Going back to the question about Parental Incest - it’s clearly tagged to not have a pic and is on the “no pic” list at Administrivia.Image Pickin Special Cases so I doubt locking it is a pressing need.

Then why is Brother–Sister Incest locked to keep the page imageless? Is it because someone else tried to add an image beforehand?

Comic Books: Please group together Button Man and Judge Dredd as sub-bullets under 2000 AD at the top of the "Other" section.

On Monster.Live Action TVM To Z please change "Possessed" to "Possessed (2019)" and remove the "]]" in the second last sentence of the entry.

On ThatOneBoss.Pokemon, please change this line to remove the first person "I'm talking to you," and replace it with "The". Also remove the word "bloody". It's immature.

Per TRS, Petting-Zoo People has been merged with Beast Man and examples are supposed to be moved to Beast Man, Funny Animal, or Little Bit Beastly (mainly Beast Man, which it now redirects to per TRS consensus), and all of the remaining wicks are either ghost wicks or are on locked pages.

Edit: Also, the Petting Zoo Person redirect has a ghost wick that I don't know how to remove.

Yeah, I neglected to take that trope into account.

I think for the ghost wick, you just have to add a wick to the page and the ghost wick will go away.

Why is the character page for the Generation VIII Pokemon locked? I just realized that the way the franchise works, it's based around the characters themselves, and products are based on those characters. In addition, Pokemon Company has officially posted bios on the revealed Pokemon. Therefore, as soon as a Pokemon is shown, they'd be considered "released", able to be used in multiple intended products. At worst, the only thing tropers wouldn't be able to post about are things like exact stats in the exact works they appear in, or moves not specified in their official bios (especially as Gardevoir lost Fairy Wind between the Gen VI trailers and final releases). Any characteristics contrary to their bios would only be logically possessed by specific individuals of the species, not the species as a whole.

My point is because of the Pokemon series' titular characters not operating the same way as other works or brands, I strongly believe they should be granted a slight exception, and be unlocked with some provisos/some sort of warning at the top of the page ("Examples can be shown if the official bio verifies that information"). I also bring this up because a few officially revealed Gen VIII Pokemon from the last trailers (Yamper, Rolycoly, Duraduron and Alcremie- not Impidimp though, since he has no official bio yet) are not on the page in addition to the two revealed today (Obstagoon and Morpeko). In addition, I've noticed some information on the page is hidden, despite said tropes being verified by the official bios, of which are even on the page proper. There has to be some logic to this "speculative troping" policy, especially when it doesn't actually work.

These are all good points, but this is not the place you should bring them. That would be the Unreleased Work Page Cleanup thread, or maybe the Unreleased Work Policy Feedback thread.

To answer your question, however, the unreleased work policy considers official websites and the like to be Word of God, which can't be the sole basis for an example. The page was locked because people wouldn't stop adding the word of god only examples, in addition to not citing most of them.

By the way, I've made a sandbox for the characters page, which has all the Pokémon from the July trailer. A few days ago (aka a few posts upward), I requested that the characters page be swapped with the sandbox because it's more up to date, but that hasn't been done yet, and now Morpeko needs a character image.
