Anna Schuyler and Samuel Dalton.

The Nanny Affair is one of many stories in the Choices: Stories You Play collection.

A babysitter, a sexy boss and two twins... Problems and Not Safe for Work fun await them.

The Nanny Affair and The Dalton Affair contains examples of:

  • Accidental Misnaming: Sofia seems completely unable to tell the twins apart, often calling Mickey "Mason" and vice versa.
  • Alliterative Family: One of the twins' friends from school is called Liliana, and her parents are Lana and Landon.
  • Always Second Best: Robin is implied to feel this way towards Sam.
Robin: Sam always had everything handed to him/her growing up, no questions asked. The important job, the cute kids, the fancy fiancee... But me? I’ve had to work for everything and it’s still not enough.
  • Annoying Younger Sibling: Sam sees Robin as this due to their womanizing habits.
  • Another Side, Another Story: The Dalton Affair, released in mid-2023 for some VIP players (and for all VIP players in September 2023), is a retelling of the story from Sam's perspective.
  • Badly Battered Babysitter: This is implied to be the case with Sam’s past nannies who have had trouble handling the rambunctious Mickey and Mason.
  • Becoming the Mask: While Jordan was hired by Robin to spy on Sam and Anna, they admit they genuinely enjoyed being Mickey and Mason's nanny.
  • Betty and Veronica: The dependable Anna as Betty and aloof Sofia as Veronica to Sam’s Archie. According to Sofia in Book 3, Chapter 8, she's also the Veronica to Addison's Betty.
  • Big Bad: Sofia in Book 1, Robin in Book 2, Addison in Book 3.
  • Birthday Episode:
    • Book 1, Chapter 3 is one for Sam.
    • Book 3, Chapter 16 is one for Mickey and Mason.
  • Cast Full of Gay: Anna is Always Female, Sam is gender-customizable, and Sam's sibling Robin is the same gender as Sam. As such, if Sam is female, then Anna, Robin, Sam's fiancee Sofia, and Sam herself (as well as Addison, Sam's ex-wife) are all WLWnote . As of Book 2, this also applies to Jordan. Lampshaded in Book 2, Chapter 6 when Anna's publicist tells her that everyone sees her as "the other woman" after Sam left Sofia to be with her, and Anna counters that everyone involved is a woman if Sam is female.
  • Constantly Curious: Mickey and Mason who love running (often disastrous) experiments.
  • Content Warnings: Right from the start, the story says the book contains some mature sexual content compared to usual Choices books.
  • Erotic Dream:
    • The story starts with Anna having sex with Sam Dalton like it's part of the interview... and then the alarm clock wakes up, knocking her out of the fantasy.
    • Book 2 opens with Anna having one involving the new nanny, Jordan.
    • And in Book 3 Anna has one of her wedding night with Sam, only for Addison to interrupt.
    • Also, The Dalton Affair reveals Sam had one after they first interviewed Anna.
  • Everyone Has Standards: After Robin is defeated in Book 2, they hand Anna and Sam the means to take Sofia out in the form of a sex tape of her with Robin. The couple however thinks it's going too far and agree to destroy it, while Anna informs Sofia about it.
  • Forbidden Romance: Sam at the start is already engaged to Sofia.
  • Forgiven, but Not Forgotten: After Addison drops the custody case, Anna can choose to forgive her, but makes it clear there will be no third chances.
  • Friend to All Children: Anna appears to be this, getting along with Mickey and Mason while past nannies have failed.
  • Gender-Blender Name: Sam Dalton. Their full name is Samuel Dalton if male, and Samantha Dalton if female. Robin and Jordan also, whether they are male or female.
  • Hello, [Insert Name Here]: As with every Choices book, you can name your character, the default name being Anna Schuyler.
  • Hey, That's My Line!: When Tony arrives at the country club meeting with his family, he says, "Don't worry, everyone. The party can start now." Later, when Robin arrives...
Robin: Don't worry everyone, the party can start now!
    Tony: That was my line!
  • Hypocrite: Sofia gets really mad about Anna and Sam's affair, yet she ends up having her own relationship with Robin.
  • Marriage of Convenience: Sam and Sofia agreed to marry not for love, but so they can merge their companies.
  • Marry the Nanny: Book 3 revolves around planning Sam and Anna's wedding, which finally takes place in Chapter 20.
  • Mama Bear/Papa Wolf: Sam is incredibly protective Mickey and Mason, and even gets angry with Anna when they find she took them on the subway.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: After the twins run away and Anna helps find them, Addison realizes she's not the one who truly cares for those kids and drops the custody case.
  • Parental Abandonment: Oddly enough, Anna's parents aren't even mentioned in the book, not even when she is getting married. On the other hand both of Sam's and Addison's parents, along with Sophia's father are present in the story. It is not clear whether Anna's parents died, live far away or that they are on bad terms.
  • Pronouncing My Name for You: Jordan Le note  does this, most likely so that readers can avoid confusion with the High School Story original MC, whose default name is Jordan Lee.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Anna has the chance to give Robin this in a premium option in Book 2, Chapter 18, which also gets them fired.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Sam's sons, Mason and Mickey are introduced as such with Mason in red and Mickey in blue, though the personalities are inverted.
  • The Reveal: In Book 2, Chapter 16, Anna discovers that Jordan is working for Robin. As a result, Sam fires Jordan in the next chapter.
  • Rich Bitch: Sofia, who is condescending and out-of-touch. Upon first meeting Anna, she refers to her as the help and expects her to help with the engagement party—despite it not being part of her job obligation. Depending on Anna's race, it can also come off as racist sometimes.
  • The Runaway: In Book 3, Chapter 17, Mickey and Mason run away from home due to thinking they're making the adults miserable from the custody case.
  • Sequel Hook: Book 2 ends with Sam and Anna getting engaged when the mysterious woman from two chapters ago reappears. The twins recognize her as their supposedly dead mom, Addison.
  • Shipper on Deck: Anna’s best friend Jenny appears to be this through her encouragement of Anna to get with Sam.
  • Tomboyish Name: Samantha "Sam" Dalton.
  • Twin Theme Naming: The twins have alliterative names starting with M, Mickey and Mason.
