The Mask ymmv In General

  • Crazy Awesome: The general personality of Big Head in the comics, and of The Mask in both the film and the animated series are crazy and chaotic, but it is part of their charm.
Big Eater: Western Animation The Mask: The Mask eats lots of food at restaurants and fast food stands. How much of a big eater is he? He eats 40 pizzas in one gulp.

  • Hero with Bad Publicity: Zig-Zagged. The Mask is well-liked and loved by the public and the mayor, but not by most of the police department, especially Kellaway. Though there are some, like Doyle, who do like him. In one episode everyone hates the Mask because they think he robbed an orphanage. Knowing he's insane, the Mask decides that he probably did do it, so he lets himself be put in prison, but when he finds out that it was Pretorius, he escapes from prison.
  • The Mad Hatter: The Mask knows that he's genuinely insane, but he loves every second of it. He's also harmless, as the Mayor admits in one episode, and that he only causes harmless chaos shows that he is a lot more sane than he appears to be.

The Big Eater thing is Zero Context. That's not good.

(Also, good on your for reading the original comic book. Not many people do that.)

No, but once you get unsuspended you'll be able to fix that yourself.

Also, here's your next corrected bit:

The Mask eats lots of food at restaurants and fast food stands. How much of a big eater is he? He eats 40 pizzas in one gulp.

The part about the credit cards was Word Cruft.

(Also, you'll get unsuspended once your English is good enough not to need corrections—to answer your question.)

Oh, and here's a word of sincere warning: It'll help your case if you make sure to always use good English here, and not just in your trope edits. That kind of thing gives a good impression.

The Mask characters page

  • Big Eater: The Mask is a big fan of eating food from restaurants and fast food stands. Just how much of a big eater is he? He eats 40 pizzas all in one gulp.
  • Crazy-Prepared: In the animated series, Stanley gets himself more credit cards so that The Mask will have them to pay for anything he buys, knowing that he will max them out while using them.
  • Not So Above It All: Stanley is usually the one who has to keep reminding The Mask to stay on task and gets stress out by antics though he does get amused by The Mask giving Charlie a chicken suit.

Hero with Bad Publicity Film

''The Mask: The Mask and Stanley become fugitives from the law after The Mask robs the bank where Stanley works, and Kellaway finds a piece of Stanley's pajamas at the Coco Bongo after a piece of The Mask's tie gets shot off by one of Dorian's goons. But Stanley is a good-hearted, kind, nice man who goes after Dorian to stop his plan from blowing up the Coco Bongo and killing everyone in it, while The Mask despite being a gangster and committing some crimes like the one above, is the same as Stanley, as he also helps stop Dorian from blowing up the nightclub with everyone inside it by swallowing the bomb which then explodes inside him harmlessly.

The Mask: Zig Zagged The Mask is now loved and well-liked by the public and the mayor thanks to him becoming a superhero after the events of the film, though most of the police department do not like him especially Kellaway though, there are some who do like him such as Doyle. Because he knows that he is genuinely insane, The Mask starts to believe he did do it so he lets himself go to prison but he finds out that it was Pretorius who did it, not him so he exposes him as the one who did it and he gets back to being well-loved and liked again.

EDIT: For instance, you say that "though most of the police department especially Kellaway though," Most of the police department what?

Thanks Arivne, you and Michael have been a big help this past weekend.

@ Secret Santa (2007) A 2007 high school Christmas romance novel by Sabrina James, Secret Santa follows various students from different cliques trying to use the secret Santas they draw to pursue various crushes and goals. There is also a slight mystery element about who some of the secret Santas are. It is the first book in the North Ridge High series.

The book shares the same title as the Steve Hockensmith mystery-comedy short story.

Tropes:

  • Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder: Lily's boyfriend dumps her via email for a girl he met at camp.
  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: Popular girl Celia has a big crush on motorcycle-riding troublemaker Jake Morrissey.
  • Alpha Bitch: Amber is a Spoiled Brat whose fashion designer mother buys her anything she wants. She relishes flaunting what she has and insulting her classmates. Even her followers Celia and Shawna secretly dislike her for the most part.
  • Bully Hunter: When Charlie and Noelle were in elementary school, he stood up to a boy who hit her for using the monkey bars because she was a girl. This caused Noelle to fall madly in love with Charlie, even though she Cannot Spit It Out and he only dates older girls.
  • Got Volunteered: Celia got dragged into the local Girl Posse because Amber and Shawna were at a welcome party for her parents after they moved. The two thought Celia had the right fashion and popular culture tastes to join their group. By the time she realizes that she'd rather be friends with other people who Amber and Shawna look down on, she also realizes that leaving the group would make Amber see her as an enemy to crush.
  • High Heel Hurt: Shawna notes that while high-heeled boots "made her legs look great," they "weren't made for walking for hours."
  • Hollywood Nerd: Freddy "Froggy" Keenan and his friend David are constantly talking about science fiction and fantasy movies and aren't exactly handsome.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Amber dislikes Mindy Yee, saying she only tolerates her because she throws good parties and her parents are rich. Shawna thinks to herself that Mindy only tolerates Amber for the same reasons.
  • Secret Santa: The book is set around Christmas and follows several students, most of whom draw Secret Santas with some involvement with their crushes.

Well, today is one of those (thankfully rare) days were I've got an overabundance of tropes before the morning has even properly started, and I might hav to wait for tomorrow for anything else I think of today. It's an unusual feeling to actually hope to be bogged down in school work for the rest of the day on some level.

@ Secret Santa (2007)

  • Cat Fight: When Amber presents herself to Charlie as the Secret Santa who was sending him romantic gifts, his girlfriend Liz is not happy, leading to a food fight and wrestling match.
  • Gossipy Hens: Mindy Yee is constantly inquiring about new drama and spreading it across the school, although the third book reveals that this is because she's lonely and wants people to like her.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: When Freddy realizes his crush (and gift recipient) Celia likes Jake, he offers to trade Secret Santas with Jake so Celia will think he's the guy leaving her romantic gifts, feeling that will make her happy.
  • Love Dodecahedron: Simon is dating Amber (who is planning to dump him for Charlie, a Casanova currently dating Liz) and begins to fall in love with Connor's Secret Santa Lily based on her taste in gifts, only to start believing that Noelle is Connor's Secret Santa. Noelle is crazy about Charlie, not realizing that his brother Ryan loves her, with Noelle reciprocating once she does find out. Freddy likes Celia, who likes Jake. David would be happy to date anyone, but finds himself becoming closer with Shawna after her mother invites him to dinner when he helps her carry some bags home. Shawna eventually warms to David but still cares about her boyfriend Connor even as she wonders if they're drifting apart. Shawn's sister Chloe likes David.
  • Settle for Sibling:
    • Noelle eventually realizes her longtime crush Charlie's brother is the better match for her.
    • David bonding with Shawna doesn't amount to anything because she and her boyfriend Connor are still in love, but Shawna's sister Chloe turns out to like David, and he isn't complaining.
  • Shipper on Deck
    • Charlie tells Noelle she and his brother Ryan would be a good couple.
    • Jake advises Celia to go out with Freddy.

@ Dortmunder

  • Fiery Cover-Up: In Bad News, after a supposed missing heir to the casino he manages (and has been embezzling from) is granted access to the book by a judge, Frank tries to burn the books and claim someone stole them. He burns down the whole casino by mistake.

Foil

Western Animation The Mask: The Mask is usually the only mask persona who appears, but there are others who appear in only one episode, and they show similarities to The Mask. But they show differences as well.

  • The Mask and Masked Dr Neuman wear the same clothes, like a yellow coat and they both got the same red and black colour which The Mask uses for his tie, and Masked Dr Neuman uses for a bow tie, except The Mask's trousers are yellow and his shoes are black and white zoot shoes, while Masked Dr Neuman's shoes are sneakers and his trousers are blue. They show different sides of insanity. The Mask represents the better sides of it by being all wild, confident, love-crazy and harmless, while Masked Dr Neuman represents the worst side of it by being Ax-Crazy, delusional and dangerous. The Mask accepts he is insane, but Masked Dr Neuman denies it. The Mask tends to be a cartoonish and funny man, and Masked Dr Neuman tends to be The Comically Serious.
  • The Mask and Eve are both love-crazy but the difference is that The Mask tends to have a sense of personal space with the women, while Eve doesn't have that. The Mask tries to keep his unpredictable nature under control, while Eve doesn't.
  • The Mask and Masked Peggy Brandt are both egotistical, but The Mask keeps his ego under control, while Masked Peggy doesn't even try to. She tells Stanley, when his dog who is in danger that the dog’s need of rescue pales compared to her need for a makeover, though she does show that she is good-hearted like The Mask as she lets Stanley take her face off, so that his alter-ego can save their dog.

Film

Venom (2018):

  • Affably Evil: The Venom symbiote despite being violent, aggressive and taking control of Eddie's body at times, is friendly, reasonable, polite and capable of having empathy despite its sadistic nature, as it tells Eddie that this might be his last chance to make things up with Anne, after everything that's happened between them.
