Just because the Dragon Ball Super movie is called "Super Hero", doesn't mean there isn't any humorous moments here and there.
  • Magenta being so short just like his old man. His introduction involves him menacingly standing on top of a milk crate and there's both times he has to use a step stool.
  • Hedo being imprisoned for three months because he stole three bodies from the morgue to convert them into cyborgs and make them work at a convenience store to fund his projects. Magenta observes that he could've made more money just robbing the convenience store.
  • Gohan and Videl buying a new plushie for Piccolo as payment for his helping out with Pan. Except Piccolo makes it clear he doesn't like them despite having a small collection of them in his house. Plus, his phone has a case in the exact same style as the plushies.
    • Later when recording Pan for evidence in the Red Ribbon base, she's holding onto, yet another one of those cats. Whatever that cat character is, it must be seriously popular.
    • This fan comic provides a hilarious explanation for the plushies.
  • Carmine really loves to add his own branding to his presentations. Not only does he include a logo but later when reviewing surveillance pictures and footage of the Z Fighters, it's in the style of a YouTube page called the "Carmine Channel." and there's other videos on the list not even relating to the matter at hand!
  • When Piccolo recounts how Gero tried to bring back the Red Ribbon army only to fail before Cell could even be activated, the Gero in the flashback reacts with shock as if he had actually heard Piccolo.
  • Gamma 2 posing with visible sound effects. Even Piccolo wonders why he can see them. Later when he returns to base, it's revealed they're holograms for added flair and that Dr. Hedo wants him to keep finding the right poses.
  • Despite being a pretty smart fellow, Piccolo can't figure out how to hold a phone properly, holding it with two fingers at the top like he was holding a disposable diaper. Also, said phone has the same plushie character as the plushies given to him by Gohan and Videl, which is hilarious enough, but becomes especially silly when he's disguised as a Red Ribbon mook.
    • On that note, the idea of the always brooding/meditating Piccolo infiltrating and wearing a disguise, and acting as a mook, can be considered pretty funny as he never did this before.
  • Carmine's presentation on the Z-Fighters depicts Vegeta wearing his infamous "BADMAN" shirt.
  • Beerus getting a crush on Cheelai, the first thing he's fallen in love with that's NOT food. Just how he behaves when Cheelai is involved really, even going as far as to help her get the ice cream. Yes, Beerus, of all people, is helping get the food, just to impress Cheelai. The cake is how quick Whis is in making snarky comments about this.
  • Gohan continuing his research work in Piccolo's outfit.
  • The Dramatic Irony of Gamma 2 insisting he vaporized Piccolo...while Piccolo is in the same room disguised as one of the foot soldiers. And in the context of the series as a whole, the line cements Gamma 2 as being very new at this — a cloud of dust is never confirmation of a kill.
  • Despite having otherwise accurate information about the Z-Fighters that the rest of the world seems ignorant of, the Red Ribbon Army still believes Mr. Satan to be incredibly powerful. Carmine ranks him with Goku, Vegeta, and Buu as one of the heaviest hitters, when Dr. Hedo identifies him as the one who defeated Cell, they do not object to the notion, and Carmine ends his presentation by saying they can "only guess" at his true power.
  • Since Frieza's last incursion to Earth, Bulma has created a division within Capsule Corp for the sole purpose of locating and gathering the Dragon Balls. Both to keep them out of Frieza's clutches and so that Bulma could summon Shenron whenever she wants to perform literal Magic Plastic Surgery on herself to maintain her looks, much to Piccolo's exasperation.
  • Shenron straightforwardly declares "Your buns are pert." after granting Bulma's first wish.
    • Additionally, when he is summoned, Shenron begins his traditional speech before noticing Bulma and Piccolo and saying "Oh it's you, Piccolo!" in a very genial tone. Seems the eternal dragon has gotten used to the regular customers.
  • The whole reason Goku and Vegeta didn't get involved in the film's plot was because of Beerus absentmindedly tossing an empty huge tub of ice cream over Whis' staff, preventing him from seeing Bulma trying to contact him as Goku and Vegeta were sparring.
  • Bulma and Piccolo only realize after using all the wishes that they could have wished for Goku and Vegeta to return to Earth.
  • Pan allowing herself to be "kidnapped" as part of Piccolo's plan to get Gohan motivated to fight the Red Ribbon army, pretending she's a scared little girl for the ransom video. The moment the filming stops, she tries to take some cookies and pouts when she's not allowed to have them. Note that Pan is strong enough to knock out a grown man that tried to grab her with little difficulty despite being only three years old.
    • When filming the ransom video, Piccolo is shown behind Magenta giving Pan two thumbs up at her performance.
    • In order help Gohan regain his edge to gain an upper hand against Gamma 1, Piccolo pretends to threaten her by holding her by the collar, but also balancing her with his left hand. When Gamma 1 notices, he demands that Piccolo (in his Red Ribbon disguise) let her go, to their confusion.
  • Piccolo turns out to be terrible at piloting an airship, nearly crashing into obstacles on the way back to the base. No one appears to question his bad piloting as being suspicious, which either says something about the army or the mook that Piccolo stole his uniform from also happened to be a terrible pilot.
    • Piccolo also mentions that he “never got his license”, referencing the well-known filler episodes in the anime where he and Goku tried to do exactly that.
    • Even funnier is that he holds the wheel exactly the same way he does with his cellphone; i.e with his thumb and two fingers instead of gripping it. And he does this with both sides, making it look like he's trying to control a puppet rather than flying a plane.
  • Pan was able to immediately recognize Piccolo in his Red Ribbon disguise by sensing his ki, which makes sense. But what makes it funny that when he and the RR Mook come to visit Gohan to deliver the ransom message, Gohan doesn't recognize him at all (much to Piccolo's annoyance).
    • The mook pulls a gun on Gohan to try and force him out of the house. Gohan flicks the gun away without changing his expression.
    • Immediately after seeing the ransom message, Gohan is furious and powers up outside, cratering the ground hard enough that a portion of the house slides into the newly-created hole. Much later during the credits, a shocked Videl comes across this sight after returning home.
  • Gohan tosses his glasses away to fight Gamma 1 but after the fight he sheepishly asks for help looking for them because he genuinely needs them to see in his base form. Piccolo asks him if his eyesight just gets better when he transforms.
  • Many of Pan's antics, (whether it be due to age or her Saiyan nature) several of which happen in the background:
    • During their training session, Piccolo flings her into a large rock with enough force to smash it apart and create a dust cloud. Aside from saying "ow", she brushes it off quickly. Like Father, like daughter.
    • When Piccolo and Henchman #15 arrive to kidnap Pan, she knocks out the man nearly ten times larger than her instantly.
      • Never mind the fact that both of them earlier were standing out in the open looking into a daycare with most of the surrounding people more interested in their ship.
      • While Piccolo talks to the teacher, Pan begins poking at his unconscious body.
      • Speaking of, Piccolo is on a first-name basis with Pan's teacher and even has casual conversations with her. Piccolo.
    • When Pan attempts to take some cookies after being "kidnapped", Carmine refuses to let her have any. She spends the rest of the movie pouting and making faces at him, up until she gets the chance to knock him and his hairdo for a loop.
      • A little later, when Gohan asks everyone to find his glasses, Pan finds some... which turn out to be Carmine's sunglasses. She tries them on for a moment before tossing them away.
  • Krillin as usual is the Butt-Monkey of the group:
    • When Bulma arrives with backup she replies that she brought all of the strongest warriors on Earth she could find... and Krillin. Krillin indignity replies that he does have super strength and that all the cops at his precinct think he's strong.
    • Later on when Cell Max starts powering up and all of the other heroes head off to fight it Krillin says he'll hang back and protect Bulma and Pan with Bulma giving him a smug side-eye. Though Krillin does get her back later on when Cell Max starts destroying the ground they were standing on and he flies her out of the way smugly telling her that it's a good thing he stayed behind after all.
    • After Cell Max explodes Pan and Bulma are surveying the area to see if everyone is okay, and they spot Android 18 helping Krillin out of the dirt he is buried head first under. One just see it in her mind saying "Okay, if he survived, then everyone is okay."
    • Ironically, Krillin proved to be incredibly useful in the fight, from reminding Piccolo of his other powers, to even blinding Cell Max long enough for Gohan and Piccolo to capitalize.
  • Piccolo at first doesn’t recognize the now teenaged Goten and Trunks when they show up at Red Ribbon HQ. Gohan explains that Saiyan children tend to stay small up until their teenage years before experiencing a sudden growth spurt, which was exactly what happened to Goku.
  • Goten and Trunks flub the fusion again (especially due to being out of practice) and fights as Fat Gotenks. Despite that, he manages to crack the top of Cell Max's head with his own headbutt. Piccolo ecstatically claims it's the first time a failed fusion managed to do something positive.
    • Midway through the fight, the seat of Gotenks' pants gets torn off and he spends the rest of the battle with his naked butt showing. This is especially hilarious considering the series' copious usage of Magic Pants.
  • The reason we never saw Piccolo turn giant for years is because he simply forgot he could do that. When you think about it, not only is it probably a sendup of just how easy it is for the writers to forget about said power, but also the characters. He hasn't used that ability in several DECADES, and it wasn't particularly useful the last time he used it either so of course he forgot about that ability! Even when he uses it again against Cell Max, he shares that increasing his size doesn't make him any stronger and that it is mostly just a bluff.
  • Piccolo gives a tiny bit of side-eye after the battle and asked if Gohan used a Special Beam Cannon (which he did to finish off Cell Max). Gohan sheepishly admits that he was practicing in private. Piccolo just says the equivalent of "Good Job Kid.".
  • Part of the reason Bulma offers Hedo a job at Capsule Corp? His skin modification that renders him Immune to Bullets has potential applications for skincare and cosmetics. Piccolo is all for the idea as it would mean Bulma would stop summoning Shenron for minor cosmetic surgery.
  • In the end-credit scene, Goku and Vegeta are still standing after they started their sparring match during the film. Both Saiyans are utterly worn out, but they go at it once again (in slow motion). Vegeta gets a light grazing punch on Goku, which he collapses to the ground due to sheer exhaustion instead of actual damage. Vegeta celebrates it as his first ever legitimate win against Goku, right before collapsing himself. It then cuts back to everyone else who was watching: Beerus is fast asleep, Whis asks if they're finally finished, Lemo and Broly are crying happy tears like they saw something amazing, and Cheelai just rolls her eyes at the whole scene.
