openWesternAnimation.{{Primal}} was just turned into a disambig...
EDIT: Mods... Can one of you move WesternAnimation.Primal to Main.Primal, please?
WesternAnimation.Primal was just turned into a disambig...
But there's only one Western Animation with that name...
And policy is not to make Disambigs unless two works share a namespace and title?
Or it conficts with a trope?
I guess we keep the WesternAnimation.Primal 2019, because there are at least title clashes...
I guess turn plain WesternAnimation.Primal into a simple redirect to the work?
Edited by MaladyopenPossible edit wars Videogame
Characters.Super Mario Bros Bowser has had a couple entries added by some tropers and then deleted by others, and the history page has some shoehorned examples as well as speculation. I feel like edit wars may happen soon, if not already.
openSpoiled Sweet Live Action TV
I've noticed some examples of Spoiled Sweet were removed from Degrassi: The Next Generation's character page. I looked at the Clean Up page and while there is noted misuse, there does seem to be some stinginess on the part of the cleaning though I will say a lot of the context is in the character descriptions. These are the examples:
- Spoiled Sweet: She's very genial and actually tries to work hard to earn her due, despite being spoiled.
- This was for Tori Santamaria. I'll accept that one being nuked as it's unclear whether or not she was upper class, she was just a pageant girl.
- Spoiled Sweet: After therapy she becomes a lot more relaxed and friendly, at least to Holly J.
- This was for character Fiona Coyne, an upper-class girl with old money and is the daughter of a diplomat, who starts off as aloof and bitchy but after getting treatment for her mental issues and alcoholism, she becomes a lot more confident and friendlier and uses her money to help her friends and cares less about social standing. She even gets a job after running into money issues, though it was an adjustment. I can accept that one being nuked as I do feel the character is Spoiled Sweet, but it came after character development.
- Spoiled Sweet: Frankie isn't at all mean or catty or an Alpha Bitch, despite her wealthy parents.
This is for Frankie, rich girl, daughter of the mayor. This was removed in unfairness, as Frankie fits this trope to a T. She's very nice to all students of Degrassi until they're mean to her, but she's sheltered as well in terms of how the world works not in her rich white girl bubble.
So thoughts?
open Why do some Character pages have character images with borders?
Something I've noticed with Character pages like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars is that, unlike a lot of other works, their characters have bordered profile shots? As in, black frames covering a lot if not all character photos.
Why is that, exactly? It's really jarring when coming from other articles and frankly speaking clashes with the site's UI.
openTroper changing other users' edits on X Meets Y pages.
Troper tvtropesZeroSeven has been recently doing several edits on X Meets Y pages and essentially changing examples that other users have put up into their own, without edit reasons. I feel that this troper is unilaterally judging each example as incorrect, even though by the page's very nature, users are free to post their own views about what makes the work similar to others.
openBan Evader
So, today after the ATT report about the Laconic. The Sociopath page, I took a look into the history and discovered the sinkhole problem was the fault of one E Dav 1994. What really struck me as suspicious was that, a few months earlier, another person had posted on that page- Dav 1994.
Dav was suspended for uploading an image in defiance of a commented-out-note, and disappeared from Edit Banned after only a few posts. Apparently, they'd decided to make a new account instead of appealing. It's a little strange how they managed to fly under the radar which such a unique and new username, but hey.
opensinkhole filled laconic
Laconic. The Sociopath needs to be rewritten because it is currently full of sinkholes. To be specific:

open Edit War on Trivia/TwelveForever
The Remedy 91 and LTM 402 seem to be having an argument on Twelve Forever over whether Julia Vickerman is a pedophile. To their credit, they do seem to be communicating with each other... in the edit reasons, as they keep changing the example back and forth. (Personally, I have no idea who Julia Vickerman is; I stumbled on the edit war purely by accident while reviewing The Remedy 91's edits to decide whether or not to PM them explaining the difference between "it's" and "its.")

Is there a Genre called Idol Anime, or should I change its only wick to something else, like Idol Singer?
openAlphabetizing fanfics and music
When Alphabetizing fanfics should it be done by the name of the fanfic or by the work it belongs to?
And when alphabetizing Music, should it be by the name of the band/singer or by the song's title?
Edited by BlackMage43openMoving from Ho Yay subpage to Homoerotic Subtext subpage
Given the meaning of Ho Yay and Homoerotic Subtext is now sufficiently clear, which means there'd be cases where entire Ho Yay/ subpages (for a work) would be moved to Homoerotic Subtext/ . Other than usual etiquette, is there a reason to redirect the Ho Yay page to Homoerotic Subtext page?
openDoes Spoilers Off for Moment subpages apply to their images?
Hey guys. I know that moment subpages like Heartwarming or Tear Jerker are supposed to be spoilers off as per the policy, but I've been getting some inconsistent information about their images. I've been seeing several subpages that feature spoilers in their images and I added an image for the Tear Jerker subpage for one fanfic (I didn't write the fanfic, but I've been the only doing any edits or wicking for it, so no one has tried to cut the image since I added it) depicting one of the final scenes where a characters dies under the assumption that it was ok because spoilers off for Tear Jerker pages. Earlier today however, I saw a thread in the Image Pickin' forum about the Nightmare Fuel page for Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time featuring an image spoiling a twist with people suggesting to cut it. So what's the deal with images for moment subpages? Can they contain spoilers or not? Or is it only certain works that are allowed to have spoilers for their subpage images? I'm asking not just so that I know if I need to replace that image or not, but also for future reference so that I don't give later editors a lot of trouble by making them fix my own mistakes.
openRecreating cut pages Anime
I would like to recreate the following pages that were cut recently:
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Fanon/LoveLive
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/EpilepticTrees/LoveLive
Reason for the cut page was: Page made by a banned user, entries untrustworthy, unverifiable, or just plain flawed due to issues with said user.
It seems that the pages were cut mainly because of the user because nobody has actually asked and verified the entries present there.
Edited by lenne18openCan I do cleanup on LyricalDissonance? Music
Yesterday, I checked out the Lyrical Dissonance page, and noticed that many of the songs listed were in fact songs with both sad lyrics and a sad melody. (The prime example would be "Youngstown" by Bruce Springsteen. Go and listen to it right now; it's probably Bruce's most underrated song.)
Is it cool with everyone if I go ahead and delete those faulty examples?
(And seriously, go listen to "Youngstown." You'll be happy you did.)
EDIT: I've deleted every example that I know is wrong. Be great if somebody who knows the other music helped out with the rest. Thanks, mates!
Edited by MichaelKatsuroopenDoes this belong in Fan Works or Web Animation?
OK, I just created the page for Star Trek Logical Thinking and, like any good troper, I want to cross-wick it. For newbies, that basically means, I want to put the examples on their trope pages. Trouble— does it belong in Fan Works (because it's based on Star Trek) or Web Animation (because it was animated on the Internet)?
openHo Yay and related tropes edit wars
The Ho Yay cleanup thread and related tropes, like Ship Tease, Ambiguously Gay, and Homoerotic Subtext, have noted issues with the Neon Genesis Evangelion pages and other popular anime/manga, and as such there's a lot of edit wars and mass deletions on certain pages ensuing. It seems to be partly from misuse of the preceding tropes but should still probably be looked at before it spirals further.

openWhy do inbounds keep a page from being cut?
For example, when a page in the Main namespace is moved to Administrivia, but the Main page has over 1,000 inbound links. What exactly would happen if a page with thousands of inbounds is cut? Does something bad happen?
openSingle word tropes
How do you link a trope that only uses one word? When I try it shows up as it is, not even as a broken link.
I've a thing to ask: recently I've worked on Inktober, and, rather than make independent pictures, I've used the prompts to work in a single story, keeping in mind this site among various things as a source of tropes. I was thinking if I could make a page about it here, though I'm afraid that: 1): Being submitted on Deviant Art and Instagram isn't enough to make it a Webcomic, and I've no idea on how to classify it otherwise. 2): This would be a serious abuse of There Is No Such Thing as Notability 3): As much as I like my work, I probably shouldn't be the one to suggest a page. I do not expect a positive result, but I'd like to know if there's a chance.
