openCreating a Page Literature
I'm new here to TV tropes and I'm wondering if I could make a page about one of my stories. I know I can't do the YMMV but I still want to see if I can make the page.
openyoucanthandlethishandle Literature
youcanthandlethishandle is deleted numerous examples on the character page for The Mortal Instruments without providing a valid edit reason, having attempted the same thing on the main page – including deleting Zero Context Examples rather than expanding them, as well as deleting a headscratcher.
Edited by Anddrixopen LunaRaven Literature
Lunar Raven has just today uncommented a bunch of Zero Context Examples on the ymmv and character pages for Divergent and the character page for The Maze Runner, as well as moving the spoilers so that they are covering the name of the tropes listed.

I'm a little confused as to what constitutes The 'Verse. Is it simply multiple works that share a universe? If an author writes 30 books and they are all in the same fictional universe, is it The 'Verse?

Paul A added a line some time ago to Vernor Vinge about Zones of Thought being a "series, which has three books so far".
I changed it to "trilogy" with the edit reason "...a three-book 'series' is a Trilogy," because, well, there are three books, and I'm not aware of any hard plans for a fourth book. There is a short story that takes place in the same universe and shares at least one character, but there are only three novels.
I went into the page to make an unrelated edit and noticed that PaulA had reverted my edit with the edit reason "The Zones of Thought series is not a trilogy, it's a series that doesn't have a fourth book *yet*."
Just looking for an outside opinion on the matter. I consulted the page for Trilogy and it didn't really tell me anything I don't already know.

I was surprised at how few tropes the Maze Runner series had, until I tried to add one myself and found out many more of them are there, just hidden, with this message at the top of the individual edit pages:
"Zero Context Example entries are NOT allowed on wiki pages. All such entries have been commented out. Add context to the entries before uncommenting them."
What's the point of this? I've never seen it on any other pages I read or edited. Some of the "commented out" tropes DO have examples, and even if they don't, sometimes it's not even necessary because you can tell that someone is an Action Girl without listing every single Action Girly thing she's ever done. Can this be removed?
Edited by TheMoonopenNo Title Literature
While obviously not necessary, is it appropriate to list the titles of individual novels of a novel series in that series's work page, hidden under a folder? This assumes the individual novels does not currently warrant separate work pages.

When giving examples, are we supposed to italicize work pages when the page is about a series of works, but the page title isn't a specific work? Like Literature.Harry Potter (about a bunch of books called Harry Potter and...) or Literature.Land Of Oz (about a bunch of books called ... of Oz).
Literature.Phules Company would not be an instance of this because the first book in the series is called Phule's Company.

Trivia is allowed on a work's main page if it's In-Universe. Does the opposite apply? I.e., a trope going on the Trivia tab if it's out of universe?
Specifically, from Earth's Children this is listed as a trope:
- Moral Guardians: Due to its unabashed sexuality, including Ayla being raped by Broud, the book has been frequently banned.

Penguin Factory deleted all the prices in the Vaporware page on April 17, 2015; that is, any number starting with a $ or followed by the word "dollars" were erased. I'm guessing that's some kind of cloud-to-butt type plugin rather than actual malice. Numbers which weren't prices were left intact.

In the short story "Singing My Sister Down" By Margo Lanagan, There is the idea of a person being kinda publicly executed in a tribal setting with their family there comforting them before they die. Is there a trope for this?? I couldn't find one because the genre of this story is "fantasy" Whereas I thought it was more of a romance/drama/mystery...

is there a trope for this?
so theres this character in the story, he's useful, intelligent, and relevant to the plot and then at the end... turns out the whole time he was actually a god. He does not pull any kind of Deus ex Machina. The only reason its even relevant is because of the role he plays later in the series. but it is still kind of a shock that he was actually a god the whole time. not sure how to trope this

When quoting a passage of a book containing multiple paragraphs, should one use two backslashes (\\) for a line break, or three (\\\) for a paragraph break? Text-Formatting Rules says to have blank lines separating paragraphs in general, but is nonspecific when it comes to quotes.
I'm thinking specifically of the quotes on Literature.Revenge Of The Sith. For Shatterpoint and Dark Rendezvous, I used the paragraph breaks, but they tend to add a lot of blank space to the examples list. The quotes on Sith don't have them, and I can't decide what looks better.

So there's a recent movie about it. There's currently a CGI TV series on the Western Animation namespace. I can see two possibilities:
- Slap it on the Film namespace, Film. The Little Prince
- Place it on the Western Animation namespace with a year, WesternAnimation. The Little Prince 2015
- Third/other options? Which would be best?

On The Pendragon Adventure in the list of the books in the description, six of the 10 are potholed to tropes. Is that kosher?

When listing a trope example found in poetry, should it go under the Literature folder, or should a separate Poetry folder be created?

Are series pages OK?
We currently have three John Cleaver novel entries, I Am Not a Serial Killer, Mr. Monster, and I Don't Want To Kill You, comprising the first trilogy. With the second trilogy having come out, it seems like it would make sense to have a page that collects common tropes and links to the individual novels. Is that alright? Would I put it at John Cleaver Series?
Creator.Robert A Heinlein had many of its intentional red links for stories currently without pages removed, and quotation marks around short story titles replaced by italics, in an edit on March 5th.
I've sent a PM to the editor in question to point out the issues, but I would like to ask for a reversal to the previous version of the page, given the extent of the changes made.
