Love Star
is a One Piece webcomic fanmade by HolderofTruth
It involves a shojo-like parody with a classic love triangle where Usopp and Franky are both in love with Luffy and compete for his affection.
This fanfiction contains examples of:
- Amicable Exes: Zig-Zagged. Despite having broke up, Luffy still consider Usopp a good friend, but he isn't afraid to scold him for his obsessive stalker-like behaviour.
- Adaptational Jerkass: It seems that in this fancomic Usopp Took a Level in Jerkass.
- Attempted Rape: It seems like this in Chapter 8, when Usopp planned to drug Luffy with an alcoholic substance in a drink.
- Beast and Beauty: Luffy (a Badass Adorable young boy) is the Beauty while Franky (a gargantuan half-human, half-machine being) is the Beast
- Betty and Veronica: Luffy is the Archie, with Franky as the Betty and Usopp as the Veronica
- Big Damn Heroes: In Chapter 9, Franky saves Luffy in the nick of time when he was almost drowning.
- Big Guy, Little Guy: Franky and Luffy
- Butt-Monkey: Sanji is usually the one who takes mistreatment in the most hilarious way.
- Cool Big Sis: Robin acts a little like this towards Luffy, always helping him whene there are problems.
- Damsel out of Distress: Luffy may appear Prone to Tears when Usopp tries to take him into his own hands, but there are times where he is perfectly capable to defend himself.
- Fetishized Abuser: Usopp is shown to be very selfish, never thinking about Luffy's feelings when he's molesting him. But he's also Luffy's secondary Love Interest and a legit suitor for his feelings as long as this fan comic is concerned.
- He Cleans Up Nicely: In Chapter 6, when the Straw Hats went to a luxury place, Luffy wore a beautiful long red dress that revealed his legs with high-heels and a flower on his head and he seemed so cute and pretty that made both Usopp's and Franky's noses bleeding. Franky was totally charmed by his looks and Usopp even said that Cinderella entered the ball, but he didn't knew that Luffy had already chosen his Prince Charming.
- I Have You Now, My Pretty: That's what Usopp thinks everytime he tries to molest Luffy, but our little captain is not a cute little dainty flower as he looks.
- Innocent Fanservice Guy: In Chapter 1, while Usopp was returning to his room, Luffy was spotted clad with nothing but his underwear, making the former's nose bleeding and the latter very confused.
- Insecure Love Interest: Franky is quite cute when he tries to express his affection to Luffy and also thinks that he isn't very worth of him, but he doesn't know that Luffy feels the same.
- Love Triangle: Usopp likes Luffy very much, but Luffy is in love with Franky.
- The Masochism Tango: In Chapter 7, Usopp forces Luffy to dance with him, making the young captain very violated and making Franky pretty pissed off.
- Manipulative Bastard: Usopp is not shy about manipulating Luffy and Franky's feelings
- My God, What Have I Done?: In Chapter 11, Usopp finally realize that he had been a huge Jerkass towards Luffy, making him suffering.
- Single Woman Seeks Good Man: Rare Male Example. There are no doubts why Luffy loves Franky so much: he's kind, sensitive, treats him with love and respect and always defends and protects him from Usopp's harrassment.
- Smooch of Victory: Luffy gives one to Franky after he saved his life in Chapter 9.
- Sugar-and-Ice Personality: Because of Usopp obsession towards him, Luffy tends to act quite cold and harsh towards him but he becomes sweet as sugar when is with Franky.
- Tsundere: Luffy is a Type B: a total sweetheart and an absolute cutie, but he's no pushover,especially when Usopp tries to molest him.
- Ugly Guy, Hot Wife: Rare Male Example. Franky, while not definetely ugly, is excessively bulky with a very strange face while his boyfriend Luffy is very cute and adorable.
- Violently Protective Boyfriend: Downplayed. Franky is really pissed off when Usopp mistreats Luffy, but he never tried to beat him up.
- Played Straight with Luffy, who was willing to throw Usopp down from a balcony when the latter attempted to kill Franky.
- Wholesome Crossdresser: Luffy seems to look pretty cute in women clothes, earning Franky's and Usopp's admiration.
- His effect is Inverted with Sanji, because of his experience at the Kamabakka Kingdom.
- Yandere: In Chapter 9, Usopp's jealousy was so strong that he tried to kill Franky making him drowning to have Luffy only to himself.
- Yaoi Fangirl: Nami is so excited about Franky and Usopp trying to conquer Luffy's heart, that she even arrives to the point to spy them with hidden webcams. Later is shown that Robin, Chopper and Brook are quite the fans too, but not at Nami's level.
