IDK what the issue was here, maybe those were seen as too common? Someone just didn't feel like listing Disney films? But I'd be fine with expansion.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Indeed, these should be expanded.

back lolPatiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.
The following is copied from a TLP draft I did awhile ago:
- I think it makes more sense for an adaptation in the Literature/ namespace to have a single adaptation trope that describes the format/medium it is in (Novelization), instead of a separate one for Novel adaptations, Novella adaptations, Novelette adaptations, and Short Story adaptations.
- I think it makes more sense for an adaptation in the ComicBook/ namespace to have a single adaptation that describes the format/medium it is in (Comic-Book Adaptation), instead of a separate one for 3-D comic adaptations, Photo Comic adaptations, and Graphic Novel adaptations.
- I think it makes more sense for an adaptation in the Theatre/ namespace to have a single adaptation trope that describes the format/medium it is in (Screen-to-Stage Adaptation), instead of separate tropes for musical adaptations and non-musical adaptations.
Now notice the last category that I mentioned, Screen-to-Stage Adaptation. The name is set up as a medium-to-medium trope, but the article itself includes any format for the original work, as long as the derivative work is in the Theatre/. That's an example of a common trend for some of the existing media adaptation tropes (the worst of which is are The Movie, Non-Serial Movie, Big Damn Movie, and The Film of the Series).
So, no. I don't think the concept is already covered in a reasonable manner. The goal here is to fix formatting (this is an example of the adaptation, not the original work) and to resolve the complications with the existing adaptation tropes by basing the medium adaptation trope on the namespace used for the adapted work.
I don't want Film.Clue to have two separate tropes describing the adaptation; Live-Action Adaptation and Movie Adaptaion. I especially don't want new tropes describing the format of the original work on the page for the adaptation such as Adapted From A Board Game. I'd rather it was just one trope to describe the change in media; Live Action Film Adaptation (or whatever the name ends up being).
Expand.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessIf we do decide to expand it the Animated Film folder examples will have to go since it would be misused under the new definition, maybe that could be its own trope something like Film To TV Adaptation.
CM Sandboxes, MB SandboxesWait, why would it be misuse?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessBecause for example with Tangled: The Series it is adapting something that was already animated from film to tv.
CM Sandboxes, MB SandboxesOh. I swear there's gotta be a trope for that somewhere. If not it'd be easy to whip one up.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThe best I can see is Recycled: The Series but that is a Trivia trope, for some reason.
CM Sandboxes, MB SandboxesThat's not an adaptation, it's a Sequel in Another Medium though, right? (technically an interquel but u get d point)
Anyway, sure, let's expand to all forms of animation; admittedly I thought it was already the case and may have contributed to misuse.

Huh, well, I'd say we move the misuse there anyway.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThough Recycled: The Series is currently under Tropes Needing TRS for the exact reason that it is not Trivia, maybe I should do that next.
CM Sandboxes, MB SandboxesExpand to include animated film.

No reason to have that distinction in place since the Live-Action version of the trope doesn't have it and the Western Animation/ namespace also doesn't distinguish between shows and movies (although it honestly should, but that's for another time)
for expanding it to include animated film adaptations
Y'ALL JUST GOT SHREKTMade a crowner in case we don't already have enough consensus.

Crown Description:
What should be done with Animated Adaptation? The trope is currently limited to animated series, but is often applied to animated films.
Animated Adaptation according to its description is supposed to be for works that get adapted into an Animated Series but as the Animated Adaptation Wick Check revealed it is often used for Animated Films. Here are the quick results:
What makes this even weirder is that its counterpart Live-Action Adaptation doesn't have this restriction. Personally, I would say that we should expand it to include both as I don't see any reason why Animated Films shouldn't be allowed.
