Dr. Tropenstein's Lab

Hello, ladies and gentlemen. Before we begin, allow me to ask you a question: Do you like to tinker with works and/or their characters so that they suit your wildest desires? Do you want to change some of the tropes presented by a certain character, group of characters, or series/franchise as a whole? Allow me to gladly declare that those of you who share my mentality of twisting things to a T, then you've come to the right place! Welcome, one and all to... DR. TROPENSTEIN'S LAB!!!!!

Here's how things are going to work here. Any aspiring troper who wants to take part can add, remove, replace, and modify the tropes of their favorite characters and works (or any obscure ones. This lab welcomes media and characters of all shapes and sizes!) however they see fit!

Adding Tropes: This one is self-explanatory. Add a trope to new or pre-existing characters and works!

Removing Tropes: Tired of those pesky tropes you hate to see unnecessarily shoehorned into your favorite characters or works? Then just up and get rid of 'em!

Replacing Tropes: Kind of like adding and removing put together, getting rid of one trope and replacing it with another trope of your choice!

Modifying Tropes: Do you want to change how an already-existing trope is Played With? Be my guest, there's nothing wrong with that!

After your changes have been made and posted, you have to explain how your editions would change the overall story and character dynamics, and in your own words, justify why you would make the edit(s) to the character(s) or work(s). You can come to the lab and share your ideas for your very own characters, and how you believe they would interact with the other characters within the story!

Hell, if you really want to get inventive, then mix and match characters and tropes from other source materials! Just so long as you have your own context and reasons for your changes, then anything here is possible!

However, there is only one rule: You must link any and all works, characters, and tropes to their trope pages (if they have one.)

If there's anyone out there who wants an example, I'll be more than happy to oblige.

Let's see what we have here... Oh hello, Mikan Kurenai! Fancy to see you at the top of my pile! (I don't know the source material, but I'll just wing it. Plus, come on! If you know me, you know what's coming.) Hmm... I want to keep the Bratty Half-Pint trope, but I just want to downplay it a tad. I know! Who wouldn't want to give a character like that completely asinine yet somewhat character-relevant Super-breathing abilities upon reaching a certain age. However, I may have to incorporate a Time Skip or a Plot-Relevant Age-Up in order to get the results I desire.

Does everybody understand the instructions? Good! Now, come one, come all! Exercise your creativity (or just change things to your will. Here, they're both the exact same!), because any and all trope-based (or non-trope-based) changes to anything you can imagine is welcome here! Set your imaginations free, and bring the ideal version of your favorite character, work, episode, etc. to life, as Dr. Frankenstein did with the mangled parts of his monster! IT'S FOR TROPE SCIENCE! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! *Thunderclaps*

(WARNING: This is all purely hypothetical, and none of these changes will become canon to the series changed as they are. Do NOT change the pages of the characters or works you feel the need to tinker with.)

Remember, anyone can change the character or work they want to modify at any time. But I'm liking this development, so let's add that to the list of things you can do on this thread.

NEW METHOD OF EDITING: Adding tropes to the latest character mentioned in the thread! Editions made to the same character or work by other users can stack, and any user can change to any other character or work at any time they so desire.

Otherwise, state a character, work, or setting and add tropes to it to suit your whims! (But you have to state your reason why, whether it be justifiable or for kicks.)

I'm pretty sure that having Gag Boobs is par for the course when one the highlights of your career as the latest generation in a long line of balloon makers is that you've gone out of your way to make yourself a full-body thermal inflatable Playboy Bunny outfit designed to...

A. Protect yourself from harsh winter environments. B. Make yourself look more physically mature than you really are. C. (Somehow) Give you the aforementioned Gag Boobs.

Either that or Gag Boobs should be downplayed to make room for her artificially mammary-enlarging Fanservice outfit. Also, her new Super-Breath powers have to account for something in all of this.

Other than that, let's keep truckin' on!

Speaking of which, I remove Dr. Fakenstein from him. He shall be known from henceforth as Edward Van Tropen, MD.

Here, while we're at it, let's change things up and make SpongeBob SquarePants an Anime. Maybe give SpongeBob the ability to shoot a stream of deceptively powerful bubbles created from energy out of his hands?

Why? Because God damn it, it sounds fuckin' awesome!

If we're talking about Luigi, then let's strike while the iron's hot. I'm going to downplay his status as the scared-of-nigh-everything sidekick, and maybe exaggerate his status as a Deadpan Snarker. If there's anything in this world that we desperately need more of, it's snarky Luigi.
