Averted when the spear thrown by King Leonidas wounds, but fails to kill, Xerxes. It only cuts his cheek open.
Played straight, however, to the Captain; in the last stand, he's impaled by a Persian spearman and a couple of Dual WieldingImmortals, so he hacks at the Immortals, then pulls himself up the spear to finish off its (at this point terrified) wielder.
In The Abominable Dr. Phibes, the seventh victim, Dr. Whitcombe, is impaled on a brass unicorn head catapulted from across the street.
Ajnabee: During the climax when Raj and Vicky are fighting on the cruise ship, Vicky gets killed by getting impaled on the ship's anchor, albeit with a Gory Discretion Shot.
Aliens: Near the end of the movie, Bishop the gentle android (one of Ripley's surviving allies) gets impaled from behind quite suddenly and unexpectedly by the sharp spike on the end of the Alien queen's tail. And then the queen rips him apart, literally. Being an artificial lifeform, he does "survive", although badly damaged.
When she wakes up on the prison planet in Alien³, Ripley learns that Corporal Hicks was impaled in the crash. (And that Newt "drowned".)
The Amazing Colossal Man features a scene where the good guys try to cure Glenn Manning by injecting him with an antidote, using a cartoonishly giant syringe. Glenn responds by grabbing the syringe which is normal sized to him, and hurling it at them, impaling one of them.
Apocalypto: The villain is impaled by a trap made for boars.
In Australia, Fletcher is impaled by a metal rod thrown by King George. This is a Karmic Death, as Fletcher speared the husband of one of the protagonists at the beginning of the movie in order to gain his property and frame King George.
AVP: Alien vs. Predator: The Predators attack and impale several people with their spears (and in one case, their retractable claws). Later, the lead Predator (having performed a Heel–Face Turn) is himself impaled from behind on the Queen Alien's tail (obvious nod to Bishop from Aliens).
Bad Apples: After the girls attack Principal Dale, his secretary finds him on the floor, with the large flag pole in his office driven through his stomach from the back.
Bad Kids Go to Hell: Following a Staircase Tumble, Craig is impaled upon a crutch with enough force that his heart is stuck on the end of his crutch outside his body.
Ben-Hur (1959): Judah Ben-Hur's spear throw is powerful enough to run the Macedonian soldier who attempted to kill Quintus Arrius through during the naval battle.
Subverted in Black Rain. The final fight ends with Michael Douglas' Cowboy Cop wrestling the Big Bad towards a large pile of jagged spikes. The camera cuts in a way that seems as though he's going to impale the guy, but the scene immediately cuts to Douglas bringing him in to the police instead, alive, well, and unimpaled.
Blood Surf: The crocodile is finally killed when the survivors trick it into pursuing them down a slippery mountainside, where it falls of the edge and impales itself on a stone pike.
The Bloody Man: Sam stabs his sword through The Bloody Man's torso in the final confrontation with him.
Brahms: The Boy II: When Jude's cousin's family come to visit, Jude, his cousin Will, and Sophie head outside to play. They bring out some croquet mallets, but Will isn't interested and just breaks one in half, leaving the broken stick planted in the ground. When Will and Jude get into a fight, Jude lets Will fall on the sharpened stick, getting it driven through Will's shoulder and necessitating a trip to the hospital.
Bram Stoker's Dracula makes extensive use of this trope during the battle montage early on.
The Bride: After learning that Bela was responsible for Rinaldo's death, Viktor grabs him bodily, lifts him above his head and hurls him at the lion's cage, where he is impaled on one of the bars.
Bunni: Chris gets accidentally impaled through the torso with a broken baseball bat by his mom.
The Burning: Glazer, through the throat, against a tree.
Subverted in The Cable Guy. During the climactic fight Jim Carrey's unnamed titular villain suffers a nasty fall onto a giant satellite dish which sports a central spike, but instead of landing on the spike, he lands next to it and survives the fall to be rescued by helicopter.
Given how trope-obsessed he is, he is visibly disappointed by this development.
Cadaver (2020): Leonora kills Lars by shoving him so one of the giant hooks in the meat locker ends up driven through his torso.
Camp Slaughter has frequent impalements whether it's spears through stomachs, machetes through chests, billhooks through heads, a pitchfork through the two lovers...
Gore-fest Cannibal Holocaust has a pretty infamous scene (that also served as the movie poster) in which a native girl is impaled in a way that makes most of the other examples on this page look tame. It was so squicky that the director was actually accused of murdering the actress for that scene and had to show how he pulled the scene off and present the very much alive actress to avoid the charges. The most unnerving part of the impaling (besides, well the impaled girl) is The Reveal that the titular cannibals didn't kill her. The camera crew did it to get more exciting footage.
In Cherry Falls, the killer falls over a balcony and is impaled on debris below.
At the end of Chronicle, Matt impales Andrew using a statue's spear.
Clawed: In one scene, a member of a search party has a tree branch shoved through his throat and come out of the back of his head.
The well-deserved death of a child-killing brute in Cliffhanger, at the end of a meter-long stalagmite.
In the climax of Cobra, Lieutenant "Cobra" Cobretti lifts up the Big Bad and impales him on a hook, which then proceeds to wheel into a furnace. It's justthat kind of film.
The Hero hurls a pipe that impales the Big Bad, and steam vents through his torso! Steam that's flowing oddly well considering there's a chunk of Bennett in the pipe...
Con Air: Billy Bedlam gets impaled on a broken strut in the cargo bay during his fight with Poe.
Conan the Barbarian (1982): During the Battle of the Mounds, Thorgrim, one of Thulsa Doom's two Dragons, gets impaled by a big old trap set up by Conan, which involves a spike the size of your average birch tree getting him right through the chest. Ouch.
How the Grand Vizier who is performing the ritual to revive Dagoth is killed by Zula.
Also Queen Taramis on Dagoth's horn.
In The Crazies (2010), one of "the crazies" (armed with a pitchfork) shambles into a field hospital full of people who are strapped to beds and cannot move, completely helpless and unable to escape. You can guess what happens next.
Creep Van: Near the end of the film, when Campbell returns to the car wash at night and discovers everyone's been murdered, one thing he finds is one of his coworkers impaled through the chest with a car muffler.
The aforementioned Mutual Kill from Batman v Superman is featured again from different angles in slow-motion as Superman's dying screams awaken a Mother box on the other side of the world.
In the ancient times battle, Darkseid kills the alien Green lantern by impaling him with the pointy end of his polearm's handle.
In the Final Battle, Batman maneuvers the Batmobile in such a way that some of the Parademons harrassing it get thrown aside. One of them impales itself on a sharp metal beam.
Steppenwolf gets impaled In the Back by Aquaman's trident before Wonder Woman beheads him at the end.
In Dead Again the main villain is impaled by a giant pair of scissors.
Deadly Advice: When her car crashes, Beth is thrown through the windscreen and ends up impaled on the bale spike on the back of a tractor.
In the film's introduction, Deadpool stabs a mook with two katanas, holding him up like a "fucking kebab".
Ajax impales Wade Wilson with a metal pipe during their duel in the test facility, and thanks to Wilson's new powers, he survives the impalement.
In the final scene of The Dead Pool, after delivering his final line, Dirty Harry shoots the big bad with a harpoon gun pinning him to a wall with camera shot showing the tip of the harpoon piercing the wall.
Dog Soldiers: Corporal Campbell meets this fate early in the film when fleeing from whatever is stalking the squad in the woods, only to run himself through on a tree branch.
In a deleted scene of Donnie Darko, Donnie is impaled on a rafter when the plane crashes through his bedroom roof.
Don't Listen: In the movie's prologue, the child psychologist who saw Eric was driving away when the witch ghost possesses her. Under the ghost's power, she veers off the road and drives a large tree branch through the windshield of her car... and her face.
Subverted in Doomsday, as nobody gets impaled in a fight in an arena full of spikes.
One of the thieves in Dracula 2000 is impaled by spikes in Van Helsing's vault, triggered by their attempts to open Dracula's coffin. Given what happens later, he's the lucky one.
In Dracula Untold, this was Vlad's calling card during his time as a janissary in the Turkish army, to the extent that he earned the name 'Lord Impaler'. Having forsworn it by the time the film begins, he nevertheless falls back into it, impaling first an Ottoman emissary, and then later an entire Ottoman regiment.
A redneck in Drive Angry gets half a broken baseball bat thrown through his head, while ALREADY hanging impaled by the other half of the bat through his shoulder.
Duel of the Ironfist ends with an Everybody's Dead, Dave ending, with one of the two heroes getting a pointed bamboo pole shoved through his back and coming out of his torso. Both mortally injured heroes manage to have a heartfelt conversation while lying on the ground bleeding out to deaths, and the impaled one (the pointy side still visible through his stomach) asks his friend to remove the pole so that he could die painlessly.
Elysium: Kruger doesn't just use that sword for cooking. He stabs his sword full length through Julio and into the ground beneath him without difficulty.
Mr. Han, the Big Bad of Enter the Dragon, meets his end when Bruce Lee kicks him into a spear that Han had earlier hurled at him during an early part of their final duel, which also makes this a case of Hoist by His Own Petard.
Excalibur: "Come, father. Let us embrace at last." Mordred spears Arthur, who pulls himself down the shaft and returns the favour with Excalibur. In Le Morte d'Arthur, though, it's the other way round, with Mordred dragging himself along the spear and Arthur getting a sword through the head.
The Big Bad in Exit Wounds dies this way. What adds to the "ouch" factor is the girth of the pipe he falls on and that it isn't sharp.
In Faceless, Morgan kills Gordon by shoving back into a spiked tool rack where he impales the back of his skull.
Fair Game: Sparks leaps at Jessica, misses, and impales himself on the horn of an anvil.
This is a personal favorite manner of Death in the Final Destination series. Each film in the franchise has at least one impalement as part of the death toll.
In Final Destination 2, Burke is the first character to die in the premonition when one of the stray logs that cause the whole mess impale his car. In the real world, Kat gets her head impaled by a spike while the firemen are attempting to evacuate her from a crashed car. She narrowly avoided the spike during the crash, but the firemen decide that the best way to save her is by ramming the hood, which causes the airbag to release and push her into the spike.
Final Destination 3 has Erin, the fifth survivor, getting repeatedly stabbed by a nail gun, which goes through her torso and face, including eyes.
Final Destination 4: In the first premonition, both Nick and Andy are killed by the stadium's metal and wooden rods impaling them, Nick through his chest, Andy through his head. In the second premonition, the cinema's explosion sends sharp metals that stab a lot of people in the audience, including Lori.
Final Destination 5: The deaths in the premonition starts and ends with this trope, with Candice in the former and Peter in the latter.
In First Blood, one of the traps Rambo constructs during the manhunt in the woods impales a sheriff's deputy with spikes.
Emperor Ming's right-hand man, Klytus, is impaled on the spike-covered floor of an arena in the hawkman city.
Emperor Ming is impaled on a freakin' spaceship.
Flavia the Heretic: When Sister Agatha mocks him, the duke hurls his lance at her and she is impaled upon it; the point coming out her back.
In Flesh for Frankenstein, after having his hand severed (and throwing it at his attacker), Baron Frankenstein manages to give a final monologue while impaled on a sharp-tipped pole.
A humorous double example: In Forklift Driver Klaus (watch it here), a parody of safety videos, Klaus first impales a man with a chainsaw on the fork, followed by a man with sound-proof headphones. At the end, Klaus now headless, thanks to said chainsaw keeps driving away from the factory with both of them still impaled.

Jane is pinned to a tree with a tent spike in Part VII.
Jim is impaled with a spear gun, Miles is impaled on the mast, and one of the gang members is impaled on a syringe in Part VIII.
Vickie and Robert are impaled on fire pokers on two separate occasions in Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday. The unrated version shows Deborah being impaled and ripped apart by a signpost (this is only implied in the normal cut.)
In Jason X, Dr. Wimmer is impaled on a metal pole, Stoney is impaled on a machete, Condor is impaled on a drill, Briggs is impaled on a hook, and Brodski is impaled with a spike and a machete but he somehow survives and later sacrifices himself.
In Freddy vs. Jason, Trey is impaled three times with a machete, Gibb and a raver who was trying to rape her are impaled on a pole, Shack is impaled on a flaming machete, Charlie is impaled on a shelf bracket. The monsters don't get off either. During the final battle Jason is impaled by multiple metal bars and Freddy Krueger is impaled with his own arm.
In Gladiator, in their first fight in the Roman Coliseum Hagen bodily lifts his defeated opponent and impales him on the spikes lining the top of the arena walls.
Great White: During the climax, the second shark chases Kaz into the shipwreck. When it gets wedged in the structure of the wreck, Kaz is able to dislodge a broken beam so that it falls and impales the shark.
Many of the deaths in the Halloween series are an example of this trope:
In Hellboy (2004), Implacable Man Kroenen is impaled (at least) twice - obviously the first time didn't take. The last time he's hurled into a pit of giant spikes and then has a giant cog slammed onto him for good measure.
Just as much a recurring theme throughout Hellboy (2019) as the Eye Scream. The first attack on Nimue in the Action Prologue involves a javelin through her chest, Hellboy ends up on the receiving end multiple times as well, and several unfortunate Londoners get kebabed on a giant demon's legs, to name but a few examples.
Subverted in Hero (2002), where it looks for a moment like the Emperor has been impaled on the protagonist's sword, but he actually just rammed the hilt against the Emperor's abdomen.
Hollow Man has the invisible lead doing a non-fatal impalement with a crowbar.
In House of Wax (2005), Paige is impaled through the head with a length of jagged pipe that then holds her up as her body attempts to slump to the floor.
The Ice Road: When Tantoo's rig gets caught in the avalanche, she gets speared through the shoulder by a broken branch.
And in Raiders of the Lost Ark, Satipo's betrayal of Indy leads immediately to a case of multiple spikes through the head. "Throw me the idol, I'll throw you the whip."
Bond offs a mook with a spear gun in Licence to Kill and Thunderball; Thunderball also has the Bond girl impale Big Bad and SPECTRE leader Largo with a spear gun.
Cuban assassin Hector Gonzales takes a dive into his pool early in For Your Eyes Only, and gets an arrow in the back on his way down.
Never Say Never Again has this film's version of Lippe, who is a thug, get stunned when Bond throws what turns out to be his own pee into his face, and he falls back onto a test tube rack and is impaled on them.
Licence to Kill also has Big Bad Sanchez impale army man Heller on a forklift when he's told Heller is a mole.
A velociraptor dies like this after being kicked out of a window.
Narrowly averted, twice, when a Stegosaurus swings its spiked tail at Sarah Harding.
And then a third time when Peter Ludlow is nearly gored from behind by a charging Triceratops.
In Jurassic World, a Pteranodon does this to a Red Shirt, and another nearly does it to the kids before skidding to an ungainly and awkward stop. This seems to be the modus operandi of the Pteranodons in the film, as they can be seen doing this to a bunch of people during their attack on Main Street. Certainly justified, as their main weapons are their long, sharp, toothless beaks.
Kild TV: When Adel is exposed as the killer, the rest of the crew remember that Lucas is alone with her. When they let him know, Adel kills him by stabbing him through the torso with a boom mic.
Killer Angels: In the climax of Devil Hunters, Ray Lui and Ken Lo are beating the snot out of each other, culminating with Lui lifting Ken Lo above his head and impaling him on a sharp bamboo pole oddly positioned right above them.
In Ladyhawke, the evil bishop is impaled quite suddenly, with the blade going right through his throne behind him while he was attempting to impale the heroine.
The Lady Hermit: The title character (played by Cheng Pei-Pei) is fighting a bunch of guys in a bamboo grove. She jumps up and clings to one of the shoots, but a guy hacks through the shoot. She falls, but after a brief scuffle manages to kick the guy so he flies back and gets impaled on the stump.
In The Last Witch Hunter, this is the fate of the Witch Queen both times she's killed, and both times it's the same sword she's impaled at.
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: During the fight between Allan Quatermain and the Fantom's men in Africa, Allan pushes one of the men into a rhinoceros's horn mounted on a wall, killing him.
In Lethal Weapon 4Big Bad Wah Sing Ku is impaled by a spear from Murtaugh, this doesn't kill him he does die later when Riggs shoots him with a machine gun.
A super-powered punch from Rhea leaves Brooke impaled on a stop sign in Life Blood.
Peter Jackson seems to have a fondness for this trope. Saruman dies in the extended version of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King by getting stabbed, falling off the tower of Isengard and onto a spiky wheel of a machine. For bonus symbolism points, the wheel then shifts because of his weight and turns until Saruman is on the bottom, hidden beneath the pool of water.
Treebeard: The filth of Saruman is washing away.
The fact that Saruman is played by Christopher "Dracula" Lee adds extra significance to his impalement (which of course doesn't happen in the book). He lampshades this on the behind on the scenes featurettes, remarking "I can't help feeling I've been here before."
Special mention should go to Sam's stabbing of an orc from behind in The Return of the King, as he does this with Sting and the orc-detecting blade glows blue as it emerges from the target's chest.
One nameless extra in at the Battle of Helm's Deep portion of The Two Towers gets hit with a projectile that's normally used to propel ladders. When it hits a squishy human (with no plot armour) this trope ensues.
Éowyn finishes off the Witch King by impaling him through the face (after Merry has hamstrung him, as per the books). This is a change from the books where she decapitates him instead.
At the end, Michael impales David on the horns of a stuffed antelope head.
Mere minutes later, Grandpa piles fenceposts on the hood of his jeep, drives the vehicle in through the window of his house and impales the Head Vampire.
In Madhouse (1974), the killer murders Elizabeth's foster parents by stabbing them with a sword with a single thrust so hard that it impales both of them.
Tony a.k.a. Iron Man does to with his fists to multiple of the Hammer Drones like they're made of cardboard in the climax of Iron Man 2.
One of the Ice Giants impales ‎Fandral with a ice spike in Thor but thanks to efforts of his friends and being a Asgardain he recovers pretty quickly.
Poor Agent Phil Coulson is The Avengers (2012) gets impaled by Loki's scepter when he tries to stop the villain by himself, Thor's Big "NO!" is the real icing on the cake.
Those infected with Extremis can punch straight the Iron Man Armour, like Pepper does in Iron Man 3.
Thor: The Dark World: Double whammy, when Loki stabs Kurse with a giant blade through the back, only for the guy to turn around and impale Loki with the same blade whilst it's still in his body.
Doctor Strange (2016): Stephen gets impaled by a Space Shard thrown by one of Kaecilius's zealots, which leads to his Old Flame Christine having to treat him and remarking that the wound is unnatural. Strange does recover from the attack, though, and the same cannot be said for the Ancient One.
Forest Whitaker's Zuri is not fortunate in Black Panther (2018)as he when he stops Erik Killmonger killing T'challa and admits that he is partly responsible for the death of N'Jobu's Killmonger's father, which leads to Erik impaling Zuri with hesitation.
Heimdall doesn't make it out of the first scene as when he saves Bruce Banner/The Hulk by using Biofrost energy to send him to Earth, he punished for his heroics when Thanos impales him with Corvus Glaive's weapon.
Vision is impaled from behind by Corvus Glaive with a spear that nullifies his power and renders him near immobile for most of the movie.
Glaive gets a taste of his own medicine as not only does Black Widow stick him after saving Vison and Scarlet Witch, but Vison himself gets to impale Corvus Glaive from behind in revenge to rescue Captain America.
Poor Tony gets stabbed through the abdomen with his own tech-blade by Thanos who overpowers him in the Final Battle, which seems like the end of MCU's first hero. But Tony just sprays the wound with some medical spray which stops him from bleeding out.
Subverted in Spider-Man: No Way Home. History nearly repeated itself with the Green Goblin being impaled on his Glider (similar to how he met his end in the below-mentioned 2002 film), but he's saved by the Raimi Spidey preventing the MCU Spidey from doing the deed. Not that the Goblin is grateful for the intervention, as he decides to stab Raimi Spidey In the Back in retaliation. Fortunately, both of them live.
The Matrix: Trinity dies this way during the final movie.
Mirrors: At the climax, the mirror demon whilst it's possessing Anna gets impaled on debris.
Near the beginning of Mission: Impossible (1996), Jack, sitting on top of an elevator, gets a ride straight up into triggered spikes and gets his face impaled.
In Mohawk, Oak finally kills Holt by throwing him onto the burnt remains of a tree, impaling him through the heart.
Godzilla (2014): The male MUTO's fate. Godzilla hits the male Muto with a Tail Slap, smashing it into a building and impaling it on the structure.
This is part of how the Mother Longlegs immobilize and kill their prey in Kong: Skull Island and the sequel graphic novel The Birth of Kong. They stab a giant, bladed spider-like leg into their prey, effectively impaling humans. What's worse, their Monarch profile in The Birth of Kong states their legs paralyze their prey with poison whilst the Mother Longlegs drinks their insides through the leg.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019): Rodan. In the climax, Mothra stabs him straight through the shoulder and out his back with her stinger, severely injuring him and taking him out of the battle, though he survives.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Just before Sir Robin and company meet the three headed knight they pass by the evidence of his combat ability: three knights impaled on a lance which is stuck into a tree.
In Mortal Kombat: The Movie, Liu Kang hurling a bucket of water, the "element which brings life", into Sub-Zero's ice-shield attack causes the water to freeze into an icicle that goes right through him. Later on, Shang Tsung meets his end when Liu Kang learns how to throw a fireball and blasts him off a ledge and into the Spikes of Doom below.
The protagonist of Nightbreed gets a sword through the back, pinning him to a card table. Being semi-undead, he removes the table and continues fighting with the sword still in place and a card stuck on it. He finally kills his enemy by hugging him, impaling him on the sword as well.
Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight: While Bartek is talking with Aniela at the lake they're waiting for Daniel to return, Bartek looks over and sees she's been impaled through the head from behind with a long thin object by one of the twin killers. The object comes out of her head through her mouth.
Patrick Troughton's priest character is transfixed and killed by a falling metal bar, knocked loose from a lightning-struck church, in The Omen (1976).
In The Phantom (1996), the Big Bad expresses his disappointment with an underling's lack of commitment by killing him with an African spear.
The Phantom of the Opera (1998): Happens to the stagehand Alfred after he gets caught by the Phantom, who hurls him on to a stalagmite.
In Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Sao Feng meets his end when a cannonball fired by the Flying Dutchman sends a large piece of wood through his chest.
In The Pit and the Pendulum (1991), Torquemada falls down the eponymous pit and is impaled on the multitude of spikes at the bottom.
In Predators, the RUF soldier sets off one of the Predators' booby traps and is impaled multiple times by spikes rising from the ground. Also, the Mexican drug cartel enforcer is shown to be impaled for bait to lure the other humans into an ambush.
In Prehistoric Women, Queen Kari kills the slave girl who stands up to her by impaling her on a roasting spit. Queen Kari later meets her fate with the white rhino's horn into her heart.
Hired killer Lyle in Red Rock West is mortally wounded when Michael pushes him on a bayonet held by soldier statue. But it's not what ultimately kills him.
Redwood Massacre Annihilation: The Redwood killer stabs one of his victims through the torso with a large curved blade, and leaves it in his body.
In Revenge (2017), Richard shoves Jen off a cliff, and she is impaled on a scrubby tree on the floor of the canyon. Unfortunately for him and his cronies, Jen turns out to be Not Quite Dead.
In The Rock, Darrow is blasted out of a window with an empty rocket by Stanley before falling onto a broken antenna.
Saving Private Ryan: The very disturbing death of Pvt. Stanley Mellish - being pinned down to the floor by a big Nazi soldier who very slowly pushes a knife down into his heart, up to the handle. To add to the Nightmare Fuel, it plays out like a rape scene between the victim's futile pleading and the German leaning in close enough to kiss him and whispering for him to stop struggling and let it happen.
In Shaun of the Dead, a zombie is shoved onto a wide pipe sticking up from the ground: when she extricates herself from it, we can see clear through her midsection (and what we see is the aghast heroes).
Silent Night (2012): The deaths of Bratty Girl (impaled on a fireplace poker), Goldie (impaled on a Sinister Scythe) and Tiffany (impaled on a set of antlers).
Slaughter in Xi'an has a Squick version; the sidekick getting killed by a metal rod in his rectum, which goes all the way into his guts. Eww.
In Sleepy Hollow (1999), Baltus van Tassel is impaled through the chest by a fence post attached to a rope that the Headless Horseman launches at him like a javelin, in order to pull him out of the church, which the Horseman cannot enter. Venom (2018): Riot stabs Eddie with one of his blades, leaving him to die. However, Venom re-bonds with him, saving his life.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage: Carnage uses his blade-tipped tentacles to inflict impalement on many people, stabbing Venom dozens of times during the final battle.
Sorority Row: Mrs Crenshaw manages to dodge the bladed lug wrench when it is thrown at her, and it buries itself in the wall behind her. When she moves to keep the killer in sight, she places he back against one of the spikes which is sticking out. Seeing this, the killer kicks the heavy kitchen table into her. This drives her back on to the spike, driving the spike through her so it come out her chest. She still manages to keep fighting.
Star Trek: Nemesis: The villain Praetor Shinzon gets impaled by a length of pipe and pulls himself along the bar towards the cornered Picard. It's extremely creepy if it's the first time you've seen this done.
Darth Maul kills Qui-Gon Jinn in The Phantom Menace by stunning him with a blow to the head before impaling him on one of the blades of his saberstaff.
Yoda is seen impaling a Clone Trooper of the 501st Legion by throwing his lightsaber into his chest.
In a deleted scene, this was how Shaak Ti was supposed to die (being impaled by General Grievous while Obi-Wan and Anakin are Forced to Watch) but her death was later retconned to occur in The Force Unleashed.
In The Force Awakens, Han Solo is murdered by Kylo Ren (his own son) in this manner. Ren later does this to a Praetorian Guard in The Last Jedi.
Everybody's favorite Sith Lord Darth Vader does this to a Rebel Soldier in Rogue One; his lightsaber also goes straight through door the rebel was trying to open.
Super 8: An in-universe example for the Show Within a Show movie the kids are making. A zombie character is defeated by being forced headfirst onto nails sticking out of the wall.
Tales of Halloween: "This Means War" ends with Boris and Dante both impaled on a broken wooden stake in Boris' front yard.
The T-1000's Shapeshifter Weapon allows for plenty of this in Terminator 2: Judgment Day, most notable when he stabs a security guard in the head with a finger grown into a metal spike, or when he impales John Connor's foster father disguised as his wife. He later uses an actual metal bar to impale and deactivate the T-800, but the cyborg returns through a back-up power system and comes back to finish its adversary off.
In Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, a disguised T-X is on the back seat of a police car. She puts her arm through the driver's seat and the cop driving it.
In Terminator Genisys, a lamppost is thrown at the T-3000, impaling him into a huge LCD screen. Given it interrupted some Evil Gloating, the T-800 even quips "John Connortalks too much".
Thirst (2015): Trapper is killed by the alien shoving its proboscic through his torso.
About halfway through Tragedy Girls, the mayor gets impaled... on a flagpole. Charming. Notably, this is one of the few murders that our Villain Protagonistsdidn't commit.
After coming Back from the Dead, Optimus does this to the Fallentwice. First, he runs the bad guy through with his own weapon. Then, after Optimus takes his face, he rams his fist through the Decepticon's back for the fatal blow.
Underworld: Evolution: Marcus impales Kraven to a wall with his wings while extracting information from him; he also fights Michael and seemingly kills him by shoving him onto a raised and sharpened piece of debris— Michael later heals from this; later, Seline rips one of Marcus's spiked wing pinions off and impales him through the head with it before shoving him into a helicopter's rotating blades.
Underworld: Rise of the Lycans: Lucian, after agreeing that Viktor should have killed him when he was born, impales Viktor through the mouth with his sword.
Violent Night has the first death caused by the Badass Santa being a guy falling on a phony icicle. And similar to the page image, one mercenary gets his chin impaled in a nail - and it's only the start of a convolutedBloody Hilarious death (that also includes falling on a mat full of nails!).
In the film version of The Virgin Suicides, one of the daughters is killed by landing on a picket, as in the book.
The Butcher from Wanted dies by being shot with a sharpening steel (Wesley even kicks it to ensure it really impales).
Warlock (1989): While Redferne is exploring an attic to see if the Warlock is hiding there, a nasty bat attacks him. He throws his knife at it, pinning it to the wall.
When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth has this happen to several members of Sanna's tribe, courtesy of an enraged Chasmosaurus.
The Widow (2020): One of the male rescuers is flung into the air above a tree, which he gets skewered on the top of and shoved through his torso as he slides down.
In The Woman Hunt, Magda trips Tony's 'bamboo whip' Booby Trap and wears a set of sharpened bamboo stakes through her stomach. She is so badly injured that Spyros performs a Mercy Kill on her.
While the Wolverine Claws are usually a slicing weapon, at times Logan uses them to impale. Victims include a non-fatal hit on Stryker in X2: X-Men United (where Wolverine is also on the receiving end, as Lady Deathstrike stabs him with her adamantium nails during their battle), the caretaker who is revealed to be his father inX-Men Origins: Wolverine, and both Shingen and Yashida in The Wolverine. The Bloodier and GorierLogan has many more stabbings with claws (often in the head).
The Sentinels stab quite a few people with their blade-arms — and this is by far the nicest way they kill people. Blink gets this fate twice, thanks to the Reset Button — and the second time, it's three times in succession! Storm also gets stabbed by a Sentinel in the climactic battle. Thankfully, the Cosmic Retcon later spares her life.
Wolverine is also hit with this in the climax when Magneto impales him with rebar before throwing him in a river to drown.
In the workplace safety short film Will You Be Here Tomorrow?, a worker falls from a ladder and gets skewered on a pole. In another safety video by the same company, a joyriding forklift driver fatally impales a fellow employee through the break room wall.
