Do we have a thread for discussing merging pages that are too short? Like, a work page gets split into subpages A-M and N-Z but both are too short to be their own pages.
CSP Cleanup Thread | All that I ask for ... is diamonds and dance floorshttps://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=16537518770A08137400&page=10#236
"Is this subpage too short?": Re-merging Project
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576Where's the Laconic Clean-Up thread again?
Thanks!

Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."It's also in the pinned directory post.
Macron's notesTwo unrelated questions -
- Do we have an "Is this excessive detail for an example?" thread anywhere? If not, what's the best place to raise such things when it doesn't count as Wall of Text (e.g. when a second opinion on cutting detail would be welcome)?
- I know there's a subpage merge thread, but is there a works page split/merge thread for pages that aren't just starving for tropes or too long - e.g. when a trilogy's on a single page and a split is contemplated, or when a Sequel Series is sufficently close to the original that tropers want to merge it?
Thanks!

Is there a thread for Darthwiki/Sugarwiki?
Edited by Wario on Jun 5th 2023 at 5:56:45 AM
I have an idea. Hear me out.
So, I'm noticing many different tropers having confusion finding specific threads for things—you can see several examples in this very thread.
Since the forum search function is so terrible, I'm wondering if we could semi-resurrect an old discussion and maybe put all the important or semi-important threads for wiki maintenance, cleanup, etc. in a giant Sandbox or Administrivia page. Essentially merging the current page with Sandbox.Pages With Cleanup Projects, along with links to general subforums like the Trope Repair Shop, Trope Talk, Wiki Talk, etc. and specific pages like Tropes Needing TRS, the TRS Queue, the IP-related sandboxes, maybe a link to the Monster Sandboxes and Magnificent Bastard Sandboxes, etc. It'd be stored (for now) on Sandbox.Wiki Maintenace Directory. Maybe, to help confused tropers, we could even have a broader Sandbox.Wiki Directory page to guide tropers to wherever they need to go.
Good idea, or bad idea? Is it too cluttered? Should we hash out the scope first?
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallI still have Project Thread Map but I don't think have the interest or the attention span to work on it right now.
Macron's notesI'd rather start from scratch. My idea potentially encompasses more than cleanup and maintenance threads and would include sandboxes and relevant Administrivia pages that are good to keep in mind.
I may start the sandbox myself, with permission, actually.

TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallOh, I see. My sandbox was specifically for updating this thread's OP so I might keep it around.
I think there was another sandbox like that but I forgot the name of it. I don't think it had administrivia page links. The wiki maintenance directory idea sounds ok to me. A general wiki directory is probably not within the scope of this thread though.

Macron's notes
Wait, is it within or not within the scope? If it's the latter, could I take it to Wiki Talk?
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallThe latter. I edited my post sorry. Wiki Talk sounds fine.
Macron's notesI wanna talk about how problematic I think JustForFun.Deviant Art Recommendations is, but I don't know where to go to discuss this. Where should I take this problem?
This is Idol Tap. (My Troper Wall)The Short-Term Projects thread has become less active in recent months. Where should I go to discuss that?
This is Idol Tap. (My Troper Wall)The fact it's less active is fine. There's no need to discuss it. We are all volunteers. When people have the time to work on it, they will do that. We can't force people to do anything.
Macron's notesWhere is the absent people thread? I can't find it.
This is Idol Tap. (My Troper Wall)Any chance we can add the NREP thread to the "Long-term efforts for tropes" section of the pinned post?
- Recent Examples Maintenance: Setting and reviewing "No Recent Examples" (NREP) and similar time-based rules for tropes. Cleanup for any examples with NREP issues.
That's done
Macron's notesI found some examples of Tsundere that still use the "Type A" and "Type B" labels. Where do I go to discuss examples like that?
This is Idol Tap. (My Troper Wall)Type Labels Are Not Examples can lean to either Zero-Context Example or Word Cruft, so I'd go to either here or here depending on if it's contextualized. In either case, "Type A" in examples holdd no meaning and should be removed.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupIs there a thread for discussing if a work page's examples should be folderised due to length?
I'm wick-cleaning Getting Crap Past The, and the examples for Lord Peter Wimsey take me more than 40 scrolls of my mouse to reach the bottom (not counting the "Tropes Found in Adaptations" list at the bottom).
Creepypasta cleanup got two major pages for JTK and Slender
For that I would use the is this an example thread
