Locked Pages: Lock, UnLock and Edit requests

Go To

This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:

  • creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
  • moving discussion pages
  • moving reviews

Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  1. Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
  2. Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
  3. If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
  4. We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
  5. If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here.
  6. If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
  7. To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
  8. Some locked pages have ongoing cleanup threads, like Complete Monster (Thread), Five-Man Band (Thread), and Magnificent Bastard (Thread). Other than purely technical requests, edits to these pages ought to be discussed in these threads first.
  9. Also, we do not do direct edits (other than changing wicks) to Magnificent Bastard or Complete Monster example lists. Rather, you need to do the edit to a sandbox page that follows the format Sandbox.Magnificent Bastard<Name of the example subpage> and Sandbox.Monster<Name of the example subpage> (e.g for Monster.Disney it's Sandbox.Monster Disney) and ask for it to be swapped in on Saturday for Magnificent Bastard and on Monday for Complete Monster.
  10. Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

NOTE: Edited with OP's permission.

Aargh, that's my bad. For the Baltimore entry, it should be The Curse Bells storyline (not cursed).

Hi! I would like to edit the Green Eyes trope page https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GreenEyes please. I wanted to add the Easter Bunny from Rise of the Guardians to the animated film section.smile

[up] Write up the example as you would put it on the page.

Note that personal appearance tropes like Green Eyes have suffered a lot of misuse in the past, so the moderators probably won't add your example unless you can explain how the character having green eyes is significant or symbolic in some way.

The Final Fantasy VII page is still locked out of fear of the shippers. I was thinking this could be added to the YMMV page, under Game-Breaker.

  • The Midger Zolem uses an attack called Trine, which counts as an enemy skill. If you can survive it with said materia intact you can essentially blaze through the first disc and much of the second.
  • Yuffie's ultimate weapon, the Conformer, increases damage based on how much materia is linked to it. A full set will hit Sephiroth for 9999, every time.

DTH save for that Green Eyes edit - we need an example writeup that explains how the trope fits.

At A Song of Ice and Fire, please create 2 new sections:

Main Works

(for the folders)

Others

(there will be one for that on Monday, and likely one more before too long).

For the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure tree at Anime And Manga I To R

  • Please capitalize the second J in the title
  • Please replace Cioccolata's entry with this thing:
    • Vento Aureo ("Golden Wind"):
      • Diavolo, the Big Bad of Vento Aureo, is the mysterious "boss" of Passione, who was ruthless enough to be able to edge out all the other Mafia families. However, he causes his more conscientious employees to rebel by rejecting the ethics adhered to by other mafiosi and selling hard drugs to minors. Driven by extreme paranoia, he resolves to erase all traces of his past identity and kill anyone who has seen his face. Years ago he attempted to kill his mother by sewing her mouth shut (a torment he later inflicts on a young boy) and burying her alive. He then burned his village to the ground, intending to kill everyone and being listed as a casualty; at least seven people are killed by this, and Diavolo intended to kill more. He rules his organization with an iron fist and makes a gruesome example of two of his elite assassins when they breach his privacy. He dismembers one of the men alive-which causes the other to commit suicide to avoid a similar fate-and then sends the bodies to their comrades as a macabre warning. When he learns that he has a teenage daughter, he responds by plotting to murder her, almost doing it himself before Bruno intervenes. Additionally, it was Diavolo who sold the Stand Arrows to Enya Geil, making him responsible for the outbreak of super-empowered villains that has driven the events of the series from Part III onward. Heartless, paranoid and grandiose, Diavolo believed himself to be a rightful emperor over the whole world and stopped at nothing in pursuit of power.
      • Cioccolata, the most sadistic member of Passione, is a Serial Killer whose main joy in life is seeing pain and fear expressed on the face of someone about to die. He volunteered in aged care for the chance to torture vulnerable people to death, poisoning them and breaking their spirits by telling them that no-one would come to visit them. From this cruelty was born a gruesome power: his Stand inflicts people with mold that causes them to die in agony as their bodies fall apart. He had used this power to kill innocents for years by the time he was introduced. While waiting to ambush the heroes, he kills several bystanders in this way. Rather than finishing off his targets while they're at his mercy, he waits while his similarly depraved partner Secco records their anguished expressions for posterity (enabling their escape). He then takes a helicopter to pursue his foes and kills everyone else in sight. As a sadist unconstrained by morality and reason, Cioccolata earns the contempt of everyone he encounters.

From here: Thanks smile.

Shredded Moose: Please de-Wiki Word "Gung Ho" into "gung ho", as it's a redundant work page redirect which is misused as a trope.

The Pædo Hunt page has, as an example...Norman Osborn seducing Gwen Stacy (as of the retcon). She was a grown-ass woman — she and Peter Parker met in college.

ETA: In case it's not clear, this is clearly not an example of the trope and should be removed.

Please submit these writeups to Cartoon Network and Western Animation respectively (the former going under Courage the Cowardly Dog):

  • The Great Fusilli from the eponymous episode is surprisingly heinous despite being a one-shot villain. A traveling stage magician, Fusilli lured people onto his stage on the guise of making them famous actors. He would then have them perform for an imaginary audience, in order to use enchanted puppet strings to convert them into lifeless puppets, which he would then play with for his own amusement. Once Courage finds a room filled with the dozens of people he's converted into marionettes, Fusilli turns his owners Muriel and Eustace into puppets while at the same time attempting to dispose of Courage. Although Negative Continuity undoes the effect of Muriel and Eustace's murder, the ending of the episode leaves disturbing implications. Though comparatively minor compared to more major villains of the show, Fusilli was on par with even Katz and his one appearance in the show proved to be one of the most disturbing episodes of the show's run.

  • Dragons Riders Of Berk: The fittingly-titled Dagur the Deranged is a gleefully violent madman who usurped control of the Berserkers by murdering his pacifistic father Oswald the Agreeable, and shortly thereafter sought any means to incite a war. Dagur proceeds to backstab and try to murder nearly everyone he comes across, mostly for sick thrills, hurling knives at Hiccup and trying to kill his friends, electrocuting Alvin the Treacherous to near death to seize his tribe, threatening to cut off the legs of one of his (disguised) henchmen, and taking early opportunities to hunt dragons, regardless of whether or not they could fight back. His tactics to destroy Berk include direct attacks, holding Stoick as a hostage, and driving tamed dragons into frenzies. After breaking out of prison three years after his initial defeat, Dagur perpetrates a massacre of an island village, wiping out the family of Heather (made worse due to the fact Heather is his sister) while continuing to act like a psychotic Yandere towards Hiccup and trying to kill men he's trading with with no apparent gain from it. Psychotic and wantonly violent, Dagur was the only truly irredeemable villain in the otherwise idealistic and fun series.

Would it be up for the YMMV tab of Adventure Time being unlocked? It is looking a little dated. I don't even think there is any info on Martin, Sweet P, or Orgalorg in there. Its apparently locked over fights involving "a certain character" (I'm assuming Lemongrab), but I'm assuming they either got over it or the fights will cease after "The Mountain" what with Lemongrab 3.

Please hold off on [up][up]. I'll do that with this week's batch.
Now, from here:

  • The Hellraiser tree replaces the three entries at Film F To O.
  • Live-Action TV:
    • Please delete the Angel entries and replace the Buffy entries with the Buffyverse tree.
    • Please replace the Stargate entries (all 4 of them) with the Stargate Verse tree.
Thanks smile.

It's worth noting on the 4chan page, under the boards description, /vr/ is listed as not allowing Dreamcast discussion. This was finally over-ruled by board moderators: /vr/ DOES allow Dreamcast discussion now, though, it still does not allow discussion of PS 2, Xbox, or Gamecube games (other sixth gen consoles, as it were).
