YMMV / Zero 2: A Revision

• Angst? What Angst?: The Digidestined don't seemed to have any sort of nightmares or signs of PTSD despite being straight-up tortured by Devimon and Darkheart.
• Anti-Climax Boss: Just as the Digidestined decides to fight Demon at his full power, 'Piedmon' aka Myotismon swoops in and banishes his soul before the other Digidestined sans Shaun fights him.
• Base-Breaking Character: The inclusion of Halo Digimons such as Elitemon and Gravemon. Some fans believe that they fit into the story, gives the story a layer of politics and diplomacy and since this is the Digital World, many Digimons based on other series can exist. Others believe that they were shoehorned into the story, only introduced during the last two-thirds into the story and does not fit with the Myth Arc of the Zero 2 universe, and never called their attack names.
• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Pretty much anytime a character breaks the fourth wall. There is no explanation for this occurence, often comes out of nowhere, and the next scenes act like nothing has happened.
• Breather Boss: After the climatic and brutal confrontation between Kari and Darkheart, the newer Digidestined confronts Mummymon later Pharaohmon who is much easier than the Dark Angel.
• Cliché Storm: The second arc gradually devolves into this trope as any mysteries regarding the villains and the universe are gone in favor of the generic "Heroes vs Villains" action genre.
• Crosses the Line Twice: Darkheart beating up Davis until near death, pure evil. Darkheart carving Davis's burns into a shape of Barney The Dinosaur, hilarious.
• Evil Is Cool: Darkheart, an original villain of the Zero 2 universe, is so deliciously evil with his own snarky and mocking comments as well as being the villain that comes closest to defeating the Digidestined that both the fanbase and the author himself ended up liking him.
• Fanon Discontinuity: Other than the original pilot episode, all of the Digimon movies are treated as non-canon by the author in order for the series to fit in more with the first series.
• Harsher in Hindsight: At the end of the fiction, the public distrusts the Digimon due to the fact that thousands of people die during the Odaiba War in spite of the fact that the Guardian Beasts restore the facilities to its perfect condition. A decade later in Digimon Adventure tri., the public distrusts the Digimons for the opposite reason; the facilities ended up being destroyed during the fights in the real world with some off-handed reports on people being hospitalized.
• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • One of Cody's main trait is learning how to be humble and not be arrogant with pride, which is why he is the wielder of the Crest of Humility. Ironically, in another Digimon Adventure 02 remake, Cody kept giving in to his pride by completely refusing to believe that Ken is redeemed and is suspicious of him in every way, whether or not he proved his own worth.
  • Oikawa in this fic undergo both Adaptational Heroism and Adaptational Wimp in that he became The Atoner and does not really play a significant role in the grand scheme of plot. In Digimon Adventure 02: The Story We Never Told? He underwent the other way around, that is both Adaptational Villainy and Adaptational Badass in that his villainous schemes are entirely under his own output and is the Big Bad of the fic, with Myotismon being a fodder instead for him.
• Jerkass Woobie:
  • Demidevimon in this fan fiction, even though he is the same Digimon that pesters the separated Digidestined and reborns into a minion of Demon, he only became a bad guy he is completely abandoned by his own partner out of fear of his mega form after Demon is defeated, ruining any and all Character Development placed upon him. He spent the next 28 years in which 4 of them are Digital years feeling lonely, unable to find any trace or presence of his own partner. After reuniting with Joshua after so long, he immediately vents all of his anger at the man for his abandonment with tears in his eyes.
  Demidevimon: YOU ABANDONED ME!!!!!! AFTER EVERYTHING WE DID, EVERYTHING WE ACCOMPLISHED, YOU HAD THE GALL TO JUST UP AND LEAVE ME!!!!!!! YOU RETURNED TO YOUR COZY LITTLE HOME, AND I NEVER HEARD FROM YOU AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!
• Moral Event Horizon:
  • Umbradevimon crosses it when he orders Arukenimon and Mummymon to torture the entire New Generation Digidestined save for Davis and TK just to give them a message.
  • The original timeline Demon crosses it when after he manipulated Shaun into releasing him from the Dark World, went on to murder every single Digidestined and their Digimons indirectly. Even though he dies, he laughs doing so because not only he has successfully completed his mission but also he will inevitably return from the dead.
  • Darkheart cements himself as a dark hearted being when he destroys the entire Primary Village out of sheer sadism.
• The Woobie
  • In this fanfiction Davis is turned from a Butt-Monkey Idiot Hero into a full on Woobie, first he is constantly suffering at the hands of his own comrades, especially Yolei who enjoys picking on him, never seems to appreciate his hard work and is always putting him down for the smallest thing, he also experienced a Painful Transformation when he obtained his own crest as it is carved into his own body instead of being turned into a trinket like the other Digidestined. His jealously and hatred for TK for spending more time with Kari allows Umbradevimon to put him through a Mind Rape which turned him into the homicidal, ruthless fighting- killing-machine Darkheart and he has to watch him assimilate and tortures the entire Digidestined just because he can. And just when you thought he has gotten a break his parents ended up being indirectly murdered by Gravemon resulting him and Jun becoming orphans. Oh, and he also have to share an apartment with Yolei after the series ended whom to him, is the most annoying girl to ever existed and vice versa.
  • Poor Elecmon, having his own Primary Village destroyed again by none other than Darkheart. His reaction and anger towards him is what sells it.
  Elecmon: You destroyed my babies, I won't let you get away with this.
