Character Page Cleanup

On Characters.American Girls Collection Historical Characters, it looks like each girl's folder also contains Tropes applying to her books' supporting characters. (eg, The first two tropes in Samantha's section describes characters who were either Adapted Out or given an Adaptation Personality Change in her movie, neither of which happened to Samantha herself.) Should such entries as these go?

I made some currently-red linked sandbox pages for my rearranged character pages for Black★Rock Shooter. However, I also forgot to note that the characters that were introduced in the "derivative works(i.e. animes (2010 OVA, 2012 anime and DAWN FALL), mangas (Innocent Soul amd Black Rock-chan) and video games (The Game, Arcana and Fragment)) were made exclusively for said works. So in the case of the 2010 OVA/2012 anime, Innocent Soul, The Game and Dawn Fall, I think their respective character pages should be left intact and need to be rewritten by adding context and removing the huke characters.

I could also put the characters from Black Rock-chan and Arcana at the main page since there is little-to-no information about them for a separate page in no small part of them never being released outside of Japan. I'm not sure Fragment, as the is still Japanese exclusive, doesn't have a page on this wiki, and what little information about the game is scarce due to the above mentioned reason.

Never mind. I missed the "For more information, see [insert other page here]." lines, though their Those Two Guys and Tiny Guy, Huge Girl entires still fall under Zero-Context Example.

In a character page (namely Characters.Yu Yu Hakusho Main Villains), Jerkass is listed in Elder Toguro's folder. However, a Sub-Trope (i.e. Jerk with a Heart of Jerk) is already listed. Can I delete his Jerkass entry? (Sorry if this isn't the right place to go for this, I don't think any other thread that I know of would substitute. I tried to go to "Is This An Example Thread?" but I never got any responses.)

Based on my old query, I have decided to make sandbox pages for my re-arranged Black★Rock Shooter character pages, where instead of having huke's original quartet (Black★Rock Shooter, Dead Master, Strength, and Black★Gold Saw) be pasted on each page, I've decided to create/conceptualize a standalone page for all of huke's original characters, not just the main four. In addition, in my post on Character Pages cleanup, I've said that the pages for the 2010s anime, the Innocent Soul manga, the 2011 video game, and the Dawn Fall anime would be left intact as their characters were made solely for their respective adaptations, as well as for Fragment if I could make a page for the game itself.

Furthermore, I will not include those who were introduced in Arcana and Black Rock-chan, due to the lack of trope-worthy examples for both works to get their own pages (partially due to the former never being released outside of Japan and the latter having a Minimalist Cast if you discount BRS, Dead Master, Strength, and BGS). Here's how the pages would go:

• huke's Original Characters (Dead Master and her counterparts, Strength and her counterparts, Black★Gold Saw and her counterparts, Black★Devil Girl, Black★Matagi, Dragon Slayer, and Infinite Range Maid)
  • Black★Rock Shooter and her counterparts (includes Insane Black★Rock Shooter and Black★Rock Shooter BEAST)
• Anime Characters (characters who were introduced in the 2010 OVA and 2012 anime - Mato Kuroi, Yomi Takanashi, Yuu Koutari in the former; Saya Irino, Kagari Izuriha, Arata Kohata, and Chariot in the latter)
• Innocent Soul Characters (Ron, Ram, Jack Ollie, Leto, Io, Hanako Namakura, Acta, Nico, Cecil, Kaede, Ouru, and Tiger)
• The Game Characters (Nana Gray, Primary Support Service, Apostles, White★Rock Shooter, and The Professor)
• Dawn Fall Characters (Monica Kaburagi, Black Trike, Isana, Peacebuilding Forces, Education Institution, Jessica)
• Fragment Characters (Bunny1, Forge5, Clock404, Brownie9, Suicide7, Mia, and Sumina Amano)

I've noticed that there are a lot of game pages (primarily Gatcha Games) that include a ton of information in a "character profile" style that seems largely extraneous.

On the Genshin Impact character pages, using Ningguang as an example:

Rarity: 4★
Birthday: August 26
Element: Geo
Weapon: Catalyst
Model: Tall Female
Constellation: Opus Aequilibrium, the Gyroscope
Specialty Dish: Qiankun Mora Meat (Mora Meat)^note Caelum Terra Mora Meat prior to v1.2
Normal Attack: Sparkling Scatter
Elemental Skill: Jade Screen
Elemental Burst: Starshatter
Utility Passive: Trove of Marvelous Treasures (displays location of nearby ore veins on the mini-map)
Affiliation: Liyue Qixing

The only things I can think of that are relevant in this format are rarity, element, and weapon (directly involved in gameplay), affiliation (story info) and maybe constellation, for the motifs. Birthday and specialty dish mostly exist for Garnishing the Story and if they're relevant they can be troped under Significant Birth Date and various food tropes. Model type is one step down from an appearance trope and if it is relevant we have a trope for it. Elemental Skills and Bursts are described in the paragraphs before the trope list and can be troped as well.

On the Arknights character pages, using Myrtle as an example:

These aren't quite as bad but I don't think birthday and height are relevant, and I don't know what the ID number even means. tags are extraneous to the subclass and any troping of her gameplay moves, and skills and talents are useless without any elaboration. I only think rarity, subclass, affiliation and race are useful.

I can't assess other gatcha games super well, since these are the only two I play that have this problem, but I think we might want to do something about this

Yeah, I'm all in favour of cutting most of that. Some of it can be listed in the character intro if tropers really want to keep it.

On a different note - I've just commented a bunch of tropeless characters out of Age of Apocalypse, which looks like it needs a lot of work. Looking at some of the remaining characters:

• One has We Hardly Knew Ye as his only trope
• One has Spared by the Adaptation as her only trope
• One has Back from the Dead as her only trope

...technically, I guess that counts, but if the only thing you can say about the character is that they lived or died, is that really worth a character sheet?

I would just move those three tropes to the main work and cut the character page.

Should Artoria/Altria Pendragon's content from Fate/Zero and Fate/hollow ataraxia's character pages be added to the Fate/stay night: Saber page, since they're specifically meant to be the same version of that character following the same timeline(s)?

I think fate zero is technically considered a slightly parallel timeline due to inconsistencies between it and stay night

First I'm hearing of that. The ufotable anime, at the very least, treats it as a singular timeline.

Zero was written by urobuchi not nasu, so well it was meant to be a prequel he ended up taking a few too many liberties (including with sabers characterization). Their fix was to just make it an alternate timeline.

I think most of the info about the previous grail war and saber is found in the fate route, which ufotable didn't adapt. I haven't actually played the VN so my knowledge of that is second hand

Recently, I've gotten little-to-no replies for my Black★Rock Shooter sandbox pages either through my queries or this thread. Knowing now, simply going on threads/queries and conceptualizing an idea for a sandbox without actually creating the sandbox wasn't really a bright idea on my part. For a matter of fact, making sandbox character pages for a series that has each continuity distinct from one another would be tiresome, especially in the case of FRAGMENT since I've only seen it through its wiki page.

But then I realized that on my first thread for the subject, I thought of simply and only creating a standalone page for huke's Original Characters that would focus on the main quartet and their counterparts (and potentially a Character-Specific Page for B★RS herself) as well as those who've haven't appeared in any media aside from, well, huke's drawings.

So instead, I've decided to only focus on creating a Character page for huke's original characters instead of every other character who've appeared in the animes/mangas/games, with B★RS's CSP being created sometime after her page reaches a maximum of 5000 pixels. I don't even need a sandbox to create the hypothetical page; I can just copy paste their pre-existing folders onto a new page. So this is how the finalized page should go:

• huke's Original Characters (Black★Rock Shooter and her counterparts ^note  Includes Insane Black★Rock Shooter and Black★Rock Shooter BEAST , Dead Master and her counterparts, Strength and her counterparts, Black★Gold Saw and her counterparts, Black★Devil Girl, Black★Matagi, Dragon Slayer, and Infinite Range Maid)

Characters.Pop N Music gives me the vibe of a partially done page split. After H-K, there is no further example subpage. The ZCE's don't help.

I was cleaning up Pandaing To The Audience a bit yesterday and I noticed something odd. Warcraft The Horde Pandaren and Warcraft The Alliance Tushui are both miniscule pages with one and two characters respectively... but all three characters are already completely mirrored (including all tropes) on Warcraft: Pandaria.

I'm assuming the reason this was done was the lack of precedent for a neutral playable race when Pandaren were first added. However, the second neutral race Dracthyr are located on Warcraft The Dragonflights without the need for this weird split. I think this is much cleaner.

Am I good to turn those pages into redirects, and merge anything missing back into the main Pandaria page?

I'm currently working on a sandbox for Black★Rock Shooter's original characters (i.e. the original Pixiv illustrations by huke), but I'm not sure if I should focus on the just quartet (Black★Rock Shooter, Dead Master, Strength, and Black★Gold Saw), Black★Devil Girl, and Black★Matagi, just the main quartet or just B★RS, Dead Master and Strength since they appear in nearly every incarnation of the franchise. For a matter of fact, would Devil Girl, Matagi, Dragon Slayer, and IRM consider getting folder? Cause I don't think they have a specific role in any work since they didn't appear in them. Maybe Devil Girl and Matagi, given their popularity, but the others are too obscure enough to get a folder.

For upcoming Power Rangers Cosmic Fury Show Since we made a Power Rangers: Recurring Characters page and Power Rangers Cosmic Fury is coming up reusing the the cast from Power Rangers Dino Fury I wanted to continue the process of only having one folder per character but adding all the Characters from Dino Fury to Recurring Characters runs the risk of the page being too long as it is already 219,000 bytes . So I propose for the Power Rangers Cosmic Fury character page we just put a redirect to the Power Rangers Dino Fury character page. And I also propose we move Mick Kanic to Recurring Characters. One folder won’t hurt

So Characters.The Legend Of Nayuta Boundless Trails is pretty empty with only a few tropes that are ZCEs. Since we have no knowledge of the game's characters (at least until the English release this September), is it safe to cut the page and turn it into a sandbox?
