Sonner family

     Charlie Sonner
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/images_7_63.jpeg
Voiced by: Jethro Lundie-Brown

One of the titular characters, Lola's seven-year-old brother. He is sometimes exasperated with Lola, but is a supportive brother and finds her "very funny". He also enjoys sci-fi.

  • Birthday Episode: He has two of them. "It's a Secret" has him and Lola go to the Museum for a birthday treat, And he has his birthday party in "This is Actually My Party".
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: He introduces Lola and the situation of the episode at the beginning of every episode.
  • Catchphrase: He says, "I have this little sister Lola, she is small and very funny" at the beginning of episodes.
  • Fourth-Wall Observer: He's the only character to break the fourth wall.
  • Injured Limb Episode: Breaks his arm in "Charlie is Broken".
  • Not So Above It All: Usually plays the straight man, but sometimes can goof around to get Lola to do his bidding (such as by giving the food wacky names to get her to eat it) or yell at Lola (like his many tiffs with her in "Yes I Am, No You're Not".)
  • Prefers Going Barefoot: Downplayed, as he goes barefoot fairly often (especially in the opening sequence), though not enough that it's a part of his character.
  • Straight Man: Almost always plays this role to his more excitable younger sister.

The other titular character, Charlie's four-year-old sister. She's very excitable and goofy and has a slightly idiosyncratic diction, favouring adverbs.

  • Animal Lover: Shown to have an affinity for animals, sometimes dressing up as them, wishing she could have a dog, and being the only one to cry when Nibbles dies.
  • Character Tics: Hunches over when she's sad.
  • Cloud Cuckoolander: Downplayed. She's on the same plane of reality as everyone else, but can sometimes be a little goofy, such as her slightly unorthodox speaking patterns and surreal daydreams.
  • Friend to Bugs: Likes a book on entomology and befriends two spiders.
  • Genki Girl: Is very energetic and is generally happy most of the time.
  • Ironic Name: The name Lola means "sorrowful", and Lola is always happy.
  • Motor Mouth: Tends to put more words than necessary into her sentences (e.g. "I'm Far Too Extremely Busy" or "I'm Really Ever So Not Well" are named after her dialogue.)
  • Ms. Imagination: Whenever Charlie tells her something, she will have an elaborate Fantasy Sequence of it and she's often playing made-up games.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Charlie states that the only time she isn't funny is when she's sick.
  • Picky Eater: Is quite fussy about what she eats, though she will generally eat food if you give it a wacky name.
  • Sick Episode: She catches a cold in "I'm Really Ever So Not Well".
  • Trademark Favourite Food: Known for her love of pink milk.
  • Verbal Tic: Shoehorns a great many adverbs into her sentences, including "actually", "extremely", "really", and "very". Sometimes, she even makes up adverbs, such as "promisedly" in "We Honestly Can Look After Your Dog".

     Charlie and Lola's parents
Charlie and Lola's parents who are never seen, but are mentioned a lot.
  • The Ghost: Neither of them has ever been seen.
  • Unnamed Parent: We know that the father's surname is "Sonner" since Charlie gives that as his last name and last names typically come from the father, but we don't know his first name, and we have no clue on the mother's name at all.

     Granny and Grandpa
The kids' grandparents.
  • Cool Old Guy: Grandpa seems very fun, taking the kids horse riding, giving them ice cream, and all sorts of other stuff.
  • Cool Old Lady: Granny does the same cool things with the kids such as horse riding and ice cream as Grandpa.
  • The Ghost: Like the parents, they're never seen.
  • Unnamed Parent: They're the parents of one of the kids' parents, but their names are not revealed.

     Lotta

Voiced by: Morgan Gayle

Lola's best friend.

  • Best Friend: Her main role is being the best friend of a protagonist, in this case Lola.
  • The Fashionista: Sometimes shows an interest in clothes, such as when she is protective of her new fluffy coat and when she asks Lola to return her hair decoration.
  • Token Black Friend: She's black and her main role in the series is Lola's best friend.

     Soren Lorenson
Voiced by: Stanley Street

Lola's imaginary friend who, being imaginary, is invisible to everyone but her.

     Arnold Wolf
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arnold_wolf.png
The Sonners' neighbour, and one of Lola's friends.
  • I Am Not Weasel: Lola initially thinks he's a wolf when she sees "A. Wolf" written on his toothbrush.

     Minnie
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/microsoft_edge_web_notes_charlie_a107658015.jpg
One of Lola's classmates, who knows a lot of trivia.
  • All There in the Script: Her name is actually never said in the show itself, but it's shown in the credits.
  • Book Smart: Minnie is Lola's go-to source of general knowledge despite her being no older than Lola.
  • Nerd Glasses: Downplayed. She wears glasses to read, but they're colourful as opposed to the stereotypical black glasses, and she's very knowledgeable but, while she's by no means dumb, she's not shown to be particularly intelligent, per se.

Other characters

     Sizzles
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sizzles.png
Marv's mischievous dog.
  • Informed Attribute: We're frequently told he's very intelligent but the only sign of this is that he can sit when told.

     Mrs. Hansen
Lola's teacher who, like the parents, is unseen.

     Casper
Granny and Grandpa's cat.
