Saw Strange World, it's alright but Turning Red is definitely the more emotional film in my opinion.
Turning Red was the stand out Disney and/or Pixar movie this go round yeah. Strange World and Lightyear were both good IMO but Turning Red was a much stronger film.
Puss In Boots and Del Toro's Pinoke are probably going to give it some very steep competition, though.
"Lucian, don’t be afraid, we’ll make it through this."Wait, there was another Pixar this year? >.>
Lightyear was eh. I liked what I saw of Turning Red and I absolutely adored Puss in Boots. I would really like for it to win.
You can only write so much in your forum signature. It's not fair that I want to write a piece of writing yet it will cut me off in the midDidn't see any new animated movies in 2022 besides Turning Red, but I'm willing to bet Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio will win in that category.
She/they. Hirrus Clutumnus is my comfort characterPinocchio I feel has the edge because unlike Puss in Boots, which is just a really damn good movie, Pinocchio has a really distinct style and purpose to it. So I am rooting for Puss, expecting Pinocchio to win, and completely unsurprised if Turning Red wins anyway because Disney.
It's been 3000 years…I really hope Del Toro's Pinocchio wins, though I'd also be cool with Puss in Boots: the Last Wish winning. I liked Turning Red but I'd be so irritated if it wins.
Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself. The Globes are the unserious awards season starter show, which inadvertently makes them a pretty good bellwether for the more populist Oscar categories like Animated Film. (I too would like GDT to take it.)
If Puss in Boots wins, it will be the first time a Dreamworks film won best animated film since Wallace and Gromit. And if Pinocchio wins, it will be the first time a stop motion film won best animated film since Wallace and Gromit. Either way history is gonna be made .
Wallace and Gromit was Dreamworks?
Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself.Dreamworks distributed the film (and most of Aardman's earlier feature films), much in the same way Disney distributes Pixar's films.
Ah, I see. I hadn't realized that.

It's been 3000 years…#EEAAOSweep and also that Lead Actress category is a mess.
In the international category, the place with Argentina should've been 1985, no?
oh hey how are you doing?Elvis for best movie? Really…? I mean it’s a good film but… it’s very by-the-numbers.
Welcome to the Oscars. They love by-the-numbers stuff, so long as it appeals directly to them.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonThanks, that's been changed.
It's been 3000 years…And if Turning Red wins... it will be the first movie about a human turning into a gigantic version a small cute animal to win best animated film since Wallace and Gromit.
I will say I am mostly happy with these. I am glad Everything Everywhere is in the lead. Now if I had to say there are four locks in my opinion. 1) Ke Huy Quan is going to win Best Supporting Actor. 2) Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio is going to win Best Animated Feature. 3) All Quiet on the Western Front is easily going to win Best International Feature. 4) Avatar wins Best Visual Effects. Though I say Everything Everywhere wins Best Picture, I hope the Daniels win Best Director, Blanchett wins Best Actress, Bassett wins Supporting Actress, and Naatu Naatu wins Best Song.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadWhy is Glass Onion under Adapted Screenplay? Because it's a sequel?
It seems like it, same reason why Top Gun Maverick is there too.
It's been 3000 years…The Academy has a weird rule that sequels no matter what are adapted screenplay because they are using characters introduced in another film.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadIt's for legal reasons too, original writers have to be credited for characters they created. The various crossover films will have a series of credits for each individual character. Glass Onion is unique is that it has the same basic creative team as the first film but the same rules apply.
Do you not know that in the service one must always choose the lesser of two weevils!
I liked Lightyear but I can't see it being nominated. I haven't seen Strange World yet so I can't comment on that one.
