Old Complete Monster cleanup thread

Welcome to the Complete Monster proposal thread! This is the thread where new Complete Monster examples are vetted, approved, and written up. If you're looking for the general cleanup thread (for cuts, rewrites, expansions, and the like), please go here

Important: Before suggesting any new examples, please read the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List; if you have any questions, the odds are high they are answered there. Additionally, please check here for the earliest date a work can be discussed (usually two weeks from the U.S. release date) and whether the work has already been reserved by another user.

Here is how the process works:

    Process

  1. If you have a candidate to propose, you can simply come right in and propose them! If the character's run is brief, such as a single issue of a comic book, then a simple summary of their actions and any potential redeeming qualities will be enough; for longer-running candidates, an effortpost (EP) might be helpful for organizing the proposal. An EP is not outright required, but please be mindful that if a post becomes too clunky and unorganized, it can be very hard for other people to follow.

  2. After the proposal, there will be a 72-hour discussion and voting period, where people may ask questions and vote on the candidate. The number of upvotes must outnumber the downvotes by at least five for the character to be considered "approved".

  3. Three days after the proposal has been made, if the character has been approved, you may post the writeup (the text to be posted on the trope page itself) on the thread and send it to the drafts page. Your candidate will soon be added to the CM subpage. If the work has a page, you should add your candidate to the relevant YMMV page. Voila! It's that simple!

Outside of this process, we do have a few ground rules:

    Ground Rules

  1. To keep the thread moving at a reasonable pace, there are some restrictions on when a proposal can be made. There should only be a maximum of four EPs posted both per page and per hour to ensure that nothing gets lost in the shuffle; additionally, each individual troper should only be proposing or writing up characters from a maximum of three works at a time (from initial proposals to end of their voting period). If your proposal would fall outside of either of these guidelines, we'd like to ask you to please wait until they would fit within; feel free to type them up on an outside document, and then when the time comes, you can just copy, paste, and post!

  2. No plagiarism of any kind. This is a very serious matter site-wide, as the website could get in actual legal trouble over this; as a result, this can very quickly lead to mod intervention. This can take many different forms:
    1. Direct plagiarism, i.e. wholesale copying. This is not only the easiest to find, but is also the most likely to warrant quick moderator intervention. To be clear, quoting in some places is perfectly acceptable, but it has to be very clear you're quoting from something else and it cannot be anything longer than a sentence or two - if you're quoting an entire work summary from Wikipedia, no one is going to believe you've actually consumed the work, so even if you cite your source, your candidate will be downvoted anyway.
    2. Self-plagiarism. Even if you can prove that you wrote the same text in both places, the site itself can't contain any of the duplicated text. If you already wrote something once before, it's not too hard to write it a second time.
    3. Using another site's work as a template for a proposal. Just because you don't copy and paste something directly doesn't mean it's any harder to detect if you're basing parts or all of your proposal on text someone else wrote. To be clear, this doesn't violate site rules and won't lead to mod intervention, but just like if you directly plagiarize, no one will believe you've consumed the work if you're clearly basing your proposal on something else. This thread largely operates on the honor system, and tweaking someone else's work to pass it off as your own is one of the fastest ways to lose trust.

  3. Votes must be for specific candidates, meaning no blanket voting (i.e. "yes to everyone I missed").

  4. If you are the first person to downvote a candidate, please provide an explanation of why when you do so. We're here for discussions above all, and a hit-and-run downvote doesn't facilitate anything.

  5. If a work is already reserved by another user, please don't comment on the work or any potential characters worth discussion before the discussion date. We know how exciting it is when a work has a keeper that you're waiting to talk about, but it's not fair to the person who reserved the work who is just as excited to lead the discussion to see the discussion getting spoiled before they get to do it. On the other hand, if the reservation only has one name attached, shoot them a PM - they may be down for a collaboration, which will get you in on the fun as well!

  6. Please keep the thread on-topic. While discussing the trope is fun and we encourage people to enjoy it, questions like "who's your favorite CM" are off-topic and can lead to thumps. That's the kind of question to take to people's PMs if they're willing. Similarly, while we encourage friendliness and familiarity with other users, posts should always have some kind of thread-relevant purpose; for instance, if you want to wish someone a happy birthday, feel free to, but if it's the only thing in the post, it's off-topic and needs something else alongside it. Again, though, while we strive for a friendly atmosphere, this is not Facebook; life updates are fun, but unless they have some kind of impact on your thread participation, please do not bring it here - we have Yack Fest for that.

  7. Please refrain from asking anything along the lines of "How Did We Miss This One?" In almost every case, the answer is simply "No one thought about it before". This Is a Wiki where everyone has different interests, and the fact that people missed a particular candidate, even one that seems like a textbook example of a trope or a character who is particularly iconic in pop culture, means absolutely nothing. The question is disruptive, has a simple and consistent answer, and provides nothing to any discussion.

  8. If you are suspended from parts of the website, it is still possible to participate!
    1. For users who are suspended from editing the wiki, you still have full access to this thread. You can propose candidates and write them up with no issues whatsoever; while you will have to ask someone else to post the entry to the relevant pages once it is done, all write-ups are considered thread-approved - as in, done by consensus - and thus doing so does not violate any rules regarding meatpuppeting.
    2. If you are suspended from the forums, your participation is limited but not impossible. It is still possible for a forum-suspended user to assist in creating the write-up for a character who has already been approved; as previously mentioned, write-ups are inherently considered a consensus-based edit and thus not tied to any one particular user. However, you can not assist in the proposal of a character; as a proposal is based around the forum rather than the wiki, doing so with a forum suspension qualifies as meatpuppeting.

  9. Please keep all discussions "in-house".
    1. What other wikis use for CM equivalents is irrelevant here.
    2. Please be wary of using other wikis, Fandom or otherwise, as sources of information. They are just as fallible as a site like Wikipedia in regards to accuracy because they can be edited by any user, just as this site can.
    3. Do not attempt to force a communication with an author in an attempt to gather evidence or settle a debate; besides the fact that this is a YMMV trope and thus author intent has variable weight depending on the circumstance, doing so may cross the line into drama exportation, which is prohibited site-wide.

If you would like to use an EP for your candidate, here's the general format. This format does not have to be followed exactly, but these are the main topics that need to be covered:

    Effortpost Template

What is the work?

This is a brief summary of the work you're going to discuss. We don't need a full plot summary here, just however much we need to understand going into the discussion — it can even be as simple as quoting the summary on the work's page.

Who is the candidate and what have they done?

This is essentially the character's biography — who they are, their story, the crimes they commit, and, preferably (though not required), what happens to the candidate at the end. It does not have to include every single thing they ever do — for some villains, we'd be here all day if that was the case — but it should include the highlights of their journey.

Any redeeming qualities? Freudian Excuse?

This is where any potential redeeming characteristics or tragic backstory should be discussed. Do they have a tragic past? Do they show that Even Evil Has Standards or Even Evil Has Loved Ones? Maybe a Pet the Dog moment or two? This is where these should be discussed in full. Not every potential redeeming moment is a clear-cut disqualifier, but we should hear of any potential issues to ensure the character is discussed in full.

Are they bad enough?

A Complete Monster has to be particularly vile by the standard of the work they appear in. Therefore, you should look at what the character does compared to similar characters in the same work. This takes into account things like:

  • Their resource level (a human Serial Killer can't stand up to an alien Omnicidal Maniac, but they can be bad by the standard of other human serial killers)
  • The amount of time they have to work with (such as a one-shot character versus long-running antagonists)
  • The quantity vs. quality of their crimes compared to others (someone with a lower victim count but far more visceral and personal crimes could be considered as equally bad overall as someone with a higher body count but less horror involved)

Essentially, this section is an analysis of the kinds of villainy shown in the work and an explanation of why this particular character's villainy stands out within it.

Final verdict?

This is where you post your final conclusion on the character in question. You can continue elaborating on your reasons or even just say a simple "yes" or "no"; at this point, we've heard everything we need to hear.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: This thread tackles very serious and dark matters on a daily basis. We will be discussing things like murder, rape, torture, human trafficking, crimes against children, and in particularly dark cases, several of these issues at the same time. We keep a lighthearted air, but all candidates carry the general assumption that these are awful individuals committing disgusting crimes. We ask that if you participate, you do so with the requisite seriousness such dark topics require; exclamations of how gross something is, whether serious or sarcastic, are disrespectful to the topics at hand, and if you cannot handle such topics, please do not participate.

And that's everything you need to know. Welcome to the thread!

Following up my good friend:

Who is Desmond Rutaranga? What has he done?

A philosophical mercenary captain who ironically reads anti-capitalist thinkers whilst enforcing Wong's rule with his men, Rutaranga ensures Shambala Float is kept in the thrall of his partner's military dictatorship for profit. Dispatched to attack the country's rebels, he slaughters them and boasts to a captive Akane that the country's chairman is dead and he and Wong are able to control Shambala Float as they wish (The writing's not the greatest).

Akane realizes the Sibyl System installed in Shambala Float has been tampered with and that Wong and his men are all latent criminals. Rutaranga delivers her and Kogami to be publicly executed by Wong but the Japanese bureau's Division One backup arrives and a fight breaks out, killing Wong. Meanwhile Rutaranga escapes, hoping to corrupt Kogami into joining his mercenaries and initially beats him down in a fight but a Division One enforcer shows up to help Kogami and the two kill Rutaranga.

Heinousness?

It's dark but he's Wong's de facto equal in their scheme to control Shambala Float by military dictatorship and the countless bodies piled to make it are equally on his shoulders. On top of that, he's a money-hungry killer and we see his strike team attacking the rebels trying to free the place, taking glee in informing Akane about the lie holding up the new government.

Mitigating factors?

He pulls Kogami out from a sliding door about to crush him during their fight but the guy's a Blood Knight hoping to get a strong opponent to become a merc for his squad. Rutaranga's defined by his greed and hypocrisy under the veneer of friendliness and there's no genuine care for Kogami, who he'd also happily let Wong execute.

Verdict?

Yes.

Ok now the other CM from G Generation DS

Who is He?

Muruta Azrael is the leader of the rabidly anti-Coordinator group "Blue Cosmos", seeking to kill off all Coordinators. He aligns with the Titans and OZ during the Gryps conflict/Bloody Valentine War to achieve this goal. Through as the bonus route reveals, neither of the abovementioned two groups are really happy about this....

What does he do?

If this is the Special Mode/Second Playthrough, and the player chooses to follow the Axis storyline over the Delaz Fleet storyline(which is an option that's only available to players during their second playthrough if certain conditions are met) he gets an Early-Bird Cameo in a cutscene where he supports Jamitov's efforts to snuff out Zeon remnants in Axis when Earth Federation politicians complain that the attempts by the newly formed Titans to hunt down Axis are wasting the budget.

In the UC route, he just pops up regardless of playthrough to assist Scirocco in the final battle between the Titans and the AEUG and dosen't do anything really except be a figurative Giant Space Flea from Nowhere(likely to tie up some loose ends I think since the SEED plotline is covered by both routes even through the Archangel Crew is AU-route only). In the AU route however, we see just how bad he really is...

Apart from his canon crimes of trying to nuke all the Coordinators from existence, creating the Extended, and shooting Natarle in a fit of rage in his final moments, the game adds some extra crimes to his belt such as invading the Sanc kingdom with Mobile Dolls to ensure that the entire world is conquered by a Blue Cosmos controlled Federation.

However, it is the postgame campaign for the AU route that would REALLY highlight how bad he is. While the first two postgame missions are based on the Endless Waltz OVAs/Movie, except with only Heero and Zechs present(all of the Wing pilots got Adapted Out, so Dekim has no Altron Gundam and a Face–Heel Turn Wufei to back him up there), the third stage of the Postgame campaign has a interesting twist.

Remember when I mentioned Azrael's "final moments"? Well that really isn't the case here. Developments in the third stage of the postgame campaign reveal him to be this setting's equivalent to Ulube Ishikawa. Using the knowledge of the Black History, Azrael knows about his fate, taking precautions to avoid it. It is revealed that Blue Cosmos kidnapped Rain Mikamura and obtained the research about the DG cells. This results in Azrael injecting himself with DG cells and the regenerative abilities of said cells allowing him to survive getting obliterated by the Archangel. He would turn Rain into the core life unit of the Devil Gundam and drop the Devil Gundam into Neo Japan, absorbing it into the Devil Gundam. When the protagonists investigate, they find out what Azrael has done. At that moment Azrael vows to use the Devil Gundam for revenge against the Three Ships Alliance for ruining his plans. Despite amassing a formidable army of Death Army, Devil Gundams, Azrael is killed off once and for all while Rain is freed as per G Gundam finale by Domon's Love Confession.

In the Rival route/Bonus route, the protagonists get captured by the Federation after the overthrow of Gihren and forced to fight for the Titans...or rather what is left of them as it is implied that the AEUG and the Three Ships Alliance succeed at killing Scirocco(and defeating Axis as well), leaving only OZ, Blue Cosmos, and a rump Titans led by Jerid Messa and Mouar Pharoh as far as Earth-based antagionists go. After a mission fighting the various Gundam pilots, the Titans-OZ-Blue Cosmos alliance capture Flay Allster and get the means to cancel ZAFT's N-Jammers from the data disk carried by Flay. After this, Azrael and the Dominion leave the battlefield despite Jerid wanting to settle things with the AEUG, seeking to put their plans to nuke the ZAFT colonies into motion.

However, after the start of the Federation invasion of ZAFT and the defeat of both ZAFT forces and Moonrace forces trying to stop the escalation of the conflict, OZ gets word of Azrael's plans and rebels. Azrael vows to kill Treize and Lady Une for this and ambushes them during a fight with both Rau and the Death Army. This action however, also pisses off Cima and the Titans remnants, with Jerid and Mouar being disgusted at Azraels plans and defecting to Treize's side along with the Zeon protagonists. Despite utilizing a massive army of Mobile Dolls, Devil Gundam, Death Army, Cyber Newtypes, the Extended Trios from both SEED and Destiny, and Blue Cosmos loyalists within the Titans in both this and the next stage, Azrael and Blue Cosmos fall to the combined might of the Titans and OZ teamed up with the various Gundam heroes.

Redeeming Qualities

Apart from not having his Evil Is Petty motivations that was created to make him even more despicable in canon, none for Azrael since he remains a remorseless genocidal hatemonger even without that motivation.

It really says a lot that the remnants of the Titans, a group that tends to be overly flanderized and commonly seen without considering some context as purely mustache twirling cartoon villains(albeit not without reason by the fanbase) compared to the more nuanced Zeon by the Gundam fanbase are disgusted by his actions in the Rival route(granted through the Titans are much less evil in this game despite Bask trying to nuke Axis in the Axis route due to a combination of the Compressed Adaptation omitting the vast majority of their crimes apart from the nuke plot and the Cyber Newtypes and Scirocco launching his coup against Jamitovnote  and Bask much earlier than canon, leading to a much less genocidal Titans organization as a whole since Scirocco isn't really a fan of gassing colonies en masse).

Heinousness Standard?

Azrael is barely a presence in the UC route except as a Giant Space Flea from Nowhere boss, so we will be looking into the routes where he has a presence. Now if we only take into account and the Rival Route and the AU campaign before the postgame, I'd say Azrael barely misses the mark. While he commits the same crimes as in canon with the added "bonus" of invading the Sanc Kingdom, the "No 1:1 characters rule" isn't really a thing anymore and being identical to canon isn't a disqualifier anymore. The real issue is moreso heinousness, as Azrael has arguably the same resources as Gihren, but Gihren both does many of the same deeds and has far more reaching goals of destroying all of humanity except the very select few he deems to be worthy to live rather than just Coordinators on top of already having wiped out half of humanity. Even with the extra characterization of "being so evil that the Titans are pissed at him", it more indicates that the character is a extremely vile Hate Sink by itself when the heinous standard is considered.

However when taking into account the Postgame Content? I'd say weaponizing Devil Gundam cells to avoid his own death, infecting a Space colony with Devil Gundam Cells, and trying to use the Devil Gundam as a instrument of revenge against both the protagionists and the Coordinators, while not caring about the impact of this on the Earth Sphere as large is unique enough for this game for Gihren's more wide reaching plans to not be an issue here and pushes him over the edge.

Verdict

I'd say [tup], while barely missing the mark if we go by the main AU campaign and the Rival Route itself, I feel his actions in the AU postgame campaign does make his brand of awfulness unique enough to stand out on its' own right.

What is the work?

Skullgirls is a 2012 indie Panty Fighter starring a mostly-female cast of characters who are clashing over the Skull Heart, a sentient artifact that can grant any wish so long as the person who makes it is female. The game received two updated rereleases, Encore and 2nd Encore, a slew of DLC characters, and a spinoff mobile game called Skullgirls Mobile that details some of the cast's backstories, and a spinoff webcomic set just before the events of the game.

Who is the candidate and what have they done?

    Bit of a long read...
Lorenzo Medici is The Don of the Medici Organization, a crime syndicate based out of New Meridian in the Canopy Kingdom. Maintaining his youth through the supernatural rejuvenating powers of the Life Gem, Lorenzo rules the city's criminal with an iron fist while maintaining a sterling public reputation to bolster his rivalry with the royal family. While he had possession of the Life Gem, Lorenzo was invulnerable enough to fight a Skullgirl and emerge unscathed, but losing the Life Gem weakened him to the extent that he spends most of his time holed up in Medici Tower, delegating the dirty work to his son Vitale, his bodyguard Black Dahlia, and the army of criminals (including the group of slavers who abducted Marie and Patricia) and corrupt cops at his beck and call.

Sixteen years prior, Lorenzo established an underground casino that beat cop Ben Birdland attempted to shut down, only to be beaten almost to death by his own commanding officer Sarge and the other members of his unit. When Ben returned as the cyborg Big Band and became a vigilante fighting to take down the Medici Mafia, Lorenzo coldly informed Sarge he'd outlived his usefulness and had him executed before deciding to take the gambling business legit via the River King Casino to circumvent Big Band's meddling.

Fourteen years prior to the events of the game, Lorenzo learned from Double that the Contiello family—longtime allies of the Medici Mafia—had come into possession of the Skull Heart (courtesy of Double, again) and sent Black Dahlia to obtain it and kill them all—including the fourteen-year-old Sienna (aka Squigly). This led to Selene Contiello making a wish on the Skull Heart to get her family back, becoming the Skullgirl and attacking Medici Tower. While Sienna was able to resist being controlled due to her bond to the Parasite Leviathan and helped defeat her own mother, after she returned to death Lorenzo personally sewed her mouth shut as a symbol of coming out of the conflict unscathed while the Contiellos were—literally and figuratively—silenced, using their deaths to send a message to others about what happens to those who cross him.

Shortly before the events of the game, Lorenzo met with Princess Parasoul when she came to accuse the Medici of being complicit in human trafficking and arrest him, only for him to smugly rub it in her face that he's untouchable and threaten to sue the royal family for slander (the New Meridian justice department being in the Medicis' pocket)... or just have Black Dahlia kill her. While enjoying watching Cerebella and Parasoul fight, the new Skullgirl Marie shows up to get revenge on the Medici family for the suffering they've inflicted... only for Lorenzo to laugh off being immolated due to the Life Gem making him immortal. Shortly afterwards the Fishbone Gang rob him blind and steal the Life Gem, Lorenzo ordering Black Dahlia to get it back at all costs. Unfortunately, Nadia Fortune accidentally swallowed it, so Black Dahlia brutally killed them all and returned empty-handed, leaving Lorenzo obsessed with finding a way to get it back at any cost once it reanimated Nadia.

Due to rapidly aging into a very old man and teetering on the brink of death, Lorenzo isn't very active in Skullgirls' story modes—though he does cameo as a background character in the Medici Tower stage. He appears at the end of Peacock's story mode screaming for Black Dahlia to save him when Patricia breaches his office determined to finish what Marie started, and (kinda) appears in Squigly's and Big Band's story modes attempting to flee New Meridian when Marie declares war on his criminal empire for the countless victims it's left in its wake (several of Marie's minions including dead mobsters)... only to be killed when Marie lobs the top half of Medici Tower at his airship.

In Ms. Fortune's story mode, several Medici thugs are shown abducting the River King's daughters and other Dagonian women on Lorenzo's orders, though why is never revealed.

In Eliza's story mode, Lorenzo screams at Eliza to hunt Ms. Fortune down and bring him her heart (the Life Gem) or he'll tear out her skeleton... only to ultimately be reduced to cowering in terror when she transforms into a skyscraper-sized bipedal lioness made of theonite-infused blood and sets out to conquer the Earth.

In Black Dahlia's story mode, Lorenzo appears mid-evacuation raging at being forced to flee his city. With a bit of goading from Black Dahlia, he orders her to capture Ms. Fortune to get the Life Gem back (wanting to personally torture her to death once his health is restored), kill Marie to stop her crusade against the Medici mob, and kill everyone who dared to defy him no matter the collateral damage to his "beloved" city; dismissing his son Vitale as a pathetic vulture unfit to inherit his criminal empire should he perish. When Dahlia succeeds, Lorenzo congratulates her and asks if she had fun painting the city red with the blood of his enemies, then declares his intent to usurp the throne of the Canopy Kingdom and maybe even conquer the world. However, when Lorenzo shouts at her for not immediately giving him the Skull Heart—which has been trying to tempt her into wishing on it—when ordered, Dahlia unceremoniously kills him for interrupting her when she's thinking.

Any redeeming qualities? Freudian Excuse?

Nope. In the webcomic, it's exposited that the Medici family goes out of its way to maintain a sterling public reputation and are seen as the saviours of New Meridian, being staunchly opposed to the fascist-coded Renoir regime. However, this is all a Faux Affably Evil smokescreen and in truth Lorenzo is a vain, sadistic, and power-hungry mobster who would revel in the opportunity to start a civil war with the government while painting them as the aggressors, wanting the Skull Heart for himself. While he claims to care about New Meridian, the mask of affability comes off when he loses the Life Gem and in the webcomic he even threatens his own son Vitale unless he gets it back. Black Dahlia's story mode has him declare he doesn't care if the city is destroyed so long as he gets revenge on those who he feels have wronged him and its inhabitants remember why they should live in fear of him.

Are they bad enough?

Lorenzo is mostly a background character in the game, but plays a larger role in the webcomic and most of the pain and suffering in the games that doesn't trace back to the Skull Heart and Double or the Anti-Skullgirl Labs can be traced back to him, and even then there's a bit of overlap. The webcomic has him indulge in a few humorous scenes, like singing in the shower, but nothing that takes away from how dangerous or despicable he is, especially when he's angry. As for the other antagonists:

  1. Brain Drain is the head of Lab 0 and the one responsible for Carol being turned into Painwheel, as well as the creation of Robo-Fortune. However, while a sadistic SOB, Brain Drain is presented as more of a blustering blowhard than a genuine threat, only really being taken seriously in Painwheel's story mode due to the grip he has on her.

  2. Black Dahlia is a mass-murdering cyborg supersoldier turned hitwoman, but works as Lorenzo's bodyguard and he keeps a tight leash on her, only cutting her loose on rare occasions—such as to wipe out the Contiellos.

  3. The Divine Trinity—Venus, Aeon, and their mother (whose name is implied to be Lamia, and who may or may not have been the same person as the ancient queen of the same name that Eliza served)—are a trio of goddesses who created Double and the Skull Heart, sending them forth to corrupt mortals and cause chaos and destruction. It's implied in Eliza's story mode that they were once mortals but were killed by Neferu millennia ago. While they only directly appear as stained glass murals in Double's church and in a meta joke ending showing them playing the Skullgirls video-game, Black Dahlia's ending reveals their endgame with the Skull Heart is to unleash a horde of eldritch horrors upon the world, and then descend upon it.

  4. Double is a shapeshifting Eldritch Abomination that serves the Divine Trinity, delivering the Skull Heart to prospective hosts (Selene Contiello and Marie, for instance) and pulling the strings to get them to make a wish on it in the hopes of enabling her masters to launch an incursion into the universe and destroy the world. She's implied to be one-and-the-same as the Queen Lamia who Eliza once served.

  5. Eliza is a diva and nightclub owner bonded mind and body to a vampiric Parasite called Sekhmet, which serves as her skeleton. She was once a general called Neferu under Queen Lamia, though she later rebelled and killed Venus and Aeon (it's implied in Eliza's story mode that these are the same Venus and Aeon who make up the Holy Trinity)—earning herself the moniker of the Crimson Scourge and almost bringing about the end of the world. She has a massive body-count and occasionally does jobs for Lorenzo, though she harbors some twisted affection for Samson. In her story mode she decides to conquer the Earth and reduce humanity to being chattle for the Theons (the original proper name for Parasites).

  6. Marie is the current Skullgirl but is an Anti-Villain who wants to take down the Medici Mafia.

  7. Painwheel was forcibly converted into a cyborg supersoldier and forced to obey Brain Drain's commands.

  8. The Skull Heart is a Jerkass Genie created by the Divine Trinity (implicitly from Queen Lamia's heart) to grant wishes transform women into a lich called the Skullgirl, corrupting them into an Undead Abomination that will bring about the end of the world and/or provide a means for them to launch an incursion into the world.

  9. Valentine is a combat medic and sole surviving member of ASG Lab 7's black ops unit, the Last Hope. After Marie killed her squadmates, Valentine offered to serve her as a double-agent and spy at the Anti-Skullgirl Labs, where she had a hand in converting Carol into Painwheel.

  10. Vitale Medici is Lorenzo's eldest son and a "Well Done, Son" Guy who serves as Lorenzo's mouthpiece due to his illness. He runs the Cirque Des Cartes as a training ground for potential hitmen, and is Cerebella's boss. Assuming his brother Marcus (Filia's father) and his family are traitors due to Marie sparing them, he kills them in cold blood with Filia only surviving due to Samson bonding to her. He manipulates Cerebella's feelings for him in order to get her to go after Ms. Fortune to claim the Life Gem. In Black Dahlia's story mode, he allies with Eliza to double-cross his father—intending to claim the Life Gem and Skull Heart for himself—but is killed by Black Dahlia.

Final verdict?

IIRC he was initially downvoted due to being a background character whose crimes were relegated offscreen, but since he directly appears in the spinoffs and releases I think there might be enough there for a [tup].

Sure to Muruta, though what exactly IS the Devil Gundam?

Also, before or after Gihren?

I guess sure to Lorenzo.

They'd go after Gihren. And Gihren would be spoilered out on the YMMV page for SD Gundam G Generation.

Ex, we're discouraged from musing about the trope in general if we're not moving the thread forward with votes, effort posts or relevant queries. We've had a lot of off topic and you've been asked before so please bear that in mind when posting. Yes to Azrael.

[down] Might wanna wait to add your thoughts in when you've come up with an opinion then, as is it feels a bit like a stream of consciousness.

[up] I still had to read the re-ligitated candidate entries in-detail, I just woke up.

Although I'll probably give a [tup] to Lorenzo if the only concern is "this guy is a background character". Wonder why does it take this long for Skullgirls to have a CM yet. Thought that something like Eliza and Double would be out there already.

Just a friendly reminder about rule #7:

Please refrain from asking anything along the lines of "How Did We Miss This One?" In almost every case, the answer is simply "No one thought about it before". This Is a Wiki where everyone has different interests, and the fact that people missed a particular candidate, even one that seems like a textbook example of a trope or a character who is particularly iconic in pop culture, means absolutely nothing. The question is disruptive, has a simple and consistent answer, and provides nothing to any discussion.

[up][up][up] I don't think Eliza or Double count. As horrible as they are, Eliza/Sekhmet is in love with Samson and wants him to join her in her conquest of the world, while Double and the Skull Heart freak out at the sight of Eliza and swear revenge against her for killing Queen Lamia's daughters.

Alright so, this is probably gonna be my last song candidate for a bit, or at least one regarding this character, as the last EP I did, people seemed to take issue with the character I proposed and I'm not aiming to stir drama, but I do believe this candidate has a chance so I at least want to get this out before my break.

What is the work?

"LET ME OUT" is a Five Nights at Freddy's fan-song created by the collaborative effort of Dawko and APAngryPiggy, it revolves around Glitchtrap and one of the followers he managed to brainwash into doing his bidding, and more specifically his goals to breach the digital space through him, causing him to go through agonizing mental torment in the process, all with the goal of erasing his soul at the end and "spreading his gift" to others.

Who is Glitchtrap? What has he done?

Glichtrap is a malicious virus who is strongly implied to be the reincarnation of everyone's favorite (or least favorite) serial killer, William Afton. Managing to escape his firey death and becoming a piece of malware yearning for release, he takes control of the OP and has them fulfill tasks for him while he endlessly begs to be released, with Glichtrap's ultimate intention being to erase his soul and take full control over him to "spread his gift" to other unsuspecting souls, all so he can one day escape into the real world and wreak havoc once more.

Mitigating Qualities?

Nah. Sure he's a soul trapped inside a computer, but not only is this not played for sympathy, but he's also implied, if not straight up confirmed to be some form of William Afton, so the dude kinda had it coming, plus he only wants to escape so he can continue doing evil shit.

I could see plot being an issue, but this song does follow a narrative structure and involves multiple Points of View, not just Glitchtrap, being about a dude being corrupted by him into doing his bidding and desperately trying to leave and warn others of his presence, so it's not like it's just about Gltichtrap singing about how evil he is.

Morality wise he is fine as well, he straight up calls himself a monster at points in the video, so it's clear he understands his own evil and revels in it.

Oh and for those who are worried about him being different enough. Canon Glitchtrap is all but confirmed to not actually be William, but rather the Mimic, while this version of Glitchtrap is pretty highly implied to be the real deal, if this line doesn't confirm it.

"I was trapped inside, burned alive. Though in this code now I reside!"

So yeah, considering that, you could argue he is different enough.

Heinous Standard?

Admittedly this is where I paused, as while he is implied to be Afton, the whole child murder thing isn't really brought up here. That said I feel his corruption of the OP's mind is bad enough as it's shown to be downright torturous with how he continuously begs to be let out as well as his mind slowly but surely being corrupted. Plus Glitchtrap also outright says that his "soul will be erased" so along with an already pretty cruel fate to be put in, he also plans to straight up erase him and use him as a meatpuppet. Plus the song also just straight up says he plans on doing this to more people.

"GLITCH TAPES EVERYWHERE. PLEASE BELIEVE ME HE WILL SHARE. WHAT HIS GIFT IS TO YOU"

So ya know, it's clear that he doesn't just plan to do this to one victim, and considering all of that, I think I can at least comfortably say he passes the baseline.

Verdict?

I'm a yes personally. Just please be respectful in the comments, as admittedly, the one made in regards to my previous Afton EP did bother me more than I'd like to admit.

My mere presence makes everyone's day worse.
