In before the actual episode: recall the character intros from the OP that isn't translated? Seems that it's the manga's character bios transferred verbatim, and is translated here.
I'm not sure, however, whether UMPC is the correct way to translate that thing Ayame writes her stories on. It's actually a "hand-held word processor," a single-task handheld that was only made obsolete by smartphones. In case it isn't clear, there's still a "computer is for nerds" stigma over there.
Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaThat's funny, considering that pretty much every character so far has had a NEEEEEEEEEEEERD! moment
OH GOD WHY AM I A CAR!? - ForzareI wasn't Teru to actually play a part in the series — I was expecting that her mysteriousness would be played up, but I suppose it's a Kirara series after all.
&& : People in a doujin game ciricle are big nerds, period. Tamaki and Kayo are the least dorky of the bunch, but not by much.
So the most important point of this episode is introducing 4 characters, of which I'd summarize here:
- Marika: A Karen expy, 'nuff said.
- Natsu: Seems to be the Only Sane Man in this particular Cast Herd; her pet lover status may be important later but not now.
- Teru: SNS Club's founder. She may be a nice sempai, but may potentially be completely nuts otherwise—like, playing a Cat Girl on the Artificial Riverbank and then up to and including where Kayo works?
- Haruma: Seki's Deadpan Snarker 12-year-old brother who's more competent in traditional painting, and also has a crush on Tamaki. Seems like this is a very heterosexual Kirara series.
An example of Daisuki's translations' deviation from the original can be seen from this conversation in the beginning of this episode, when Yumine explains why she's crashed; the comparison is "HellaStella", a more literal translation that's been circulating in 4chan.
- Daisuki!Yumine: Sorry, yesterday's spring review was actually a filmfest. Then we hung around the billboard talking around five in the morning...HellaStella!Yumine: Sorry, yesterday's Hara-Juku was seriously a godtier episode. I was posting about Ships until five in the morning...
Note from Ed.: "Juku" is Japanese for Cram School, so "Spring Review" is a very literal translation of Hara-Juku, IMO...
Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaEpisode 5, briefly: (1) The SNS Clubroom involuntarily moves to Tamaki's for one day. (2) One more new character!
Related: do underaged people like them allowed to hold booths at Comiket...?
Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra Nova
From my understanding, as long as your circle is able to meet the requirements (submit the proper forms, and have a product ready for presentation on the convention day) the age of the circle members don't really matter.
Whoa, didn't expect any gravity this soon. Also, Shiina shows why she's the prez - she can put her foot down and is pretty frank :o
I don't know about Comiket, but during my trip to Music Media-Mix Market (think Comiket, but only for doujin music) there is a booth ran by a friggin 14 years old singer.
Back to the anime, I wondered how their completed game would be categorized under the genre separation rules for Comiket.
Y'know, this time they just got into a doujin game only con.
I'm not that kind of programmer, so I'm not sure: whether people actually can do a doujin game project in two weeks?
So, we have three sempais; which would you like to be the prez?
- Ayame: Possibly Allergic to Routine, Schedule Slip-prone, and a bit more laid-back. Former Chuunibyou with a Tomboy side.
- Kayo: Generally Nice Girl (with Beware the Nice Ones moments), but may occasionally too concentrated to her work.
- Shiina: No-nonsense, no communication skills and probably No Social Skills, but seems to know how to push people's buttons.
I've seen games developed in mere 24 hours so two weeks is certainly possible.
Oh, I prefer Kayo for as prez.

Kayo for me. As you said, she's nice and generally well-focused. Being too focused can be a bit of a problem, as demonstrated many times already. Especially when Tamaki, Aya, and Shiina were this close to thinking she gave up on the project.
From 4chan: It seems a lot about Shiina comes from her mother◊. Translation also from there, but I have flipped the name order.
Boss Subtitles: Sumire Murakami (39) divorced / Work from home (Web) engineer
- Sumire: Last year I thought that you having something you could engross yourself in was a wonderful thing. But now I'm conflicted... Thinking maybe like me you'll be stuck in the swamp that is software engineering and get overworked in the trenches of IT. I'm sorry I couldn't have you born into a world where PHP and Objective-C don't exist...Shiina: I-I'll be careful.
Huh, it does explain why Shiina doesn't force people to stay if they don't want to.
As for presidents, Kayo would be a good one. She's nice enough to be a good forward-facing one, and she looks like she can get people to settle down. However, all her best work comes from her working outside the clubroom, it seems like she has to really concentrate on it, and she's prone to scope creep even if she doesn't drift as much as Ayame. Given a choice between her and Shiina, I'd still go with Shiina, because she keeps everyone on track and can be pragmatic when needed.
As for episode 6, there're a few more things that worth discussing.
- So, Shiina's an expert in Playing Sick, or actually falling sick at will?
- While in real life there may be girls who feel uncomfortable for being a tomboy, I wonder what made Ayame treat her tomboy/ Otaku Surrogate years Old Shame?
- Kayo is now in two clubs. I haven't heard of it.
Whether Shiina's sickness was physical or psychological, she needs to learn about body temperatures :p
If I remember correctly, one of them in the first episode said that Kayo was also part of the digital music club. They don't bring it up too often, though.
1. To me it looks like she genuinely feels sick even though she's clinically healthy.
2. Ayame must have been full on weaboo. Plus the earliest stories of a writer are usually the most embarassing. Brrrrr.
3. Kayo is indeed in the digital music club, mentioned way back in episode 1. Though her priority is SNS.
I caught up! Finally.
Episode 7
7A: Layers and layers of Sustained Misunderstaining eventually causes Kayo to be Mistaken for Gay; first about what she's writing the lyrics to, and then what is her child. I won't be too surprised that Yumi had that impression, but then even Tama thinks Kayo's going for a lesbian sex. Maybe she thinks Kayo's going to make babies with her.
7B: Heartwarming Moments, sure. For one thing, Detective Conan seems to imply Ill Girl may cause Broken Bird, and even Lucky Star seems to imply this may be the case—there're implications that Yutaka may be that close to that. But this is the first time this is applied to an elementary schooler. Also note that the kids don't seem to treat the otaku trope as a bad thing. (But that said, Please Tell Me! Galko-chan already has examples where the reason for a character being an otaku was that s/he is/was an Ill Girl).

The whole episode though heartwarming, was a huge bait and switch. In any other show, you'd get some focus on the new girl, but here we see here only at the beginning and only at the end. :P
I have to wonder what Tama now thinks of the raging Fujoshi her childhood friend became.
I think Tamaki has no idea about Boys' Love. She may know Yumine reads manga with a lot of boys in it, but she seems too innocent to understand exactly. Let's say, Reverse Harem also has a lot of boys...
The first half seems like the inevitable end result of the last episode, though it felt like a standard setup of awkward wording, lack of communication, and third party walking in at an awkward moment. At least Tamaki figures out her mistake, and the various imagine spots were funny.
The second half was a nice friendship origin story. Credit where it's due, Tamaki wasn't just persistent, but also found a way to personally connect with Yumine, and the other classmates didn't seem to deliberately ostracize Yumine, they just didn't have enough of an impression of her. I can see why Yumine is so fiercely protective of Tamaki and why she thinks Tamaki would be the dominant one in a relationship.
Yeah, opening with the redheaded girl and having her not show up again until the end was annoying. At least it looks like we'll find out what her beef is next episode :o

I'm surprised that middle-schooler Ayame is not only using Mary Sue, but also Your Cheating Heart. As in, the self-insert is the one cheating.
Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaEpisode 8: It's basically Minaha.
- Minaha acts pretty strange to me. She's a fan of Iris', and eventually found Shiina and Kayo acceptable, but sees Tama as The Rival to the point of personal attacks (she isn't that short to begin with, not to say about dissing her hometown), and finds Ayame beneath her.
- Minaha treats Stardust Intenzione Serious Business and claims it's life-changing. Everyone else (even on this side of the Fourth Wall) thinks it's an awful self-insert fic.
- ...Yeah. Magical Girl Warrior who attracts boys like a magnet... duly troped under Her Codename Was Mary Sue.
- OK, I know Aya is a really common name and is probably a shortened form of Ayame, but, still, to me Aya is either a Komichi or a Tachibaba.
- I started to know why Ayame sees her tomboy past as Old Shame. These self-insert fics, if anything, indicates she may still want to be a "girly girl."
- Hm, Minaha counts as Cute Clumsy Girl, perhaps.
- So, Shiina actually codes for bug fixes... I don't know how the doujin game scene works in the era of optical discs.
- I'm seeing the relationship between Ayame and Minaha one not unlike Shinka and Deko in Love Chunibyo And Other Delusions...
- In the manga, Kayo's Pen Name is "Singna," which is more indicative of how it's come from.
- OK, I know what is clickbait (YKTTW is arguing whether it's a trope or an Useful Note), but Tama clearly understands it wrong. Not that Shii's is any better, but it may has to do with her taste of weird drinks. Minaha is the most insightful on this (and, really, more than a few things about illustration in practice).
- It's really the previous episode: We see Minaha using a double-screen computer. That thing is usually indicative of a Teen Genius or similar, from a line of characters from the perpetual keeper of my avatar space (that was 2002) up to and including Anne Happy's Tsubaki. But Minaha doesn't look like a genius to me, so what gives?
Last but not least: we have seen Minaha's sister before. Recall Minaha's surname is "Iino."

Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaWhen was Minaha's surname brought up?
It was fun seeing Tamaki get all annoyed. If Minaha's a middle schooler that might explain why she thinks Ayame's stories are some of the greatest works she's ever read. She's also part of the next episode preview, so I'm guessing she'll be a more frequently recurring character. More than, say, Natsu and Marika so far.
What I can say right now is episode 4 introduces a ton of new characters, including Tamaki's two classmates, Ayame's two (male) siblings, and the aforementioned Teru.
