It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

openDoes "No Straight Examples" apply to work pages?
If a trope's description says No Straight Examples, Please!, does that mean straight examples are banned from the trope's page, or straight examples are banned from both the trope's page and from any work pages?
Edited by BunnieopenPossible ban evader
Is there any chance that ladyofthelibrary is a sock of maedar? Here is their edit history.
Both do edit a lot, and both do use parabombing. In fact, when their Lady Jane Grey account was removing their own prabombing, they did so only via replacing the parentheses with commas.
They also added two completely spoiler-tagged examples to Insecticide (Page history); it has not been dealt with.
I've notified them on each of this other issues, but the only thing they've actually "fixed" was the edit on The Call at Night, and their edits to VerySpecialEpisode.Live Action TV and Tearjerker.Captain Underpants.
These are issues that maedar has had in the past.

While editing YMMV.Arrowverse, i found The Lawof Fan Jackassery. Is this supposed to have example? The actual page doesn't and this look like it could be flamebait
Edited by WhirlRXopenNo Title
I'm sorry to bother you, but some of Excelsior 123's recent edits concering the cancellation of Ready Jet Go! seem a bit... overly complaint. I'm particularly concerned about their edits to the YMMV page here
Again, sorry if this has already been delt with, but I figured it might need to be brought to your attention.
openTwo Pages With The Same Name
Hermaphrodite redirects to Intersex but I want to launch a trope called Intersex. What to do?
openTitle of a U.S political drama series Live Action TV
Very recent about a dysfunctional family with a wayward daughter, the patriarch is either a governor or presidential candidate up for election and surrounded by spin doctors who has skeletons in his closet related to a historical sex scandal. I think in the opening episode a body or artefact is uncovered linked to the historical scandal which places everything in jeopardy. The patriarch denies any wrong doing but there is more to him than meets the eye.
openProper capitalisation of SureAI
I created today a creator page for SureAI. Now the correct writing would be SureAI, all one word, but it's displayed instead separated. Is there a way to correct the title, so that when I write "Creator/SureAI", it's displayed as SureAI?
Edited by gc10openHandling issues in Just for Fun pages
I noticed the following entry in BetterThanItSounds.Anime And Manga P To S:
- The Pet Girl Of Sakurasou: Kindhearted Cat Lover receives a severely autistic girlfriend. Because autistic people are just like cats, right?
However, Better Than It Sounds is Just for Fun, and I understand JFF tropes tend to have more relaxed standards. But should this entry be cut despite?
Edited by SamCurtopenEsoteric Happy Ending edit war
godzillavkk has added this back to Esoteric Happy Ending three times:
- My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic ends with all creatures more unified than ever... but numerous fans didn't feel happy at all. The final episode reveals that 20 years have passed and most of the Mane Six have gone their separate ways, only seeing each other once a month for a brief meetup, which makes some fans feel like they barely even qualify as friends anymore. Also, Twilight has succeeded Celestia, and if Celestia was able to live for 10,000 years, this means that Twilight will outlive her friends and be cursed with immortality. The series-long theme of redemption and second chances was completely shattered with the final three villains (one of whom was a literal child whose mind was still developing) being subjected to a horrifically cruel Fate Worse than Death. Some land of friendship.
This was first deleted per cleanup, but they added it back without discussion or fixing the problems for which it was cut (It misses the point that their friendship remains despite rarely meeting now. They say Celestia is 10'000 when she only been stated as over 1'111 and they meet once a moon not month (moon=month has been refuted by Word of God and never shown in-work which has mentioned months), if they can't even get objective facts straight... The final villains happened the episode before the finale and is being contested here) was cut by another troper, than they added it back.
Is it even worth inviting them here to discuss this given they're apparently ignoring the reasons it's being removed? Or what? They need a tap either way?
Edited by Ferot_DreadnaughtopenCreating new pages, but don't know what catagory Web Original
I want to create a new pages for two really popular Team Fortress 2 Youtubers, Lazypurple and Soundsmith. At this point, they deserve their own pages due to the number of content and extremely hilarious videos they've posted that should be split from the Team Fortress 2 Funny page. The problem is, I don't know which catagory they would fall under. Would they fall under the "Web Video" catagory? "Youtube"? "Web Creator"? Or just "Creator"?
Edited by Falconpunch100openHelp creating an index for a Fan Rec page Anime
I created a fan rec page for Bungou Stray Dogs but it says it needs to be indexed. I understand that but when I attempted to add it alphabetically to the page, it kept appearing in red. Can you help me?
openAbout the "Xer and Yer" tropes
Y'know, like Darker and Edgier, Lighter and Softer, Hotter and Sexier, Denser and Wackier, etc.
Which one came first?
Also, I'd like to make a page for "Dark Parody" because Dark Fic only covers fanfiction and not, say, episodes of shows which parody works, but I'm worried that Darker and Edgier already covers that, but then again, it's theoretically only applying to a Tone Shift, so are the "Xer and Yer" tropes solely about Tone Shifts? Because I've seen them used for parodies, fanfiction, etc.
openEdit War on YMMV/TeenTitansGoVsTeenTitans
jessicadicicco610 added an example of Ear Worm to the YMMV page of Teen Titans Go! vs. Teen Titans, which I deleted on the basis of it being In-Universe Examples Only. I made sure to highlight this fact in my edit reason. Now she's added the same example again, only worded differently, and without any edit reason.
I sent her a PM, providing her with a link to the TRS where it had been decided to make the trope IUEO, explaining why she shouldn't list it in the YMMV page, and suggesting she either delete her entry or change it to a more appropriate trope.
She's made another edit since then, so it appears I'm being ignored. Can I delete the entry once more, or should I leave it as is?
Edited by TantaMontyopenShoehorning
I'm not entirely sure if Square Peg, Round Trope should be locked for others to edit, since there are more tropes not on the list that tend to get misused. I've seen plenty of examples of Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever (which is an inversion of The Incredible Shrinking Man, where a character grows bigger and has no way of returning to normal) being used for 1) creatures that are already gigantic to begin with, 2) characters that can change their size at will, which is Sizeshifter, and 3) normal sized characters playing around in a model city.
opentrying to make a "Awesome Music" section for Arjun: The Warrior Prince

openIndentation and Context and Natter (Oh My!)
Troper Tito Mosquito has had habitual problems, despite notifiers.
Their most recent edit is natter, they have poor indentation here and here, they've added ZCEs here, here, did slash-troping here...
Every example here was added after my most recent notifier (not counting the one I sent in making this report).
Edited by WarJay77
The word ‘check’. Specifically, I often see examples that act as though they are checking items off a list (X requirement? Check. Y requirement? Check. Z requirement? Check plus.), which ruins the readability of the example. Should this be added to the list of Word Cruft?
