openImpossible task Literature
Hi i would like to know who wrote the article on the topic of Impossible Tasks link https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ImpossibleTask
openTropefying creator pages
I understand that we can tropefy the pages of creators as long as its talking about their work. For example, recurring tropes, recurring quotes, recurring themes, and so on. However, I'm seeing that for years, the page of Akira Toriyama has been more about the man personal quirks rather than the tropes he shows in his comics.
I'm sort of confused if I should clean up his page, as while talking about his real life quirks can give context on why he felt the need to write this or that the way he did, the page itself is just tropefying him, which shouldn't happen.
openRed Link bug with Video Example Upload
Yesterday I tried to upload a video example in Ignore the Fanservice. It gave me a database error twice and I just gave up, not thinking much of it.
Today I noticed all the "Media Source" links I gave for the video example look like Red Links now. The sources being: Catherine Zeta-Jones, Sean Connery, Entrapment.
They work just as intended if I click on them but they show up as red links. Not sure if it looks like that just to me or to everyone.
openZeldaQueen64...again
On February 14th, 2018, Tropers.Zelda Queen 64 added natter to NightmareFuel.Junji Ito. ([[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=NightmareFuel.JunjiIto&more=t Page History).
Specifically, they added this entry:
- When Mimi moves into the apartment next to the woman's, she finds a tiny hole the previous occupant had used to spy on the woman. When Mimi takes a look, she sees the woman adjusting her arm. Even worse, the woman hears Mimi gasping and extends her arm to reach through the hole to try to grab Mimi! When Mimi uses a bookcase to cover the hole and locks the door to protect herself, the woman goes outside and extends herself so that she can climb in the window to get at Mimi. Mimi faints shortly after and fortunately wakes up to find everything back to normal, but it's still terrifying to watch. Not to mention, while nothing actually does happen, the idea of being unconscious while such a terrifying being can get at you is plenty horrifying.
The info was later transferred to NightmareFuel.Mimis Ghost Stories, but the indentation remained the same. It also violates spoiler policy since Nightmare Fuel subpages are Spoilers Off.
I'm only just now reporting it because, up until literally today, I was unaware Zelda Queen 64 was active. Even then, their edit history only shows edits going to 2018 after restarting in 2017.
That said, back in 2016, this troper had already been notified of natter, had been suspended for it when they didn't stop, and promised not to do so again in the future.
openTroper with context problems
End Bringer 99 often does not add sufficient (or any) context when putting tropes on pages. Example:
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=Characters.TrueTail
- Added Large Ham with no context at all
- Added Attention Whore with minimal context
I've sent a context notifier in the past, but there's been no improvement since.
openSweeping changes without discussion
A troper just made some sweeping changes to how Warhammer: Age of Sigmar was organised without any prior discussion (and in the ensuing discussion, the change was called out for making no sense at all; see the discussion page for more context). Would it be acceptable to revert the page before a consensus could be made?
openZCEs
Stop me if you've heard this one before.
Troper can't context; specifically, The Best Troper In The World, history here. They've the tendency to just plop down trope names without anything added, which is a real bad sign considering they've been around since '16 and I've sent them a notifier recently that they've ignored to post this.
Other examples are here, here, and here.
I'd wait longer normally, but given their age, blatant ignorance of my PM, and fitting username...
open Sanders Sides Web Original
never mind, couldn't find it before, but I can now.
Edited by Alden2openWhat exactly is the difference between these two tropes?
Seems like one is the act itself and the other is the person performing it, but for the most part they reference the same scenes and seem to overlap a bit too much.
Edited by DarthWalrusopenDoes entries on indexes need context?
Earlier this year, all the entries on Ecchi that didn't have context were commented out.
I was under the belief that indexes don't require context for their entries. Am I mistaken?
For example, in Action Genre, none of those entries have context. Note: I believe Ecchi is also a genre, should that be a factor in determining whether context is required.
openthe reason you suck speech quotes
when i went to go edit on the said page, it gave a warning saying that the page is too long, is there a way i can separate the quotes?
openNo Title
Here's some of if the tropes page I made i wouldn't mind if some people help me with this page
Edited by Devilmansansopenboxxyquest: the gathering storm guide search Videogame
The title kind of says it all. I've been looking for a guide of that game, and the main page of the game mentions one, but I have not been able to find it no matter how much I looked.
I would appreciate if someone clarified this situation for me.
openWhat happened to the "Non-binary" TLP draft? [SOLVED]
There was a large draft about non-binary characters on TLP somewhere, with a large amount of bombs and replies but I can't find it. I was going to add a videogame example but can't find the draft. Was it bombed and if so, why?
I'm out of the loop and half-tempted to create my own draft but wanted to ask questions first before I attempt.
Edited by INeveropen What’s that kid’s show with the girls as fruits?
literally all I remember is this one episode where their town turned gray and they painted it with colors and the characters were 4 women who had the names of fruits and two had the nicknames blue and razz and I just remember Razz had pink hair and she dressed in a fuchsia color and and blue dressed in a light blue and I think she had black hair. I sound crazy lol but if you know the show plz help me find it
openEdit War Anime
The troper trainhobovegas is Edit War ring over and example on the The charater page for the rising of the shield hero.
This is despite the fact that Is this an example thread ? determined that it wasn't valid.
open Edit War on VideoGame.Borderlands3
Troper Discar has taken it upon himself to revert extensive cleanup on the VideoGame.Borderlands 3 page. That cleanup included, in the edit history, a link to explicit instructions from a moderator that Speculative Troping should be deleted.
Discar has shown a persistent pattern of obstructionist behavior toward cleanup of Speculative Troping. He apparently has no interest in helping with cleanup efforts by adding citations or context, which is fine, but he is quick to revert or otherwise obstruct others' cleanup efforts, which is not.
Edited by HighCrateopenGrammar and troping issues
CartoonEverything has several edits where they misspell, misuse grammar and formatting, and fail to namespace. Are they suspended already, or does this warrant a suspension?
Vacuous Sea Urchin has a history of inserting tropes on pages where they don't belong, troping real people, adding in unnecessary things, etc.
- Here they trope Jon M. Chu with Real Men Wear Pink. Troping real people isn't allowed, and Real Men Wear Pink isn't trivia.
- Here they add Tastes Like Diabetes into the main page for a film.
- Here they add The Cast Showoff, trivia, to the main page of a film.
- Here they add an entry to Fan Disservice, with the subpoint "Though if you’re one of those weirdos, this scene might still constitute as Fanservice if you’re sexually turned on by the navel ,abdominal play, and sexual torture." This has since been deleted.
