The page quotes in Princesses Prefer Pink and True Blue Femininity only talk about the colour (barely so at that), and adds nothing to the actual definition of the trope.

True Blue Femininity unfortunately has to quotes subpage or any available alternatives from the examples list, so I'm inclined to just cut it unless someone has a better suggestion.

For Princesses Prefer Pink, the last two from the subpage could work. Thoughts on which one is better?

"Ah good old pink dress! Why would I wear anything different?"

That's right, I'm a princess

True Blue Femininity is a little bit of a mess in trying to pin down what it's supposed to symbolise in a woman. First, it's a sign a woman is fair and gentle. Then, it states it's a symbol of peace, serenity, kindness and other unstated 'womanly virtues' that potholes both the Women Are Delicate and the Proper Lady tropes (Proper Lady and Women Are Delicate are potentially contradictory). And, then, it mentions that it's a sign of high rank in the Mediterranean — which potentially has nothing to do with temperament at all.

Anyway, the only thing I can think of off the top of my head is to quote from The Belgariad, where Pol isn't generally treated in an excessively feminine way when everyone's travelling on the road together, but the minute she has the chance to put on a beautiful blue gown, she's treated by everyone (including a bit of the author's choice of language during the scene) in a highly feminine way.

However, getting that across in a short quote is difficult. I'll give you two quotes from different points of the same scene:

The first one:

Garion gasped. The rich, blue velvet gown she wore made her so magnificent that she quite took his breath away. He stared at her in helpless admiration.
"Where is he?" she askd. "Don't stand and gape, Garion. It's not polite."
"You're beautiful, Aunt Pol," he blurted.

The second one:

Wolf looked up at her, his eyes still bright. "An excellent choice, Pol," he said admiringly. "Blue has always been your best color."
"Do you like it?" she asked, holding out her arms and turning almost girlishly so that they all might see how fine she looked. "I hope it pleases you, old man, because it's costing you a great deal of money."
Wolf laughed. "I was almost certain it would," he said.
The effect of Aunt Pol's gown on Durnik was painfully obvious. The poor man's eyes literally bulged, and his face turned alternately very pale and then very red, then finally settled into an expression of such hopelessness that Garion was touched to the quick by it.
Silk and Barak in curious unison both bowed deeply and wordlessly to Aunt Pol, and her eyes sparkled at their silent tribute.

The above second option could be cut down to just this:

Wolf looked up at her, his eyes still bright. "An excellent choice, Pol," he said admiringly. "Blue has always been your best color."
"Do you like it?" she asked, holding out her arms and turning almost girlishly so that they all might see how fine she looked.

Beyond that, I'm not sure what else to suggest for the trope.

[up]Of your suggestions, I like the first one best, though I don't think the dialogue is necessary.

(pssst... that's because it's not actually a trope)

I think the discussion of whether or not something is a trope belongs in TRS. That said, I don't think True Blue Femininity aims to pinpoint specific feminine qualities, but just that the color blue is associated with womanhood in general. Similar to Pink Means Feminine, just with different colour.

I've got no problem with the dialogue-free version of the first suggestion.

The Battle Cats has a pretty long quote, which is the entirety of the game's opening scroll. I'd say it should be removed for being so insanely long that you have to scroll down to actually see the description.

Cut it to the first three lines, I think.

Gonna ask again about Rocky Roll Call, since I only got one response about it. I think the quote is far too long, even if it is the trope-namer scene.

it's also full of sinkholes and unnecessary notes.

It literally just repeats the same six lines three times, so cut it to the first iteration.

Maybe remove Rocky's [looks over], too, since a pothole or note explaining that he's The Voiceless would be distracting.

There's another unsourced quote in Translation Train Wreck, but I don't really like any of the other options in the subpage? Any suggestions?

I’d say definitely remove the Audience Participation Notes and other Trope links, but keep the length

But that’s just me being biased, I totally get shortening it down to a single run through of the lines

The page quote on Disproportionate Reward isn't good because I don't see how it's an example of or describes the trope, and it feels like it's too context-dependent.

The quote from Boss Battle sounds like a reference but it is a Sink Hole. Can someone fix or clarify where the quote comes from?

I want to add this entry (August 15) from The Sorrows of Young Werther to They Changed It, Now It Sucks!. However, I don't know how to put it.

Here is the entry:

There can be no doubt that in this world nothing is so indispensable as love. I observe that Charlotte could not lose me without a pang, and the very children have but one wish; that is, that I should visit them again to-morrow. I went this afternoon to tune Charlotte's piano. But I could not do it, for the little ones insisted on my telling them a story; and Charlotte herself urged me to satisfy them. I waited upon them at tea, and they are now as fully contented with me as with Charlotte; and I told them my very best tale of the princess who was waited upon by dwarfs. I improve myself by this exercise, and am quite surprised at the impression my stories create. If I sometimes invent an incident which I forget upon the next narration, they remind one directly that the story was different before; so that I now endeavour to relate with exactness the same anecdote in the same monotonous tone, which never changes. I find by this, how much an author injures his works by altering them, even though they be improved in a poetical point of view. The first impression is readily received. We are so constituted that we believe the most incredible things; and, once they are engraved upon the memory, woe to him who would endeavour to efface them.''

I thought only adapting it as:

"If I sometimes invent an incident which I forget upon the next narration, they [the children] remind one directly that the story was different before; so that I now endeavour to relate with exactness the same anecdote in the same monotonous tone, which never changes. I find by this, how much an author injures his works by altering them, even though they be improved in a poetical point of view. The first impression is readily received. We are so constituted that we believe the most incredible things; and, once they are engraved upon the memory, woe to him who would endeavour to efface them."

but I'm not sure myself.

Boss Battle does not have a quote, but a caption. It's not a sinkhole and does not have to be attributed.

For They Changed It, So It Sucks, add the shortened version.

World War III and World War Whatever have the same quote. One of them should have it pulled, but I don't feel it fits either trope that well.

Beta Couple has a quote that seems to be more concerned about giving a Shout-Out to the (possible) Trope Codifier rather than actually describe what the trope is about.
