The Casagrandes Movie is the 50th film produced by Nickelodeon Movies, and a continuation and the Grand Finale to The Casagrandes. Having just turned 12 years of age, Ronnie Anne Santiago plans on spending her whole summer having fun with Sid, but an unexpected family trip to Mexico puts an end to that. As Ronnie Anne attempts to make the best of the situation, she accidentally unleashes a chaotic teen demi-goddess, Punguari, on the world and she relies on the help of her family to stop Punguari.

The film was released on Netflix on March 22, 2024.

The Casagrandes Movie provides examples of:

  • 2D Visuals, 3D Effects: Don Tacho's plane is a cel-shaded CG model.
  • Animation Bump: Much more of an upgrade compared to The Loud House Movie. The backgrounds are on a much grander scale than the show and there is a greater focus on lighting. The animation becomes much more fluid during the fight against Ucumu.
  • Animorphism: The gods have the ability to transform into animals. Punguari in particular can transform into a giant coyote and an owl.
  • Big Bad: Ucumu, the god of the underworld. Originally one would think that Punguari is this, but it's subverted.
  • Birthday Episode: The movie takes place during Ronnie Anne's 12th birthday.
  • Bird-Poop Gag: Ronnie Anne's sweater gets pooped on by Paco's adopted kids.
  • Black Comedy Burst: When asked by Carl why she has stopped playing Fire Ball, Mama Lupe says her old team broke up. Cut to a flashback revealing said teammates have died, with Mama Lupe visiting their graves and calling them a bunch of quitters.
  • Bring My Brown Pants: After passing by Ucumu, Bobby voices his Flat Dad with this line:
    Bobby: I just flat-pooped myself!
  • Brutal Honesty: Carl doesn't sugarcoat on how Ronnie Anne stopping Puguari isn't likely. He is hit by Rosa for his troubles.
  • The Cameo: During Carlota's livestream of Ronnie Anne's birthday, Luna, Clyde, Flip, Lincoln, and Lori can be spotted amongst her viewers.
  • Chekhov's Gun: During the climax, Maria used her overly long schedule plan to reach for Ronnie Anne's hand.
  • Clark Kent Outfit: Carlos tears off his shirt and vest to reveal huge muscles before wailing on Ucumu's demons.
  • Company Cross References: While using the portal in the beginning, Punguari sees glimpses of Bikini Bottom and O-Town. A SpongeBob mask can be seen in the following scene for a spilt second.
  • Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: Punguari has a few similarities to Morag. Both have relatives shown from centuries ago (Punguari's parents, Morag's relative Aggie), both pretended to befriend the main protagonists and manipulated them to get what they both wanted (for Punguari, she took the form of human alias Shara and manipulated Ronnie Anne into getting the Mask of Many Faces; for Morag, she manipulated the Loud sisters into showing off their talents to Loch Loud, making Lincoln feel like he's in their shadow again and then manipulating him into taking Lela for a ride, so that she can brainwash the dragon and cause damage to Loch Loud, making the villagers hate Lincoln, so she can take the crown for herself) and both briefly ended up in a high position of power (for Punguari, she makes herself a full goddess; for Morag, she crowns herself as duchess). The only difference between the two is that Punguari had a Heel Realization and made a Heel–Face Turn to stop the true Big Bad, while Morag remains as the Big Bad and has a very petty motivation.
  • Crazy-Prepared: Ronnie Anne gets a massive book on Mexican history from Carlos for her birthday, which Sergio throws into the trash. Later, when she admits she left it at the apartment, Carlos whips out another copy.
  • Darker and Edgier: The film is much darker than the series and its sister show's own film. To cement this further, the film actually received a PG rating, when most expected a G.
  • De-power: Ucumu losses his lava armor after his mask is removed.
  • Distant Prologue: The story begins 800 years ago, during Punguari's attempt to become a full goddess and her mother sealing her away, before cutting to the present day.
  • Dramatic Gun Cock: Parodied. Before popping all the birthday balloons, Ronnie Anne begins by grabbing Sergio and cocking him like a rifle.
  • Evil Counterpart: Punguari is one for Ronnie Anne as they are both preteens who seek independence from their parents. However, Ronnie Anne genuinely loves her family and wouldn't hurt anyone while Punguari was willing commit horrible acts just to meet her wants. Punguari does end up seeing the error of her ways though. All in all, initially one can say Punguari is what Ronnie Anne could have been had she let her resentment and yearning for independence in regards to Maria's well meaning but overbearing and slightly controlling nature consume her to then rebel and lash out in a very disastrous way.
  • Eye Scream: Maria's very long itinerary pokes Hector in the eye during the road trip.
  • Foreshadowing: During the Myth Prologue, you can see something silhouetted approaching behind Punguari.
  • Grand Finale: With the show having been cancelled 2 years before the release of the film, this film serves as the finale to the entire series overall.
  • Generation Xerox: Rosa and Mama Lupe tell Maria that both of them wanted independence from their parents.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Ucumu, the Mexican God of the Underworld, proves to be even more of a threat than Punguari, who ended up being the one who released him.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Punguari sees the error of her ways once Ucumu enters the picture.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: During the climax when Carl finally gets to utilize his fireball skills, he declares “We’ve been waiting to do this the whole movie!”
  • Myth Prologue: The movie starts by showing the story of Punguari, a rebellious demigoddess who wanted to ascend to full godhood against the wishes of her parents, who felt she wasn't ready for the power and responsibility. Punguari ascended to godhood on her own using the Mask of Many Faces, but when her power proved too much for her to control and began to damage the earth, her parents were forced to seal her away. However, the myth doesn't give the full story, explaining how Punguari's loss of control accidentally released Ucumu, the destructive god of the underworld, and while trying to prevent his escape her parents were sealed away themselves by him before they could release her.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Ronnie Anne unleashes Punguari while doing one of her stunts.
  • Not Evil, Just Misunderstood: Punguari is ultimately just a pre-teenager who is asserting her independence and isn't so bad.
  • Once More, with Clarity: The flashback seen at the beginning is given more context later in the movie as Punguari's parents sealed her just as Ucumu came.
  • One-Person Birthday Party: Punguari DJs a celebration party at her temple, only for the scene to pull back and show there's nobody else there. Cue rolling tumbleweed.
  • Out of Focus: All the cast outside of the family are put on the sidelines, with Sid only getting in a few lines.
  • Prolonged Prologue: About six whole minutes pass until the movie's title appears.
  • Side Bet: Mama Lupe and Don Tacho had a bet on whether or not her estate was on top of a temple. She won.
  • Skyward Scream: Ronnie Anne begins her twelfth birthday by announcing to the heavens "I'M TWELVE!!!"
