Inspired by this thread, I've noticed that this wiki doesn't have a dedicated cleanup thread for negativity.
As we all know, Complaining About Shows You Don't Like, Creator Bashing and other negativity isn't desired on the wiki, except in a few selected areas like reviews and several Darth Wiki pages (and even then, with limitations). And yet, it's one of the most common sins wiki contributors can make.
So, if you find a page, TLP or discussion whose content seems like a straight-up insult or any other bitching - including complainy soapboxing -, you might ask here for help with removing said content.
The sandbox for this project is located at Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining.

I'm also thinking it could use a reference to parodies making that mistake, because it has the risk of becoming a Zero-Context Example otherwise. Does anyone think I should?
I think Seltzer and Friedberg made a specific movie where they referred to Po as Kung Fu Panda so I think that can still be mentioned.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Specifically, Disaster Movie. (Don't ask me why I know this, it hurts to remember.)
I already knew that, but thanks for the answer. I rewrote the entry accordingly.

"Listen up, Marina, because this is SUPER important. Whatever you do, don't eat th“ “DON'T EAT WHAT?! Your text box ran out of space!”Found in the description of The Secret of NIMH 2: Timmy to the Rescue:
As I understand it, we aren't allowed to list reception in the description, right? So this can be cut?
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallThat’s the policy, yes.
The Looney Tunes Show also does that.
"Listen up, Marina, because this is SUPER important. Whatever you do, don't eat th“ “DON'T EAT WHAT?! Your text box ran out of space!”Removed it, thanks.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallDon't know if it fits this thread, but the Western Animation folder in Stock Footage needs a serious cleanup, as there are some bashing examples and a bunch of examples that rely on Youtube links that I'm sure have been dead for a long time.
The best character is always the one-shot disguise.Found on Damsel Scrappy:
- Ninian from Fire Emblem: The Blazing Sword often gets lumped into this category, even though she's only ever captured twice and the third time she goes with the Big Bad willingly to spare her friends' lives. Not to mention she is a very useful member of the party with her ability to give an extra turn. But she gets in between Eliwood-based pairings, the bitch!
Should the last sentence be given the axe? It looks pretty bashy in a Shipping Goggles kind of fashion.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportIt's either bashing the character due to shipping reasons, or it's bashing the fandom for bashing the character due to shipping reasons. Either way, it's irrelevant to the example. If she is hated due to ship wars, that can be written under Die for Our Ship if it hasn't been already.
Fanon Discontinuity is meant for works like sequels or episodes being ignored by the fandom because it screws up their mental image of the plot, but it's often used as "This work is bad, so the fandom ignores it". The work is meant to be ignored due to narrative or tonal reasons, meaning works only disliked for other things like gameplay don't count. Fanon Discontinuity is also misused for really minor things that the fandom decides to ignore in otherwise loved works. I've seen misuse a lot more than legit examples, so it might need TRS.
Sandbox help wanted.Okay, the sentence was pulled. Also, she is listed in DFOS (on both sides of the shipping war; one favors her while the other opposes her).
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportAliens: Colonial Marines has quite a bit of complaining. Could I add it onto the complaining sandbox?

Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread!High-profile, notorious trainwreck of a game? I'm surprised it's not on there already.
YMMV.Advertising has some issues with complaining. Somehow, it seems like it isn't even supposed to exist.
Edited by BigJimbo on May 4th 2021 at 8:54:46 AM
Yeah, I think we can just cut it wholesale.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessYeah, we don't do YMMV pages for mediums as a whole. Send it to the cutlist and I will apply the salt after cutting.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportWhy couldn't they just make WhatAnIdiot.Advertising? Not that I care to move the entry when it's just complaining about Too Incompetent to Operate a Blanket and taking a silly commercial too seriously. (And I say that as somebody who recently bingewatched Compare the Meerkat and GEICO ads.)
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Kinda makes it a little ironic, given the trope itself.
Anyways, page is cut and PRLC'd.

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI brought this up on the Soft Split Clean-Up Thread, but I think Pokémon: Genesect and the Legend Awakened might need a look at. For those unaware, the film is controversial for featuring a Mewtwo that is entirely unrelated to the one that appeared in the first movie, and fans did not take kindly to this idea. The YMMV page attracted so much complaining, that any entry talking about Mewtwo was moved to its own subfolder, which I've never seen done on any other YMMV page.
Right now, I'm gonna add it to the Controversial Works sandbox, since I haven't personally seen the movie. I also think some of entries listed may be outdated, since I know the original Mewtwo did make a return appearance in the Journeys anime, so fans have probably calmed down about the writers "forgetting" the original.
From YMMV.The Loud House S 2 E 8 No Such Luck Frog Wild:
- Signature Scene: The infamous ending where Lincoln is forced to wear the squirrel suit for "good luck" on the beach is most remembered by the shows fans and viewers.
- The respective scenes where Lynn Jr threatens Lincoln with violence in order for him to come the baseball game with her bat, and then latter when she first labels him "bad luck" also counts. For a lot of people, those were the moments that solidified Lynn's reputation as a Base-Breaking Character.
This seems to be used to complain about the episode/characters.
Edited by costanton11 on May 5th 2021 at 6:46:47 AM
The first one might count as it's responsible for the Never Live It Down reputation of the episode, but the second seems to just be pure complaining.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Agreed. The first half may exist because the audience reacted negatively, but the example is still valid. The second half is just complaining, though.
back lol
Incinerate it.
