• Germans Love David Hasselhoff: This series is obscenely popular in Brazil. TV Globo aired reruns on their Monday-to-Friday morning block even 25 to 30 years after its debut.
  • It's so popular that the car company Renault created a live-action commercial using the animated series characters, and gave it the full cinematic treatment. Fans cheered it as an incredibly faithful rendition and especially loved the fact that the commercial ended with the kids (and Uni) making it home.

I love this so much. Check it out! They are not kidding when they say the quality is cinematic!

The caption for The Lost Lenore gives me such mixed emotions. It made me chuckle a little, but it also made me "Aww" in both a heartwarming way and a sad way. :P

Regina's mom is a breast cancer survivor.

Being forced to confront her own mortality made her embrace youth. As a result, she became the "cool mom." The movie also specifically points out that she has had breast implants. Not wishing to bum out the guests, one of whom is a stranger, she doesn't mention the cancer and lets Cady think that they were the result of vanity.

It's also the origin for why the Plastics wear pink on Wednesdays; Regina started it as a bit of a tribute.

It really humanizes the Plastics, in my opinion.

I get that it's maybe too subjective to keep on the page but I love hearing about that kind of stuff. Theres a podcast called Office Ladies that's just Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey discussing episodes of The Office (US), and part of the reason I enjoy it is that Angela is such a harsh, uptight character in the show and she's often at odds with Pam, yet on the podcast Angela Kinsey comes off as nice and even adorkable and she and Jenna have the rapport of old friends. To me it's like, I dunno, if there were a show that was just James Earl Jones and Mark Hammil having a jovial discussion about Star Wars over tea.

The second entry for Villainous Friendship on Eggman's folder here. I love Villainous Friendship in general, but that example is especially wholesome.

In a sad way, the caption for Used to Be a Sweet Kid. With all the memes about Kung Fu Panda, I was expecting a joke, not something so serious.

The second entry for Shout-Out on Hotel California. It's like the wholesome inversion of Take That!.

George Herriman's Krazy Kat was weird, surreal, and incredibly unpopular among the general public in its time. However, William Randolph Hearst (yeah, that one) loved it and ran it in all his newspapers, eventually giving it a full-page colour spread in the Arts & Drama section. It sometimes ran in his papers only because of his direct order. When Herriman died, Hearst canceled the comic, even though it was common practice to hire a new cartoonist after the death of the author— Hearst didn't want anyone messing with Krazy.
