This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

Easy Come, Easy Go's quote is just a segment of a song that uses the title in the verses, not an actual example.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportThe quote on Signs of Disrepair isn't really indicative of the trope purpose because the burnt-out letters don't really add new context to the sign.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. What even is the quote on Strawberry Shorthand?
SoundCloudI...I have no idea.

back lolThat's just completely incomprehensible.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.I went ahead and pulled it.
Also, re Easy Come, Easy Go, that quote probably would just as well be pulled too.

SoundCloudShould the quote in Amnesiacs are Innocent be removed? The quote doesn't actually describe any amnesiacs, and the only way you can understand that an amnesiac is involved is by the additional description that's not actually in the quote itself.
Yeah, that doesn't really work
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing. This is the page quote for Film. The Fanatic:
Should it be removed since it's complaining about the work, and as far as I'm aware page quote for works need to actually be from the work?
It also doesn't mean anything unless you're familiar with Forrest Gump and Taxi Driver. As I don't know a thing about either work, the quote tells me literally nothing.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.I've removed the quote.
I want to include this paragraph from the The Iliad in The Unfavorite (regarding Ares/Mars)
- Jove [Zeus] looked angrily at him [Ares/Mars] and said, "Do not come whining here, Sir Facing-bothways. I hate you worst of all the gods in Olympus, for you are ever fighting and making mischief. You have the intolerable and stubborn spirit of your mother Juno [Hera]: it is all I can do to manage her, and it is her doing that you are now in this plight: still, I cannot let you remain longer in such great pain; you are my own off-spring, and it was by me that your mother conceived you; if, however, you had been the son of any other god, you are so destructive that by this time you should have been lying lower than the Titans."
From book 5. I'm unaware if using the Roman names or the Greek names. My edition (in Spanish) have the Greek ones, but the English edition I'm copy pasting uses the Roman names.

To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Quotes.Cavalry Refusal are both about not having backup, rather than backup refusing to assist. I think they should be replaced with Rorschach's "They will cry out 'Save us!' And I will whisper back, 'No.'" quote from Watchmen.
would it be okay to remove the quote on Azumanga Daioh? it's way too long, and while it's a funny moment, it doesn't really represent the entire series that well. i don't have any ideas for a replacement, unfortunately.
Agreed with removing it.

I've been thinking of posting this paragraph from the short story The House of Asterion in Never Learned to Read. However, since the story is only 6 paragraphs long, I feel using an entire paragraph is wrong.

To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Big Sleep's quote seems to be "Sleep as Deadly Euphemism", instead of "Dying with eyes closed"?
Jasper: I told you, they put him to sleep.
Ren: So wake him up.
Jasper: You don't wake up from the big sleep.
Ren: The big sleep... THE BIG SLEEP? THE BIG SLEEP! THE BIG SLEEP! (series of Wild Takes, then curls up whimpering)
Stimpy: What's the big sleep, Ren?
Ren: (gets closer to Stimpy's ear) ...he's DEAD! DEAD, YOU EEDIOT! DO YOU KNOW WHAT "DEAD" IS!? IT'S WHAT WE'LL BE IF WE DON'T GET OUT OF HERE!!

The page quote for No Plot? No Problem! is a Seanbaby article discussing the Bad Dudes intro- except, seeing as it is the page image for Excuse Plot, the quote belongs on Quotes.Excuse Plot instead. No Plot? No Problem! is when a game doesn’t even have an Excuse Plot but has no plot whatsoever. Permission to move the quote to Excuse Plot?
The quote, for context:
I'm not sure how the quote on Keep the Reward is even remotely connected to the trope. Cut?
I added the preceding line for context, how's that?
Much better
I agree it doesn't fit the trope.
That seems like a reasonable move.
The quote on Double Standard: Abuse, Female on Male doesn't seem to clearly demonstrate the trope. I suggest replacing it with either of the first two from the quotes page. (The third one on the quotes page is the page image.)

The page quote for Hanaukyō Maid Team is really lewd and appears to be a fan reaction comment.

I’d choose the second, the Crazy Ex Girlfriend one since it’s concise, simple and gets the point across.
Rebecca: That clearly is a double standard!
Both: But it's probably for the best.
Crown Description:
What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
The quote for Took a Level in Badass technically works without knowing who the characters are, but potholing the names to the works is definitely helpful for people who don't.
Also, What to Put at the Top of a Page says "Quotes do not have potholes in their original medium," but quotes from TF Wiki Dot Net could. Would that be an exception to the "no potholes in page quotes" rule?
