Never Live It Down / JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

Go To

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure lives with this trope, and cracks it into multiple memetic levels, which only boosts its reputation.

Stardust Crusaders:

  • Kakyoin Noriaki is a loyal companion with a sufficient Character Development, but he's mostly known for hunting for hot moms and licking a cherry in an extremely weird way, the former coming from him admiring Jotaro's mom once, and the latter of which is done by someone impersonating him (though he does end up performing it as a Brick Joke at the end of the arc).
  • While the series isn't a stranger to violence against animals (usually dogs), Iggy being repeatedly kicked to death by Vanilla Ice is often seen as the pinnacle of this, and is the one that stands out in many fans' minds.

Diamond is Unbreakable:

  • In part because of how many memes it produced, it's unlikely that the fandom is going to be forgetting of the "Duwang" translation.
  • Perhaps because of the series' rule that Anyone Can Die, the fact that this Part has about half of the Villains of the Week being befriended by the heroes is one of the most remembered things about it, whether it be for good or bad.
  • Killer Queen's Off-Model debut in the anime is often remembered by detractors of the anime, despite the fact that cases of characters being Off-Model like that are rather rare.
  • Despite the fact that the event wasn't actually his fault, fans still like to make jokes about Josuke burning down Rohan's house.
  • Yoshikage Kira, a terrifying Serial Killer, is mostly known by fans for getting an erection as a child after seeing The Mona Lisa (or more specifically, her hands) for the first time (with the line "I HAD A BONER" from the infamous "Duwang Scans" becoming a meme), and dying from being run over by an ambulance, to the point that the ambulance has even become a Memetic Badass of sorts.
  • Jotaro's outfit includes a pin shaped like two dolphins making a Heart Symbol, representing him becoming a marine biologist. Even though he ends up studying starfish rather than dolphins, fans often portray Jotaro as being obsessed with dolphins to the point of lust.
  • Fans still joke about Jotaro nearly dying during the "Let's go Hunting!" arc - someone with Star Platinum: The World, explicitly said to be the most powerful Stand ability, being defeated by a rat, of all things. They tend to forget that said rat had significantly improved intelligence like other Stand-using animals, so it outsmarting Jotaro shouldn't be that unusual, and its Stand could fire long-range projectiles, giving it a massive advantage over Star Platinum, which has massive strength but pitiful range.

Golden Wind:

  • Abbacchio's constant Jerkass attitude towards Giorno seems to be the most remembered thing about his character, to the point that many fan works turn it into his sole defining character trait, even though he showed small signs of warming up to Giorno before he ends up getting killed.
  • Despite later translations of the manga as well as the anime doing a better job at explaining King Crimson's ability, fans seem to mostly remember it for how confusing the ability's explanation in early translations is.
  • Mista is often portrayed as a cannibal in memes, due to an out-of-nowhere conversation on human meat in the Rolling Stone chapter, even though said conversation ends with him deducing that human meat would taste bad.

Stone Ocean:

  • While Jotaro's parenting skills aren't anything to praise, many fans like to exaggerate him into being actively neglectful of Jolyne. Alternatively, fans who view their relationship in a more positive light tend to exaggerate him into being violently protective of her.
  • While Pucci is only implied to have an attraction to DIO, fans tend to exaggerate said attraction into being his defining character trait.
