Space Wolf Entertainment Productions

The modeling agency of Sanada Hikaru, which employs most of the members of the main cast. Does everything from gravure (clothed glamour modeling) to AV (hardcore pornography).

Japan KGB

A Bust-Contrast Trio of gravure models created by Space Wolf in collaboration with Mizutani Yuki's Once Again agency, consisting of main protagonist Haebaru Misora ("K" after her cup size), Hara Akira ("G"), and Yokuta Beruko ("B").

    Haebaru Misora
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/misora_haebara_1.png
Occupation: Gravure modeling
Special Talent: Okinawan karate
The heroine of the series. Born and raised on the island of Okinawa on Japan's southern end, Misora studied classical karate under her late father from the moment she was big enough to throw a punch. After graduating from high school, she moved to Tokyo hoping to become a J-pop singer, only to wind up doing gravure while she waited in vain for alternative careers to take off. With the help of AV director Victor Iba, the agency managed to turn her karate skills into a marketable gimmick and she's settled into gravure and softcore modeling.

Played by Rina Hashimoto in the film adaptation.
  • Action Girl: She trained in traditional karate under her father from an early age, and as an adult is a world-class martial artist capable of going toe-to-toe with professional MMA fighters at even odds or better.
  • Aggressive Submissive: Despite being a karateka, she's naturally a bit of a Shrinking Violet and tends to be the more submissive partner in love scenes.
  • Amazonian Beauty: Misora is both jacked and stacked, and uses both to full effect as a model and karateka. Her height and musculature, along with her darker skin, make her exotic next to less athletic models, and also help her win fights: she overcomes her first two opponents in the Tournament Arc with sheer brute force.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: She's naturally friendly and a little shy. Piss her off at your peril.
  • Big Prick, Big Problems: Gender-Inverted: in chapter 14 she develops a body-image issue over the size of her clitoris, which Akira attributes to her developing higher-than-average testosterone levels due to her active lifestyle and her various scares. She briefly tries to be girlier in the hopes her testosterone levels will go down, but it makes her miserable so she ultimately accepts that it's who she is—even if it makes modeling in tight clothing more extreme than planned. The size of her clit gets referred back to every so often: for example, after Miya has a Wardrobe Malfunction during a shoot, the other girls cheer her up by declaring her penis to be just a really big clit, and compare it to Misora's.
  • Bi-Wildered: Misora thought she was straight most of her life, but eventually ends up in what starts as a Friends with Benefits relationship with Hara Akira and has some trouble accepting the idea that she's probably at least bisexual.
  • Big Sister Instinct: She was the eldest child of her family, and it sticks around: once she's established at Space Wolf, she starts looking out for younger models like Sarashina Utako and Daidai Reon, which leads to a couple of plots. In chapter 28 she also gets a gig hosting a Sunday sports news segment focused on up-and-coming female high school athletes, which is how she meets Imamiya Ebisu.
  • But Not Too Black: As an ethnic Okinawan, she naturally has darker skin than the mainland Japanese cast members: she's drawn with a tone similar to Brazilian Maria Riviera and Indian Luna Karn. One time, Toro Samon threatened to "bleach your shit-colored skin with my cum" when she tried to stop him from marrying Utako-chan.
  • Butch Lesbian: Or "lesbian-leaning bisexual" as the author puts it. She's a bisexual model whose appeal comes from being a karateka.
  • Buxom Beauty Standard: Discussed in Extra Chapter 2 when some middle school students in the Greek Chorus debate the relative merits of Utako versus Misora. The female class rep comes to Misora's defense: Misora being over 25 centimeters taller and having darker skin means that Utako looks bustier by comparison, but then notes that Misora's Amazonian Beauty means she scratches different itches compared to the much girlier Utako.
  • Cursed with Awesome: Despite her physically active lifestyle, Misora has very large breasts. In fact, they won’t stop growing, even with all her exercise she’s still had to go up cup-sizes every year. If she ever stopped exercising her breasts would probably grow out of control. She likely has Gigantomastia, which would be a pretty serious medical condition, but she’s a model, so she never has to deal with them shrinking and potentially hurting her career, whereas most women in her position would have to get implants to stay relevant.
  • D-Cup Distress: Her K-cups actually cause her a few problems, chiefly that early on she can't afford sports bras that fit them. The watermelon-smashing gig solves that problem by netting her a brand sponsorship. She was also bullied in fourth grade when her bust started growing, and in the present day she once compares herself unfavorably to the less-endowed (E-cup) Mika during a Hot Springs Episode.
  • Disappeared Dad: Misora's father Tatehito, who taught her karate, liked to practice his kata atop an old fortress battlement on the island. One day he fell off the wall, and succumbed to his injuries in the hospital days later. The police investigated and found no signs of foul play, and he insisted to the last that it was an accident, but during the Tournament Arc Misora is knocked unconscious by a male friend of Laila Mendez who says afterwards, "Your father was tougher."
  • Dumb Blonde: Reconstructed. She's not actually dumb so much as a touch gullible and very specialized at particular areas of expertise. The reason for her hair color is unclear: she was a brunette as recently as her early teens according to flashbacks to training with her father.
  • Energetic and Soft-Spoken Duo: Naturally shy, she's the soft-spoken one next to a lot of the other female characters, but most pointedly Chae Yun-Hui (who plays the villainess opposite her in Fist of the Tokyo She-Beast), her girlfriend Hara Akira, and sex fiend Maria Luisa.
  • Even the Girls Want Her: Sara has lusted after Misora since she beat her in the hundred-man kumite, and she is also a Lust Object for Luna, Maria Luisa, and Hatsumi Hime. It turns out to be mutual with Akira.
  • Fanservice Model: Misora does highly sexualized gravure modeling, to the point where the localization often translates her job description as "clothed porn". Her shoots generally avoid exposing nipples or genitals to the camera, but even when she doesn't have a Wardrobe Malfunction she shows a lot of skin.
  • Full-Frontal Assault: Misora has won several fights while partially or completely nude. It was by design in the hundred-man kumite since that was supposed to end with the person who beat her getting to have sex with her, though instead she ended up beating fifty-five and scaring the others off.
  • In-Series Nickname: Sara starts calling her "Miso-Ramen" at some point.
  • Informed Attribute: For as "big" a deal as her clit is said to be, nothing indicates that it's any larger than than what would be considered normal. If her clit was truly the size that Akira and the others make it out to be, it would be visible. Yet the one time the reader gets to see it, it appears to be a tiny bump under her bikini bottom. Made more egregious by the pinup pictures of Misora that preface each chapter, many of which show her wedging floss sized strips of fabric between her vulva — with no sign of a clit at all.
  • Hollywood Tone-Deaf: Misora hoped to use her idol career as a bridge to becoming a pop singer. Unfortunately for her, we learn the first time she does it that she can't carry a tune in a bucket. Her friends eventually ban her from singing karaoke.
  • Light-Haired Swimmer: Or a close variant. As an ethnic Okinawan she has darker skin than average for Japanese people, but it's unclear why her hair is so light: in flashbacks she's depicted with black hair.
  • Love Confession: To Akira in chapter 32, after a lot of soul-searching. Akira returns it in kind.
  • Made of Iron: In addition to being very strong, she's extremely tough as well. It's a Justified Trope: in traditional karate, blocks are used just as much to injure the attacker as to defend (Chae Yun-Hui learns that the hard way), and she's once seen performing karate kata for kinesthesiology researchers, who prove that she unconsciously adjusts her footing and joint positions to better distribute the force of incoming blows.
  • Megaton Punch: Misora's fists are as hard as rocks and she can drop men twice her size with a straight jab, as she demonstrates abundantly in a hundred-man kumite in the first Story Arc. In her round of 16 match in the Tournament Arc, she delivers Chompoo Shinlat a straight right that sends her flying into the opposite fence.
  • Mundane Wish: Her tournament prize wish from Jeremy Friedman is an all-expenses-paid overseas vacation for her and her family.
  • Porn Creator Going Mainstream: As a gravure model, Misora essentially does softcore porn. Fist of the Tokyo She-Beast sees her make her debut in a mainstream action flick.
  • Reluctant Fanservice Girl: Misora didn't originally want to be an adult model in the first place: she wanted to be an Idol Singer but turned out to be Hollywood Tone-Deaf. She narrowly managed to avoid being pushed into AV—twice, and at great effort both times—and has gotten used to showing skin, though she still tries to avoid showing everything: part of the issue with her Gag Clitoris is that it pokes through tight clothing, and she's mortified when she has a Wardrobe Malfunction during her second match in the Tournament Arc.
  • Tomboyish Ponytail: She starts with Boyish Short Hair but by chapter 8 she's growing it out into a ponytail, befitting her karate image.
  • Unexpected Virgin: She is a virgin at the start of the series, much to the astonishment and amusement of Sara. While Misora isn't opposed to losing her virginity, she wants to save herself for someone she actually cares about, rather than have it be the result of a business transaction. After one false start with a male model she meets while they're both paid eye candy at a business dinner, that person ends up being Hara Akira.
  • "Well Done, Daughter!" Girl: She deeply misses her father and often recalls him admiringly, hoping he would be proud of what she's accomplished.
  • Wife-Basher Basher: One of the few things that will arouse Misora to real anger is threatening other women. She broke Ikezaki Gensuke's hand for beating up Leia, and used her agency connections to get Toro Samon sent overseas to keep him away from her kouhai Utako-chan.

    Hara Akira
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hara_akira.jpg
Occupation: Gravure model
Special Talent: Trivia

The G-cup in Japan KGB, and a law student, she's introduced working for the Once Again agency. Initially ordered by the scheming Mizutani Yuki to seduce Misora to create a lesbianism gimmick for the benefit of the tabloids, she quickly finds herself falling for the Okinawan karateka for real.

  • Becoming the Mask: Akira first seduces Misora by using a Wounded Gazelle Gambit to lure her into a love hotel, then spontaneously kissing her and feeling her up after getting out of the shower, on the orders of her manager Mizutani Yuki to create a tabloid scandal to gin up publicity.invoked The attraction sticks around and they eventually become a couple.
  • Brainy Brunette: She's a third-year law student when introduced and knows a lot about any number of really obscure topics, including human anatomy. When Japan KGB competes in a trivia Panel Game in one chapter, she wins it for them almost singlehandedly.
  • Closet Key: Misora and Akira turn into Friends with Benefits after Akira seduces her in chapter 8, but Misora still thinks she's straight and having sex with Akira doesn't count and therefore she's still a virgin. After Akira argues to her that actively desiring sex with another woman means Misora must be "bi, if not a lesbian" in chapter 22, Misora first breaks it off with her for a month, then starts to come around to the idea. They make a mutual Love Confession at the end of chapter 32.
  • Fanservice Model: Akira is mainly a swimsuit model.
  • If It's You, It's Okay: Despite being a lesbian and in a committed relationship with Misora, Akira openly admitted she'd be willing to let Yajima bang her. Yajima appears to consider the offer for a moment before opting to change the subject (chapter 28).
  • Lipstick Lesbian: She outright admits to being fully gay in chapter 14, long before she and Misora become the Official Couple. She's much more traditionally feminine than Misora, being a Brainy Brunette rather than an Action Girl, though she does take aikido classes at the gym. During an extra chapter she starts teaching part-time (at the Greek Chorus students' school) to supplement her income while she finishes her degree. Zig-Zagged somewhat because she tends to more often be the dominant partner between herself and Misora.
  • My Girl Is a Slut: Hatsumi Hime records Misora having sex with Akira on a hidden camera and uses it to extort sex from Misora as well. Misora tearfully tells Akira immediately after... who promptly jumps her bones, finding it a turn-on. It's shown later that Akira doesn't mind sharing Misora with other women in the slightest: in addition to allowing her to remain Friends with Benefits with Hime, she and Misora have a threesome with Luna after their first round of matches.

    Yokuta Beruko
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yokuta_beruko.jpg
Occupation: Gravure model
Special Talent: Competitive eating

The permanent loli of Japan KGB, Beruko is the third member to be fleshed out. A former junior idol, she now competes in competitive eating.

  • Beta Couple: She's in a casual relationship with German soccer star Ernst Mahler, which gets upgraded after they're caught together by paparazzi.
  • Big Eater: Justified. She's a competitive eater, and when she faces off against "Muscle" Kitayama in a curry rice-eating contest, she devours more than half her body weight. Her teenage eating disorder caused her to develop pathological gastroptosis—meaning her body is poorer than usual at absorbing nutrition. She also has a significantly oversized stomach for her body size.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: She was modeling in skimpy swimsuits before she even hit puberty, and developed bulimia nervosa from her unhealthy efforts to keep her career as she grew older (spurred by social media comments on her shoots), which stunted her growth and caused her to stop menstruating.
  • Fanservice Model: Played for Drama. Beruko started modeling in skimpy swimsuits before she hit puberty and developed, meaning basically that her career started as an end-run around child pornography laws (one such image is shown, and it is not meant as fanservice for the reader). Her attempts to keep her career as she grew older led to her developing an eating disorder.
  • Older Than They Look: She's roughly the same age as Misora and Akira, but as a result of her unhealthy lifestyle as a teen, she got stuck with the body of about a thirteen-year-old (which was the point, but it could have killed her).

Japan KGB Second Generation

During the Tournament Arc, original Japan KGB having proved unusually financially successful for "clothed porn", the agency decides to establish another group on the same theme, centered on their longtime model Sarashina Utako as the "K". A talent search to round out the lineup settles on women's sumo wrestler Nosaka Nagisa as the "G", and trans high school student Nekomiya Miya as the "B".

    Sarashina Utako
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sarashina_utako.jpg
Occupation: Gravure model

A high school student from a wealthy family, Sarashina Utako joins the Space Wolf agency at age seventeen.

  • Buxom Beauty Standard: Discussed in Extra Chapter 2 when some middle school students in the Greek Chorus debate the relative merits of Utako versus Misora. The female class rep comes to Misora's defense: Misora being over 25 centimeters taller and having darker skin means that Utako looks bustier by comparison, but then notes that Misora's Amazonian Beauty means she scratches different itches compared to the girlier Utako.
  • Fanservice Model: She's a much more traditional gravure model than Misora or the others: short, pale, dark-haired, curvy as all get-out.
  • Feminine Women Can Cook: Not only can she cook, she can cook French.
  • I Have Boobs, You Must Obey!: She specifically says she wants to use her large breasts to "heal the world".
  • Incorruptible Pure Pureness: Utako Sarashina is so nice and pure that in modeling sessions the photographers even try to cover her more, despite being a gravure idol. She even once got a burglar to pull a Heel–Face Turn because her fragrance reminded him of home. This inspired her modeling career: she hopes to use her breasts to "heal the world". It also inspires Big Sister Instinct on the part of Misora when her parents try to match her up with sleazy modeling scout Toro Samon.
  • Rape as Backstory: Subverted, surprisingly. She surprised a burglar as a teenager, who jumped on her... and then started sobbing into her chest and then fell asleep. He turned out to be an exploited immigrant and her fragrance reminded him of home, and she convinced him to testify against his boss. This inspired her idea to use her bosom to "heal the world".
  • Ridiculously Successful Future Self: The ending of Chapter 82 reveals that Utako eventually becomes Secretary-General of the United Nations.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: Her father and grandfather both work for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and her mother is a UN ambassador. When the Ministry of Justice realizes Maomao's documents are fake and tries to deport her back to Myanmar, she namedrops them and threatens to film the arrest, and with Chae and Mika threatening to fight them, the immigration officers back down. She later got her parents to adopt Maomao as Sarashina Masumi.
  • Uptown Girl: Her parents and grandfather are all extremely high-ranking diplomats.
  • Younger Than They Look: She's only seventeen when she's introduced, which means that she's legally not even allowed to go fully nude on camera until after a Time Skip. Her well-developed figure and mature bearing cause her to come off as a few years older.

    Nosaka Nagisa
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nosaka_nagisa.jpg
Occupation: Gravure model
Special Talent: Sumo Wrestling

The yokozuna (world champion) of Japan's women's sumo league, Nosaka Nagisa is introduced during the Tournament Arc as the entrant for the opening match of "G" bracket. Coincidentally, this is also her cup size and her position in Japan KGB Second Generation after she tries out.

  • Alliterative Name: Nosaka Nagisa.
  • Amazonian Beauty: As a sumo wrestler, she fills this niche in Japan KGB Second Generation much as Misora herself does in the first generation. She's 167 cm and weighs 64 kilos, and models in swimsuits.
  • Ascended Fangirl: Nosaka was inspired to become a rikishi after watching Sumo Wrestling on TV as a young girl, but chafes against the women's league dress code requiring her to wear a leotard under her mawashi belt. She wants to go fully topless in a match like male rikishi, and decided to become a model after Misora showed up for her opening bout in the Tournament Arc in a skimpy swimsuit. The looser rules of the pay-per-view tournament lead to her turning up to her match with Eve Ogundipe in just a mawashi and nipple pasties.
  • Chafing Against the Dress Code: Nosaka strongly dislikes that the women's dress code for sumo requires her to wear a leotard under her mawashi, wishing to show up to a match in just the mawashi like the male wrestlers she admires. Beruko suggests she's an exhibitionist, which Nosaka denies.
  • Covert Pervert: She's a closet exhibitionist.
    • First alluded to in chapter 52, when Nagisa expresses her desire to fight topless just as men are allowed to do in traditional Sumo wrestling. To which, Akira and Beruko both call her out as an exhibitionist even though Nagisa vehemently denies the accusation. It's eventually confirmed by the narration of chapter 56, which says Nagisa got wet from finally being able to expose her breasts in public during her match against Eve.
Nagisa: (inner monologue) "Aahn! I... I'm gonna cum before the match! ♥ ♥ It feels so GOOD!"
    • In chapter 83, seeing Misora and Guseva strip down to micro-bikinis for the finals made Nagisa jealous and secretly wished she had done the same thing for her match. The next panel is an X-rayed audience shot of Nagisa seated with her hand shoved down the front of her sweatpants, fingering herself as she's dripping.
  • Megaton Punch: Her slaps are as strong as Misora's punches. It's a classical sumo move, explained in an infodump in chapter 52 as having produced the fastest K.O. in martial arts history in a 1993 match between Kushiumi and Kyoudouzan: Kyoudouzan compared it to "flipping the circuit breaker" by rattling the brain stem. When she and Misora square off for a sparring match during her audition, Nosaka becomes the first person in the series to actually beat her in a fair fight using this move, and breaks it out again to win her match against Eve Ogundipe.
  • Not So Above It All: She'd probably be one of the last people anyone would suspect of masturbating, given her stoic demeanor and her rigid lifestyle. But seeing a penis for the first time in her life made her horny enough to have to rub one out later that night. She does it again in chapter 83 in a packed arena by slipping her hand down her sweatpants.
  • Passionate Sports Girl: Though sumo is her true love, she spends most of her time in one sort of physical training or other: she also trains with her university's boxing, wrestling, and judo clubs.
  • Ship Tease: She's shown masturbating after getting an eyeful of Miya's penis when she had a Wardrobe Malfunction during a pay-per-view event.
  • Worthy Opponent: She's very gracious to Eve after beating her, remarking after the Nigerian regains consciousness that had this been a dambé match, she would have been disqualified for striking with her left hand. Eve laughs and retorts that she would have been disqualified in a sumo match for striking with a closed fist, so they're even, and embraces her.

    Nekomiya Miya
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nekomiya_miya.jpg
Occupation: Gravure model
Special Talent: Breakdancing

A sixteen-year-old trans woman who gets selected to be the "B" in Japan KGB Second Generation.

  • Calling the Old Man Out: She unloads on her father in chapter 53 after he objects to her pursuing an idol career. She rejects his demands for her to be a "normal" woman if she's going to be a woman at all, saying people are going to look at her as a freak no matter what, so she's going to own it.
Dad: Why can't you settle down and do as I say?! If you're going to be a woman, be a woman, but be normal! Appearing in public in that getup, you'll draw attention and looks from—
Miya: (punches the wall) Don't make me laugh, Dad. I've been normal my whole life. People will look at me like I'm a freak no matter what! You know?! Just watch, Daddy. I'll make it so you can brag to everyone, "Nekomiya Miya is my daughter."
  • Our Nudity Is Different: Implied. She's only sixteen, but Japan's vice laws apparently haven't caught up to the presence of out trans women in modeling: she's able to appear topless in a pay-per-view event, whereas Utako wasn't back when she was underage.
  • Sobriquet Sex Switch: Her correct name "Miya" is an alternate pronunciation of the kanji making up her deadname "Yoshinari".
  • Trans Tribulations: Miya still has to attend a boys' school in boys' uniform, and her father constantly deadnames her and seems to still think she's just going through a phase despite the fact he's been paying for her HRT and counseling for the better part of a decade. Even Sanada Hikaru briefly calls her an "okama" (Japanese slang for a feminine-presenting gay man), though he's immediately called out for it by Yajima. Misora and the others are nothing but supportive towards her: even after she has a Wardrobe Malfunction during a shoot, they choose to just consider her penis a really big clit, comparing it to Misora's.

Agency Staff

    Sanada Hikaru
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sanada_hikaru.jpg
Occupation: Modeling agent

Space Wolf's company president. Though sleazy and well-connected, he turns out to be a much more decent man than initial impressions would indicate. Old friends with his talent scout Yajima Nibuko.

    Yajima Nibuko
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yajima_nibuko.jpg
Occupation: Talent scout and office manager

Sanada Hikaru's high school friend-turned-office manager. Has a degree in social psychology.

  • Above the Influence: Lampshaded and briefly discussed during the after hours party in chapter 28. Leia notes that Yajima has a harem working for him and asks "which one" of them he intends to take home that night. The other models agree, including Akira, when Yuki volunteers herself along with her for a threeway. Beruko says that he should choose her instead. Yajima appears to consider the offer for a moment before Kurisu silently makes it clear that she isn't sharing him with anyone.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Hikaru was the resident tough guy in their hometown and saved him from bullies after they became videogaming buddies. He saved him again from yakuza he got involved with as an adult and hired him at the modeling agency when he was starting out.
  • Beta Couple: Yashiki Kurisu propositions him while drunk in chapter 23. They become regular lovers and start officially dating in chapter 28.
  • Extreme Libido:
    • Extreme enough that he was able to bone Kurisu for several hours straight and left her wobbly legged by the time he was done with her. She then happily told her friends (quote):
"I'm now dating Yajima. I'm so happy he'll be fucking me nonstop ♥."
    • He makes good on it during the latter half of chapter 66, this time, at Kurisu's apartment. Yajima takes a breather while Kurisu marvels that he made her cum 5 times. He then asks if his penis is his only value to her. She assures him that her feelings for him are far deeper than that, causing him to instantly get another erection and immediately begins plowing her for the sixth time that night.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: Combined with an Intergenerational Friendship, since Yajima was still in grade school when he first met Sanada who was already in his college years. Yajima explains, via flashback, that he greatly admired Sanada and wanted to become just like him. So when they met again years later and Sanada offered him a position at his (then) fledgling modelling agency, Yajima gladly accepted.
  • My Girl Is a Slut: Downplayed. While it's true that his girlfriend, Kurisu, is a gravure modelnote , her career opportunities are rare because her biracial ethnicity makes her unappealing to most Japanese men. She mainly supports herself by doing part-time work elsewhere.
  • Nice Guy: He's shown to be polite and a diligent worker.
  • Nerd Glasses: It's mentioned that he's been an honors student since as early as grade school, to the present day.
  • Not So Above It All: Despite trying to maintain a professional working-class relationship with the gravure models at the agency, he eventually develops a crush on Kurisu. She finally becomes aware of it by chapter 28 and bluntly tells him he should be up-front about it and go steady with her. Yajima consents.
  • Official Couple: He begins dating Kurisu from chapter 28 onwards, but she doesn't confess her feelings for him 'til the latter half of chapter 66.
  • Right-Hand Hottie: He's depicted as a handsome young salaryman in glasses, who serves as the assistant manager to his boss and mentor figure, Sanada.

    Akihoshi Leia
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/akihoshi_leia_8.jpg
Occupation: Modeling manager
Formerly: gravure model and High-Class Call Girl

A second-string Space Wolf model who moonlights as a High-Class Call Girl. After one of her johns puts her in the hospital, Sanada reassigns her to being the younger gravure models' personal manager.

  • Beauty Is Never Tarnished: Cruelly subverted in chapter 29, courtesy of Ikezaki horrifically beating her face to a bloody pulp purely on a whim.
  • Cool Big Sis: To the younger gravure models at the Space Wolf agency. When she wound up hospitalized by Ikezaki, the other models took it personally, prompting Kurisu to set Ikezaki up on a date with Misora so the latter could exact vengeance on him. Following Leia's recovery, Sanada promotes her to being the girls' personal manager. Thus making her position as their 'Big Sis' official.
  • Disposable Sex Worker: Discussed. The police don't care much about a sex worker being beaten up, so Misora and Kurisu take matters into their own hands.
  • Drowning My Sorrows: Her usual refuge whenever she's feeling down about her lackluster modelling career, along with her age and her nonexistent love life. In one instance, Leia tearfully confides that Misora's success gives her hope that maybe some of it will eventually rub off on her.
  • High-Class Call Girl: Sanada says she's worked as "a professional mistress" for ten years.
  • Old Maid: She's introduced as a 29-year-old struggling gravure model who's past her prime, despite her looks and sex appeal. So she's had to compensate by moonlighting as a high-class call girl and professional mistress to middle aged businessmen and "sugar daddies" in order to get by.
  • Rank Up: After she heals from being beaten up by Dr. Ikezaki, Sanada hires her to be the girls' talent manager.
    Leia: Viva a regular salary!

    Yashiki Kurisu
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yashiki_kurisu.png
Occupation: Gravure model (part-time)

A 24-year-old gravure model at the Space Wolf agency. Her freckled face and her Japanese/American biracial ethnicity hampers her modelling career opportuities, because it lessens her appeal to Japanese men.

  • Beta Couple: She first comes onto Yajima and has sex with him during chapter 23, the night after dumping her freeloading ex. It happens again in chapter 28, upon seeing Yajima get a boner for her. Kurisu tells him to stake his claim, so he makes it official by thoroughly ravishing her again.
  • Brutal Honesty: Mainly when it comes to advising Utako that she shouldn't follow Leia's advice, or her example. And moreso when joking with Leia, whom Kurisu playfully refers to as, "a slutty Milf".
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Seen twice during chapter 28:
    • Initially downplayed for comedy during the after hours party, when Leia and the other models offer to let Yajima have sex with them. Except Kurisu puts a stop to it by using her foot to pinch his crotch under the table. He takes the hint and changes the subject.
    • It leads to a heartwarming moment only minutes later. Hearing about his bromance with Sanada made her jealous, so she decides to give him all the things Sanada can't.
  • Extreme Libido: A trait she and her new boyfriend, Yajima, share in common.
  • Hollywood Homely: An In-Universe example. Kurisu rarely gets any modelling opportuities, despite being modestly attractive with a naturally athletic figure. The main reasons being, her freckled face and her biracial ethnicity, both of which make her unappealing to most Japanese men. When she tries to join the "Second Generation KGB" by pointing out her (almost) G-cup sized breasts, Sanada denies her request and flatly dismisses her as a "third rate" model.
  • Love Confession: Kurisu finally confesses her feelings for Yajima during the latter half of chapter 66.
  • Making Love in All the Wrong Places: She propositions Yajima for sex in his office during chapter 23. The second time starts with her playing footsie with his crotch under the table during chapter 28. Yajima heads off to the Mens room, followed shortly by Kurisu who confronts him with his crush on her. Yajima relents and screws her in one of the stalls for several hours.
  • Official Couple: With her new boyfriend Yajima. Notably, they're the only monogamous couple in the manga.
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: Dumped her unseen freeloading ex-boyfriend and ends up falling for her hardworking assistant manager, Yajima, soon afterward.
  • Sleeping with the Boss: Outright stated by Kurisu herself when she breaks the news to Misora and Leia:
Kurisu: (weak-kneed after marathon sex session) "I'm now dating Yajima. I'm so happy he'll be fucking me nonstop ♥."
  • Vitriolic Best Friends: With Akihoshi Leia, whom Kurisu playfully refers to as "a slutty Milf". It's later noted that Kurisu regards Leia as her big sister figure, given that Kurisu is 5 years younger than her.
  • Wife-Basher Basher: She collaborates with Misora to take revenge on Dr. Ikezaki for beating up Leia, playing the role of Misora's madam to get them in a room together.
  • Youthful Freckles: She's notable for her freckles and her short wavy blonde hair, which gives away her biracial ethnicity.

Other Characters

    Victor Iba
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/victor_iba.jpg
Occupation: Film director

The AV director who organized the hundred-man kumite in the first Story Arc, he later tries to break out into mainstream filmmaking with the B-Movie Fist of the Tokyo She-Beast, also starring Misora. He knows a surprising amount about martial arts, although he doesn't practice himself.

    Goujima Sara
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/goujima_sara.jpg
Occupation: Physicist and extreme porn star
Special Talent: Capoeira

Real name Kojima Akiko, Goujima Sara first appears as an opponent #27 in the hundred-man kumite. A multitalented young woman who began acting in extreme porn while barely legal, she's something of a frenemy to Misora.

  • Brains and Bondage: She's well-known for her work in extreme hardcore porn as domme, sub, and even director. She uses it to fund her university education in physics. She also speaks English fluently, a relative rarity in Japan (by way of contrast, Akira's English is merely passable and Misora's is nonexistent).
  • Children Raise You: She softens up a bit from her tough-as-nails and shamelessly slutty earlier self after becoming a mother in chapter 22.
  • Clark Kenting: Much like the genuine article, she avoids being recognized on the street by wearing frumpy clothes and Purely Aesthetic Glasses.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: She's Misora's toughest opponent in the hundred-man kumite and comes the closest of any of them to winning before Misora takes her down with a kick to the chin. She becomes quite a bit friendlier afterwards, though it takes a couple of years before they can properly consider each other friends.
  • Depraved Bisexual: Her first and third appearances in the manga put her at odds with Misora (first trying to have sex with her with Questionable Consent during the hundred-man kumite, then the whole IOC incident), and she still often gropes her. Some of it's for professional purposes but there's no denying she enjoys it, and she was rather miffed to learn Hara Akira took Misora's virginity before she could.
  • Hopeless Suitor: Sarah tries to have her way with Misora several times and continues to lust after her, even after Misora officially hooks up with Akira. She desperately tries to relieve her pent-up frustrations in orgies after each failed attempt, but it usually doesn't work.
  • Meaningful Rename: She considers her Stage Name Goujima Sara to be her real identity and her legal name Kojima Akiko a relic of the Dark and Troubled Past she left behind when she became a porn star.
  • Phallic Weapon: Inverted. During the hundred-man kumite she tries to penetrate Misora with a strap-on that has "Ginsu" written on the shaft.
  • Rape as Backstory: Maybe? She initially tells Misora that her stepfather had a liking for underage girls and started raping her when she was ten. She paid him back by seducing the toughest delinquent in town in exchange for beating the crap out of her dad, then slept her way through her high school before moving to Tokyo to become a porn star. Though she later tells a different backstory with contradictory details. When Misora calls her out on it, Sara forces her to drink more.
  • Really Gets Around: Her high sex drive serves her very well in her job as a porn star. She'll have sex with anyone and anything, in any combination, top, bottom, left or right.
  • Secret Sex Worker: She uses her career as an extreme porn star to fund her undergraduate degree in physics under her birth name Kojima Akiko. She's proud of her porn career and considers it her real identity, but still conceals it from the other students and her professors behind a Clark Kenting disguise.
  • Single Mom Stripper: By chapter 22, two years have gone by In-Universe, and she shows up to dine out with Misora carrying a months-old son named Haiji (she's bottle-feeding in the middle of dinner and drinks) without there being any prior mention that she had been pregnant.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: She has a seriously foul mouth even for a series that almost routinely verges on hentai. Misora even chides her once for cussing in front of her infant son while drunk.
Misora: ...and you're being vulgar in front of Haiji-kun! It's not good for his education!
Sara: Oh, stop! He doesn't understand! (to Haiji) Cunt dick pussy balls!
  • Waif-Fu: She practices capoeira and is one of the first opponents to give Misora a real challenge, despite the Okinawan being a full head taller and at least half-again her body mass.

    Toro Samon
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/toro_samon.jpg
Occupation: Modeling scout

A sleazy pervert from a powerful family, Toro Samon is introduced as the organizer of the TV event that sent Misora after an anteater escaped from a zoo. He reappears early in the Tournament Arc after using his connections to arrange an engagement to Utako Sarashina.

  • Became Their Own Antithesis: Toro Samon started off as a sleazebag antagonist who used his family's power to sleep with any female entertainer he fancied. He fell in Love at First Sight with Eve, an African woman, and chose to win her genuine affection on his own merits, wanting to make love to her rather than seeing her as a conquest. He fights her in a Dambe match and manages to win when she strikes him with her left hand. After her match, he has been respectful enough that she respects him. Finally, his reaction to meeting Misora again has him genuinely thank her for sending him overseas, where he met the most amazing woman ever (Eve), whereas he was cursing her for it when he first left.
  • Casting Couch: He's notorious for using the promise of a modeling career to extract sexual favors from women. This motivates Big Sister Instinct from Misora on the part of the innocent and pure Utako.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Bluntly, he was a horrible person before he met and fell in love with Eve Ogundipe.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: He offers to break off the marriage to Utako in exchange for Misora becoming his Sex Slave, and promises to "bleach your shit-colored skin with my cum". Misora has other ideas.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: He uses his wealth and connections to sleep with vulnerable women, as well as to get an Arranged Marriage to Utako. Fortunately for Utako, Misora's connections are better than his: she gets Narumi to send him packing to Africa, ostensibly to find African Action Girls for Valkyrie Opera, in exchange for entering herself, derailing the marriage to Utako.

    Haebaru Tatehito
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/haebaru_tatehito.png
Occupation: Karate Sensei

Misora's beloved father, who taught her karate and died in an accident about a year before the series begins.

  • Make It Look Like an Accident: ...Maybe? The police ruled his death—from injuries sustained falling from the fort battlement where he liked to practice his kata—to be an accident, which Tatehito himself also insisted to his dying breath. But it was still That One Case for the local police chief because it just doesn't make sense. Add to that, Laila Mendez's handler Jeremy Friedman has some kind of connection to him...
  • Posthumous Character: He's been dead about a year by the time Misora arrives in Tokyo.
  • Sudden Name Change: His given name was initially said to be Shunji, but chapter 41 changes it to Tatehito without explanation.
  • Wax On, Wax Off: Downplayed: while he didn't use the environment to train muscle memory a la Nariyoshi Miyagi (at least not that we've been shown), his techniques were often plenty unusual. Among other things, he trained Misora to keep her balance and withstand attacks by beating on her from all angles while making her hold a bucket of water in each hand without spilling them.

    Dr. Ikezaki Gensuke
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ikezaki_gensuke.jpg
Occupation: Neurosurgeon

A renowned medical doctor introduced as a client of Akihoshi Leia while moonlighting as an escort, he turns out to be a sexual sadist. After Misora retaliates against him for beating up Leia, he becomes obsessed with revenge.

  • Faux Affably Evil: In his first appearance, he cheerfully beats the living daylights out of Leia. The facade completely falls apart after Misora honey traps him and breaks his hand in retaliation.
  • Karma Houdini: Justified. Ikezaki abuses his wealth and connections to keep the police and the yakuza from arresting him for his crimes, and nobody cares about a sex worker getting beaten up anyway. He's eventually caught red-handed trying to rape and murder Misora but even then he still thinks he'll get off because the police chief who arrested him is in on the Snuff Film ring.
  • Non-Action Big Bad: Downplayed. Ikezaki was a boxer at university, but he's only personally dangerous to people without martial arts training. He's completely outmatched by Misora: after what her father put her through while training her, he can hardly even bruise her.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: Even the yakuza won't touch him for beating up prostitutes: as Yashiki Kurisu puts it, to a surgeon who makes ¥100 million a year (about US$900,000), paying them off is "a business expense".
  • Vile Villain, Saccharine Show: While Booty Royale doesn't ignore that sex work can be an unpleasant and dangerous business, it's still usually a pretty light-hearted sex comedy (when it isn't being a Fighting Series). Not when this guy is involved.
  • Villain with Good Publicity: He uses his public image as a neurosurgeon, "Doctor G", to cover up his sadism.

Valkyrie Opera Arc

The Tournament Arc of the manga, which begins in volume 6, consists of an all-female pay-per-view MMA tournament organized by TV producer Narumi Shuranosuke, and introduces dozens of new characters.

    Narumi Shuranosuke
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/narumi_shuranosuke.jpg
Occupation: TV producer

A producer for Mimoto TV, Narumi Shuranosuke is a minor character during the whole anteater business, but becomes much more important as the organizer of the Valkyrie Opera tournament.

  • Amazon Chaser: He openly and rather luridly explains his adoration of strong, beautiful women when he first pitches the idea of Valkyrie Opera to Misora in Chapter 27.
Narumi: Misora-kun. Listen. I love strong, beautiful women. I lurrve them!
    Misora: (blushing) I know that.
Narumi: The body of a woman, panting hard, covered in sweat, trained—no, forged! I would like to gaze upon it 24/7, 365 days a year. Stripping her with my eyes.
    Misora: Well... that's... pretty gross!
  • Ascended Extra: He has a minor role in the first volume before coming back as a much more important character in the Tournament Arc.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: He and Victor Iba are very much alike. Yes, he openly salivates over the thought of warrior women, but that's because he has genuine respect for their skills. He encourages Misora to join the tournament and put her karate skills to work in real fights, not just as as an idol gimmick.

    Jeremy Friedman
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jeremy_friedman.png
Occupation: Defense contracting CEO

The American billionaire CEO of arms company Parthenon and the primary financial backer of Valkyrie Opera, who sweetens the pot before the quarterfinals by offering to grant any one wish of the winner. He has some kind of connection to Misora's father.

  • Arms Dealer: A legitimate one, to the US and allied militaries. According to Mika, the JSDF buys a few hundred billion yen worth of weapons from him every year.
  • Bland-Name Product: His company "Parthenon" is said to be the largest American defense contractor, making it an obvious cipher for Raytheon.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: He's shown talking on the phone to Laila Mendez in chapter 27 without being formally introduced: it seems he hired her to provoke Misora in order to get a look at her skills, and plans to "take back what I'm owed" by her father.
  • Fiction 500: In the Japanese version he claims to be one of the top five wealthiest people in the United States, which Seven Seas chose to render in English as "I'm richer than the electric car guy," presumably meaning Elon Musk. Regardless, he's a relative of the founder of Parthenon and also represents a conservative think-tank called the Imperial Institute to the White House.
  • Mysterious Past: He apparently once fought with Misora's father Tatehito, but all we know so far is him telling Misora that "Your father was tougher."
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: Due to financially backing the tournament, he prevails on Narumi to let him test his AI division's fighting robot Sigrun in H-bracket, causing a significant disruption.

    Imamiya Ebisu
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/imamiya_ebisu.png
Occupation: Professional boxer

Imamiya Ebisu is a boxing prodigy who debuts in chapter 27 in her first pro match against American boxing star Laila Mendez, in the latter's comeback match after going on maternity leave.

  • Accent Adaptation: She speaks in Kansai dialect, which is rendered in the Seven Seas English translation as a Southern drawl.
  • Butt-Monkey: Both of her appearances wind up with her getting knocked senseless. First, Laila Mendez loses interest in their match in favor of challenging Misora to an unscheduled fight, and kayos her five seconds into a twelve-round match. Then she gets tapped as the alternate for Valkyrie Opera after Nasstaja Ibrahimov is forced to withdraw due to injuries, only for the inflictor of those injuries, Kujioka Mika, to drop her with a sudden kick to the stomach.
  • The Knights Who Say "Squee!": She's a big fan of Laila Mendez and was honored when the American picked her as her opponent for her comeback match, and doesn't even complain after Mendez gets distracted and curbstomps her. To a lesser extent, she also looks up to Misora, who did a profile on her for a sports segment about up-and-coming student athletes.
  • The Worf Effect: She's a professional boxer at fifteen, which should be indicative of her talent, but her only real role in the manga is to repeatedly get beaten up by more experienced fighters. She does get in an effective Megaton Punch against Misora, but only because Misora was distracted beating up Mendez for disrespecting Ebisu and trying to pick a fight with Misora.

    Laila Mendez
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/laila_mendez.jpg
Occupation: Professional boxer

A thirty-year-old Cuban-American bantamweight boxer, Laila Mendez is introduced in chapter 27 in an exhibition comeback match against Imamiya Ebisu. She returns in the Tournament Arc as part of E-bracket.

  • Action Mom: In her first appearance she's breastfeeding her twin babies right before her match against Ebisu-chan. Beruko is skeptical she's still got it after giving birth (Beruko's cousin apparently had problems after her pregnancy), but poor Ebisu doesn't stand a chance.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Mendez catches sight of Misora on the sidelines as a pit girl and immediately loses interest in her match with Ebisu in favor of inviting "Karate Kid" up to fight.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Mendez K.O.'s Ebisu five seconds into what should have been a ten-round match with a single left-handed Megaton Punch. Truthfully, the outcome is not unexpected: Mendez is easily a foot taller and has probably been boxing longer than Ebisu has been alive (though she apologizes after Ebisu regains consciousness).
  • Damn You, Muscle Memory!: She realizes while watching the Maomao-Guseva fight that part of what cost her when she fought Guseva was that she's used to fighting in boxing gloves rather than the thinner MMA handguards used in the tournament, which distribute the force of blows differently. She just couldn't adjust in time.
  • David Versus Goliath: She's a bantamweight boxer, and is roughly the same size as her first opponent Catherine Boisin. Not so her round of 16 opponent Alevtina Guseva, a heavyweight judoka a foot taller and almost twice her weight. She does her best to make up the deficit with speed, but once Guseva gets ahold of her it's over in an instant.
  • Made of Iron: She takes some serious abuse from Catherine Boisin in her E-bracket qualifying match, including a painful kick to the shin. She powers through and hits back with a left hook inside Boisin's Roundhouse Kick, opening a flurry of punches that puts the Frenchwoman down for the count.
Mendez: It does hurt. But... pain alone can't stop me. I'm a pro.

    Luna Karn
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/luna_karn.png
Occupation: IT executive
Special Talent: Tantric massage, kalaripayattu

An IT executive from India who comes to Japan for Valkyrie Opera, and enters the main rounds as the entrant for D-bracket.

  • Apologetic Attacker: When round of 16 opponent Umezawa Mayu returns for the final rounds as the ring judge, Luna actually apologizes for the humiliating beating she gave her in their match. Mayu assures her there's no hard feelings.
  • As Long as It Sounds Foreign: Her surname was probably supposed to be "Khan", but it's rendered as "Karn" in the official translation.
  • Badass Bookworm: She's introduced as a rather unassuming woman who gives Misora a Happy-Ending Massage. She's also an executive at an IT company, as well as a master of the Indian martial art kalaripayattu.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Make no mistake, Luna is a very nice person who loves women's bodies, but when fighting she's utterly calm, methodical and ruthless.
  • Bollywood Nerd: Luna is a beautiful woman who works for an IT company. Her wish from Jeremy Friedman is for a supercomputer to improve her ability to do her job. She also happens to be a master of the ancient martial art Kalaripayattu.
  • Dance Battler: Rather like the capoeira practiced by Goujima Sara and Emmanuella Velasquez, kalaripayattu involves a lot of fancy footwork and acrobatics, as well as a high degree of flexibility and artistic poses. She dominates her match with Umezawa Mayu by getting behind her and staying there, repeatedly kicking her in the side of the head until Airi takes pity on her and throws in the towel.
  • The Glasses Come Off: She takes off her glasses when fighting.

    Maria Louisa Riviera
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/maria_riviera.jpg
Occupation: Professional martial artist
Special Talent: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

A martial artist from Brazil, who unlike most MMA competitors fights with pure Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The quarterfinalist for B-Bracket, she specializes in grappling and pinning.

  • As Long as It Sounds Foreign: Her surname was probably meant to be "Ribeira", a common surname in southern Brazil (she's from Rio de Janeiro), but the official translation spells it as the Spanish-style "Riviera". Also they spelled her middle name "Louisa" instead of the Hispanic/Portuguese "Luisa".
  • David Versus Goliath: Her second match of the tournament's pits her against one of only two entrants even bigger than Misora: pro wrestler Veronica Lin, a giant over two meters tall. She takes a couple punches to sucker the bigger woman into a Wounded Gazelle Gambit, before outmaneuvering her and choking her out.
  • Defeat by Modesty: Attempted against Misora: after getting her in a grapple, Maria flips Misora's breasts out of her bikini and spreads her legs open to the audience just to screw with her.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: She ends up losing to Misora because she didn't want to injure Misora's breasts.
  • The Grappler: She specializes in grappling and holds and is able to fluidly adjust her center of gravity to pin far larger opponents.
  • Interplay of Sex and Violence: Discussed. She considers a high sex drive to go hand-in-hand with fighting ability, and takes it as a good sign for her upcoming quarterfinal match against Misora that she gets more sex than Misora does.
  • Lineage Comes from the Father: Her father, Jose Paulista Riviera, is a retired MMA fighter who trained her to fight. He's quoted by Victor Iba as saying that even though few top-tier fighters use pure Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu anymore, nearly everyone learns it.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: The woman loves sex, wants to have her own 24/7 sex resort, but she's for the most part a good person who genuinely likes Misora.
  • Petite Pride: She exchanges a bit of trash talk with Veronica Lin before their match: Riviera mocks Lin for her "store-bought boobs and steroid muscles", Lin retorts with a comment about Maria having a "bigger ass than tits", and Maria shakes said ass at her saying, "That's thanks to samba."
  • Really Gets Around: She's the one character in the manga who could give Goujima Sara a run for her money on promiscuity: she frequently has sex with multiple people at the same time, and once gets grounded by her father for having an orgy in his dojo. Her wish from Jeremy Friedman is even for him to buy her a private island she can turn into an orgy destination.
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: She once models a costume for Carnaval that consists of nothing but purely decorative rhinestones, highlighting rather than concealing her nipples and genitals. This segues right into a brief orgy scene.
  • Smug Smiler: Her default expression is a smug smile, and her default emotion is supreme confidence that she can overcome anything thrown at her.
  • Stripperiffic: Inspired by Misora, she shows up to her match against Veronica Lin dressed in a skimpy bikini set instead of the gi she wore in her qualifying match. She and Misora proceed to have their match in similar garb, with Misora in the slingshot bikini she wore in her opening match.
  • Wounded Gazelle Gambit: She takes a couple of punches from Veronica Lin and then cowers in front of the fence to sucker The Giant into coming close enough to ambush with a grapple. She tries it again against Misora by retreating from her strikes so it only looks like they made contact, but Misora doesn't fall for it.

    Umezawa Mayu
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/umezawa_mayu.png
Occupation: MMA fighter
Special Talent: Cosplay

A Japanese MMA fighter and cosplay model, Umezawa Mayu enters as part of D-bracket but is defeated in the round of 16 by Luna Karn. She returns for the finals as a ring judge. Practices Japanese kenpo as her primary martial art.

  • Fanservice Model: She does sexy cosplay. She shows up to her first match dressed as a fanservicey kunoichi and to her second in a School Swimsuit, and acts as ring judge in a Playboy Bunny outfit.
  • Graceful Loser: She's happy to accept Luna's apology for the rather humiliating way she beat her. The loss is just motivation for her to get better.
  • Ms. Fanservice: She wears little to no clothes in basically every panel she's in, even going fully nude for a sauna scene with Airi (whom she's old friends with).
  • Third-Person Person: She tends to refer to herself in the third person to be cutesey, even in her thought bubbles.
  • Waif-Fu: Her prelim round opponent, capoerista Emmanuella Velasquez, has eleven centimeters and nine kilos on her, but once Mayu gets used to the reach of the Brazilian's kicks, she's able to figure out how to counter. She uses a couple pinpoint strikes of Scratch Damage to weaken Velasquez enough to get her into a waki-gatame arm lock, at which point her opponent taps out.

    Alevtina Guseva
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alevtina_guseva.jpg
Occupation: Professional judoka

A judo heavyweight champ from Ukraine, Alevtina Guseva enters E-bracket and makes it to the quarterfinals.

  • Beware the Nice Ones: She's a very kind woman and good sport who doesn't take things overly seriously. But she puts Naomi Shapiro in the hospital when the Israeli tries to ambush her in the bathroom before their match, then claims the E-bracket quarterfinal entry in a fair match against Laila Mendez.
  • Big Beautiful Woman: She's a brickhouse of muscle instead of fat, with huge breasts, and she's still considered quite pretty.
  • Catching the Speedster: She beats Laila by soaking the boxer's strikes with her much greater body mass until Laila slips up: Alevtina grabs her and slams her into the mat, match over.
  • David Versus Goliath: She's very large for a woman and therefore the Goliath in all of her matches in the tournament: the only competitor bigger than her is Veronica Lin, who goes down in the round of 16 (they wouldn't have met up until the final). Her sheer size and strength makes beating her difficult even for male opponents: she's shown practicing for the finals by dojo-storming the practice rooms of several Japanese police departments, and she dreams of being named the world heavyweight champion not just of women's judo, but judo period.
  • Disqualification-Induced Victory: She's awarded placement in the round of 16 by forfeit on account of her would-be opponent Naomi Shapiro trying to ambush her in the ladies' room and getting herself knocked senseless.
  • Gentle Giant: The woman might not be the tallest participant in the tournament (Veronica Lin has twenty centimeters on her), but she's still tall, built like a brickhouse and is a pretty nice person when she's not fighting.
  • The Grappler: She's a judoka, which is all about grabbing and throwing your opponent. But, she's not just a judoka...
  • The Glasses Come Off: She wears glasses while off combat, and they make her look more calm and intellectual.
  • I Am Not Left-Handed: While known as a judoka, she's also trained in its forebear, classical jujutsu, and also practices Muay Thai on the side. This doesn't come out until she faces Maomao in the semifinal, her first match where simply grabbing and throwing her opponent wasn't sufficient (because Maomao is just that tough).
  • Prim and Proper Bun: Wears her hair in a bun and when out of the ring she's calm, modest and proper.
  • Randomly Gifted: She was born to a woman whose body was badly affected by the Chornobyl nuclear disaster, the radiation contaminating the farm she lived on as a teenager. Despite this, Alevtina was born very healthy and grew up to have a very large and powerful body. This is further notable by the fact that her twin sister was born very frail and sick.
  • World's Best Warrior: Invoked: her ambition is to become known as the world's strongest, to which end she asks Jeremy Friedman to arrange for her to compete in mens' heavyweight judo.
  • Worthy Opponent: She deeply respects Laila Mendez for keeping to the rules of boxing and fighting her with everything she's got despite their extreme difference in physical size.

    Maomao
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/maomao.jpg
Special Talent: Lethwei

A street-fighter from Myanmar of Rohingya descent who practices lethwei. Finalist for G-Bracket.

  • Amazonian Beauty: She's certainly ripped, but even with all the scarring she's still considered quite beautiful.
  • Combat Pragmatist: This is a requirement of her primary art lethwei, an extreme form of muay thai where professional matches only end in a knockout. Examples:
  • Covered in Scars: Her body is full of scars, big and small, all of it reflecting her harsh background in Myanmar. She's even been shot at least twice, as well as having mismatched eyes from an injury. The man she was sold to as a Sex Slave was a sexual sadist and cut her up and jammed his thumb into her eye, then she was shot escaping his villa.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: She's Covered in Scars and it's clear she did not have a pleasant childhood. Chapter 80 reveals that she's Rohingya, a Muslim ethnic minority long persecuted by the Myanmarese military dictatorship, which favors the Buddhist majority (Truth in Television, unfortunately). Maomao, nee Yasmin, saw her parents murdered right in front of her by soldiers, who in turn tortured and (implicitly) raped her. She was then sold as a slave to a rich man who regularly tortured and raped her. When she finally tried to escape, she was shot twice in the back and fell over a cliff. Thankfully, she was found by the man who became her teacher afterwards.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: The ending of Chapter 82 reveals that Maomao is ultimately successful in seeking asylum in Japan thanks to Utako and her family's connections. Adopted into the Sarashina family as Sarashina Masumi, Maomao studies law and eventually becomes a lawyer for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. She and her new sister Utako (who becomes Secretary-General of the United Nations) work together to aid in refugee relief.
  • Given Name Reveal: After telling Yun-Hui about her Dark and Troubled Past, Maomao reveals that her birth name is Yasmin.
  • Made of Iron: She's a good fighter, but, as we learn when she fights Sigrun the robot, her real talent is her ability to fight through pain: to take hits and keep coming.
  • Red Baron: She earned the nickname "Chamma Lutam" ("fate killer") in Myanmar's lethwei circuits through her ability to defeat stronger and more skilled opponents by simply refusing to give up no matter how badly she was hurt.
  • Signature Move: She practices the "magic bullet", a feint-strike combo that transitions from a straight strike to an outside hook, and can do it with either punches or kicks. According to Narumi, she developed it entirely on her own: it's not a standard lethwei move.

    Chae Yun-Hui
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chae_yun_hui.jpg
Occupation: Dancer
Special Talent: Taekwondo

A Korean-American taekwondoin, Chae Yun-Hui is the lead dancer for the idol group Crunch, as well as the winner of the Taekwondo All-America Open. She first appears in the Fist of the Tokyo She-Beast arc playing the villainess, "the Karate Cyborg K-11", then returns as an entrant for H-Bracket in Valkyrie Opera.

  • Ambiguously Bi: She claims to be straight, but she enjoys groping other women's breasts a little too much. According to her, "the desire for boobs is universal!"
  • The Bus Came Back: She's a foil to Misora while filming Fist of the Tokyo She-Beast who returns later for the Tournament Arc.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: She turns the Hot Springs Episode in chapter 64 into a Furo Scene, trying to get a look at all the other women's boobs. However, she stops when she catches sight of the scars on Maomao's back and puts the woman's towel back over her, clearly worried she made her uncomfortable.
  • Combat Pragmatist: She tries to even the odds in her Flesh Versus Steel match against Sigrun the robot by throwing her shirt over its head, and doesn't have a problem deliberately breaking human opponents' bones.
  • Kick Chick: Justified: she practices taekwondo, which is a very kick-centric martial art. In their first meeting, Misora gets a little gun-shy about the reach of Yun-Hui's feet, causing problems with the film's fight scenes, and ends up having a sparring match with her during the Hot Springs Episode to help her get over it.
  • Odd Friendship: She goes out of her way to befriend the brooding and antisocial Maomao, and surprisingly it works, and they do become close.
  • Taught by Experience: Yun-Hui realizes from sparring with Misora that blocks can be just as destructive as attacks, and uses that knowledge to win her opening bout against Dutch karateka Beatrice Kromkamp by blocking the other woman's Roundhouse Kick with her knee hard enough to break both Kromkamp's leg bones.

    Kujioka Mika
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kujioka_mika.jpg
Occupation: TV announcer
Special Talent: Modern karate

A TV announcer introduced in the lead-up to Valkyrie Opera, Kujioka Mika is a nationally-ranked karateka who fights with skill and ruthlessness. Enters C-Bracket.

  • Blood Knight: She visibly enjoys beating the crap out of some Chinese gangsters who come to try to extort money from a massage parlor frequented by several cast members.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Mika fights to win, and enjoys doing so.
    • Start with that knee to the crotch she opens with against the gangsters.
    • In her opening bout against Kazakh wrestler Nasstaja Ibrahimov, she works around the other woman's size advantage by punching one of her floating ribs into her kidney, causing organ failure that forces her to drop out despite winning the match by K.O. She then incapacitates Imamiya Ebisu with a kick to the stomach when she tries to sub in as the alternate, forcing the organizers to let her advance to the round of 16 match against Olga Zelenskaya.
    • She goes so far against Luna Karn, breaking her collarbone, jaw, and multiple joints even after it's clear that Luna can't continue that the audience is shocked into silence and Misora slaps her across the face when she exits the ring. For her part, Mika argues she had no idea what her opponent was capable of, so she took her down hard.
  • Disqualification-Induced Victory: Invoked: realizing Ibrahimov is too strong to take head-on, she deliberately breaks one of the wrestler's ribs into her kidney, forcing her to drop out due to organ damage.
  • Evil Counterpart: To Misora. They're both national-level karateka, but where Misora was trained in traditional, self-defense-oriented style, Mika learned the modern version of karate and is a ruthless tournament fighter who has zero problem deliberately hurting people, seeming to even enjoy it. Mika gives Misora a serious beating, but after a Heroic Second Wind, Misora figures out Mika's rhythm and takes her down.
  • Fish out of Water: She's Japanese by birth, but spent a good chunk of her childhood living in Los Angeles where her father was working before moving back to Japan as a teenager. She didn't acclimate well to Japanese culture, karate lessons started as a way to vent stress before becoming her favorite pastime.
  • Made of Iron: Mika loses her opening bout by knockout (only to then get a Disqualification-Induced Victory) and then takes a pretty heavy beating from Olga Zelenskaya before taking her down. Luna observes before their quarterfinal match that her injuries haven't completely healed in the intervening time, but it doesn't slow her down much.
  • Soft-Spoken Sadist: A quiet and rather unassuming woman, she seems to actively enjoy injuring her opponents during her matches.

Occupation: Pro wrestler and MMA fighter

An American pro wrestler reputed to be the largest woman in the world, Veronica Lin worked as a heel before taking up non-scripted fights in MMA.

  • Ambiguously Brown: Her ethnicity isn't mentioned, but the shape of her eyes and the transliteration of her surname's katakana リヌ as "Lin" suggest she might be intended to be Chinese-American (or at least that Seven Seas is interpreting her as such: it could also be the English "Lynn", which is what the scanlation uses).
  • Face of a Thug: She's not exactly traditionally attractive, befitting a pro wrestling heel, but she's not nearly as bad as she acts on the ring.
  • Fake Boobs: She has implants, presumably because not every female athlete is as fortunate as Misora to be able to keep her endowment in spite of her exercise regimen. Maria mocks her for this before their match, but Lin returns the favor with a jab about Maria's butt being bigger than her boobs.
  • The Giant: She's 205 centimeters and weighs 110 kilos, and worked as a pro wrestling heel before switching to MMA.
  • Lightning Bruiser: She's much faster than you'd think someone that size would be: she reputedly won her first MMA fight with a knockout that took only seconds, and turns her opening bout against vale tudoist Elena Silva into a Curb-Stomp Battle with sheer brute force.
  • Megaton Punch: Getting into a slugging match with her is likened to trying to fistfight a tractor trailer. Elena Silva learns that the hard way.
  • Stripperiffic: In her first match she's wearing a lace-up vinyl bra and hotpants. In her second, apparently inspired by Misora and by mutual agreement with Maria Luisa, she shows up in a skimpy bikini and thong.
  • The Worf Effect: Her main role in the manga is to be built up as a major threat, then get dramatically taken out to establish just how good Misora's quarterfinal opponent Maria Luisa is.
