The Runaway

Dori Elizabeth Prangenote  (born January 9, 1991 in Edwardsburg, Michigan) is an American professional wrestler currently signed to All Elite Wrestling, where she performs under the name Ruby Sohonote . She is also known for her time in WWE, where she performed under the name Ruby Riott.

She was trained by Billy Roc and began her career on Juggalo Championship Wrestling as Heidi Lovelace in 2011. She later worked for a variety of Midwestern promotions, including SHIMMER, Juggalo Championship Wrestling, IWA Mid-South Wrestling, Absolute Intense Wrestling, Ohio Valley Wrestling (after this promotion became TNA's developmental system), and CHIKARA, where she was never defeated for the CHIKARA Young Lions Cup. She is also a former AAW Heritage Champion, OVW Women's Champion, AIW Women's Champion, the Ring of Champions La Copa Idolo Champion, A-1 Alpha Male Champion AND a former SHIMMER Tag Team Champion with Evie (Dakota Kai) as Team Slap Happy.

She signed a deal with WWE at the end of 2016, debuting under the name Ruby Riot, and performed in the NXT brand until the November 28, 2017 episode of SmackDown (the fallout of Survivor Series 2017) where she was renamed Ruby Riottnote  and debuted in the blue brand as the leader of The Riott Squad with Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan (formerly Crazy Mary Dobson).

At AEW's All Out pay-per-view in 2021, she debuted as the joker in the Women's Casino Battle Royale, under the name Ruby Soho.

"The Trope-Rock Ragdoll":

    open/close all folders

    In general
  • A-Cup Angst:
    • Discussed. After winning the AIW Women's Championship at AIW Faith No More, she cut this promo, where she claimed that other wrestling promoters thought she didn't "look the part" and how she "didn't have the assets" that would make her someone they would want to put over.
    • Along similar lines, in re the WWE NXT Women's Champion Asuka vs. Nikki Cross vs. Ruby Riot match from NXT TakeOver on May 20, 2017, CHIKARA manager Sidney Bakabella wrote on his Twitter, "that little boy from CHIKARA is fighting for the girls title."
  • Action Girl: Absolutely. She has had success against both women AND men.
  • Ascended Extra: In one promo, she said that her first big indie show was in AIW as a replacement and how at the time she was "some no-name broad."
  • I Have Many Names: Heidi Lovelace, Miss Heidi, Heidi the Riveter (see Wrestling Doesn't Pay below), Heidi Douglas (one match in OVW), Ruby Riot, Ruby Riott, Ruby Soho.
  • Kindhearted Cat Lover: Certainly based on these pictures. She named one of her cats "Rana."
  • Murderous Thighs: The Heidi-Can-Rana not a huracanrana, as it ends with the opponent's neck driven into the mat rather than a pin fall (a Frankensteiner).
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: 5'4 and 122 lbs., and she was able to give the 6'6", 251 lbs. Joe Pittman a crucifix powerbomb.
  • Use Your Head: Occasionally delivers headbutts to her opponents.
  • Walking Swimsuit Scene: This post of her lying on a beach in a bikini with the Misfits' logo.

As Heidi Lovelace and other pre-WWE personas
  • Abhorrent Admirer:
    • At CHIKARA Sword of Destiny, June 13, 2015, she teamed with Icarus against Kevin Condron and "Juke Joint" Lucas Calhoun. Calhoun pressed her above his head and dropped her into a swing dancing position. Heidi did NOT like it at all.
    • Oh gosh, Arik Cannon absolutely qualifies for this. See Kiss of Distraction below. In Heidi's final CHIKARA promo, before her match with Cannon at CHIKARA White Rabbit, she even speculates that Cannon might have a "secret crush" and that it might have been the reason why he held back during their matches.
  • The Ace:= She's been described as the best graduate from Billy Roc's School of Roc. If you heard any dispute of that claim, it wasn't in Chikara.
  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: Possibly. During her match with AIW Women's Champion Athena at AIW All In, July 26, 2014, the announcer mentioned her "crush on BJ Whitmer," who defeated her that same night at AIW Battle of the Sexes.
  • Alliterative Name: As Sally S'titches in Freelance Wrestling, which was also a Charlie Brown from Outta Town gimmick.
  • Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better:
    • Her match with Randi West at Pro Wrestling All-Stars of Detroit's PWASD Christmas Classic, December 12, 2014, started out like this. Randi got a 2-count off an inside cradle right at the beginning, and Heidi then did the same. They did a sequence of trading forearms. Then a sequence of Heidi nailing Randi in the corner and running to the other corner and Randi doing the same.
    • Mentioned by name by the announcers during her match with Kimber Lee at F1RST Wrestling Wrestlepalooza VIII.
  • Badass in Distress: Tommy Dreamer came to her aid to fight off an attack by Veda Scott and Ariya Daivari after Heidi's match with Veda at F1RST Wrestling Mill City Fights on September 10, 2016.
  • Badly Battered Baby Sitter: She became as much Solo Darling's babysitter as tag team partner as The Buddy System went on, having the thankless task of regulating Solo's sugar intake. It wasn't played for laughs when Better Than You broke Lovelace's leg just to torment Darling.
  • Beauty Is Never Tarnished: She did a photoshoot for 911Wrestling where she was in a tire yard and had black makeup smeared under her eyes. However, she still looked good.
  • Berserk Button: She faced"The Punk Princess" Christina Von Eerie in the semi-final of the Woman's Tournament at QPW Trouble With Angels on September 13, 2014. Christina questioned Heidi calling herself "The Punk-Rock Ragdoll" and called her a poseur. The fans picked up on it and Heidi said, "That is the worst thing that you can say to anyone", leading to Heidi Flipping the Bird to Christina.
  • The Berserker: During the Dasher's Dugout-The Gentlemen's Club match at CHIKARA Storming the Castle, she whipped Chuck Taylor to the corner, chopped Orange Cassidy and forearmed Taylor in the corner. Cassidy charged at her and Heidi sent him into Taylor, causing them to kiss.
  • Blood Knight: Here are the opening lines of her rejected CHIKARA theme song:
Tonight we're gonna fight fight hey hey
    Tonight it's time to brawl
  • Boyish Short Hair: Played with. She definitely had it when she won the AAW Heritage Title and the CHIKARA Young Lions Cup. However, she had shoulder-length hair for her non-title match with then-CHIKARA Grand Champion Eddie Kingston at Wrestling Is Heart Cardiac Arrest on October 19, 2013.
  • Breaking the Glass Ceiling: First female CHIKARA Young Lions Cup Champion, first female RCW Heavyweight Champion, first female A1 Alpha Male Champion, one-half of the first ever all-female match for the CHIKARA Grand Championship... She ran on this for a few years in the independents.
  • Breast Attack: Of the Gender-Inverted Trope variety. She and Saturyne faced AC/DC (Arik Cannon and Darin Corbin) at Wrestling Is Heart: Circulate, May 19, 2013. Heidi twisted up Cannon's nipples. Corbin looked like he was going to do the same to her...but settled for kicking her in the stomach.
  • Bullying a Dragon: Her match on Smash Wrestling's SmashTV with Vanessa Kraven made it very clear why Kraven's nickname is "The Mountain."
  • Cluster F-Bomb: She was Annie Social's second for her match with Shayna Baszler at AIW Girls Night Out 18. Shayna knocked Annie out and was hammering her with elbows and Heidi was yelling "Call the fucking match" and "Ring the fucking bell!", getting so angry that she actually grabbed the ring bell and was ringing it herself to get Shayna to stop.
  • Cool Mask: Wore one in solidarity with Saturyne as part of their entrances at CHIKARA Tag World Grand Prix and when they teamed with The Estonian Thunderfrog at Wrestling Is Heart Pulse on April 20, 2013, as seen here. Ironically, Hania (the former Saturyne) would later say that she hated the mask and was glad to get rid of it.
  • Crowd Song:
    • At the start of her match with Kimber Lee at Remix Pro Throwdown For the Pound 12: Homeward Bound on October 17, 2015, some people chanted, "Heidi's gonna kill you! Heidi's gonna kill you!" a la the chants directed at Taz' or Samoa Joe's opponents.
    • At the start of her match with Brian Fury at Beyond Wrestling When Satan Rules His World on April 26, 2015, the crowd was singing the "Hi De Ho" part from Cab Calloway's "Minnie the Moocher."
    • During the Heart Of SHIMMER Tournament, Veda Scott, who had been defeated by Lovelace in the previous round, kicked Amber Gertner off the commentary table and then started mocking the fans during Lovelace's match with Nicole Matthews for failing to get a Heidi Lovelace chant started. The crowd responded by singing "Heidi Heidi Lovelace" to the turn of We Will Rock You, which Scott admitted conceded was pretty good.
  • David Versus Goliath: At only 5'4, this is inevitable. Zigzagged depending on who her opponent is and on whether or not she wins.
    • During her match with Alexia Nicole at A1 Final Act 6, the announcers said that Heidi was only about 5'3 but that Alexia made her look like a giant.
    • She won the OVW Women's Title #1 Contendership Femme Fatales Battle Royal on the August 3, 2013 episode of OVW TV by eliminating the 5'11 218 lbs. Lei'D Tapa, who had singlehandledly eliminated everybody else from the match except for Holly Blossom.
  • Determinator: Oh yeah. It's one of her trademarks. In the match where she defeated "Money" Matt Cage for the AAW Heritage Title, her ability to get up from Cage's Money Clip dFinishing Move and keep coming back led to the announcers saying, "This girl's got balls."
    • No One Could Survive That!: The reaction to Heidi kicking out after Kimber Lee gave her a top rope sitout power bomb during their match at F1RST Wrestling Wrestlepalooza VIII.
    • Ambiguously Human: After she kicked out of a top-rope chestcracker during her match with A1 Zero Gravity Champion Kobe Durst at A1 One Crazy Night 2015, December 13, 2015, one of the commentators said, "Heidi can't be human." In fact, Kobe grew so frustrated with not being able to pin Heidi that he simply knocked out the referee and left.
  • Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: At Wrestling is Heart Cardiac Arrest on October 19, 2013, she actually defeated then-CHIKARA Grand Champion EDDIE KINGSTON in a non-title match.
  • Didn't See That Coming: She scored a quick win over Sabrina Sixx at EPW St. Patrick's Beatdown on March 3, 2014, and then grabbed the mic and asked if there was any other competition in the locker room. Unfortunately for her, Danny Cannon answered.
  • Dirty Coward:
    • Defeated "Crazy" Mary Dobson at EPW Changes Made on November 13, 2014 via Reed Bentley knocking Mary off the top and Heidi pinning her with her feet on the ropes.
    • Inverted during her match with Athena at AIW All In, since she tried the same trick, but the referee caught it.
  • Does Not Know His Own Strength: In the "Top 5 Moves of Heidi Lovelace" video, even she seems surprised when she hit a Tornado DDT on Mr. Azerbaijan.
  • Eye Scream: Hallowicked dug his fingers into Heidi's black eye during the "Golden Dreams" trios match (all participants were at one time CHIKARA Young Lions Cup Champions) where he, Chuck Taylor and Arik Cannon defeated Heidi, Fire Ant and "Mr. Touchdown" Mark Angelosetti at CHIKARA Exit Strategy, October 10, 2015, leading to Hallowicked pinning her with his Never Wake Up finisher.
  • Facial Markings: After being being left in a broken heap like a "ragdoll" by Lei'D Tapa, Lovelace embraced it by painting "stiches" on face and getting "patchwork" gear to look like a different kind of ragdoll.
  • Finishing Move: Heidi-Can-Rana, also a frog splash, though she replaced it with a top rope senton during The Heart Of SHIMMER.
  • Friendless Background: A self-described example in the promo mentioned under Abhorrent Admirer above.
  • Fun with Acronyms: She teamed with Rickey Shane Page against DJ Hyde and Penelope Ford at Wrestling Geekfest on August 15, 2015. Heidi and Rickey's team was introduced as PMA, for Pretty Much Amazing.
  • Geeky Analogy: Inverted. During the match where she defeated Matt Cage for the AAW Heritage Title, the announcers mentioned that MsChif was the first woman to ever main event in AAW, and called Heidi the "Ronda Rousey" to MsChif's "Gina Carano."
  • Genki Girl: She burst out of the curtains for her match with Kimber Lee at Remix Pro Throwdown for the Pound 12: Homeward Bound, and said, "I don't need music!" The announcers said, "she's jumpy and peppy, she's her own entrance music."
  • Gimmick Matches:
    • Defeated Hudson Envy in a Tacks, Ladders and Canes match in the first round of IWA Mid-South Queen of the Death Match 2014, June 28, 2014, but Ludark Shaitan defeated her in a semi-final Fans Bring the Weapons match later that same night.
    • Jordynne Grace d. Heidi in a Falls Count Anywhere Match at IWA Mid-South Heartbreak 2014, February 8, 2014.
  • Girl on Girl Is Hot: She and Taeler Hendrix were supposed to be in a lesbian relationship in OVW, but they never kissed. Heidi gave Taeler a "Take That!" Kiss when she realized Taeler was using her. There is, however, this picture of Taeler planting one on Heidi.
  • Girls with Moustaches: Olde Wrestling's Speakeasy Spectacular, May 8, 2015, was built around the appearance of "The Bearded Lady." The scheduled main event was Olde Wrestling World Champion Matthew Cross defending the title against Clean of the Jollyville Jeepers. Before the match, Clean said that he was going to bring out the Bearded Lady. Out walked Heidi the Riveter (see Wrestling Doesn't Pay below) wearing a beard, drawing heel heat and chants of "phony." Cross won the match and Heidi and Clean started a heel beatdown, leading to Mary Elizabeth Monroe (Ring of Honor's Kelly Klein) coming out wearing a beard, leading to a mixed-tag match, which Cross and Monroe won.
  • Gosh Dang It to Heck!: On SHIMMER, SHINE, CHIKARA and related, she tries to keep her mouth clean and stop her cussing at the first letter, d-word, especially if Solo Darling is around. On Absolute Intense and All American Wrestling shows, she more loose with her language. And if she's with Annie Social, all bets are off.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Towards Princess Kimberlee for winning the CHIKARA Grand Championship because of how "Mr. Touchdown" Mark Angelosetti's cheating cost Dasher's Dugout their shot at the finals of the Challenge of the Immortals. This video, previewing their match at CHIKARA No One's First, And You're Next on August 21, 2016, spells it out very well, including clips from her promo at CHIKARA The Secret of the Ooze on March 19, which was the first-ever all-female CHIKARA Grand Championship match.
  • Happy Birthday to You!: Some fans sang it to her after she defeated Melanie Cruise at F1RST Wrestling Wrestlepalooza on January 9, 2016.
  • Heel–Face Revolving Door: Sometimes dependent on where she is wrestling at the time. Memorably, PGWA had her as the heel against her long standing tormenter Taeler Hendrix (granted, other than Lovelace being the one heckling the fans their dynamic was otherwise unchanged).
  • Hollywood Satanism: For her match with Kimber Lee at Beyond Wrestling Americanrana 2015, she wore a Team Pazuzu shirt with a pentagram on it and was announced as "Beelzebub's Bitch."
  • I Am the Noun: From her rejected CHIKARA theme:
    "Not just another pretty face
I'm the Punk Rock Ragdoll Heidi Lovelace"
  • I Kiss Your Hand: Faced Eddie Smooth on Night II of the 2014 Young Lions Cup Tournament, November 1, 2014. Smooth wanted a kiss on the cheek at the start of the match. Heidi offered a handshake instead and Smooth kissed her hand.
  • "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight: At A1 Final Act 7, November 27, 2016, the A1 Tag Team Champions Gregory Iron and Rickey Shane Page defeated The Super Smash Brothers. After the match, Iron went off on the fans, saying he was their hero and questioning why they were chanting, "That's not Rickey!" Heidi made her way out and talked about how she could relate to Page's problems and mentioned the drugs that Iron was giving him and even said,"I can see you're in there somewhere, underneath all those pills that this jerk has been pushing on you." Heidi said that she'll have to "beat some sense" into Page and that she wasn't going to just wake him up, she's going to bring him back, with the crowd chanting, "Bring him back! Bring him back!" This set up Heidi vs. Page at A1 One More Crazy Night on December 18th, which Page won, making this an aversion.
  • I've Never Seen Anything Like This Before: This was one of the commentators' reaction to seeing Heidi's Deadly Night Shade (see Names to Run Away from Really Fast) during Heidi's match with Crazy Mary Dobson at AIW Girls Night Out 5, January 29, 2012.
  • Kayfabe: She appeared with Ray Otis and referee Ames on WNDU NewsCenter 16 Saturday Morning on September 19, 2015 to promote that day's special Headlock on Hunger event. Heidi had her RCW Heavyweight Championship belt with her. The newswoman asked Heidi how long she gets to keep the belt, and she said that she has to keep defending it until somebody beats her.
  • Kiss of Distraction:
    • Teamed with Saturyne against AC/DC (Arik Cannon and Darin Corbin) at CHIKARA Tag World Grand Prix 2013, Stage One, May 18, 2013. This being a Corbin match, there was a slow-motion sequence, which Cannon ended by kissing Heidi. She slapped him for it, and he punched her.
    • Happened again, though without the slow-motion, during Heidi's match with Arik Cannon at AIW Failure By Design, August 8, 2014.
    • And a third time, during the Sally Stitches-Arik Cannon match at Freelance Wrestling Thrash Gordon, August 21, 2015.
    • And a fourth time, via Cannon again, during the "Golden Dreams" trios match mentioned under Eye Scream above.
    • Heidi used the same approach to set up pinning Cannon with a small package in her last CHIKARA match, at CHIKARA White Rabbit, one of the "lost" Season 17 events.
  • Lampshade Hanging: Heidi's match with Crazy Mary Dobson at AIW Girls Night Out 5, which was only a little over a year into Heidi's career and only a few months into Mary's, included some mistakes, which one of the commentators covered for by saying, "I haven't seen the smoothest match I've ever seen, but I have seen a lot of cool shit."
  • Love Letter Lunacy: The storyline between Heidi and Taeler Hendrix in OVW (see Girl on Girl Is Hot above) started in April 2013, when Taeler was receiving gifts from a secret admirer. Taeler thought they were from either her boyfriend Dylan Bostic or from Ryan Howe, leading to many pull-apart brawls. On the April 24th episode, Bostic and Doug Williams fought Howe and then-OVW Heavyweight Champion Jamin Olivencia to a double-countout. After Williams and Olivencia left, Bostic and Howe continued fighting until Taeler ran in to stop them. Both guys denied sending Taeler the presents. Then Heidi walked to the ring and said that she was the one who sent them. The following week, Heidi confronted Taeler in the ring and said that Bostic and Howe didn't care about her but that she, Heidi, really does. Taeler said she'd need some time to think about that. This would eventually lead to the reveal that Taeler was manipulating Heidi to make it easier for her to regain the OVW Women's Title (but Heidi caught on and lost the belt to Taryn Terrell later)
  • Modesty Towel: On the July 3, 2013 episode of OVW TV, Heidi was seen wearing one of these when she overheard Manipulative Bitch Taeler Hendrix bragging to Nikki St. John in the locker room about having Heidi wrapped around her little finger, as seen here.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast:
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Accidentally knocked Princess Kimberlee off the apron during the match where they teamed with Team Sea Stars (Ashley Vox and Delmi Exo) against the heXed Men (Icarus, Mark Angelosetti and The Batiri [Obariyon and Kodama]) at CHIKARA When Nature Calls, July 23, 2016, and Kimberlee confronted her about it. This led to the heXed Men winning the match.
  • No-Sell: Juan Francisco de Coronado gave her a low blow during their encore match at CHIKARA 5 Senses, January 30, 2016, which had no effect on her.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: She had this going back to her time in Billy Roc's School of Roc. During her match with TRASH, April 23, 2012, the announcers compared to her to Danny Hodge.
  • Power Stable:
    • (in SHINE): Daffney's All-Star Squad(Daff's A.S.S.)
    • (in CHIKARA): Dasher's Dugout
    • (in Stardom): Kimura Monster-gun, then Oedo~Tai when Kyoko Kimura ceded leadership to Act Yasukawa.
    • (in Beyond Wrestling): Team Pazuzu
  • Precision F-Strike: In the promo where she explained why she joined Team Pazuzu, she mentioned how she and Brian Fury "tore the fucking house down."
    • In the match at Wrestling Geekfest, she yelled at DJ Hyde, who was billed as "The Lariat God," "You want a lariat, motherfucker?"
    • Her rejected CHIKARA theme had a few of these.
"Took out his ass with a baseball bat"
"I'm more than woman I'm a goddamn machine"
  • Pun: She sells a T-Shirt that features the slogan, "Made With Love for a Lovelace World."
  • Purple Is Powerful: Not all the time, but, she wore purple a lot.
  • Red Baroness: "The Punk-Rock Ragdoll", "The Vintage Vixen".
  • The Resenter: Check out her facial expressions when Princess Kimberlee is talking about being the first female CHIKARA Grand Champion during their promo at CHIKARA Tightrope on June 11, 2016.
  • Rule of Three: Tried twice to hit Rey Mysterio Jr.'s (619) move (which, in her case, would be the (765)) during her match with Thunderkitty at IPW Renascence, but Thunderkitty got out of the way both times. Heidi managed to hit the Deadly Night Shade and followed with the (619) for the win.
  • Screwed by the Network: In-Universe in Channel Islands World Wrestling. At the June 5, 2016 event, CIWW World Champion of the World Classy Ric threw out an open challenge and Heidi accepted it and defeated Ric for the title in about three minutes in a near-total Squash Match. She was stripped of the title later that night when referee Ian Stewart ruled that Ric was injured and should not have been "forced to fight."
  • Self-Deprecation: For the match with Jordynne Grace at IWA Mid-South Heartbreak 2014, she wore a T-shirt that read, "LAST PLACE."
  • She Is the King: CHIKARA did not rename the Young Lions Cup the "Young Lioness Cup" for her.
  • Shout-Out: On her T-shirts:
  • Spiteful Spit: To A1 Zero Gravity Champion Kobe Durst during their match at A1 One Crazy Night 2015.
  • Stay in the Kitchen: Discussed/defied in her rejected theme, leading to the fourth example under Precision F-Strike:
"Why should I cook why should I clean?"
  • Tag Team:
    • Team LoveLee, with Kimber Lee.
    • Brutally Heartless, as Miss Heidi with Brutus Dylan.
    • The Buddy System, with Solo Darling.
    • The Social Network, with Annie Social.
    • Team Slap Happy, with Evie.
  • Tattooed Crook: If she's a heel. She has several tattoos, including a big one on her chest.
  • Theatrics of Pain: She's not called "The Punk-Rock Ragdoll" for nothing. While not a "true" ragdoll in the contortionist sense, coming back from or at least surviving punishment that by rights should have Lovelace in a coma is part of her gimmick.
  • This Is for Emphasis, Bitch!: During the match at Wrestling Geekfest, she hit a German Suplex on Penelope Ford while yelling, "German Suplex, bitch!"
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: With Princess Kimberlee. This is especially evident in their respective Olde Wrestling gimmicks of Heidi the Riveter and "Kickin'" Kimber Lee, a wrestling Flapper.
  • Too Many Belts: Held the CHIKARA Young Lions Cup while holding the RCW Heavyweight Title AND the AIW Women's Title, and La Copa Idolo.
  • Tournament Arc:
    • On May 14, 2011, Brutally Heartless defeated Team Wreckless (Blackjack Majik and Nick Xero) and Hank Calhoun and Mike King in the finals of the 2011 Totally Independent Tag Team Tournament at Eagles in South Bend, IN, held by NWA Underground and NWA Midwest to win the RCW Tag Team Titles.
    • Defeated Arik Cannon to become the inaugural FEST Wrestling Champion at the promotion's October 30, 2016 event.
  • Underestimating Badassery: Just ask Matt Cage or Eddie Kingston. In fact, in this promo, hyping her match with SHIMMER Champion Nicole Matthews for AAW Hell Hath No Fury on April 10, 2015, she talks about how she's been an underdog her whole life and how there have always been people who thought that she couldn't do something or that she didn't deserve to win the AAW Heritage Title.
  • Unsportsmanlike Gloating: Holding up the OVW Women's Title belt and doing the same kind of fingerlick pose that Mickie James did in her match with Trish Stratus at WrestleMania XXII, though more in a sense of "What you can do to me," rather than "What I'd like to do to you."
  • Unwanted Assistance: After the match with Danny Cannon mentioned under Didn't See That Coming, Heidi raised Cannon's hand in victory and tried to show respect by shaking Cannon's hand, but her cornerman Reed Bentley pulled her away and even tried carrying her off with her sitting on his shoulders, until he let her down and she walked to the back.
  • Urban Legend Love Life: AIW said that she had a crush on BJ Whitmer. During the match where she defeated Arik Cannon to become the inaugural FEST Wrestling Champion, the commentators said they were in a relationship and questioned, if they got married, how they would explain this match to their kids. After Heidi defeated Taeler Hendrix for the OVW Women's Title, Taeler accused Heidi of getting the title "on her back." No evidence has ever been provided for any of these.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Kimber Lee. On October 27th, 2015, the Ohio promotion Remix Pro Wrestling tweeted a picture of the two together sticking their tongues out with the caption "Good friends better enemies." Additionally, their Depending on the Writer Heel–Face Revolving Door tendencies suggest that they may be destined to fight forever.
  • Woman Scorned: OVW Women's Champion Trina was on commentary for the OVW Women's Title #1 Contendership Femme Fatales Battle Royal on the August 3, 2013 episode, which had Taeler and Heidi as the first two participants, and she called Heidi this.
  • Would Hit a Girl: BDK member Nøkken chokeslammed Heidi when she had Wrestling is Heart La Copo Idolo Champion Joe Pittman in the CHIKARA Special during their match at National Pro Wrestling Day 2014, February 1, 2014, as part of the Flood's invasion, making it an outright invoking of What Could Have Been. Understand that Heidi is 5'4 and 122 lbs. and Nøkken is 6'8 and 316 lbs.
  • Wouldn't Hit a Girl: In this interview, she talked about her male opponents sometimes being reluctant to hit her.
  • Wrestling Doesn't Pay:
    • As Heidi the Riveter in Olde Wrestling. The promotion describes itself as a "reenactment event celebrating the competition of professional wrestling as it was presented at the turn-of-the-20th century."
    • Working Class Heel: This video shows her working at the factory and receiving and reading a telegram (complete with Telegraph Gag STOP) that says that she will be facing "Kicking" Kimber Lee at Olde Wrestling And Yet Another Extravaganza of Wrestling Exhibitions on August 28th, and objecting to Kimber Lee's Flapper lifestyle.

    As Ruby Riot(t)
  • Alliterative Name: Ruby Riott
  • Arch-Enemy: She and Nikki Cross became foes the moment Ruby debuted, and the two spent the next few months fighting or calling the other out.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Made her debut by rushing to Tye Dillinger, Roderick Strong, and No Way Jose's aid as they were being assaulted by SAnitY, which finally gave the three someone who could deal with Nikki Cross.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Played one of Adam Rose's "Rosebuds" on the December 15, 2014 Raw.
  • Enemy Mine: Although she and Nikki Cross despised each other, they cooperated at several points during their Fatal Threeway championship match against Asuka at NXT TakeOver: Chicago.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: Befitting the chaos that she and her Power Trio represent, her look as Ruby Riott is about as asymmetrical as possible. She has a sleeve tattoo on her right arm only, wears tights that are long on the right and short on the left, shaves one side of her head with the other side sporting long hair, and wears tape on her left hand but not her right.
  • Heel Jobber: Since being called up to WWE's main roster, she has lost far more times than she has won.
  • I'm Not Here to Make Friends: Ruby said this word for word in the Riott Squad's debut promo.
  • Kaleidoscope Hair: Wore a green wig for her appearance as a Rosebud on Raw. She usually has red hair as the leader of the Riott Squad. She would later sport teal hair following her return to Raw in 2020.
  • Power Trio: The Riott Squad, with Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: As a heel.
  • Reformed, but Rejected: To Liv Morgan. She tries to console with her former Riott Squad teammate, after losing to Natalya, but Morgan immediately rejects her. Thankfully, they got better.
  • The Resenter: Her feuds (and, by extension, The Riott Squad's) with people such as Charlotte Flair and Natalya Neidhart: Ruby and her friends had to earn every single accolade and achievement they fought for, while they got the benefit from coming from wrestling families.
  • Supermodel Strut: Struts to the ring for her Tables Match with Natalya Neidhart at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2018, as seen here.
  • Tattoo as Character Type: Several of them, very visibly on her torso and both arms, establishing her as a rebellious free spirit.
  • Xtreme Kool Letterz: Riott

    As Ruby Soho
  • Arch-Enemy:
    • In the latter half of 2022, by siding with Eddie Kingston during his feud with Chris Jericho and the Jericho Appreciation Society, Ruby became heated enemies with both Tay Melo and later Anna Jay, when the former joined the JAS to help her friend. For a long time, Ruby barely got any wins from the feud and even received a broken nose from Tay. After she returned from injury, Ruby continued to feud with the duo but still couldn't get the upper hand until an episode of Rampage in 2023 where she and Willow Nightingale defeated Anna and Tay in a bloody street fight match that left Ruby with a bloody face.
    • Ruby has been feuding with Dr. Britt Baker and her cahoots (Jamie Hayter and Rebel) ever since she first set foot on AEW. Most of the time, the feud involves Britt mocking Ruby for failing to capture a title despite multiple attempts. After failing to win the AEW Women's World Championship as a result of Jamie and Rebel's interference, Ruby would again face Britt at the finals of the Owen Hart tournament at Double or Nothing 2022 only to lose again. In the weeks heading to Revolution 2023, Ruby is caught in the rivalry between Britt's faction (now with Jamie as the champion) and Saraya/Toni Storm. After losing another championship match, Ruby turns heel and attacks Jamie and Britt, officially allying herself with Saraya and Toni to form the Outcasts.
  • Boisterous Bruiser: Generally, very happy to slug it out with her opponents.
  • Boyish Short Hair: She's back to it, now that she has more control over her own appearance.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • Many Easter Eggs in her "Runaway" videos, including her expired "Heidi Lovelace" ID and a graffiti-covered wall that reads "the riot is over".
    • Busted out the Heidi-can-rana on Kris Statlander in their Owen Cup semifinal match.
  • Establishing Character Moment: If you didn't happen to catch any of her "Runaway" videos that teased her joining AEW, it was a total shock to hear Rancid's "Ruby Soho" blaring through the arena at All Out 2021, and Ruby making her AEW debut as the Joker in the Women's Casino Battle Royale.
  • Face–Heel Turn: Betrayed the Face turned Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter in Revolution 2023, revealing herself as a member of the Outcasts with Saraya and Toni Storm.
  • Finishing Move: Her first was a Sole Food/Eat Defeat called "Destination Unknown", as a nod to her entrance theme. She's kept the name but changed the move to a Shellshock.
  • Fiery Redhead: Debuted with a fire-engine red bob to match her name.
  • Leitmotif: "Ruby Soho" by Rancid. She's friends with Lars Frederiksen, the band's lead, and he greenlit her using the song as her entrance theme as well as the song's name as her Stage Name.
  • Morality Pet: For Eddie Kingston, made very clear in his promo for his Barbed Wire Everywhere Match against Chris Jericho, where she was explicitly targeted by the JAS because of her connection to Eddie.
Eddie: Every drop of blood is a sin you have committed, Chris. And that last drop of blood before you pass out? That's for my Ruby.
  • One of the Boys: Hangs out with Eddie Kingston and Ortiz instead of having any female friends. Discontinued since joining The Outcasts alongside Saraya and Toni Storm.
  • Red Baron: "The Runaway"
  • The Rival: Tay Melo is becoming hers. It started simply as Tay and Ruby being the only women on their respective teams of the Jericho Appreciation Society and Blackpool Combat Club + Associates. Then Tay broke Ruby's wrist in a car door (a message from Jericho to Eddie Kingston) and Tay and Sammy broke Ruby's nose in another match months later. Now, it's on-sight between them.
  • Ship Tease: With Angelo Parker, the two engaging in playful banter multiple times in backstage promos, and Angelo even staring at Ruby's butt as she walked away at one point.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Since her feud with Tay Melo got her a broken wrist and a broken nose, Ruby hasn't been a fan of teaming up with anyone, which made her matches with Willow Nightingale against TayJay less than fun for Ruby.
  • We Used to Be Friends: She used to get along well with Willow Nightingale, the two having teamed up together before in the past and Ruby even defending her from Saraya and Toni Storm after the latter beat her. After Ruby's Face–Heel Turn, Willow tries to talk down Ruby from spray painting Skye Blue after Ruby defeated her. Ruby rejects Willow's offer, and beats her up alongside Saraya and Toni Storm, allowing Willow to be spray painted as well.
