immortal by eating peaches, which were spawned by a tree. A tree called the "Tree of Woe" that fed on the blood of young mares and happened to be the mutated corpse of her abusive, Serial Rapist husband. This is later averted when Alraghba torches the Tree of Woe, setting up a chain of events that led to her eventual Ascension.
  • The Chains of Commanding: She never wanted to be Queen at all, but when she murdered her abusive husband to end his ghastly treatment of his wives (herself included), she inherited his throne and empire... along with the Tree of Woe that sprung from her husband's corpse. By the time she meets the disguised Alraghba, she all but begs her enigmatic visitor to take her throne, absolutely sick with having to accommodate everyone's selfish desires. Fortunately, the mare, a disguised Alraghba Malaka, helps free her, setting the stage for her Ascension and eventual return as a Queen on her own terms.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: As a young filly, she was whisked away from her family and turned into a royal concubine against her will by King Aljibaar Om. She proceeded to watch while her husband acquired more and more wives while she grew old, and abused them horrifically to the point of either maiming or death. Eventually, she had enough and murdered Aljibaar in his sleep, burying his corpse in the palace gardens. She then slept for three days... and on the third day, she heard her husband's voice pleading for more wives.
  • Decadent Court: The court she watched over was previously her husband's, and many of its members were extremely depraved, corrupt nobles who glorified her as the "Radiant Jewel of the Sands" while blocking any meaningful reform she tried to pass as Queen. This contributed to her growing misery and desire to leave it all behind. Fortunately, when she met a disguised Alraghba, her prayers were answered and her court was left to the Sultana of Wishes' tender mercies.
  • Deity of Human Origin: She was previously a mortal Saddle Arabian Pony mare who Ascended to godhood as an Alicorn after many years of globe-trotting, learning under either Alraghba herself, the Princelings of Vice, or the children of the Grand Primevals.
  • Embodiment of Vice: She embodies Gluttony as a reference to Mottom representing the sin of Gluttony, spending her early reign as Queen surrounding herself with extreme opulence. Ironically, she hated her position because it came with the job of keeping the Tree of Woe fed with the blood of virgin mares, the only reason she kept doing it being her crippling fear of death.
  • Empire with a Dark Secret: Her first empire was actually her husband's before she murdered him, and the secret to its continued success was the Tree of Woe, a ghastly tree that sprouted from her husband's corpse three days later and grew immortality-inducing peaches in exchange for being fed the blood of young virgin mares. She genuinely hates herself for the crimes she committed and wanted to stop it, but is too afraid of death and her people's potential reaction if she chose to buck the trend. This ends when an enigmatic mare, who's actually a disguised Alraghba Malaka, helps her flee in secret so she could leave her empire to its fate while indulging in the freedom she always wished for.
  • Expy: According to Randomfan11, one of the Codexverse writers, she's based on Nadia Om/Mottom from Kill Six Billion Demons. Much like Mottom, she was forced at a young age to marry a powerful ruler who was captivated by her beauty, only to kill her husband once he turned out to be an abusive Serial Rapist. Unfortunately, that got her saddled with the unenviable tasks of ruling a corrupt empire (with its accompanying Decadent Court) and taking care of a sentient, bloodthirsty tree that fed on the blood of young females. She is also a powerful Physical God like Mottem, but various changes in circumstances mean that she is far more powerful than her character inspiration, no longer held back by fear of retribution or losing what she held dear.
  • Forced into Evil: She never wanted to become Queen of an extremely corrupt empire or the caretaker of a ghastly tree that fed on the blood of innocent young mares. But by murdering her husband, King Aljaabar Om, she became exactly that, and she lived in utter misery until she met a disguised Alraghba Malaka, who helped her fake her death so she could have the freedom she always longed for.
  • Gilded Cage: She considers her entire reign after murdering her abusive husband and being made to rule his empire in his place to be this. While she wanted to rule on her terms, she was forced instead to accommodate the petty and corrupt Decadent Court her husband left behind lest they turn on her, and feed the Tree of Woe her husband's corpse sprouted with the blood of young mares for its immortality-maintaining peaches out of sheer terror of death. She eventually became so miserable and desperate that she tearfully begged another mare who was Alraghba Malaka in disguise to take her place so she could at last be freed of it.
  • God Guise: Pre-Ascension, she kept up her reputation as her people's "Radiant Jewel of the Sands" by consuming the Tree of Woe's immortality-inducing peaches and using her prodigious talent in plant magic. This is later averted; after she is freed from her situation by a disguised Alraghba Malaka, she proceeded to travel the world and learn under various deities, allowing her to Ascend and become a goddess for real.
  • God of Evil: She embodies Gluttony and the evil aspects of Glory, Plants, Immortality, and Queens, representing what could happen if a Queen fell to corruption by indulging in hedonism or pursued glory to unfettered extremes. However, it's subverted as she now inflicts her God Save Us from the Queen! tendencies upon the wicked, rather than the innocent like she used to.
  • God Save Us from the Queen!: Deconstructed. She wanted to be The High Queen, but she was stuck with appeasing her husband's Decadent Court and making sure the Tree of Woe that sprung from his corpse is regularly fed, which required sacrificing bright young mares to it. Any attempts made by her to pass meaningful reforms were blocked by corrupt nobles and royals who wanted her to keep the status quo. By the time she meets a disguised Alraghba, she had grown so sick with being Queen that she begged Alraghba to replace her. Fortunately, Alraghba sympathized with her enough to grant her wish, setting up the circumstances that turned her into an Alicorn goddess and Queen.
  • Green Thumb: Malikat Mushiea was a prodigy in plant magic and could turn deserts into lush green paradises. She tried to do this when she was the head of her late/murdered husband's empire, but was repeatedly stonewalled by the decadent nobility and other kingdoms who did not want her to upset the status quo. After she ascended to godhood and formed her own empire, she proceeded to just that without interference for her lands.
  • The High Queen: She wanted to be this after becoming Queen of her murdered husband's empire, but her attempts to bring in much-needed reforms and turn the surrounding desert into a lush paradise was met with staunch opposition from both the decadent nobility and corrupt members of the royal family she married into. After Alraghba freed her from her situation, she spent years globe-trotting, and proceeded to build her own empire from the ground up after Ascending to godhood so she can rule on her own terms.
  • Immortality Begins at Twenty: Subverted; deities in the Codexverse grow by getting Stronger with Age, becoming stronger, larger, and more eldritch the older they are. As an "Intermediate"-ranked goddess, she is relatively ancient and powerful, but weak compared to "Greater"-ranked deities and beyond.
  • Kill the God: She murdered a powerful demigod King to stop his depraved hedonism and his ghastly, sadistic treatment of his many wives. Said demigod also happened to be her abusive husband, King Aljaabar Om. While killing a demigod is in itself a huge accomplishment for her, she was also left so exhausted by her act that she fell asleep for three days afterward. Unfortunately, her deed created something far worse: the Tree of Woe, which sprouted from her husband's corpse and fed on the blood of young virgin women.
  • The Magnificent: Known as "the Radiant Jewel of the Sands".
  • Meaningful Name: Her birth name, Nadih Om, is essentially an alternative Arabic spelling of Nadia Om. Her Alicorn name, Malikat Mushiea, translates to "radiant queen" in Arabic, and she is presently an Alicorn goddess and divine sovereign of a lush, prosperous Near Eastern empire that is like an utopian oasis in the desert lands.
  • Motivated by Fear: Like Motton, Nadih's actions were primarily motivated by fear - Aljabaar, her court, growing old and impotent and the extent of her her power. Alraghba taking her throne from her and helping her fake her death leads to a set of events that allow her to overcome that fear and become more powerful than ever.
  • Point of Divergence: Like Mottom, she decided to look for someone worthy enough to take the throne from her so she can finally be free of the cycle of abuse, sexism, and exploitation, leading to her meeting and taking great interest in a certain young mare. But unlike Allison, who refused the throne when offered and escaped her palace, Alraghba accepts Nadih Om's offer after seeing how much she suffered and helps her fake her death before torching her corrupt empire in her absence. Nadih Om, meanwhile, Ascended to godhood and started over fresh by conquering corrupt Saddle Arabian lands and becoming the Queen of her own empire.
  • Post-Victory Collapse: Despite being a mortal mare at the time, she killed her husband Aljabaar Om, a powerful demigod, to end his depraved hedonism and mistreatment of his Royal Harem. After burying his corpse in the palace gardens, she was so exhausted that she fell asleep for three days.
  • Powerful and Helpless: Prior to meeting Alraghba, she was a beautiful Queen who was exalted to nigh-God-Emperor levels, but was deep down an extremely miserable mare embittered by how she was essentially a slave for others in all but name. With the help of a disguised Alraghba, she faked her death and left for parts unknown while Alraghba conquered and burned her empire to the ground. She eventually came back as an Alicorn goddess and established her own empire where she was free to rule as she wanted.
  • Rule of Three: Much like Mottom, after murdering her husband and burying his corpse in the palace gardens, she felt so exhausted that she slept for three days. On the third day, she woke up to hear her husband pleading for more wives.
  • So Beautiful, It's a Curse: The entire reason she became royalty is because her then-future husband, King Aljaabar Om, chose to marry her for her beautiful hair, rendering her desires and talents completely moot. Then after killing Aljaabar and becoming Queen of his empire, toxic gender roles at the time forced her to constantly keep up her reputation as her people's beloved "Radiant Jewel of the Sands", even relying on the Tree of Woe's youth-inducing peaches to make herself appear as if she's immortal. This in part left her so miserable that she later begs a then-disguised Alraghba Malaka to take her place as Queen, unable to tolerate her subjects' ridiculous expectations anymore.
  • Sympathetic Murderer: She murdered her husband, yes, but her husband was an abusive monster with extremely depraved sexual tastes. It's implied the people her husband ruled over didn't like him either, and rejoiced after receiving news of his death.
  • Til Murder Do Us Part: She was a member of King Aljibaar Om's Royal Harem who was taken away from her family against her will. But after years of watching her husband's horrific mistreatment of his other wives, she murdered Aljibaar and buried his corpse in the palace gardens. She couldn't enjoy her victory because after three days, she discovered her husband transformed into the Tree of Woe, pleading for more wives.
  • Tough Leader Façade: Pre-Ascension, to her subjects, she was their beloved and eternally youthful "Radiant Jewel of the Sands" who liberated their empire from a monstrous demigod tyrant. Behind closed doors, she was a deeply embittered and broken mare who did a lot of horrible things to preserve her reputation and satisfy the extremely decadent and corrupt nobility/royalty, and wanted nothing more than to escape. By the time she meets a disguised Alraghba Malaka and shows her her darkest secret, she is completely sick of ruling and begs Alraghba to take her throne. Fortunately, Alraghba is genuinely willing to grant her wish, and while she still ends up becoming Queen of an empire later on, it is on her own terms.
  • Trapped in Villainy: She desperately wanted to abandon her throne and Decadent Court, and stop feeding the Tree of Woe, but she was too afraid of death and the potential backlash her actions would create to make that leap. She finally got her chance when she met a disguised Alraghba, who helped her fake her death out of sympathy, allowing her to be free and start over.
  • Villainous Friendship: She became one of Alraghba Malaka's staunchest friends and allies, feeling eternally grateful towards the latter for freeing her from a Vicious Cycle of abuse, cruelty, and suffering that she couldn't bring herself to escape. It's believed that after Alraghba's defeat and sealing, she helped orchestrate her friend's eventual freedom.
  • Villainous Glutton: She's a goddess of Gluttony and an evil Queen, though she follows constructive evil and punished those who indulged in gluttony to unfettered extremes. Her empire is noted to be a death trap for those who moved there solely to partake in endless hedonism.
  • Winged Unicorn: After many years of traveling the world and learning under various higher powers interested in her potential (including the Princelings of Vice and the Malumidae, adoptive/biological children of Nekelmu, the Evil Primeval, according to rumors), she eventually returns to her homelands in the Near East as a Saddle Arabian Alicorn goddess of Glory, Immortality, Plants, Gluttony, and Queens.
  • You Kill It, You Bought It: She killed her husband, King Aljabaar Om, to end the increasingly monstrous and depraved treatment of his wives. She really didn't expect being made Queen of his empire, forced to look after an extremely Decadent Court and a bloodthirsty tree that sprung from her husband's corpse.

Notable Heroes & Villains

    Marah Moufette, the Romantic Adventurer

Character: Heroic

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Type: Divine Consort, Legendary Adventurer, Folk Heroine, Courageous Explorer, Revered Spirit

Faction: Saddle Arabia, Great Skunk Pantheon

Marah Moufette (her entry here) is a renowned adventurer, beloved consort of the Great Skunk god Moufette, and the mortal mother of Rumansy Moufette.
  • Abhorrent Admirer: Subverted: she ended up with a white stripe painted down her back and Moufette chasing her, but she eventually realized why he was and found it romantic. As such, she started being playful in return, and by the time he caught her, she returned his advances, even if she needed a clothespin on her nose.
  • Action Girl: While she got aid from Moufette to be able to have them, she's a renowned adventurer and folkhero in Saddle Arabia who lived up to her legends.
  • The Ageless: Marah used a wish on a genie to be ageless for 1001 years. After that, her aging returned to normal and she eventually died of old age.
  • Divine Date: Caught Moufette's advances after having a white stripe painted down her back. While at first running from him (in part due to him stinking to high heaven), she gradually realized why he was chasing her and turned it into a playful sort of game until returning his advances and marrying him.
  • Famed In-Story: She's a legendary hero in both her homeland and the world over. This is in part due to her son immortalizing her stories in "Marah's Life of Adventure and Romance," making her a legendary folk-hero and figure.
  • Good Parents: She's the mother of Rumansy Moufette, and all indications was a good parent and Rumansy loved her enough to make a book about her many adventurers after her death.
  • Mundane Wish: She's granted three wishes from her genie friend Raghba, and while one is to live 1001 years so she can keep having adventures and another is to set her free, the other one is just to have her skunk stripes be natural rather than having to dye them on.
  • Really 700 Years Old: She wished on a genie to live for 1001 years, and stopped aging until the end.
  • Three Wishes: She was granted three wishes by her genie friend Raghba. Her first wish was to have her skunk stripes be natural, her second wish was to live 1001 years, and her third wish was to set Raghba free.
  • Thrill Seeker: She loved adventures, and one thing she did once marrying Moufette is exploit his divine power to have all sorts of adventures, enough to fill an entire book of tales.
  • Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: During one of Alraghba Malaka's reigns of terror, Marah saved an oasis town from one of the Sultanah of Wishes' sadistic Alraghbaeashir, gaining the gratitude of the town and help cement her reputation as a legendary folk heroine of both Saddle Arabia and the Near East.

High Emir Wolfnadir, the Tyrant King

Character: Villainous

Alignment: Neutral Evil/Chaotic Evil

Type: Ruthless Conqueror, Brutal Tyrant, Death Fearer, Cursed Lich, Eldritch Mutation

Faction: Wolfnadir’s kingdom, Himself

"A true ruler fears nothing but death."

High Emir Wolfnadir (his entry here) is a brutal, tyrannical conqueror and warlord who, through a series of unfortunate events, became a twisted form of Undead that scoured the Near East and beyond.
  • And I Must Scream: He was turned into a skeletal lich deprived of all flesh and senses, and then trapped for centuries in an abyss of eldritch darkness which corrupted and twisted him into an even more monstrous being.
  • Attack Its Weak Point: His current form's biggest weakness is a pair of golden enchanted bracelets forged by his malevolent allies which helped protect him from the eldritch darkness still corrupting his form. While by no means easy due to their durability, it is believed that destroying the braceletes would destabilise the eldritch darkness clinging to him and drag him back into the eldritch darkness which he sought to escape from, hopefully for good. This reportedly annoyed several local and foreign adventurers who were planning to loot the bracelets upon his (possible) demise.
Saddle Arabian adventurer: Wait, so those bangles on his forelegs aren't just mere jewelry?!
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: When mortally wounded by an assassin, he prayed for salvation for the first and only time in his existence. He got it, at the cost of being turned into a Lich whose flesh agonizingly withered away until he was little more than an animated skeleton.
  • Casting a Shadow: After being sealed in an abyss of eldritch darkness for centuries, his form is tainted with some of said eldritch darkness and can use it in the form of a breath saturated with it as well as protecting himself from many attacks, such as Shadow or Darkness Magic. It however also makes him vulnerable to other forms of attacks such as Light Magic.
  • Dirty Coward: For all his sheer ruthlessness, brutality, and sadism, he was willing to sacrifice even his closest and most competent subordinates if it'll save his own skin. This was especially true when he was sealed away in an eldritch abyss deep in the catacombs of a lost city; the centuries spent there made him desperate enough to sacrifice what little remained of his forces to the abyss, even as the eldritch darkness agonizingly twisted him into something else. And after he was freed by Mistletoe Dreamer for the "Dark Ages Crisis", his first response when confronted by benevolent deities of Death and Darkness (among other similar concepts) was to flee and chuck his Undead hordes at them in hopes of escaping his pursuers.
  • Exact Words: He prayed to avoid death and continue his existence no matter how high the costs... he just didn't specify that he had to be 'alive' and 'healthy'. Alraghba's genie milked it for all its worth by cursing him into becoming an Undead lich whose flesh and organs would painfully rot away until he's little more than an animated skeleton.
  • Expy: Of High Lord Wolnir. Like Wolnir, he was in life a ruthless conqueror and tyrant who, upon destroying his enemies, took their crowns and reforged them into a new crown for himself to wear. Eventually, he ends up trapped in the abyss, after which he becomes a skeletal, Undead horror desperate to escape his prison.
  • Fate Worse than Death: His wish for salvation after being nearly killed by an assassin got him turned into a Lich by a Jackass Genie. Then he gets trapped and sealed away in an abyss of eldritch darkness for centuries, which not only corrupted him into an even more terrible monster, but also drove him into almost psychopathic levels of insanity. While this would have been a horrible fate for anyone to endure, for someone like him it's well-deserved Laser-Guided Karma for all he had done in life, with his infamous impeity in particular screwing him over in his lowest moment.
  • Gashadokuro: Following his sealing inside an abyss of eldritch darkness for centuries and being corrupted by said eldritch darkness, he was 'mutated' from a normal-sized skeletal lich into a giant-sized skeleton with the strength and durability to match.
  • Immortals Fear Death: While his cursing into undeath rendered him undying - albeit as a skeletal Lich - he's still afraid of being destroyed and having to pay for his sins in the afterlife, resulting in him going to heinous lengths to save his own hide.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: While many of the things which happened to him would be horrific to any other being, Wolfnadir is such an unrepentant and selfish tyrant it's hard to feel sorry for him.
  • The Magnificent: Known as "the Tyrant King".
  • Nay-Theist: He never gave the gods the light of day and only ever prayed to them once in his entire existence for his own self-preservation. He even killed priests and looted temples for their holy relics and blessed accessories to ward against curses and misfortune. This backfired on him repeatedly as not only all did nearly all gods of the Near East forsake him for his impiety and atrocities, but the one who did listened to his only prayer - Alraghba Malaka - used the chance to epically screw him over.
  • Oh, Crap!: His and his court were horrified when his prayer for salvation upon being mortally wounded by an assassin was heeded by Alraghba Malaka, who sent one of her Genies to answer it, knowing full well whatever wishes they grant would be twisted in the worst ways possible. True to form, Alraghba's genie ignored their pleas and cursed Wolfnadir to a most terrible form of Undeath.
  • Protective Charm: To protect himself from curses and misfortunes after developing a Mortality Phobia, he murdered priests and looted temples to steal their holy relics and blessed accessories for his own use. Most of these don't last long due to the gods withdrawing their blessings and his own evil and cursed state reacting badly with them and burning them out, forcing him to seize more sanctified protective accessories to maintain his protection.
  • Sanity Slippage: The combination of his mortality phobia from his near-death experience, hideous appearance and sensory deprivation from being turned into a skeletal lich, and desperate isolation trapped alone inside an abyss of eldritch darkness constantly threatening to consume him had reduced him to a borderline psychopathic shadow of his former self.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: A group of heroes defeated him the first time by locking him and his forces inside an abyss of eldritch darkness at the bottom of the catacombs of a lost city which he was planning to harness its powers from, disabling some of the wards in hopes the eldritch darkness would spill over just enough to swallow them all. There he languished for centuries, sacrificing his minions and then unaware travellers he lured and caught to save himself from being pulled into the eldritch darkness, even while being tainted and twisted by it into an even more monstrous being.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Even after being freed from his prison by Mistletoe Dreamer, Wolfnadir was so terrified of death and darkness that when he was confronted by deities who embodied them during the "Dark Ages Crisis", his first response was to flee, chucking his own Undead hordes at his divine opponents just to cover his own escape. This led to Cultura calling Wolfnadir a "Get Back Here!" Boss as Wolfnadir's foes were forced to chase after him.

Other Notable Beings

    Prince/Sultan Hasra

  • Despair Event Horizon: Being unable to ever be with the one mare he loved thanks to his cruel and abusive mother, as well as being forced into an unhappy Arranged Marriage with a spoiled and vain princess from another land, broke his heart so badly that he eventually left the kingdom and wandered into deserts to unknown parts alone, never to be seen again.
  • The Lost Lenore: Gender-inverted for Alraghba, with Alraghba being a straight example of this trope for him.
  • One True Love: Alraghba, and vice-versa. Both of them were miserable with their own lives and found understanding, compassion and happiness with each other. Being denied their happy ending together both ultimately destroyed them as they were - Hasra being heartbroken to the point of wandering off to parts unknown, Alraghba becoming so consumed by bitterness and hatred she became a sadistic divine genie tyrant who ultimately destroyed their kingdom in her vengeance and desires.
  • Star-Crossed Lovers: His romance with Alraghba Malaka. The world would had been a much better place had they been allowed together as sultan and sultana, but fate had other plans.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: No one knows what happened to him, as in his loss and heartbreak he eventually abdicated the throne and wandered into the deserts, never to be seen again. Alraghba couldn't find him or bring him back with a wish even after her ascension into a Genie-Alicorn of unparalleled power.

    Hasra's wife

  • Arranged Marriage: The only reason Hasra marries her is because it was an arranged affair by Hasra's mother to secure an alliance with her kingdom.
  • Asshole Victim: Implied. She was a vain, spoiled royal from another land who only ever done one good thing (hiding her daughter away from Alraghba as the newly-ascendant dark genie goddess began her kingdom-destroying rampage), and the fact Alraghba didn't get in trouble for doing her in suggested she too had it coming.
  • Fate Worse than Death: Implied. A scene-insert has Alraghba noting her one good act of trying to save her daughter with Hasra from Alraghba didn't save herself from suffering a most horrific fate courtesy of Alraghba for her own sins.
  • The Ghost: We never see her depicted in any way.
  • Killed Offscreen: Alraghba got her hooves on her upon becoming the Sultanah of Wishes and destroyed the kingdom, leaving the royal family for last to suffer a most horrific manner.
  • Pet the Dog: When Alraghba returned a dark genie goddess and destroyed the kingdom, she put her very young daughter with Hasra in an enchanted sleep and hid her away before Alraghba came to destroy the royal family. Alraghba noted this was quite possibly the only good thing she ever did for her daughter or anypony.
  • Regent for Life: She became one for her daughter in the same manner as the Old Sultana was to her own sun Prince/Sultan Hasra after the Old Sultana passed away.
  • Spoiled Brat: What little mentioned of her suggests she was a vain and spoiled princess who don't deserve Hasra and Hasra did nothing to deserve marrying her.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: She barely had a presence, but her daughter with Hasra was adopted by Alraghba after she met her own to raise as her own, both as a living Tragic Keepsake of Hasra for the Sultanah of Wishes but also out of genuine compassion for a filly who deserved love that Alraghba never got. This paid off massively when many, many years later, the ascendant genie goddess Princess Zarhat, now grown up, led a mission to find and freed Alraghba from her millennia-long sealing in a magical genie lamp.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Was barely mentioned and Killed Offscreen after Alraghba came back to destroy her home kingdom.

    Hasra's mother
Hasra's controlling mother and true power behind the throne, her machinations and cruelty to Alraghba separated her and Hasra forever and contributed significantly to Alraghba becoming the sadistic divine genie tyrant she is today.
  • Abusive Parents: Controlled every aspect of Hasra's life so to make him 'worthy' of the throne and used him as a pawn in palace intrigues with other relatives and rivals, leaving Hasra utterly miserable with his life.
  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: When the ascendant dark genie-Alicorn goddess Alraghba had the soul of Hasra's late mother in her grasp, she didn't hesitate to beg for mercy from the mare whose life and happiness she destroyed. Alraghba showed her exactly as much mercy as she had shown her: namely, none.
  • And I Must Scream: For everything she did, Alraghba would consume Hasra's mother's soul and relentlessly torture the old sultana within her body, condemning her to suffer for all time alongside the rest of the kingdom and even the gods who were her patron whom Alraghba also had her way with, devoured and torment for their selfishness and cruelty.
  • Arch-Enemy: Was one for Alraghba back in her mortal days. They never got along, with the old sultana hating her for being a lowborn mare who is more beautiful than she ever could be and feared she is a seductive usurper who is trying to corrupt her son and would bring the kingdom to ruin if allowed to become sultana as her son wanted. She was the biggest obstacle to Alraghba getting her happy ending, and by far the one being Alraghba hated the most more than anything.
  • Aristocrats Are Evil: She is both a sultana and, for lack of a better summation, a massively elitist bitch who tormented the then-young and mortal Alraghba for being a commoner.
  • Arranged Marriage: She had intended her son Hasra to marry a vain and spoiled princess from another kingdom to secure an alliance when he had come of age to ascend the throne as sultan. She and a lot of other courtiers were outraged when Hasra defied her for the first time in his life and insisted upon taking his beloved concubine Alraghba as consort instead.
  • The Bad Guys Win: She was able to prevent Alraghba from marrying her son Hasra and framed her for a crime she didn't commit, while forcing Hasra to marry a vain and spoiled princess that she considered 'proper' for his son's station. And to Kick the Dog even further, she had Alraghba physically tortured to make her ugly and spread lies about her being a seductress seeking to ruin the kingdom. All that because Alraghba, a low-born commoner, dared to rise above her station and court a Saddle Arabian royal. Needless to say, her actions come back to bite her years later when Alraghba returned as a vengeful, bitter, and sadistic Genie-Alicorn goddess with the power to make her life a living hell for eternity.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Thinking Alraghba was a lowborn usurper who was trying to seize the throne by seducing her son, she ranted to Alraghba that she would rather the kingdom and the royal family destroyed before Alraghba would ever become sultanah. Many years later, when Alraghba returned as a bitter, vengeful and sadistic divine genie tyrant, Alraghba actively invoked this trope on her by forcing her to watch as she does exactly that.
  • Cold-Blooded Torture: When she can't have Alraghba executed for a crime she framed her with thanks to Hasra's desperate rule-lawyering and agreeing to her demands, she instead had her tortured and marred to at least have the satisfaction of seeing her suffer. Later on, when Alraghba returned a sadistic divine genie tyrant and had her in her grasp, Alraghba proceeded to return the favour a hundred fold, twisting, violating, marring and breaking her over and over without end both before and after she consumed her.
  • Despair Event Horizon: She was left screaming in despair as Alraghba forced her to watch as she had her way with and destroyed her kingdom after ascending to godhood.
  • Evil Is Petty: She is a thoroughly corrupt and elitist bitch who looked down on a then-young Alraghba for being a commoner. When she learned Alraghba fell in love with her son Hasra (and vice-versa) and started courting him, she proceeded to completely and thoroughly ruin the young mare's life, even having her tortured to the point of permanent scarring out of spite for attracting Hasra's affections. Karma bites her in the end when Alraghba returned as a powerful Genie-Alicorn goddess and subjected her to a most cruel fate in revenge for separating her from Hasra.
  • Fate Worse than Death: For everything the old sultana did to her, after Alraghba destroyed her kingdom and the royal family right before her eyes, the newly-ascendant Alraghba proceeded to make her experience more horror, agony and despair than any being had or ever would endure at the sadistic divine genie tyrant's hooves, and would continue to relentlessly toy, torture and torment her even after Alraghba eventually devoured and imprisoned/assimilated her soul to suffer forevermore inside her body, alongside the rest of the kingdom and their gods.
  • Forced to Watch: Alraghba made her watch as she destroyed her kingdom and royal family as part of Alraghba's epic Roaring Rampage of Revenge against her and everyone else who wronged the Sultanah of Wishes.
  • Frame-Up: Framed Alraghba for a theft of a priceless treasure in order to have a valid reason to get rid of her before Hasra could take her as a consort.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Part of the reason Hasra's mother hated Alraghba was that her beauty as a harem mare eclipsed even her own, and the thought that Alraghba would become a more beautiful sultana than she would ever be if Hasra takes her as consort partly drove her to eventually try and get rid of Alraghba.
  • Ironic Echo: As she condmened Alraghba, she proclaimed that she would rather her kingdom destroyed before Alraghba becomes a sultanah. Many years later, as the future Sultanah of Wishes held the pathetic shade of the Old Sultanah in her grasp, she threw those words back at her before the Old Sultanah is Forced to Watch as Alraghba destroyed her kingdom, powerless to do anything but scream in despair.
  • Manipulative Bitch: As part of her plot to get rid of Alraghba before Hasra could take her as consort, she pretended to mend fences with the harem mare despite their previous animosity, congratulating her for her imminent ascension as sultana and as a sign of good will gave her a gift in the form of a priceless treasure, though advised her not to reveal this to anyone just yet. This left no one but Prince Hasra believing in Alraghba's innocence when the old sultana called the guards and accused her of committing theft, which is punishable by death. When Hasra's quick thinking and agreeing to her demands meant she can't kill her, the old sultana did the next best thing by having her tortured and spreading lies and rumours that Alraghba is a seductive usurper before she is thrown out of the palace, leaving the heartbroken and marred mare mocked and hated by the whole kingdom as a final gesture of spite.
  • No Name Given: The name of Hasra's mother is lost to time, as does the name and existence of the kingdom her royal family ruled. At most, she is only ever referred to as the 'Old Sultana’.
  • Oh, Crap!: She was utterly horrified when Alraghba returned a sadistic divine genie tyrant and completely eager to make her existence an eternal hell in revenge for everything she did to her.
  • Regent for Life: Was this for a young prince Hasra until he was old enough to take the throne. It's implied/shown though that even as Hasra was old enough to take it she still have a disproportionate amount of influence.
  • Self-Fulfilling Prophecy: Her actions to 'save' her kingdom and her royal family from being ruined by a mare she looked down as a rabble usurper ended up causing exactly the same outcome she had wanted to avoid, in a manner far worse than anything she imagined in her worst nightmares.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: The old sultanah's cruelty to Alraghba and making her and Hasra become Star-Crossed Lovers ultimately set in motion events that turned Alraghba into the bitter, vindictive and sadistic divine genie tyrant she would become, in turn leading to the destruction of the kingdom she was trying to 'save' from her usurping grasp, herself receiving a Fate Worse than Death, and condemning Saddle Arabia and the rest of the Near East to be terrorised by Alraghba and suffer under her reigns of darkness for millennia to come.
  • The Usurper: Not one herself, but her classism and paranoia led her to believe the harem mare Alraghba whom her son Prince Hasra has fallen for and intend to take as consort as sultan is a lowborn seductive usurper who is trying to take the throne and would bring the kingdom to ruin if she ever become sultanah. Ironically, she was right - albeit it was caused by her actions and happened in the worst possible way for her and everyone else.

Alraghba's scions, servants and subjects

    General

    The Alraghbaeashir
The all-female Alraghbaeashir are the Sultanah of Wishes' own beloved race of Genies, and are feared among Djinnkind for their beauty, cruelty, depravity and might as they devotedly and gleefully join their mistress and/or parent in bringing about and enforcing her reigns of terror, having their way with the Near East as well as its mortals and other genies to sate their own endless hedonistic desires.
  • Abstract Eater: Like their mistress, they feed upon desire and use it to fuel their powers. This can come either from their own ravenous desires or those they torment and devoured, giving them plenty of nourishment. As a general rule, the more desirous they are and/or the more beings with desire they consume, the more powerful they become.
  • The Assimilator: Like their mistress, the Alraghbaeashir like to devour those who fell in their grasp and make them a part of them, living or dead, so they may continue to feed upon their desires for power and toy and torment them forever for their pleasure.
  • Becoming the Genie: Many of the Alraghbaeashir were originally mortals who were transformed and empowered by their goddess into a Genie.
  • Beauty Is Bad: The Alraghbaeashir are all noted to be very beautiful, and all very, VERY bad.
  • Blow You Away: Like their mistress, they can command the winds, taking after genies being considered beings of 'fire and air'.
  • Deity of Human Origin: Some of them would go on to ascend to godhood like their mistress, though many stayed by her side out of genuine love and devotion.
  • The Dreaded: While there are many other Jackass Genie individuals or Djinnkinds, the Alraghbaeashir are particularly feared for their power and cruelty.
  • Elite Mook: They form the enforcers and inner circle of Alraghba's court whenever she rises in power and unleashes her reigns of terror across Saddle Arabia and the Near East. Alraghba has servants and allies beyond them, but none of them do not hold a candle to the Alraghbaeashir.
  • Happily Adopted: Many of the Alraghbaeasir were once mortal children who Alraghba spared because of their innocence and adopted as their own. They are often raised with love by her and her fellow genies, and were eventually rewarded for their deeds and devotion by being transformed into genies themselves. This is one reason why so many are utterly devoted to their mistress, even more so than their own birth parents (who often fall short compare to even Alraghba and earn their ire). One pair of them even gleefully took over the tormenting of their own birth parents from their mistress after she revealed following their transformations that their birth parents - whose wishes Alraghba twisted and subsequently devoured and tortured them within her while she adopted their daughters - had intended to sell their daughters into slavery to escape poverty.
  • The Hedonist: When not serving their mistress, they like their mistress like to indulge their desires and depravity upon mortals and even genies who fell in their grasp.
  • I Am a Humanitarian: Despite their mortal origins and present genie nature, their ravenous desires and sadistic cruelty are such that they relish in devouring their own past and present kinds, feasting upon whole nations with their mistress to derive power from the desires of those they consume and pleasure from eternally toying and tormenting their victims within themselves.
  • Jackass Genie: Among some of the most infamous and dangerous in the present day, liking nothing less to twist wishes of and toy with their victims.
  • Meaningful Name: In-universe, Alraghbaeashir means roughly the 'Kindreds of Desire' or 'Desirous Kindred' in Equestrian.
  • One-Gender Race: The Alraghbaeashir are noted to be all-female, although it's mentioned that this is not entirely by her own choice.
  • Playing with Fire: Implied to be capable of doing this as their mistress can, taking after depictions of genies as beings of 'fire and air'.
  • Reality Warper: Like their mistress, the Alraghbaeashir can bend reality to their whims by granting wishes, and due to taking after older kinds of Djinn are not restrained by many of the common restrictions many Djinns have, allowing them to grant as many wishes they like for others and even themselves, limited only by their power which they derive from feeding on their own or others' desires to fuel/catalyse their magic.
  • Sadist: Many if not all of them share their mistress' cruelty, deriving much pleasure from twisting the wishes of petitioners and toying and tormenting those who fell in their grasps.
  • Undying Loyalty: For all their faults, they are beloved by their mistress, and in return nearly all of them unconditionally love and are devoted to her, even after she was sealed away.

    Princess Zarhat

Classification: [TBA]

Portfolio: [TBA]

Rank: [TBA]

Princess Zarhat is a Genie-Alicorn and the oldest daughter of Sultanah Alraghba Malaka, being possibly the first of the Alraghbaeashir as well as her first child.
  • Happily Adopted: It is heavily-implied she was the daughter between Prince/Sultan Hasra and the vain, spoiled princess he was forced to marry, whom Alraghba decided to not only spare but adopt as her own, partly because she is the only reminder of her lost love Hasra remaining but also out of compassion as she was an innocent child who deserved love and happiness that was denied to Alraghba.
  • Meaningful Name: Alraghba named her Zarhat, which means 'Flower', and she is the flower of her adoptive mother's existence partly because she is a living Tragic Keepsake of her lost love Hasra.
  • The Older Immortal: She is not just one of the oldest among the Alraghbaeashir, but also possibly the oldest, the very first of their kind. She is also the eldest scion of the Sultanah of Wishes herself, whether blood or adoptive.
  • Shrouded in Myth: In-Universe among the Alraghbaeashir, given she is older than most of them, was very close to their mistress, and generally kept to herself.
  • Tragic Keepsake: A living version, as Zarhat is the only reminder left of Alraghba's lost love Hasra.
  • Undying Loyalty: Princess Zarhat, like many of her fellow Alraghbaeashir, was and remained devoted to Alraghba Malaka even long after she was sealed away. In her case, her undying loyalty stems from the fact she was her adoptive mother who raised her with unconditional love. It was Princess Zarhat who led the effort to find and finally release her adoptive mother from her prison.
