Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.

Yeah, talking to them, while also linking to this query, seems to be a good idea.
Edited by TheGeekArtist08 artsy geek | any pronouns | "well, if you're hearing this, then chances are you've made a very poor career choice."Okay. I sent them a link to this query.
I see that my annoyance has bled into my edit reasons and into this query, and I got snippy. I apologize.
They still haven't come here, huh? Giving them a private message with a link to this thread.
"Unite GUN/BAZOOKA/LAUNCHER/TANK!"I sent them the link, and they answered me in PM three days ago; I replied only a few minutes ago, and I'm sorry about the delay. (In my defense, bad stuff happened to my family, so I was too frazzled and anxious to discuss things reasonably.)
And now, there's an edit war on YMMV.Tangled The Series over the Catharsis Factor entry I cited in the query.
^What did they say?
"Unite GUN/BAZOOKA/LAUNCHER/TANK!"They also commented out a trope entry over on the Pink Diamond page for Steven Universe. And they did it for no reason.
^^ They said the issue with our conflicting edits stemmed from the questionable writing in Tangled: The Series; they vented a bit about this and said nothing about the Laser-Guided Karma and Catharsis Factor entries in particular. In the reply I sent today, I agreed that the writing was indeed bad at some points and wrote a detailed description of the issues with these entries.
^Huh, that's weird. Did they say that they're coming here?
"Unite GUN/BAZOOKA/LAUNCHER/TANK!"^They didn't.
So, what should we do then? In my opinion, I don't think we should suspend them just yet.
"Unite GUN/BAZOOKA/LAUNCHER/TANK!"If its an Edit War and their not bothering to respond. Let the mods handle it
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I'm certainly not the one to decide if someone should be suspended :) I told them about edit-warring, too. As I said, I only replied to them today, and it took me days to write my message, because there was a lot to write and because of real life; maybe they're busy, too.
Edit War is there though. Tiny Little Letters added the entry a few days ago; yesterday, Clown-Face deleted it; today, Tiny Little Letters added it back, and Clown-Face deleted it again. Both wrote edit reasons but I guess that doesn't help. See for yourselves. Me, I believe the entry should go.
By the way, should I post my reasons here? I hoped for a public discussion, in part, because while I am certain both entries need to be cut, I'm not infallible.
Edit: added a link.
Edited by TenebrikaBump for mod attention
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I kind of want to see how they'll act if they come here...
"Unite GUN/BAZOOKA/LAUNCHER/TANK!"Sorry, I was busy. Yesterday, they replied to me that they didn't mind me modifying their edits and accepted the policy. (Is it okay to quote PMs?) I guess I'll go cut the Laser-Guided Karma entry, and Catharsis Factor one was deleted, hopefully, for good.
^Well, we both sent them the link, didn't we? And I'm still ashamed of myself for overusing Sarcasm Mode in the query X)
Edited by Tenebrika^ I think you have to paraphrase the PM, I don't think you can quote it wholesale.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.^ Thank you :) I edited my comment for that.
...and now, they changed Varian's Anti-Villain entry to Anti-Hero / Anti-Villain; the entry is about his reasons for pulling a Face–Heel Turn. And there's tropeslashing.
Edited by TenebrikaTrope slashing is not allowed.
Suspended Tiny Little Letters.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanP.S. They also, without Edit Reason, commented-out the following trope example on Characters.Tangled Villains :
- Small Role, Big Impact: She only appears in three (four if you include her cameo in "Plus Est en Vous"), but she's the one who brings an introduction to Frederic's less-than-stellar actions.
This example seems to have enough context, so there's no reason to comment it out. I sent Tiny Little Letters a PM asking for clarification but seeing they're now suspended (which I didn't know when I sent the PM), they can't reply.
Can I restore the above example (un-comment it) ?
"brings an introduction to Frederic's less-than-stellar actions" is less than ideal, phrasing-wise.
^^ Maybe add what those not stellar actions are?
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Can someone take a look at their edits on Elena of Avalor and Steven Universe in case there are similar issues? I'm not familiar with these works.
^^^Frankly, the entry looks iffy to me because I don't remember the character having that big an impact, and the entry doesn't describe it, but we probably need to take this discussion somewhere else.
Edited by TenebrikaI guess they got released because they're back at it:
- Here (I asked about this on the forum here.)
- Here (I wrote about this on the forum here.)
- Here, they restored another iffy entry I deleted. I PMd them and asked for details in case I missed something; they responded that their edit was based on what Varian said in the Season 1 finale. So, we only have his word for it, and he says it in the same episode where he blames everything on Rapunzel. So, maybe what he says about being denied help by other people is true, or maybe not; I think this is too uncertain to be an example.
- Another entry they wrote a few days ago on Characters.Tangled Cassandra was deleted by another troper; they added it right back.
- Here. This one is about a short episode where Rapunzel is subjected to a ton of physical comedy. That ice water was meant for her. By Eugene. Yet, according to this edit, Rapunzel is the jerk here. I deleted the entry as complaining; Tiny Little Letters added it back with this edit reason: "I know I said I wouldn't do the complaining anymore, but this WAS a very bad thing for her to do."
Edit: tweaks
Edited by TenebrikaWoah that was fast. Didn't they just get unbanned like a few days ago.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I think this would've been better as a separate ATT; makes it more obvious there's still a problem.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢I thought the general policy was to use the same thread?
Same issues same thread? Easier to get the gist of the issues at hand.
Have any notifiers or PMs been sent about the new edits? Looks or one was to discuss one entry, at least.
Edited by sgamer82^ You see, before their previous suspension, I wrote to them, and they agreed with what I said, then went on doing the same things until they got suspended. This time, to be honest, I'm floored by that edit reason I quoted above: now, they know the rules, and they admit to breaking them after they said they wouldn't. What can be said to this? ...Okay, I'll think about it, but first, I need to calm down X)
^ It's called passive resistance. You pretend to go along with what you're being told to do, apologize, and say whatever you need to say to get out of punishment, but then go ahead and keep doing what you want to do anyway.
Yeah, I doubt the poster has gotten the message given their subsequent behavior. Hopefully the powers that be can go back and scrutinize their subsequent contributions.
Either way, I sent ~Tiny Little Letters a complaining notifier with the url of this thread and a suggestion to come here and address the matter.
Not sure it isn't too little too late at this stage, regardless what they choose to do now is up to them.
Suspended again, they're done.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"So, what do I do with the complain-y entry? Can I delete it again, or will that count as edit-warring?
Edited by TenebrikaWell , seeing as it is agreed I think that it is incorrect addition then should be fine for removal no?
Just remove it and cite this thread as evidence
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I'm so sorry to drag this up again, but the complain-y entry was restored: after I deleted it and left a link to this query as an edit reason, Brisbane 1998 put it right back. Now I'm pretty sure I shouldn't touch it anymore.
Edited by TenebrikaYeah. I don’t know what Brisbane 1998’s problem is, but they shouldn’t be posting a threat as an edit reason. It would be good if the powers that be take at look here.
Are they by any chance Tiny Little Letters ban evading. They have very few edits and its really suspicious that one of them is to add an entry back word for word from someone who got banned
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Well, his problem is now going to be discussed in the ban appeals thread.
BTW, please don't attach such reports to reports about other tropers. More often than not it confuses.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanPermission to remove the entry ?
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."^ You have my support, miraculous.
"BTW, please don't attach such reports to reports about other tropers. More often than not it confuses." Okay, I understand :)
I second its removal, the reasoning is questionable and the threat is unwarranted.
Edited by TuvokBrisbane's "one more and you'll be blocked" is pretty ironic considering they're the one who is edit warring because they started the add-remove-re-add cycle.
- Fly, robin, fly! - ...I'm trying!I'm bumping up this thread, because it's become relevant again. For the last couple of weeks, a new troper named Unicornia1 has been editing many of the same pages in the same fandoms that TinyLittleLetters did, with the same opinions as them, around the same time of the day as them - and they've been doing this ever since their account was brand new. It could just be a coincidence, and normally, I would probably dismiss it as one, but lately, I’ve started to suspect that they might be the same person because they share the same bias when it comes to Varian and Frederic, where it’s very obvious that they love the former and hate the latter.
Over the last few weeks, they’ve been slowly downplaying or erasing tropes that paint Varian’s actions from early in the series in a negative light, while they’ve swung to the opposite extreme with Frederic, slowly erasing any and all positive tropes associated with him, to the point where they deny that he grew any in the series at all past Season 1, to make it easier to bash his character as much as possible. In fact, one of the very first edits that Unicornia 1 ever made was removing Varian from the Draco In Leather Pants trope and Frederic from the Ron The Death Eater trope on Tangled: The Series’ YMMV page in regards to how the fandom sometimes treats them - which are the exact same edits that Tiny Little Letters made early on during their time on this wiki. The same can be said for an edit Tiny Little Letters made to Frederic’s folder in September, which Tenebrika deleted in December, which Unicornia 1 then restored in February. So that sets off some red flags.
Besides Frederic and Varian, they’ve also expressed a lot of the same opinions about Rapunzel (1, 2, 3), Cassandra (1, 2, 3), and Arianna (1, 2, 3 4) that Tiny Little Letters did before they were banned.
Suggesting that someone is a sockpuppet is a pretty serious accusation, and one that I don’t make lightly, but there seems to be a lot of signs pointing towards that - so could an IP check be done just to make sure that isn’t the case?
Edited by TheCoolKat1995Might want to make a new thread. More visible.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI think a new thread is a good idea, since you're actually reporting a different troper who *may* be Letters ban-evading, but could be somebody else.
EDITED: Also, this thread is way too long as it is, and the risk is that the mods may think it has derailed and not prioritize reading it for that reason.
Edited by GnomeTitanYou both raised some pretty good points. I'll get on that.
Tiny Little Letters makes a lot of edits on Tangled: The Series pages. I deleted shoehorns here, here, here, here, and here— darn, I cut a lot; have I grown trigger-happy? I wrote an edit reason for each deletion though. But what I want to talk about is that I suspect this troper does Draco in Leather Pants.
- Laser-Guided Karma: Done en masse. Toward the end of Season 1, the people of Corona turned their backs on Varian and denied him when he begged them for help. Now, he's allied himself with the Saporians and has taken over the kingdom, with Corona's citizens being forced to mine crystals for Varian's chemicals so the Saporians can use them to their advantage.
When "the people of Corona turned their backs on Varian", there was a deadly magical blizzard threatening to destroy the kingdom while he needed someone to save his father from being Taken for Granite that he (Varian) accidentally caused, and no one was able to do anything about it. So, it's totally justified to take over the kingdom and force them to mine crystals.A few days ago, the same troper added this on YMMV.Tangled The Series:
- Catharsis Factor:
- After seeing them display disturbing Lack of Empathy towards his problems in the second half of Season 1, with King Frederic hunting down Varian for the Demanitus Scroll and chasing him out of his own home, and Rapunzel never checking on Varian after Zhan Tiri's blizzard was over (thus abandoning him for months on end), as well as expressing little-to-no concern for his well-being even when seeing Quirin encased in amber, Varian gloating in their faces over abducting Queen Arianna is quite satisfying, especially when he taunts Frederic to his face and puts Rapunzel through physical pain while using her hair as a drill. This also goes true for Varian, in his giant automaton, grabbing Arianna away from them, after they'd shared a warm and long hug right in front of him as he breaks down over failing to free his father.
I've addressed Rapunzel's actions in the above-mentioned post. Arianna offers Varian a chance to turn from villainy after he abducts her, and he rejects it; she's done nothing bad to him. It's absolutely cathartic to see a good woman being nearly crushed to her death. So, what to do about this? Maybe I should talk to this troper but I don't know how. "Even if you're grief-stricken, it's not nice to enslave and kill innocent people?"
