As mentioned on the Cut List page itself, cutting is generally seen as a last resort. If it's a Work page for a valid work, we may ask if there have been other attempts to save it. If it's a subpage, we may want to confirm that examples are being moved, not lost entirely.
Cut requests that don't have a reason will be declined.
Posts here may cover the following topics:
- Mod or engineer posts confirming that a cut has been declined.
- Challenges to save something that's already on the Cut List but hasn't been cut yet.
- Queries about recovering or restoring a page that's already been cut.
- Queries about next steps for pages where a cut request was declined (e.g. due to very high inbounds).
- General Cut List policy questions.

The cut request for Film.The Salute Of The Jugger has been declined, at least for the moment.
It's a stub, but I couldn't see any evidence that the creator had been notified. A notifier's now been sent to them and a post's also been added to the film's discussion page, to give them a chance to fix it.
If it's still a stub in a couple of days, we'll cut it.

That's a valid reason, but I'm not seeing any discussion in the Character Specific Pages cleanup thread or the more general Character page cleanup thread, so it also looks unilateral. Have you checked with those character cleanup threads?
Can you also confirm that all trope examples have already been copied back to another page? The typical process is to move them, turn the single character page into a redirect, and then cut it.
Once that's all confirmed, we can cut it.

Agree that they're in a poor state (just a list of linked character names) and we should do something, but can you run them past the Marvel Comics cleanup and/or general Character Page cleanup before we cut, to see if anyone there wants to expand/save them?
(Given that ComicBook work pages for all three exist, would another option be to keep them but as redirects to the main Characters.X Men page?)

Declining the request to cut The SB Wproductions:
There Is No Such Thing as Notability, so the niche point isn't relevant here. The rest can be edited and updated, and wouldn't normally justify a cut.
I note you're also new to the wiki - if you're actually the same SBW (or acting on their behalf), The Fic May Be Yours, but the Trope Page Is Ours becomes relevant as well, and you should probably talk to us rather than trying to cut the page yourself.

I recently sent One Hero Two Sidekicks to the cutlist because it's a redirect to a trope that has been cut. The old name is disambiguated because it shares a title with a movie, so the redirect no longer fits the page. Several others had agreed to cut it.
Looks like the cut has been declined. Is there any particular reason why?

~Graf von Tirol, it's okay of a Recap/ page for a work is full of redlinks. This gives tropers a chance to make pages for the specific episodes. Thus, the cut request is declined.

I was confused why the link was still green after the cut. Recreating the page without the redirect link and cutting again seems to have worked.

The issue is that it shouldn't be a list of nothing but redlinks for that long. If nobody makes a page within a reasonable amount of time, like about a year or two, is it likely anyone ever will (at least in the hub page's current form)? That's what I'm concerned about when combing through the indices.

We do cut recap indexes as stub though if there is less that one valid episode page. These are for grouping tropes and not to have an episode listing, so redlink policy doesn't extend to it.

Can't find where this was discussed, but I know it exists somewhere... and it was deemed OK if a page is entirely redlinks because someone went out of their way to format them as links, e.g. Show Name Season Number Episode Number.

If the work's main Recap/ page is an index with all chapters redlinked, it's to be cut as a stub. It's fine if it has at least one healthy chapter subpage.This doesn't work, because it requires the editor to create the "episode" recap before creating a naming system for all of the known "episodes". You must know the naming system first, and the index is the best place to add it.

I guess Post-Crisis was declined because of the inbound count? I did post on the "What qualifies as a work" thread but no one answered in 4 days, so I sent I to the cut list. I also had previously sent Hourman to the cut list and it was cut despite the high inbound count. Any reason this was declined?
